We came across Chips while on vacation, and this mom-and-pop restaurant was fabulous! It has an old-school vibe and the friendliest staff ever they took such great care of us. We came for breakfast and absolutely conquered it! I ordered the chilaquiles and eggs with red sauce, and it was to die for one of the best I've ever had. Everything was made to perfection. My fiancé ordered the soup of the day and a BLC (no tomato, replaced with cheese) with extra bacon. BOMB.com! Again...made perfectly. Our friends were with us too one ordered a grilled cheese and said it hit the spot, and the other ordered carne asada and eggs and cleared her entire plate! To say the least, this restaurant was a win for us, and we'll definitely be back!

Chips Restaurant in Hawthorne is the real deal! I had Manny's Burger with onion rings, and both were absolute perfection--the burgers ( yes burgers) were juicy and flavorful, and the onion rings were crispy and golden with just the right amount of crunch. The service was top-tier--friendly, fast, and full of genuine hospitality that made me feel right at home. Parking is super convenient too, with plenty of spots in the lot and easy street parking. One of the coolest things? This spot is a slice of Hollywood history--Pulp Fiction and other iconic movies, TV shows, and commercials have been filmed right here. It's got that classic vibe you can't fake. If you're in the area, this place is a must-visit for great food and a taste of cinematic nostalgia!

What a gem!! Loved everything about our breakfast here! The food was awesome. Their gravy for their biscuits and gravy was a different flavor than the usual. It wasn't too rich, but it was flavorful and the biscuit was nice and fluffy. The home potatoes were original and fresh and the soft scrambled eggs were done to perfection. The waffles were nice and crispy on the outside and really chewing on the inside almost like a mochi waffle- so good. I couldn't resist the peach waffles as I've never heard of that before and the combination between the canned peaches and the waffles were phenomenal. The ambience, the setting the decor was beautifully done. I don't know if it was original, but it sure looked nostalgic. The place was clean and neat. Finally, the service was completely on point. You could tell our server had many years of experience. He handled every single person in the breakfast crowd plus the cash register all by himself. He came through and checked on us at least four times during our breakfast. Hands-down, I would recommend chips and I hope to get back there again real soon. Now that I think about it, it might be tomorrow!

Oh my, why haven't been here before. My son ordered the patty melt and a chocolate shake first off with the chocolate shake They use old fashioned ice cream. It's either Carnation or Thrifty ice cream and if you like your shakes on the thick side you don't have to ask. They do it. They also leave an extra chunk of ice cream at the very bottom of the metal container. We also ordered pozole and Menudo soup which you can compare to with your mother or grandma very little fat really good. Has a little spice to it but you could spice it up more. Highly recommend this place service is awesome. They're always filling up your cup of coffee or water or whatever else you have and they're coming by asking. Ambience is definitely old school from the late '50s '60s counters boost and everything else extremely clean. Even the bathroom definitely coming back. This place is going to make my rotation no places to go to.

The service was great, the prices were fair and the restaurant seemed clean. The breakfast choice I made was pretty much...meh. The waffle was ok, the eggs were ok and the sausages were greasy as can possibly be. This breakfast gutbomb followed me around for hours afterwards. I would probably have a burger or a sandwich next time but overall I say you should try this place. The googie style of the building and old diner ambiance is also worth a trip here.

Delicious food with quick and great service! Clean place with natural lighting coming in through all their windows, nice quiet music playing. Love it here!

There are a lot of great diners in LA and this is definitely one of them. It's the classic 50s style diner with a huge menu, filled with all the classics that you would expect. They have a lot of different seating options available both counter and booth. Our server was really polite and also very attentive. It was really busy when we arrived for a 10:30 AM Saturday brunch but we only had to wait a few few minutes to be seated. They have a medium sized free parking lot attached to the side but it was full when we arrived so we had to do free street parking a block away near the church. As always, I started with a cup of coffee and it's that true strong diner coffee that I love. For my meal today I chose the Chicken Fried Steak and it really hit the spot. Their gravy is not watery and it was a good sized portion. The pricing is also fair for all the items, so it really would be good for families or large groups. Overall a really delicious diner in the South Bay. I'm not in this area often, but I certainly would stop in again next time I am down that way, and would recommend to anyone else that's in the area.

Finding the entrance was a little confusing because it's very unassuming. I expected it to be on the side of the building facing the street, but it's actually tucked away in the back, facing the parking lot and the Courtyard Marriott. When we walked in, the place was packed. Keep in mind it's a very small café, so with that many people inside, it got pretty warm and felt cramped. We overheard the hostess tell the group ahead of us that the wait would be about 45 minutes. Rather than wait in such a tight space, we decided to order takeout instead. I ordered the Build Your Own Omelette: 3 eggs with spinach, onions, tomatoes, cheese, potatoes, and toast, along with the Golden Milk Latte made with turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, clove, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper, and their house-made Madagascar vanilla bean syrup. We took our food back to the car and enjoyed breakfast there while the Tesla finished charging. It ended up being much more comfortable than waiting inside. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed, but considering how busy it was and how small the restaurant is, it was understandable.

Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Note: There is a time limit for parties of 4 or larger of 1.5 hours, so please be mindful as Two Hommés gets busy from opening to close.
