The pumpkin burnt almond cake was so good. The cake was so soft and light with a wonderful pumpkin flavor that reminds me of fall. The frosting and custard filling paired perfectly with the pumpkin cake. The caramelized almonds covered the entire outer cake and offered a nice flavorful crunch. The whole thing works perfectly. The canvas is a creamy white frosting, the base wrapped with flowing grass icing and white and yellow flower fondant. A classic whimsical Winnie and Piglet are nestled in the grass. As you make your way to the top of the cake, there's a "Hunny" jar with overflowing honey icing spilling over the side, and little fondant bees enjoying the bountiful honey. Perched at the top next to the honey jar is a chocolate yellow honeycomb, a perfect touch to this artful cake. The cake was an absolute hit with guests, and a perfect centerpiece. Then it came time to cut the cake... which felt so wrong but also so so right. The cake cut smoothly and was impeccably moist. Inside was a chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse filling. It was as lovely and delicious on the inside as it appeared on the outside. Infinity out of 10, can't recommend Marvel Cake enough!
