I've been following this company on instagram and I'm so happy I got to try them! There was a pop up at Lookout Coffee on a Saturday morning. I went around 11 and they were already sold out of one kind of cookie! But he offered me a secret cookie so I ofcourse had to get that too. The cookies are super unique flavors like miso cornflake and taro mochi. I had to get all of them since I couldn't pick just one. The pineapple whip was fresh with chunks of pineapple! All of them had super good texture, chewy consistency, and nice flavors! Overall will def buy again! The owner was super friendly and the cookies were baked the morning of which I love! These have to be some of the best cookies I have ever had. I went to their popup and tried the Pineapple Whip, Miso Cornflake, Taro Mochi, and Guava cookies. Alex was also very friendly and clearly loved being there! My favorites were the Pineapple Whip and Guava. The Pineapple Whip cookie had such good pineapple flavor with real pieces of pineapple. The Guava cookie had pieces of guava paste and was less sweet, which was perfect. The Taro Mochi was probably the least sweet out of the options and had a great mochi texture. The first time I saw Chipidee was at an event in SJ Japantown. Of course, they had a super long line, and I was super curious, but I didn't have the patience to wait, so I didn't get any cookies that day :( Well, half a year later, I came across their IG page and saw their story. To be honest, I love their clear instructions on how to place an order, but I got overwhelmed and never emailed to place an order. But then I saw they were doing a flash sale on their IG story and hurried to send a direct message with my order (it was just way more convenient for me, lol). They replied back asap to my DM and charged me on Venmo. Literally, the next morning, I went to pick up my order and found out how close they were to me, which is a good and bad thing, LOL. It's been awhile since I had Chipidee's cookies. I had an urge for cookies. I can't recall how many times I ordered from them but I do remember my favorite being the S'mores. What they have this month I ordered their kahlua cookies and cream, maple pecan and salted hojicha milk toffee. The kahlua was good. There was a subtle taste of the kahlua but what makes up for it is how crispy the cookies was and chunky. I haven't had the chance to eat the other two yet. Nikkei matsuri which is an annual event in which we celebrate Sakura trees and they come to full bloom. Cherry blossoms or Sakura tree only blooms for a few weeks out of the year. These tree symbolize gratitude and reminds us to live our lives to the fullest to appreciate time. Out of all the vender stands, Chipidee immediately caught my eye because i jade a few cookie monsters in my life. I decided to buy 2 of each of their ginormous cookies as they seemed to have an assortment of unique flavors that you would not typically see at any bakery although busy, the workers remained calm and cheerful. Great positive additive and keep up the good work. Eacho cookie will come individually prepackaged with the label of what flavors the cookie is. All of their cookies remain consistent in texture. Personally i enjoyed the s'mores cookie the best as i have a pretty big sweet tooth. One flavor that stood out to me was the miso cornflakes flavor which was not my favorite as you could really taste the corn chip texture with the salty and funky taste given from the miso. Probably one of THE BEST cookies I've ever had. I had them first at a party where my friend ordered just about every flavor and let me tell you the truth.. the crowd loved each and every one of them! I love a classic, soft, & chewy cookie and Chipidee delivered. They offer classic flavors but also Asian-inspired flavors, which were my favorite. Of the 6 flavors I tried, the most memorable for me are the Pineapple Whip and Guava. The pineapple cookie reminded me of a Taiwanese pineapple cake but even pillowier and cloud-like. The guava had a nice, strong tropical guava flavor. I hope they come up with more fruity flavors because those were so good! I ordered a dozen cookies. A half dozen for me and a half dozen for my daughter. What a treat!!! I ordered Guava, Pistachio, Pineapple, S'mOreo, Milk Chocolate Chip, and Burnt Almond. Instead of Milk Chocolate, my daughter wanted the Dark Chocolate Cookie. All of the cookies were delicious and I would definitely reorder all of them. I've found my new cookie place finally, and they deliver which gives me even more incentive to order! I emailed Alex and he was quick to answer. They rotate their flavors so you never get bored and I love that the size to price ratio is good. The cookies were beautifully packaged, and all in tact when delivered, you can tell they just put so much pride and care in thier work. Chipidee cookies weren't super chewy but a bit more cakelike with a gooey interior without being overly sweet. I'm really picky with my desserts and there wasn't a cookie I didn't like. My top 3 would be the salted dark chocolate ,guava and the salted peanut butter caramel. Salted dark - had large chunks of dark chocolate and the perfect amount of saltiness that you could accidentally finish the whole thing without noticing. I had the second one the next day and it was just as good, still super soft, I can't comment on day 3 because theyd never last that long. PB caramel had lots of salted peanuts, peanut butter chunks and chewy bits of caramel. Every bite had something new and I could easily devour a half dozen in a sitting with some hot tea. the Guava cookie is something Ive been searching for in bay area guava cupcakes. It has chewy jam-like bites of guava and is floral enough without being having a superficial flavor. Cookies and cream tasted like what I wish Oreo would be. I got to try some of Chipidee's cookies at Nikkei Matsuri last weekend, and they're so good! I like how their flavors are unique and Asian-inspired. I tried the guava, s'moreo 'n cream, miso cornflake, and taro mochi, and they were all incredible! The cookies are thin but soft and chewy, and they stayed soft for five days stored in an airtight container . A little on the expensive side for the size of the cookies (I believe it was $4.50 per cookie), but I'm guessing the more unique flavors, and thus greater variety of ingredients, contributes to that. I remember having Chipidee Cookies