We love their ice cream. They make great cups, cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Just ask for No Sugar Added; some of those may be in a hidden freezer. We live close enough to walk there; when we purchased, the previous owner said she had worn a groove in the pavement to Kay's! That groove is deeper now. I love their chili dogs, too. We were excited to find Kay's Kastles today because we've been in search of a hand dipped ice cream cone. Very cute big place. Lots of sitting and choices (and also hotdogs and stuff.) We ended up with hot fudge ice cream cake. Very good! Just enough and a good price! We will go back maybe tomorrow for a cone! read more

Cheap, inexpensive, and fun. They even have some short irxere food like hot dogs. The ice cream here is good and THE cheapest in town, or anywhere close. Kays has been around for years and has not changed. They don't take credit card so make sure to bring some cash. The people that work here are ethet really nice, cordial, or basically take no joy. We decided on Kay's since we weren't terribly hungry and just wanted a quick bite. We arrived a bit after 5 and found an empty restaurant. The dining area was shiny clean and very pleasant. We placed our order, and had a seat. Within minutes about 10 people walked in, most ordering ice cream. Our ours came out quickly. We both had cheeseburgers and sweet tea. The burgers were thick and perfectly cooked with all the trimmings. Very good. The sweet tea was SWEET TEA. The menu is limited but the service was good and our food came out quickly. This one more fine palace of an ice cream parlor. They've got everything you'd ever when it comes to ice cream treats. Hot dogs, meh, not so much. It was a cheap boiled weenie that had been cooked to death. My dog had split in the water which didn't help. Everything else was just average. The bun was steamed. That helped but not enough for me to get another hotdog here. Stick to the cones, shakes and sundaes here and go elsewhere for lunch. read more

Love Kay's. It's old school and I love the atmosphere. Reminds me of going for ice cream with my granny. They are a cash only establishment. They have hot dogs and burgers too. I believe this is the last surviving Kays Kastle, having grown up in the 80s this was the go to place for ice cream sundaes. I had to stop in one night with my wife. After walking in I was immediately hit in the face with complete nostalgia. It was like walking back in time. The decor, chairs, signs, basically everything has not been changed. Problem is that it kinda reminds me of daycare. There was also this very bizarre shrine at one of the tables to which I presume was the owner or close to the owner. We love Kay's Kastle. They are very friendly and they have really great prices. If your tired of paying 7.00 for a cup ice cream at the shops downtown this is perfect for the kiddos and your pocketbook/ wallet. They also have food items that would be like ball field snack bar items but it's really all about the good old fashioned ice cream shop where paw paw used to take you for a treat.
