Taquito Special, Carne Asada & Cheese Enchilada, & Carnitas Taco Salad!

I usually don't leave reviews these days but my god this place definitely hit the spot, I just had to talk about it lol. So fresh, so bomb. Service is great. 10/10 for me!!!!

Enchilada&Chile Relleno plate.I never got2it cause the flautas I ordered were so YUM & fulfilling so Im eatin this 2morrow4lunch

Still super delicious. I really have to try their enchiladas lol. I am forever getting their beef flautas. I don't think I've ever tried anything else but this and their chile rellenos. Those are also good. Pricing is reasonable. Enough portion for me. Sufficient parking. Clean indoors. Pretty safe area. Customer service is good. Never had an issue in all the years I have come here. I don't live close for the past 6 years but I love coming here when I'm down here

This was a great find! The restaurant was a little small but the ambiance was authentic. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was FANTASTIC! It was delicious! The service was good nothing special. I definitely would come back

Tried the carne asada burrito and it delivered. A solid amount of asada in it made it filling. The sauce on it had a nice kick to it I don't find at most other places. Solid salsa, tasty beans and friendly people will have me coming back again.

I found this place strictly by accident but I sure am glad I did. The customer service was exceptional and the food was great! I ordered the masala I think it was called. It was pretty much a Carne Asada steak that was breaded. They came out with free chips and salsa first then with my meal I got a salad and the plate a food was massive! It was basically two steaks rice beans guacamole and flour tortillas.

Carnitas burrito!!

Good food and the service was amazing it's a little hole in the wall but the food was great! The food was so tasty and the meat was very tender and soft I was surprised how hot the food was and our server was so nice I'll definitely be going back

Ask the Community - Raul's Casa Sombrero

Are they still open? We've tried calling and even had a friend go there to check but said that the restaurant looked shut down and all the booths were stripped off the walls!

yes they are OPEN again

Did this place close, I drove by today and it appears that it is closed? Terrible loss as it is one of the BEST Mexican places around!

They had a sign on the door that said they would be opening mid January. I Stopped by last week. An employee was inside door locked I was able to get there attention. I asked if they were opening up soon? He said they had to finish the back.?

Their price for renting a space was better than most in the South Bay which I appreciated and it came with the space, tables, and beer tokens. I do wish however that their drink menu had more options, as it's essentially only a few beers and that was it. They also let you cater your own food which I appreciated. However, the day of event was not great and we did not appreciate the hospitality of the main guy we worked with. The main guy was not kind or helpful and I would not chose to host here again because of him. Besides the tables for guests to sit on which were very dirty and not cleaned of previous food scraps, we only were provided a few tables to put our own food and items on. Considering it's a party rental space I would've expected there to be significantly more tables that we could use for our event. In addition, it was a hot summer day and they only provided us with a few umbrellas after we moved our event to the outdoor space to accommodate common space, leaving our guests hot and uncomfortable. He wasn't kind when we asked for additional tables/umbrellas and he also was extremely rude to me during the party which really bothered me. A couple of friends had given me wine bottles as gifts-a very normal gift to give. And they were clearly gifts and on the gift table, not intended to be drank or used. He aggressively came up to me and told me they can't be there, to which I explained I did not bring them and they are gifts and will be taken home with me and have no intention of opening. He proceeded to continuously tell me to remove them from the property even though I stated multiple times they were gifts and not to be drank. He was rude, unprofessional, and should have not chose to share this with me as I was in the middle of socializing with my guests and by no means wanted to "deal" with the few wine bottle gifts that weren't causing any issues. Overall, the brewery is cool and everybody else was great. But I would not choose to work with them again because of the lead man and encourage him to approach future events with a kinder heart and better professionalism as I imagine manyyy people will receive wine as gifts in the future and it is not right to harass them during their event if so.

I am not much of a beer drinker. It does not fit my style. Plus, Emily Gilmore implied that it was…read morenitwit juice and Buffy devolved to a Cave person after drinking enchanted beer so these quasi-after-school specials taught me that heathens and their kin drink beer. Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!

Good Atmosphere, But Service Could Be Better…read more This was our first time visiting Sugar Monkey Brewery, and we were looking forward to trying some of their beers. Since it was our first visit, we mentioned to our server that we were a little confused by the beer menu and hoped she could explain some of the options. Unfortunately, she didn't really offer much guidance and seemed a bit uninterested, which was disappointing. We ended up ordering the Cheeky Monkey, and it was actually really smooth and enjoyable. The outdoor seating was nice, and we liked the overall atmosphere of the brewery. The beer and ambiance were good, but I think the experience would have been much better with more welcoming and helpful service, especially for first-time visitors. Hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the customer service.

We're pretty low on food" and proceeds to cover the entire bottom half of the menu (which is the pizza), leaving only the bar bites as available. So: heated up frozen pretzel was solid. And hot when delivered. The beer was tasty. Could prob warrant a fourth star for the space. But since I walked almost two miles for the pizza, and now have to solve separately for dinner, pretty disappointed. So was gonna do three stars. But Todd (the bartender) was super nice at the end, gave me the back story (busy weekend = no pizza), so redeemed the fourth star. Will prob go back to try the pizza. Just not on a Tuesday.
