Steve's Landing is located in Soddy Daisy at a marina. Parking can be limited during the summer time. We went for an early dinner and though very busy, we were able to get a table rather quick. We would normally sit outside because of the nice deck and water views but it was a chilly spring afternoon. Service was OK. Not fast but not slow. She forgot things that we had to ask for numerous times but she also had several tables and two big parties so we think she might have been overwhelmed. We got the spinach cheese dip and shared a rack of ribs. Both were really good. The ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone. This is also a great place to visit while on your boat. They have boat parking at the marina but it often fills up during the busy summer months. read more

This is a gem in Soddy Daisy! I have now been here twice as a post-hike lunch/dinner. I love that it has a patio by the water, and the interior is actually really cute too - diner vibes in a laid-back atmosphere. Service has been slow to welcome us both times and the servers are a bit blunt, but we've had good food here, so can't complain too much! I've tried their salad, their fried chicken sandwich, and their Catfish sandwich - I wouldn't get a salad here again, but I definitely recommend either of those sandwiches. Good stuff! read more

They have some great outside seating. On a day like today it's refreshing. The staff is attentive. It is one of the few restaurants that seemed fully staffed! They are known for their ribs. We are new to the Hixson area and my brother's Uber driver recommended Steve's for catfish and ribs. Cute and casual restaurant. Our server was amazing - she handled the 7 of us expertly, however the man at the front counter was pretty rude. He told my older mother that we had to wait outside and my mom asked if he meant the outside of the restaurant to which he replied, "is there any other outside?" I have no idea who he is, but he walked around the restaurant with a grumpy look on his face the whole time we were there. All other staff were very friendly though. I wish I remembered our server's name - she was young with blond hair. My brother said the catfish was delicious and my husband said the ribs were really good. My mom got mahi mahi and she said it, too, was delicious. The chicken tenders were your basic frozen kind you'd find at a McDonalds and the corn fritters were also frozen. The location is great on a marina so we'll probably go back during the summer, but I don't think it will be in our restaurant rotation. read more

Far from great but it is ok. I wouldn't go again. We had multiple items on the menu. Tuna, swordfish and mahi mahi. All the fish was dry. The potato was good and the fried okra was as well. I didn't enjoy the spinach or the caso dip. Both were just ok not something great. The service was ok and she did her best to keep drinks on the table, it was busy. Really wanted this to be sooo much better. It's a gold mine sitting right off the water but it needs a major facelift. The place is rundown and dirty. We went for dinner at 5:30 and the place was packed which is great for them. Unfortunately sitting inside was rough because the acoustic are so bad you can barely hear the person next to you. Then the food was very well done even though we asked for medium. I bet the grill needs to be cleaned. We asked for 3 non-alcoholic drinks that are on the menu and they were out of all of them. The server said, yea we are out of a lot of things. The men's bathroom is beyond small and also very dirty. Had a nice late lunch early dinner. Had a new shrimp appetizer that was good .... the dipping sauce was spicy like we like it. I've always liked the jalapeño hush puppies which are priced right. Entrees were fried shrimp and bayou chicken....both were good. My chicken had good flavor and was very generous portion. Brought half the hush puppies and entree home. My husband makes better ribs at home. I ordered a burger. The burger was dry and the bun was stale. It probably wouldn't grow mold if left out for a month. We stopped in for lunch after a morning of house hunting. I had the fried grouper and my hubby had the blackened swordfish. His swordfish was cooked well. My grouper was dry and unremarkable. The service from Server No.7 (she gave no name), was lackluster. The young lady at the hostess station was on the phone and seemed bored to tears. The floors were filthy. I know a lot of people love this place, and perhaps I just tried the wrong things, but I didn't think the food was very good. The location is great, if you want to have some drinks sitting by the water out in Soddy--this is perfect. They also have a good variety of food to choose from. We had a large group and got the Queso as a starter, which was pretty good. I got the Steve's Favorite burger and I didn't like it at all. The patty was square and definitely tasted like it was a low quality store-bought frozen patty. Everyone else in our group wasn't overly impressed with their choices either. Like I said, it's a cool spot where you can dock your boat and come up for some food. I'm planning to try it again and pick something else and will update this review afterward. read more

Great food in very casual sitting. Look out over the marina while you dine. We sat outside and even though it was 90 the big oaks made shade and was very comfortable. We had Catfish, shrimp and Kickin Chickin. All was well cooked and tasty. The beers are cold and the food is good. some people come to eat in swimsuits with a coverup so don't overdress. read more

Never had a bad experience and have been several times. I finally tried the ribs the last time I went and I agree they are very good. I still prefer the Bayou Chicken and the rest of the family either gets it, the smothered catfish or the catfish platter. Appetizers - always the jalapeño hush puppies and sometimes the grouper fingers. Desserts! OMG, the desserts have been wonderful. Bread pudding, blackberry cobbler, apple dumpling, fudge nut brownie, whatever. It is all yummy. We have never had a problem with service either but this place gets packed. Had been wanting to try out this place since I read a review on Nooga.com. It was a beautiful day, no rain, low humidity, mid 80's...so the BF and doggie and I decided to go for a drive. This place is just what I imagined it to be...a little lakeside dive. Lots of patio seating that was full, so we sat inside. Still had a view of the lake so it was all good. It was busy but we got service pretty quick...scanned over the menu for drinks and lo and behold, they had Bartles & Jaymes listed. LOL. It's an inside joke from the movie Son-in-Law that just happened to be on TV the other day. Well, I had to oder a Fuzzy Navel. We ordered the onion rings and queso dip for apps. Queso dip was something unique...it had spinach in it. It was a different flavor but something I kinda dug. The onion rings came in a bucket and were hot and tasty and came with a horseradish kind of dipping sauce. I ordered the Steve's Special Burger...came with two cheeses, bbq sauce and all the usual burger stuff. It was a very good burger. Not dry, nice and juicy and very flavorful. BF ordered the catfish platter. Came with fries and coleslaw. He said the coleslaw tasted weird so I had to try it...and it did. Just had some mayo in it, not really mixed. Seemed like they forgot a few ingredients, like sugar and a touch of vinegar. He said the catfish was good. I'm not a catfish fan so I can't attest to that. The only hiccup was the service at the end...had to wait a long time to get the bill but the sever was very apologetic and we were in no hurry. Overall...this is a fun place to go. The food and atmosphere was outstanding and I planned on giving 5 stars but one servers lack of consideration for the pandemic changed my mind before leaving the restaurant. I was pleased to see staff wearing masks and we were able to sit outside at a table. The tables were distanced from each other in a way it made me feel comfortable to have my meal there instead of taking it to go. One gentleman came and sat down at an empty table and the server asked if she could take his order. He said he was ordering to go and she asked him to go inside to place his order. He replied to her "I don't have a mask so I can't go inside" the servers reply was "we have a sign for masks required but we can't enforce it, why don't you come in and place your order" I couldn't believe she said that. Why not just take his order and bring it out to him? The lack safety and consideration for the patrons really was upsetting. But the food was good! read more
