Yummy, yum, yum! I really enjoyed lunch at Fresh burger. I ordered the fried chicken salad and my partner had the fried chicken sandwich with fries and onion rings. Both were excellent. I'm the Burger Man with the Best Burgers in America Association, and I was invited to score a burger at Fresh Burger Grill in Soddy Daisy, TN. And it was worth the drive. As it says in their name, "Fresh Burger" fits them to the T. It's fresh and never frozen. It's one of my top burgers so far this year. The toppings were amazing, fresh, and blended well. Located right on Dayton boulevard its pretty easy to find. Parking seems adequate although i didn't notice any marked handicapped places. You'll need to walk across traffic lanes wherever you park but since the lot is small you shouldn't have any issues if you watch. We ordered pickup at lunch and were told 15-20 minutes. We went in about 15 minutes later and our food was just coming out of the kitchen. The burgers were all packaged nicely and made the short trip home with no problems. Our burgers were cooked perfectly, the flavor very nice, and all ingredients tasted fresh. The fries were also excellent. It is definitely worth a stop. read more

We went to The Soddy- Daisy location on a Tuesday for supper (party of 7) and we're not disappointed!! Mac n cheese bites were a favorite! My fiancé ordered the fried bologna sandwich - massive piece of bologna and it was apparently delicious! I ordered the patty melt with a side salad, again it was great! The remainder of our crew ordered: fried chicken salad, fried chicken wrap, blt, chicken melt, and hamburger steak. My fiancé and I went back on Thursday for lunch. The burger was good. You could tell the beef was fresh. The fries were good as well. Service was also good. Soddy Daisy location: It wasn't busy when we visited, so our wait was minimal. The BLT with Chips and the Patty Melt with Fries were both great. See the pics for yourself. Well, I been wanting to come here since this restaurant opened around February of 2016. This is the second location for Mervs in the Chattanooga area. They have remodeled the outside of this building to give it a more modern look. When you walk in there is a second dining area on the right that includes a pool table. I sat in the main dining area on the left. Menu items ordered: Mervs Burger, Onion Rings and coke. The cheeseburger came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mustard, mayonnaise and melted cheese. It was impressive as well as delicious. Their onion rings were perfect as I added a little ketchup to them for that all American taste that I was after today. Hours: Their hours are Monday thru Saturday 11am to 9pm. They are open on Sunday's too from 11am to 3pm. They have TVs in here as they have one in the main dining room and another in the back room where the pool table is. They have several tables in here and they also have booths too. You can pay your server or go to the cash registers towards the back to pay. Specials: They have a special on Wednesdays where you can get a Mervs Burger, fries and a coke for $7. So that is one great deal where you can save money. They also have a Lil Merv special on Tuesdays for $5 that includes French fries. 3rd time eating at Merv's in the last month - Excellent burgers - as good as I have ever had - hand made with fresh meat - fresh cut fries cooked perfectly - always crispy but not over cooked or undercooked. Fries are cooked in Soy Oil which can be heated to higher temperature resulting in quick crisping and it gives them a flavor similar to fries cooked in peanut oil. I spoke with some locals who said this isn't the original location - supposedly better - well this location worth eating at for good hamburger and fries. I stay in Downtown Chattanooga with a ton of different restaurants and I eat At Merv's on way home at night! read more

Mervs is the quintessential old type tavern style burger. This day in age where burgers have expanded way beyond the horizon of possibilities it's nice to have an all American burger and Mervs does just that. Their burgers reminds me of something my grandmother expertly perfected in a frying pan and that of an Armandos burger. I ordered the Merv Burger which is an 8oz hand patty (Merv Jr is a 5oz patty). My wife ordered a patty melt. They have usual burger accompaniments what I like is that you can get an order of half fries half onion rings. The order is plenty for two. The fries are hand cut and cooked perfectly. The onion rings have some serious brunch with a sweet Vidalia onion center. Marcus is now starting to offer hand dipped milkshakes along with Coke Floats. This is a nice traditional touch to such an American style burger The staff was all very nice and attentive to customers. The only I took was with the decor. Dark black paint over red with black painted drop ceiling. It made the place feel like 50 Shades of Gray play room. It makes the place feel very closed off. Take that drop ceiling out, change those colors asap. The psychological effects is the reason those two specific colors should not be used in conjunction with each other. Visiting the area for A College Bass Fishing Tournament and took a drive to Soddy Daisy! Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did! They renamed this place to Fresh Burger and the name is spot on! Freshly made and cooked to order! We started with fresh made pork rinds that were popping & crackling when they brought them to the table! M husband had the fried bologna sandwich and he said it was the best he's ever had! I had a small burger combo with hand cut fries! So good! We will probably end up here again before we leave! We have been meaning to eat at the Merv's Burgers Mountain Creek Road location and hadn't gotten around to it. When we learned that they opened another location out in our neck of the woods, we had no more excuses. We stopped by early on a Saturday evening (around 5 o'clock). There was only two other tables occupied and so reading the Seat Yourself sign, we sat by a window. Don't let the empty tables fool you, by the time we had finished eating, there were only a couple of empty tables. We could see into the other side that there were pool tables, but we didn't go in there. Our waitress had our menus to our table before I had even sat my purse down! She took our drink orders. There really wasn't much to think about. We were at Merv's Burgers, we were definitely having burgers. She brought our drinks and took our order - burgers with cheddar and regular toppings and fries. She said that they were testing a new bun - corn dusted as opposed to sesame seeds and we said we'd be happy to test it. The food was out quickly and everything looked great. The burger was obviously hand formed with simple toppings. Now, the burger was good. It wasn't great, but it was good. I would have liked it a little more juicy, and not so dry. The corn dusted bun was nice and I prefer it over a sesame seed bun. The show stopper for me were the fries. Hot and crispy, perfectly seasoned and hand cut. We will definitely go back. This was a cost of high expectations since I had eaten at the original Mervs for a long time. Kim, our waitress, always rocks. She has worked at several eateries we have visited over the years. Now to the food: The buyers were very good, freshly cooked and the lettuce and tomato ma were fresh and sliced properly. The buns were run of the mill buns off the Sysco truck but still pretty decent. The onion rings were great hot but as they began to cool, the flavor wained. The French fries were above average and tasty, cooked just right and delivered to our table piping hot. Kim kept our soda glasses filled. The location has been a number of different restaurants over the years and I hope Mervs makes it in Soddy Daisy. read more

We love Merv's! They have great burgers and fries, and their onion rings are soooo good! I have only been to the Soddy Daisy location, so I'm speaking strictly about it. They used to have amazing homemade desserts, which we were sad that they discontinued. My only complaint is that they won't allow you to do half fries/half onion rings when purchasing the combo. I feel like since they offer half and half if purchased separately they should allow it with the combo for an up charge. read more

I found this place doing a quick search on Yelp for a local, well reviewed restaurant in my area. My husband and I work in Hixson and wanted to get some dinner with a friend while trying to keep it under $15 per person. Gotta say this was a pretty good choice. All three of us had a Merv burger with either fries or tots. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. It was definitely better than a fast food burger, but for a sit down place I would personally prefer Five Guys.
