There is SO much to like about Chloe by Vincent. The vibes are perfectly contemporary in the best way possible, with a refined menu with a distinct point of view. We really enjoyed our entire meal, but I must ding my review by one star due to the exceptionally long period of time between our appetizers and entree. I don't know about you, but when I'm traveling and at a particularly interesting restaurant, I'll over order in hopes of trying as many things as possible. We attempted that during our visit to Chloe, but with the 45+ minute wait for our lovely steak frites, we were beyond full when it arrived. I never mentioned it to the waiter because it ended up working out in my favor, but I was also a little frustrated to have ordered oysters, that never arrived on my table or bill. It's an easy mistake to make, but still a little frustrating in the moment. *That all being said* we really enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be back next time we're in Minneapolis. It's VERY good, and very unassuming, totally approachable, yet ever so slightly bougie. read more

First of all - love the ambiance in here! Moody but trendy vibe Service was excellent- we got seated early and our server was knowledgeable friendly and offered great suggestions on the menu- best part was he had them split the plates as he knew we wanted to share the food !!! Love this Steak frites were decent- not the best I've had but definitely upgrade to the hangar steak Fries could have used something special to elevate the dish The seafood pasta was good - just not enough seafood! The beef bourgignon was rich and heavy - but it's supposed to be Wine choice was excellent and fairly priced I would love to try their happy hour menu Pink moon oysters were excellent- no shell and shucked beautifully!!! Dessert was average/ Vincent childhood favorites had tiny Madeline's with rock hard ice cream and chocolate sauce- would try a different dish next time Parking can be a pain if an event downtown- the ramp across is what they use and can stamp your ticket for $4 unless event dt read more

Service - great Drinks - great (I got the perfect pear) The specific food we got? Fell really, really flat. Unless you enjoy a spoonful of textured ketchup, skip the beef tartare. Truly the worst tartare I've ever had. Crab cakes were ok at best. Did not taste very seafoody, seemed almost stale, and they came with two sauces but one (the green) was incredibly bland. I've only been there one time before this and the food was good then but this experience definitely deters me from trying again. read more

This restaurant shares a building with the hotel I stay in and I had never been there before. So one day, decided to go and try it out with a few folks! It took a little bit for the server to come by but that was ok as we were just talking amongst ourselves. Once he greeted us, we ordered some drinks, the bread and butter and some appetizers. I have to tell you, once that bread came out of the oven, the smell just wafted through the whole restaurant. There is nothing like fresh baked bread! Once the bread came, I jumped right into the baguette. It was amazing! Crispy and crunchy on the outside and chewy and light on the inside, exactly what you would expect from French baguette. The butter was nice a creamy as well. All of us decided to get the muscles, oysters and formage board. The board was delicious and so were the muscles. We then ordered our dinner. I was told by the bartender across the way to get the Steak Frites with the smashed potatoes so that is what a few of us ordered. When our steaks came out, mine was unfortunately well done and super dry, as I had ordered it med. So they took my steak back and went to recook it. They also didn't bring us our smashed potatoes but rather gave us french fries, so we ask them to correct that as well. They sent us a order of just smashed potatoes and I began to eat those as I waited for my steak. Once it returned, It was very good. Great seasoning and not too tough. The smashed potatoes were also a hit. Overall, the food was really good, and the service could have been better but we did enjoy ourselves! You will too! read more

I've been wanting to try Chloe by Vincent for a while now. I had a great opportunity going out with a friend before seeing a play recently. We visited during a happy hour and upon entering we were asked if we had reservations. We said no, but mentioned that we just wanted to eat at the bar if that was OK. The host kind of gave us a weird look and basically dismissed us. I was nervous that with that being our first experience in the restaurant that it might be a disappointment overall. Luckily, upon sitting at the bar, we were treated wonderfully by both bartenders working that evening. We selected a few items, including the croque monsieur bites and poutine. That was more than enough for the two of us along with our drinks. But, if there is beef tartare on the menu, chances are I'm going to try it so we ordered that as well. I am so glad that we did. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. Perfectly seasoned and a surprisingly large portion. The other two items were tasty and perfect for an elevated happy hour. Drinks were also very good we tried the Kir Royale, Chloe 75 along with their seasonal drink. The spot is cute, service other than host was wonderful and the food and drinks were tasty. I'd add this to the list of repeat options in downtown Minneapolis. read more

