We tried the taro mochi, brown butter dark chocolate chunk, s'moreo, miso cornflake, and guava cookies. And wow, every single one was incredible. Perfectly balanced flavors, not too sweet, with a crispy edge and a chewy, moist center that doesn't crumbl apart ;-) Honestly can't pick a favorite because they're all that good. If this place isn't hyped yet, it definitely should be.

I've been on a hunt for the best chewy and thick cookies in the Bay Area and I've been up and down SF, but I came to purchase these cookies at the Sunnyvale Cityline SJmade event and it was delicious!

The first time I saw Chipidee was at an event in SJ Japantown. Of course, they had a super long line, and I was super curious, but I didn't have the patience to wait, so I didn't get any cookies that day :( Well, half a year later, I came across their IG page and saw their story. To be honest, I love their clear instructions on how to place an order, but I got overwhelmed and never emailed to place an order. But then I saw they were doing a flash sale on their IG story and hurried to send a direct message with my order (it was just way more convenient for me, lol). They replied back asap to my DM and charged me on Venmo. Literally, the next morning, I went to pick up my order and found out how close they were to me, which is a good and bad thing, LOL. A little dangerous how close they are to me but I'm already planning to order more in the future, especially for events and gifting to friends :) I shared these cookies with my friends, and they all loved it as well! We didn't think we were going to finish these cookies, but they were all gone by day 2. Btw they do offer delivery! Here's the flavors I ordered: Taro Mochi, Semi Sweet Chocolate Chip, S'moreo n Cream, Salted Hojicha Milk Chocolate Toffee (this was our fav!), Burnt Almond, and Banana Lumpia. Tbh every flavor was unique and tasty! Btw thanks for the extra red velvet freebie :) Definitely check out their IG page for more details on how to order, flavors, etc. I already see the updated flavors for this week, and I'm so tempted to put in an order, but I need some self-control.

Nikkei matsuri which is an annual event in which we celebrate Sakura trees and they come to full bloom. Cherry blossoms or Sakura tree only blooms for a few weeks out of the year. These tree symbolize gratitude and reminds us to live our lives to the fullest to appreciate time. Out of all the vender stands, Chipidee immediately caught my eye because i jade a few cookie monsters in my life. I decided to buy 2 of each of their ginormous cookies as they seemed to have an assortment of unique flavors that you would not typically see at any bakery although busy, the workers remained calm and cheerful. Great positive additive and keep up the good work. Eacho cookie will come individually prepackaged with the label of what flavors the cookie is. All of their cookies remain consistent in texture. Personally i enjoyed the s'mores cookie the best as i have a pretty big sweet tooth. One flavor that stood out to me was the miso cornflakes flavor which was not my favorite as you could really taste the corn chip texture with the salty and funky taste given from the miso. Overall i do believe they have potential and have some great ideas for new flavor combinations, but would need tweaking for the perfect recipe. Keep up the enthusiasm and creativityb

Probably one of THE BEST cookies I've ever had. I had them first at a party where my friend ordered just about every flavor and let me tell you the truth.. the crowd loved each and every one of them! Fast forward 2 years, I placed an order for myself and as gifts and the service was super friendly and quick! Order via email, get a response, and pick up at their home kitchen in Berryessa. The quality of ingredients is top notch. I love how the different flavors shine through and it compliments the rest of the flavors in the cookie. For example, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the Salted Hojicha Milk Choc chip! The subtle Hojicha was the star of the cookie and the salt chocolate was the perfect pairing. My other fav was Smoreo. Taro was another one that I couldn't stop raving about. These are generously sized cookies. Perfect for any occasion! And the ease of ordering and friendly service deserves all the praise!! Thanks so much Chipidee!