for the first time like it was yesterday, well I mean I had it for the first time just last year. BUT, let me just start by saying I'm by no means a sweet tooth or a dessert addict or even a dessert connoisseur. I found out about Chipidee cookies from an Instagram foodie friend who VOUCHED on her life that these cookies would change my life EVEN knowing fully well that I was adamantly against sweets ESPECIALLY cookies. After many nights of contemplating what my friend told me, I decided it was time to see what the hype about these cookies were, so one day I decided to slide into none other than the owner himself Alex's dm. In my entire life I have NEVER placed an order for food with some stranger via instagram DM, and to add, I've NEVER paid this much for COOKIES in my entire life. I was SO doubtful about starting this cookie journey with some licensed home baker on Instagram not knowing if he will drug me or even deliver the cookies at all. So let me paint you a story about the Chipidee cookies journey from the beginning in a clients perspective. First you go to his Instagram or his website https://www.chipideecookies.com/new-index and look at the flavor of the month, a few flavors rotate monthly and a few stay throughout the year. Then you will email him how many cookies you want 4,6, or 12 cookies with how many of which flavor you want. You put in your address and depending on distance for first 3 miles he does free contactless home delivery or if its beyond 3 miles its $.55 cents every additional mile. Then you pay him via venmo, Zelle, Cashapp, apple cash, and paypal. Then boom you wait until the cookies are baked on the day you choose and he will drop it off in a ninja fashion and then dm you on instagram or email a photo of the cookies right at your door step, and in an instant Alex is magically gone no where to be seen this sneaky guy. Ok, lets talk about his AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS COOKIES. I've had a FAIR share of flavors and I've paid for every single one HAPPILY. Ube Cheese Cake: Quite possibly my favorite still to this day, and although not permanently on the menu, it makes PLENTY of apperances. The ube has a strong flavor, the texture is soft and bouncy compared to the other cookies! Guava: I was told this was a personal favorite among many and tends to be on the menu the whole year. The guava had a slow build up of flavor as I took a bite, i noticed immediately that the texture of this cookie was gritty and kinda crumbles apart like stand, the more I chewed the more guava flavor came out! Ruberry: The ruberry had a faux tart to it, at first I thought it was gonna be sour, but it quickly transitioned to semi sweet and was pleasantly very berry. Salted Chocolate Caramel: This one shocked me the most, I loved how chocolately it was, the salt was seamless without making a strong presence. The caramel was like chewing on taffy "Chefs kiss" to Alex on this S'moreo: I LOVED how the marshmallow was melted and fused into the cookie, it helped balance and spread it around with each bite cause im not generally a fan of marshmallows. Thai Tea: First time having a thai tea cookie? HELL YEAH, it was so interesting to taste the thai tea leaves in a cookie, I wasn't sure how this was gonna taste, but it made me so happy, and I ate it all so quickly. Peanut, Peanut, Peanut Butter Cookie: I LOVE anything peanut butter, and this cookie has rescess pieces FUSED inside of it, HOW can you say no to this bad boy? Taro Mochi Cookie: ok, im a sucker for Taro and mochi... so when you combine the bounciness of mochi with a strong taro flavor inside of a cookie, you're left with the most heavenly bite of all time... Toffee, Hazelnut, expresso: WOAH, is what I would describe toffee, hazelnut, expresso... Its super nutty in flavor and everything is so intense, if you LIKE coffee you'd love this rendition of a cookie. Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie: I'm a big chocolate mint chip ice cream guy, and when I saw it in a cookie, I was curious about it and I couldn't say no to it... Well as you can see, over the year I've tasted SEVERAL different flavors, and I haven't had one of his cookies in over a year now and I've missed out on probably 20-30 new flavors, but let me just tell you, I'm a believer in Chipidee cookies. I am a cookie MONSTER. I have tried them all. Crumbl cookies, insomnia cookies, my local bakeries here in Chico such as the cookie shop, and none have compared to this utter delight of a bakery. I tried about a half a dozen cookies and they all blew my utter mind! I'm well overdue for leaving a review! I found out about Chipidee Cookies through a coworker who ordered for an event and since then I've been hooked! I've ordered from them multiple times for several occasions and each time they do not disappoint! There are so many different flavor options and each one has tasted great- not overly sweet and perfect balance of flavors (guava, pistachio, Smoreo, salted toffee chocolate chips are a few faves!) Yeah, I was looking for a places or store where I can get delicious cookies, something different to satisfy the craving. I came across this Chipidee Cookies with 5-star rating. At first, I was hesitant to try it. But I went ahead and order most of the flavors and picked them up yesterday. I was not sorry that I did, as my husband being a picky one when it comes to cookies was so impressed. Both of us were jaw dropped how delicious the cookies are, not even so sweet not like other cookies you can taste the sugar. This one is different, for some reason you can taste more of the flavor and it's chewy that will satisfy your craving. I can share this experience and happiness even though we have tried only 4 flavors so far out of 9 flavors that we ordered. We're still saving the rest to enjoy for later. Excellent and innovative cookies and a great overall experience. We ordered over a hundred cookies for a volunteer appreciation event and ordering was easy, there were plenty of flavors, and the delivery and packaging of the cookies were spot on. The owner was professional as well as gracious. Everyone loved it and many were considering what they could order for. Guava cookie was the best in my opinion, though all were very good. How has no-one else figured out to put Guava paste in a cookie before? It was tender and rich and flavorful. A must try in my opinion. read more