Four of us had dinner and then 2 joined for salads and dessert. I had the beet salad and walleye and then we all split four desserts. The chocolate mousse, floating island, sorbet of the day (grapefruit), and affogato. All desserts were excellent The beet salad was really a lot of beets! I shared some of it and it was still very big. There wasn't a lot of arugula, cheese, or other ingredients. It was all about the beets which were expertly prepared. The Walleye was sitting in a lot of oil. It was hoping it would have been a little lighter. I tilted the plate and ate it. It was very tasty. There were a lot of capers! Desserts were incredible. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse which was creamy with crunchy layers. The whipped cream complimented it perfectly. The grapefruit sorbet was refreshing. I like the floating island too. It seems tropical. It was creamier than I expected. The affogato was outstanding. It was ice cream with espresso poured on top versus an espresso with cream in it. The portion was generous. Overall service was excellent. I also had an earlier issue with figuring out attendee numbers and Chloe was great. read more

We were so impressed by Chloe by Vincent. The oysters were some of the best we've had in the Midwest, and the scallops were so buttery and flavorful. I had been wanting to try Chloe by Vincent since they opened and we finally went there for dinner. Overall, I will admit that the parking situation is kind of a headache, I wish they offered valet or had some sort of dedicated parking (which I understand can be difficult downtown). Overall, the ambiance was night. The sound level was moderate. There was a bit of confusion when we got there, they couldn't find our reservation (we didn't need one, it wasn't very busy early in the evening). They eventually found it and got us seated - unfortunately this took about 10 minutes of just standing there. Once we were seated, our waitress came over and got our drink order. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our drinks. But that wasn't a big deal since we were all catching up. We got our dinner ordered, and each course was perfectly spaced. The Food: Escargot: 5/5. Simplistic and delicious. These were packed with flavor and I was trying so hard not to order another one! Steak Frites: 5/5. My steak was cooked perfectly. And the fries? Perfection. Braised Beef Cheeks Provençale: 4/5. This dish was just a little too salty, it was almost hard to eat. It was packed with flavor, but the salt was overpowering. There were other dishes on the menu that I wanted to try and will be back to try them! read more

This restaurant was beautiful and the food was top notch. I don't often go to French restaurants or French inspired restaurants so this was a treat. Another great meal by the staff here at Chloe's. Came for dinner. I got the duck with black lentils, Doll got the veggie risotto. I have never ordered any sort of lentils before. These were fantastic, mixed with some small mushrooms and made a wonderful bed for the duck. The duck was very tender and nice crispy skin. Rich duck with an earthy bed of lentils. Excellent match up. Our neighbors joined us and he got the cassoulet, she got the same veggie risotto. They were both happy with their choices. We also got a side of fries which were wonderfully crispy with a gerkin sauce. read more

The restaurant is attached to the Canopy Hotel, which is a great hotel. The restaurant was decorated nicely, both nothing particularly French feel in my opinion. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was full but not too crazy busy. Overall, the experience was meh. The menu was small, and the quality for the price was not overly impressive. My Old Frenchman drink was probably the highlight of the dinner. I had a Steak au Poivre medium rare, which was a little more towards medium. It was served with green beans and fries. The price for the 12 oz steak was $65. My daughter had the salmon, which was okay. The puree was overpowering. The total with 2 Poutines, the steak, the salmon, and 2 drinks totaled around $156. It is a good place for drinks but I would have a meal elsewhere. read more

2 months since my first visit and my 2nd visit here shows that this place has really hit it's stride. The front of the house is really friendly, engaging and they make you feel welcomed like an old friend from the moment you walk in the door. The open view to the kitchen action is entertaining and the place just has a great vibe of people breaking bread together and having a great time socializing. That is really a nice departure from the stuffiness of many finer dining spots The central bar seems to be a highlight for many and it seems to serve the solo guest from the attached hotel well if they are simply popping in for a meal. But it was also a notable gathering place with plenty of cocktail action, social banter between the staff and the customers, and it is endearing at the end of the evening to see Chef Vincent and Manager Francois grab a seat there to have a refreshment or share a conversation. For those of you that enjoy observing the inner workings of restaurants front of house operations, this layout gets pretty high marks. It is also worth mentioning that the bar has about a dozen interesting cocktails with Frenchy influences and the various Champagne cocktails were outstanding. When they first opened, they had some hiccups with a few things on the menu not being available which was understandable but disappointing. That is no longer an issue and the full menu was available and reads like the greatest hits of the French comfort genre: Escargot, steak tartare, cassoulet, steak frites, calves liver, and a crusty baguette with salted butter are all there to represent. We started with an order of Mussels in a fantastically rich broth with a hint of curry that was so good that I almost asked for a straw in order to drain the bowl. And on a cold, midwinter Minnesota night, the warming fill of the cassoulet hits you right where its needed. Needless to say, this is a fun, casual atmosphere and one of the only places I can think of in MN that actually does French comfort food and does it well. There are some other places that may have 1 or 2 dishes on their menu that are French inspired but at Chloe by Vincent, that is all there is. Pair that up with a wine list of French labels only that are reasonably priced, an enthusiastic service staff and a Chef and Manager that work the tables with personal greetings and conversation and there is nothing to not like about this place. Chloe by Vincent feels like it has filled a great niche need in Minneapolis and it seems to be firing on all cylinders. Gauging by the happy crowds eating there last night, I know that I am not alone in being a fan. Chloe deserves all the stars here for finding a sweet spot to fill in the Minnesota dining scene and for filling it really well! read more

