Chom is my favorite restaurant in Provo and my favorite burger joint of all time. I would give it an 11/10 rating if I could. I've been coming here for years now, but it keeps getting better with time! In the last year or so they've started doing monthly items - definitely check these out because I've never been disappointed. My favorite items on the menu are the Garlic Burger and the Salted Caramel Biscoff shake (absolutely divine). Apart from the food, it's a really fun joint to hangout with friends or go on a date. I have lots of good memories here! Last of all, the staff is always friendly and they keep it cool in tough situations. We've always gotten our food to us quickly, even on a busy Friday night. This last Friday in particular, while we were picking up our order, some moron got pissy over the wait time and kicked a chair, kicked a door and ran out in a huff, but the staff paid him no mind and made sure everyone was still being taken care of in a timely manner. A hidden gem in Provo! This place is so good and the food is beyond flavorful. I always order the grilled chicken sandwich. (On the menu it's crispy, but they have had no problem making it grilled!) The sweet potato fries are the best in Provo, and the milkshakes are just the right consistency of thick and creamy. This is one of my husbands favorite restaurants and he always orders the grasshopper shake, green chile burge, and of course the sweet potato fries. I'm not a huge fan of anything that comes from Provo (Go Utes) other than my own birth. But, this place was great. We had a party of 8 and everyone talked highly of the items they got. The chicken club and the chicken fingers were good, but if you are coming here skip the chicken and go for the burgers. The Spicy Serrano Burger was excellent (a little less spicy than expected). Chom does a good job at putting out better than average burgers and solid shakes. Chom gets a lot of hype as one of the best burgers in Provo. While still a good burger, I don't think it quite lives up the expectations. I like Chom quite well. I always get the green chile burger. It has great flavor and would recommend it over and over again. I wish that the patty was a bit bigger considering how huge the buns are, but the flavor is still good. I also really like the fries. The sweet potato fries are on point. The milkshakes are really tasty, and I have tried them all, and love all the flavors. If the food is so good, why only three stars? The problem I have is two parts. One, the service is always slow. I know the food is made fresh and milkshakes take time, but when there's only one other couple in a restaurant, I expect to get my food in under ten minutes. It's usually closer to 20, whether busy or slow. I also think that they'd do themselves a huge favor by offering a reduced price for a meal combo with the shake, burger and fries. That is not the case. I think for the population it targets, the price point is slightly high. If someone gets a burger, fries and a shake, you're looking at about $15. Drop it to a combo price of $12, and I bet there would be booming numbers of patrons. read more

I was truly sad to see Diegos Tacos go, but you are a welcome replacement. And holy cow, I was very surprised on how much I liked this place. The Stat Wars mural alone deserves five stars, but on to the food. I got the Green Chile Avocado burger and it was delicious. I was a little disappointed when they say avocado, but it's actually store bought guacamole. Please use real avocados. I also got a regular fry, which was good, kinda like McDonald's fries (not a bad thing), but better. But the best thing we ordered by far was the Pumpkin biscoff shake. WOW WOW WOW. Get that. We had tried that as well as the BBQ bacon cheeseburger. While the food was great, the value wasn't found. The fries and shake were amazing but for what we paid it was kids size. I came to chom and saw someone sit down at the table with some chicken strips. I thought those would be good, so I went to order them. When I said that I wanted the chicken strips I was told that I couldn't order them because they were on the kids menu and I'm over 20. This would have made sense if there were some other option for chicken strips that wasn't on the kids menu, but all they offer was the kids. I don't understand why you'd only have something available on the kids menu. If it's because it's cheaper we'll then make a bigger portion and charge a little more for it. If there would have been a non kids size I would have said "sweet I take that then!". With that being said, my over all review of chom is that it's not bad. The food is good enough, but their pricing and odd business practices don't cut it. They also semi recently changed up their whole pricing scheme. Where previously you had the option to do a combo meal having a burger fries and a drink, pretty standard stuff. However, now they slightly lowered the cost of the burgers on their own to then discontinue offering meals which lead to an overall more expensive price for a burger fries and drink. read more