A Batch Made in Heaven We first heard of and ordered from Chipidee Cookies not too long after the pandemic began when they were first getting their business off the ground. Their cookies were sensational, and the fact that they delivered straight to our door made them the perfect pandemic comfort food. The Good: *Order by email hello@chipideecookies.com but first check to see which cookies they have in stock here: https://www.chipideecookies.com/new-index *Terrific selection of really unique flavors, such as Guava, Taro Mochi, S'Moreo, Banana Lumpia--and more! They're always switching things up and adding new and exotic flavors. They used to have a Corn Cookie one that was my absolute favorite. *You can mix-and-match flavors to your hearts delight! *Free pickup or delivery within three miles of their business (they're in North SJ). *Alex, the delivery dude/head Cookie Monster/photographer extraordinaire is a good dude. I loved chopping it up with him when he'd make his deliveries. *Each cookie is individually wrapped to ensure freshness for days to come--if they last that long! #OinkOink *Each wrapper also has the ingredient list on there in case one's concerned w/ food allergies. *They take Venmo®, Zelle™, CashApp©, PayPal™ & Apple Cash® *Corporate and event catering! Fuck the wedding cake--just get a shit-ton of these bad boiz. Your guests won't miss a thing. The Meh: *Delivery used to be free within Santa Clara County, but now they charge a very reasonable 55¢/mile outside the three mile limit. *Only open Wed-Sun--so make sure you get enough to make it through some very dark Mondays and Tuesdays. :( The Ugly: *They're a big reason why I gained like 200lbs during the pandemic and now have to prepare for a quad-bypass. #fml TLDR: Why are you still reading this?! Go get some cookies, dammit! Just make sure you have a heart transplant donor ready to go. Lucky for me, I matched up perfectly with a pig! #GimmeAllTheCookiesAndNobodyGetsHurt

Thank you, Alex! Just got my first dozen delivered this morning plus a free full size sample of Masala Chai! It never hurts to ask about flavors from past month menus (asked about Mint Chocolate & Masala Chai). These were the perfect token of "thanks" for my work friends! I'd never heard of Chipidee before, such a fun name! If Alex hadn't liked two of my IG posts on Monday it would've taken much longer for me to come across the business. I spied all the incredible looking cookies and knew I had to order some prior to Thanksgiving. I ordered a dozen for $33 and there's free delivery to the South Bay! Grab a snack pack of 4 for $12, 6 for $18, or the full dozen to try more flavors. They accept Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, and Cash App. Email hello@chipideecookies.com 3 days in advance to place your order: amount of cookies, flavors, when & where (pick up/delivery Thursday-Sunday in SJ/South Bay). Alex or staff will text you the time frame they will deliver the day of and when they arrive (upon request?). Super impressed with the professional style of printed labels including all the necessary details, delivery address too! Here's what I got: 2 white choco macadamia 2 milk choco 2 Cookie Monster 2 ube cheesecake Pumpkin Pecan Smoreo Guava Burnt Almond *Free Masala Chai --Post from my IG-- I was able to try: Cookie Monster, Guava, Burnt Almond, & Masala Chai in that order. COOKIE MONSTER: ooo I was totally feeling the whole English toffee & crunchy cereal vibe with almonds & chocolate. LOVE the color!! I gave away the 2nd one before taking photos. GUAVA: Porto's guava strudel!! Tastes just like the filling! BURNT ALMOND: I was initially going to give this away but read about customers comparing it to Peters' Bakery burnt almond cake. I thought it had good flavor but of course not the soft crumbly cake texture. MASALA CHAI!! Leave it to the free one to impress me most! One bite and all these fragrant spices attacked my tastebuds so fast I thought I'd transported to an Indian household sipping tea. True story, I did have chai each time my friend Sophie and I worked on decor for our friend Swati's wedding last year. Please offer Masala Chai next month! I will order a whole bunch to giveaway for Christmas. The cardamom, cloves, & pepper just create the perfect "in your face" flavor profile. Whoa! Ingredients are all listed on the back! Cookies are baked in a home kitchen (see permit # on label). Support local! Thank you again, Alex!

What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall, minor flaws but nothing major. (3 stars): Good -- decent, acceptable, but there's room for clear improvement. The service is great, and they make your drinks very fast. The taste is very consistent, and they do have a large menu with lots of different items other than matcha. My only downside is the variety of matcha over the recent year. From last year and this year, the menu for matcha has not changed much, and it seems like I get the same taste every time I go. While the first time was enjoyable, after it just gets repetitive. I love Izumi, but I really wish there was a rotation between drinks.