I loved my dining experience. The food was fantastic, ambiance nice and service was great. Food: I ordered the Skate Wings seafood entree since it was recommended by the waiter and loved it. I thought it was filling and a good portion size. The flavors were great. The escargot was fabulous; there aren't many places in MN that serve escargot in this format in my opinion. The beet salad didn't come with lettuce which is different than what I'm used to but it was a unique take on the dish. The cocktail list had a lot of great choices. Ambiance: This is a big open space with high ceilings and bigger than I pictured. The dining room is spacious and chic. The bathrooms are located outside the restaurant in the same building. You can park in the US Bank Stadium parking ramp and get part of the rate compensated by the restaurant. Service: I thought the service was great! Our server Aaron was knowledgeable about the menu and made good recommendations. He was also very friendly and personable. I'd definitely dine here again! read more

Our new fave!! We have sorely been missing Grand Café since it closed, and Chloe fills that niche perfectly. I know there are other similar restaurants, but they serve food that we are morally opposed to (baby meats, foie gras, octopus), so we tend to avoid those establishments. It was my birthday, and we went with another couple for happy hour and an early dinner. It was a Tuesday evening, so we had the dining room to ourselves. Parking at the meters across the street was free! We tried many things on the happy hour menu, and it was all amazing. We had a wonderful fromage plate with an assortment of cheeses (only $12!), grilled bread, delicious roasted hazelnuts, and an herby pear confit we all ooohed and ahhed over. I just wish we had ordered more bread because there is never enough, so pro tip, get the baguette too (made by Pâtisserie 46). Then there were fresh oysters (East and west coasts), ALSATIAN TARTE FLAMBÉE (substituted mushrooms for bacon) which was kind of like an extra tasty thin crust pizza. PANISSE CHICKPEA FRIES which were great, but what really made that dish was the black olive mint sauce, we all loved it! But don't miss the last thing on the menu, CRISPY POTATOES. Sounds so simple, but they hit the top of the potato hierarchy for me. Smashed and fried chunks of heaven. I had to stop myself from ordering more. Then we shared a Belgian endive salad (loaded with bleu cheese, toasted walnuts, and wine soaked pears), which they graciously split for us. And a scallop entrée. The scallops were perfectly seared, and the orange sauce was so subtle and so delicious. We both decided that we have to learn to cook leeks like this. So tender they still had a bit of a crisp, they were like tasting spring. Perfectly paired with tiny, sliced fingerling potatoes. Still dreaming about this meal, bravo, Vincent! read more

We recently celebrated my best friends birthday at Chloe by Vincent and had a good time. Highlights - excellent service, they made the birthday girl feel so special! Parking was easy & they validate for the ramp across the street, so it's only $4. Food wise, we loved the poutine, it was so cheesy and delicious! The duck pate and beet salad was delicious as well. The rest of the meal was just okay, the burger had lots of flavor true to its ingredients , and I didn't love the texture of my buckwheat crepe. Skip the steak tartare. For some bizarre reason they use ketchup in it and it was not good. read more

Chloe by Vincent is very cute and inviting. It's located downtown Minneapolis so be prepared for street parking. We made a reservation as they get busy pretty quickly. Our server was super awesome! So light, friendly, and attentive. We started with the bacon and caramelized onion flatbread, yum! It had the right amount of crisp and flavor without being overly salty or overpowering. Their mocktail menu was overall pretty good. I had the aranciata rossa, delicious. Our main entrees were okay. I had the steak frites and my friend ordered the curry mussels (which were sent back because they were NOT good). In place of that, she ordered the salmon. Much better choice. The asparagus and flatbread were by far the best meals of the night. I think Chloe by Vincent has a great ambiance and some decent food choices, so I'd go back to try out a few other things. read more

