However, it was really difficult to communicate with her as she doesn't always respond to emails in a timely matter. At times, I would have to double email her just to receive a response. During our ordering process via email, my dog had to have an emergency surgery and I missed the 48 hour period to pay and confirm my order. I explained the situation to her and she wasn't exactly the most understanding and told me she could only complete half of my order. Also, she holds a $25 fee, which can be refunded if you return the tower after usage but getting the fee back can take weeks. I returned my tower 2 weeks ago and emailed her upon doing so and am still waiting for my refund. The macaron tower I ordered was cute but given how stressful the ordering process was, I'm not sure I'd return or recommend her to friends.

So, I decided to remove the cake from outside refrigerator (you can pick out which cake from the glass front refrigerator) so that the lady did not touch the cake I picked out. I went to the front to pay for the cake. The same lady was about to touch the cake but I pulled the cake away and gently told her to wash her hands. She did so after. I can't imagine how many times she did not wash her hands before handling food and bakery in this establishment. I like this place for their bakery but afraid of their sanitary/hygienic practice here. Amanda P: your staff definitely did chew gum. I was there and saw in person. You were not there to see. Please manage and practice safe hygiene practice for your employees. This is not the first time either. Unsafe food practice can make people sick.

When we've brought it to social gatherings in the past, it's also always a hit. Their other desserts, like their lemon bars, french napoleon, and turtle cheesecake, are also major hits. So when it was time for my wedding, I knew I had to get my cake from them! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They offer cake tasting boxes that include their most popular flavors. However, we had a specific taste profile in mind and asked if they could custom make the samples for us - they said yes without hesitation and didn't charge us extra! The samples were delicious and the pickup process was easy. We went with a ribbon cake (chocolate and vanilla) with fresh strawberries, whipped cream filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting. I also had a very specific vision for my wedding cake - I wanted a detailed three-tier cake with buttercream vintage flowers. We also ordered a plain sheet cake with the same flavors to ensure that we had enough slices for our guests. I worked with Fariba during the ordering process and they were great. It was covered in chocolate and filled with custard, and it was just the right sweetness and not too sweet. The cake was not enjoyable; to be fair, this might or might not be due to personal taste. It was a 3-layer vanilla cake filled with lemon mousse, covered in buttercream and white chocolate bark pieces, and topped with 10 blueberries. This flavor can be found on their website catalog. I don't know if this is typical for this bakery, but the cake was heavy, claggy, and way too sweet. The lemon mousse tasted incredibly strange, as if it were artificial or maybe had some kind of herb or weird flavoring added. The less said about the buttercream, the better. BLEH. The white chocolate was quite good. I saw they had a wide variety of cake offerings, but I don't think I'd want cake from here again. I might get the choux pastry again.