Both times I've gone were half an hour before closing and the store was packed. The first time I got the Ha Noi Mist and the Lychee Rose, the second time I got the Ha Long Sunset and a limited stock warm specialty dessert with pandan and ube dumplings in a ginger coconut sauce. The Ha Noi Mist's ingredients sounded the most aligned with my personal preferences and I got the Lychee Rose to try something different but refreshing on a warm summer night. I was hesitant to get the Ha Long Sunset since I'm not a fan of jackfruit but Eric voted for it, and also the dumplings since a ginger coconut sauce sounds weird but he said that's what he wanted. Sipping che through a straw definitely beats spooning it. Make sure to thoroughly mix the drink and crush up the ice a bit before indulging. On my first visit I didn't notice the kiosk and ordered with the cashier so I was confused at how I would know when my order is ready because I didn't get a number or a receipt, but I later noticed the screens displaying that information on the wall. I'm a big fan of pandan jelly. The red pearls can be good but can sometimes have a bit of a crunchy chew in the center. Young coconut has a good flavor but a texture that isn't my favorite. I did not like the jackfruit in the Ha Long Sunset, but the flavor wasn't strong enough to ruin the whole dessert. I feel like che is a dessert that is not necessarily expensive or time consuming to produce, and the milk tea/fruit tea prices here are definitely on the pricey end given their component ingredients. Yes I would revisit, especially when I need dessert late, but I feel that making che at home could be the cost-effective alternative.

We walked into a clean, modern space with a casual café feel that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The shop focuses on creative variations of bingsu with toppings ranging from fruit to chocolate, matcha, and other dessert-inspired flavors, and the layout encourages lingering over a shared dessert rather than rushing through a quick stop. The biggest highlight is the texture of the shaved ice itself. The ice is extremely soft and light, melting quickly while still holding the flavors from the toppings and condensed milk. We ordered the Injeolmi Sulbing, which showcases the more traditional side with nutty flavors, and the combination of the fine ice, chewy rice cake, and nutty powder created a dessert that felt both refreshing and satisfying. The Tiramisu and Chocolate Brownie Sulbing turn it into a much more indulgent experience, with richer flavors that feel closer to a full dessert than a light treat. The presentation is impressive, with each bowl arriving looking carefully composed, and the layers of toppings are distributed well enough that you get a good mix in every spoonful. The portions are also a major part of the appeal. A single bingsu is easily shareable, making it a good choice for groups or anyone looking for a dessert to split after a meal. We found that sharing worked well, as the portion was generous enough to satisfy two people without feeling like we were missing out. Beyond bingsu, they also offer items like toast and other sweet treats, which give the menu more variety and make it a place you can visit even if you are not in the mood for shaved ice. The main thing to keep in mind is that the experience depends heavily on the flavor you choose. Some versions rely more on the toppings for their flavor, while others feel more balanced throughout. The presentation is impressive, but certain options may feel less satisfying if you expect every bite to have the same intensity as the first. The fruit-based versions, for example, rely on the freshness of the fruit to carry the dessert, while the chocolate and tiramisu versions have a more consistent richness from the base itself. Sulbing is a great spot for trying Korean-style shaved ice. The unique texture, large portions, and variety of flavors make it stand out from typical dessert shops, especially if you enjoy lighter desserts with creative toppings. The balance of refreshing and indulgent options across the menu gives you room to explore different styles on repeat visits, and the quality of the ingredients makes each bowl feel considered and well composed.

The reviews for the drinks are very mixed, specially durian madness. so I was nervous to order it. I chose the milk tea instead . It had chunks of fruit and salted foam at the top. 25% sweetness, less ice was perfect!!! Also tried the hambalang milk tea. It was a good black milk tea with jelly. Nothing too unique. Durian crepes were light , had a good balance of durian and the whip cream .

I enjoyed my durian desserts. It was good, I'm not a fan of a lot of jellies in my drinks. I liked how it was made with coconut milk, durian, and jellies. I just would like my drink to be thicker and less jellies. But, it was still delicious. My sis ordered a Milo drink and wasn't a fan of it. My other sis got a strawberry matcha. She had no complaints. My mom enjoyed her taro dessert but wasn't a fan of the taro, durian, and salted egg. I thought it was overly sweet for my taste. We ordered extra drinks to offer to the monks (there were more than I expected)..oops! It was a warm day and we were all excited to be there. It was overall a great day and to have a place that was had unique Vietnamese drinks was a plus!