Even though I have four stars, I would recommend Chloe. The service was very, very good, and we had some good food: - Oysters were AMAZING. And part of the happy hour, so you should definitely visit if you are an oyster fan. - French Onion soup hit all the traditional expectations: gobs, and I mean gobs, of great Gruyère cheese brought a nutty fullness that most other onion soups miss on. Broth was a sweet onion and crouton was tasty. Highly recommend. - Gnocchi lacked texture. The Gnocchi itself were light but mushy, and the minimal amount of sliced asparagus and pepito seeds did not add the crunch to offset. Flavor was also a single note. Skip the gnocchi. - Beef bourguignon was delicious and layered. Get this instead of the gnocchi Overall, we are happy we went and would recommend. Bob Appetit! read more

Had a lovely experience dining here before a show at the Guthrie. The ambiance is warm and cozy. The service is quick and friendly. The cherry on the top is the drinks and food was superb! The old fashioned was sublime as were the scallops! Guess I was going for an orange theme with those flavors in both dishes. You wouldn't think orange goes with scallops over leeks but it was divine! We even got a quick visit from the chef. Love when they do that. If you are in Minneapolis and want a top notch experience make reservations for Chloe by Vincent. read more

This was a really disappointing dining experience. My wife and I ate at Vincent about 20 years ago, so we were looking forward to trying Chloe. First of all, the place is loud--like make the fillings of your teeth ache kind of loud. The service was fine and my cocktail was good, but the food really failed to deliver. We had the Alsatian flatbread, which was like a cheap pizza with wilted onions, weak cheese and bacon. The raw oysters were tasty. For entrees my wife got the coq au vin chicken thigh which was tough and lacked flavor. My Vincent burger had the consistency and flavor of a hockey puck. It was made with short ribs so I expected it to be full of flavor and tender. There was also supposed to be gouda cheese somewhere in it but any place I could find. Our drinks did not come until the end of dinner, which was another negative. Anyway, I cannot recommend this place. read more

We had reservations on an early evening on Thursday and glad we did because they were busy as the night went on. This used to be Bacon Social House so the layout of the restaurant is almost identical - big bar in the center of the restaurant that probably attracts hotel guests. I love French food so I was excited to try this new casual French restaurant (Dress code: we were dressed casually as we were going to a Timberwolves game right after dinner). We parked on the metered streets, but they also have $4 parking (even on event days). We ordered a bunch of things to share: couple of cocktails, steak frites, Vincent burger, French onion soup, poutine, and a dessert. Everything was good - the steak was so tender and cooked well, burger was one of the best burgers according to the birthday boy - they used smoked gouda, rich and full of flavors. French onion soup was delicious and cheesy, like super cheesy. Don't skip out on the vegetable side dish - the charred broccolini was exceptional. We also enjoyed the complimentary dessert since we were there to celebrate a birthday (you pick one dessert from the menu) - the nutella hazelnuts crepe. Overall, would come back to try other dishes. Server was also very attentive and made the dining experience more enjoyable. read more

Awwwwww I lost my pictures from the last phone update...just means that I need to go back again, right? I came here after a long night of work and wanting to have a good meal with great service and potentially, hopefully, great conversation. Chloe by Vincent delivered all of the above. Started with the potted liver mousse aned My French Onion Soup. I mean, wow. The liver mousse? I had to STOP MYSELF FROM LICKING THE POT CLEAN! It was just.... DELICIOUS! Great balance of savory, touch of refreshing sour/acid, and an herbal note. The soup had the depth of flavor I want in the broth and umami with the melty, savory, and creamy cheese and a bite from the toasted bread and onions. And then the duck confit pasta. Awwww...soo delicious! Light with the broth, yet enhancing the richness of the duck with herbal notes throughout. I just...yes...I will be back. The server was the best. She was personable and knowledgable. We bonded over her living and growing up in the southeast and my time there, exploring the food, and then the difference with Minnesotan cuisine. It was just so fun. I would go back for this server alone! In fact, I am working to see when I will be able to be back there... read more

It's been soooooo many years since I tasted the amazingness that is the Vincent Burger! In fact after falling in love with that burger on work lunches when Vincent was on Nicollet and 11th, I thought I might never enjoy its smoky gooey goodness again when they closed. I didn't realize at first that Chloe was so closely related to Vincent, so you can imagine my surprise and delight that it is and that they have the very burger on the menu! After all of that, I can honestly say the burger was as delicious as I remember it stuffed with the Smoked Gouda and beef tips. Perfectly cooked, rich but not so much that I didn't eat every bite of that large burger! Also, the fries. Their fries are a crispy and light then shoestring that is reallly tasty! I asked about a creamy dipping sauce, remembering one I'd had before, and I think they brought Bernaise (not positive) but it was delicious and I recommend those to anyone!
