El Torito is a chain, I don't know if there are any outside of California. This one is in Hawthorne near a huge mall. It is excellent. Always make a reservation, especially on the weekends or you will be waiting. Parking is easy. They have a full bar, a lot of comfortable seating and they even have Sunday Brunch. We were there, this time for dinner. As always it was great. It is a tad pricey for what you get which is traditional Mexican food. They always have specials, this time they had 35$ per person special called Dine LA. We did not get it, but it is a good deal. The service is excellent. All the staff dresses in Mexican style clothes and it is very cute. They are all super nice and you will be well cared for. We had the table side guacamole and you get a lot. My grandson loves it. For dessert we had their flan which was very good. Our mains were salads and really great combination plates. You will love this place.

Stopped by on Friday late night for dinner (08/01/25) with my boyfriend! We participated in the Dine LA special ($35 per person for a 3-couse meal). Ordered the following: - 2 Dine LA Dinner ($35 per person) = $70 which consists of: - 1 tableside guacamole - 1 flauta - 1 asada with shrimp - 1 2-item combo of tacos (one chicken and one beef) - 1 flan - 1 other dessert we got instead of the deep fried ice cream since they were out :( also ordered: - 1 mexican candy shot = $11.75 - 2 modelos ($7.75 each) = $15.50 SUBTOTAL = $97.25 SURCHARGE (?) = $3.88 TAX = $10.62 OVERALL TOTAL = $111.75 ** Also tipped $15 in cash ** It was pretty quiet on a Friday night. Additionally my drink was pretty strong/bitter. Overall we had a bunch of leftovers. I feel like one course meal of the Dine LA special is good for 2 peeps!!!! Our server Jose V was very attentive and would always circle back frequently to see if we were okay.

Visited this location on a Monday for lunch. The service seemed better at other tables but our server was not good. The food was just ok. The drinks were good . The restaurant is clean. TVs around to wanna sports and movies on TNT. No split checks for two which was odd for is couples. I will not be returning.

We came here to celebrate a family birthday and did the brunch buffet -- and honestly, I was super impressed! The brunch is about $40 per person (kids around $13) and totally worth it. They had all the classics: El Torito cheese enchiladas, bacon, sausage, an omelette station, tacos, fresh fruit -- pretty much everything you'd want for a perfect brunch spread, plus mimosas! The service was great, too. The staff was friendly, and the food stations were constantly refreshed, so everything stayed hot and fresh. We had a big group (about 30 people), and they were able to seat us all together with no issues. We brought our own cake, and the team was more than happy to help us celebrate -- they even joined in singing Happy Birthday, which made it feel extra special. All in all, it was a great experience. The food was tasty, the vibe was welcoming, and I'll definitely be back in the future, even just for a casual weekend brunch. Highly recommend!

    These new drinks were delicious!!

Everything was delicious! Our food and drinks all came out promptly. They had good music for a nice ambiance as well. Eduardo was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come again for the friendly service!

    FAJITAS DUO

I had an excellent experience. I had the shrimp and steak fajitas. They were filled with so much flavor. Probably some of the best fajitas that I've ever had. For dessert, I had the deep fried ice cream- which apparently isn't as common in restaurants as it once was. It was delicious. My family and I shared it, and I ate most of it. The chocolate wasn't the typical Hershey's chocolate syrup I think. The ice cream had coconut flakes which totally enhanced the favor. My nephew finished his pizza. My niece finished her chicken tenders. My sister enjoyed the spinach enchiladas. The rice was good. The restaurant was really clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly. Great experience.

Management has really disappointed it's not once or twice it's anytime this particular Hispanic man with glasses is the managing. Its the only time there's a wait need to wait of 10 to 14 minutes literally waiting for someone to come to the front desk to acknowledge anyone is there waiting to be seated. I feel bad for the waiters as they're looking at you and rushing attending the already see the clients! What is going on with your management you guys need to change it I've never seen it this way and I've been coming here for 20 years. With the World Cup coming, El Torito needs to step up management game. This service is not going to fly with tourism coming.