OK deceiving I was invited to an yelp event and had a chance to revisit this place after having a bad first time experience. Had a chance to talk to the manager about the philosophy and about my prior experience. Yeah good recommendations and also shared with me they had change some of their products. Their ice cream use for the shakes was nice coming from Rockwell, just down the road. The first time I came the shake was very runny and a great disappointment... This time I'm happy to say that the shake was thick and delicious. I appreciate what they're going for here with their burgers which reminds me a lot like shake shack in New York... But I prefer the shake over the burger. I tried both the sweet potato and the regular potato fries, and I prefer the potato fries to the hands-down. To be honest I find it pretty rare to find a sweet potato fry that I really enjoy. I'm glad to give this place another chance and found things on the menu that I like and things that I still feel rather blasé about, the BBQ bacon burger...but, I will be back for the shake and the fries. Had an issue with our food, bacon burger and Chile avocado burger, made wrong, after waiting for 30 minutes. The manager came out and told us tough luck & he wouldn't do anything to right the wrong. He was some punk manager cooking at the grill, not a real manager, but claimed to be the GM, and the girl at the register was equally rude!!! we left, threw our mediocre food away and will never be back. I came to Chom to experience and see what all the hype was about. Great reviews on Yelp and other SM platforms. My family and I got a Chom Burger a Bacon Blue Burger and a Caesar chicken salad The burger looks amazing the meat looks like it's grilled on a flat top and the serving for the price leaves a bit to be desired. The lettuce was a bit yellow and not cold or crisp. The Bread makes the burger look good but I'm going to guess the Pattie is maybe 4-6 oz, one piece of bacon in the bacon blue was a downer. Now the Salad is a totally different story - good portion size the chilli's give it a nice kick. We enjoyed the salad. The fries it pains me to say are frozen. I was wanting some fresh fries for the price. Over all it was ok. The value was lacking - for the price of their Drinks I could have stopped in at a local mixologist across the street and saved some coin. Over all a weak 3 stars. If your near by - stop in but don't go out of your way. read more

Meh. Long wait, prices of a "haute indy" burger joint, but food that just doesn't inspire... well... much of anything, really. We ordered three burgers and both kinds of fries. Everyone agreed that the burgers weren't impressive. Ingredients seemed fresh, but not particularly tasty or well-matched. Forgettable. Lots of char flavor but not particularly moist, not particularly crusted, not particularly rare, not particularly seasoned, not particularly anything. Buns are nothing to write home about, despite what some say. Dryish and crumblish. The veggies are veggies. Portions are average. Fries were crisp and shoestring variety but again, just fried and salted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They gain a bit in freshness factor over a place like McDonald's but are otherwise pretty close to the same thing. For a significant price multiple. Environs? Unfinished floors. Unfinished ceilings. Barely finished tables and booths. One wall is a "chalkboard" with a bunch of "writing" on it (actually fake and pre-printed on both counts, with movie quotes). The unfinished/unfinished/chalk wall thing should give a hint as to why reviews are so high despite boring food and high prices. I'm going to go ahead and say it out loud: this place is very high on the "Brigham's Hipsters" Factor. You know--the one that's emerging in Utah Valley over the last few years. This is one of those places that a certain type of BYU student can go to in order to get their Edgy-Yet-Still-Wholesome-for-Mom feeling of Hipness going on. But it's honestly just meh all around. On food, Mooyah is better. In-N-Out is better. The Habit is better. JCW is better. Chom is better than McDonald's, sure, but I wouldn't put it above Carl's Jr. Ouch. This place wants to be Chedda Burger in Salt Lake, but these hipster environs feel manufactured and forced and overclean rather than organic, and the food is very Utah Valley--pale and bland in comparison to a place like Chedda in the next valley over. Final scores for Chom? "Brigham's Hipsters" factor: 9.5/10 Normal hipster factor: 1.5/10 Speed: 3.0/10 Ingredient quality: 7.0/10 Taste: 4.0/10 Portion size: 5.0/10 Memorability: 1.5/10 Price: $$ (3x chain burger average) Our opinion: May as well head to Carl's Jr. instead and save a bundle while getting better actual burgers. The restaurant has a modern look to it and it's clean. And for all the soda drinkers out there, they have Pepsi and Coke machines. I tried the Mushroom, Pastrami, & Swiss Burger. I also had bacon added to it. My first thought...this is a small burger. My second thought...this wasn't that great of a burger. The patty is small, on the greasy side, and lacked a lot of flavor. The pastrami was a tiny slice, which reminded me of a slice of pepperoni. However, the visit wasn't a total fail for me.