From the second we walked in, the bartender was all smiles and super friendly. It had that true local bar feel--lots of regulars, casual chatter, and a vibe that just felt easy. Yes, the music was a little loud at first, but after a bit, it blended into the background and actually added to the energy of the place. We ordered wings (multiple sets, because one round was not enough) and a burger with fries. Let me tell you--the lemon pepper wings deserve their own standing ovation. Crispy, tangy, and absolutely addictive. The burger and fries? Spot on comfort food. To top it off, it was comedy night. I went from cheering for the Dodgers to full-on belly laughs in the same night. Bonus points for having nonalcoholic options--I had a Heineken 0.0 dressed, and it was perfect. My guy was happy with his drinks too, so win-win. Honestly, this place turned into one of those fun, random experiences you don't plan but end up remembering. In an effort to pre-party before a concert in the Kia forum I looked up bars near the area that…read morewere walking distance. The top hit was this one. And I could see why, the joint had hop and hip energy, like beautiful chaos that promoted a good time. But if you go here, understand that beautiful chaos is still chaos, so do not expect proper procedure when ordering or mingling, this joint is not about that. It is more about finding the good time, while inside the jukebox, not admiring its bump and lyrics and you comfortably sit. As soon as I entered the place, I knew that this place had flavor and soul for days, like both these qualities were interwoven into a great braid that could not be untangled. Before I could take in the surroundings, I needed a drink. The time was around 630 p.m., on a Saturday night, and the place was already sort of packed. I would need luck and direct pounce energy, to find a stool to call my own. I lacked both since I never found a chair for me, myself, and I. I waited for a line to form, so I could join it and order in the bar, but no line formed. I got into a cluster of people, and jammed myself slowly to the bar. It was Ronnie who eventually served me, a beautiful and kind soul, if I ever did meet one. She first made a point to introduce herself, and then ask my name, and then my drink. It is the small things that make the chaos beautiful. When I went to get a second drink, it was later in the night, and the amorphous line became a greater clump of folks. Again, I had to maneuver, and talk to folks, as they waited. A woman asked me for a drink, she asked a few others for a drink. She did not want an alcoholic drink. When I ordered my second vodka cocktail I handed her my drink so I can sign my receipt. I did not have space in the counter to do so. After holding my drink she asked for a drink again, I did not get it for her. To participate in beautiful chaos does not require more funding than I was willing to give. By this time the crowd got more bigger. People were eating at their tables, people were sipping their drinks, and people were just buzzing and feeling the flow. I went upstairs and there was a loungy area, small but, there. This spot was full too. Where can I find a place to sit? I could not. Even when I saw some couches on the second floor vacate I did not know if these required a reservation, or if they were up for grabs. I did ask a fellow bar-goer, if I could clip part of her fit. She was wearing a jean skirt that looked like it was fashion from shipwreck netting. So the vibe produces people that are just down for a good time. I also clipped a sign that in neon words said "good vibes" this sign never lied. When I went down the stairs, this guy slapped me on a shoulder blade, harder than I could appreciate as a joke. He wanted to know if I was having a good time. His friend laughed. They were trying to create a situation where I could laugh off the moment. I took it, heard the guy until he was done, so the beuatiful chaos of this place both gives and takes. In the final tally, go this place, if you are looking to jam and get loud, cause really if you are not willing to be about that, then this bar at night time might not be for you--- cause it was just a crowd and movement ablaze!

The security at the door was very nice, and the host was welcoming. She told us we could sit anywhere since it was pretty empty, so we chose seats at the bar to watch the large screens. After we sat down, got comfortable, and started looking at the menu, the bartender came over and asked us to move to another area. She explained that the other servers did not have any tables and did not want to be the only one serving. Meanwhile, other people were also choosing to sit at the bar, which made it confusing why we were the ones being asked to move. That interaction felt frustrating and unwelcoming. When guests are told they can sit anywhere, they should not be asked to relocate for internal staffing reasons. That is something management should handle behind the scenes, not something placed on customers. It completely changed the experience for us. We each had one drink and decided to leave. Very disappointing first impression. Staff should be better trained on how to handle situations like this without making customers feel unwelcome.
