I thought macarons would be the perfect sweetness yet also keeping it classy choice of dessert. I placed the order on Monday for Monday but unfortunately, wine night got moved to Tuesday. Catherine mentioned same day orders are usually not accepted but has extras for me. That was sooo nice of her!! I did ask if it was okay to pick up the next day instead so I guess it worked out in a way. Orders and pick ups are super easy. Ordered through the app and selected a time for pick up. Delivery is an option as well over a certain price. Not a store, just a quick pick up that was easy. Roasted Black Sesame Signature Nori Double Chocolate Yuzu Citrus ALL were so tasty! I don't even know which is actually my "favorite" because they were all so good in their own way. Yuzu stood out because of the citrus which I really enjoyed. 10/10 would recommend!! Cat Cat's Nom Noms is *not* an in-store bakery, but a home-based business. Cat's goods are exceptionally good, and we have had pretty much all of her different macaron flavors. She also has cookies which are to die for. Her chocolate chip/wafer cookies are fantastic! She has custom made macaron designs for us, including Warriors theme and graduation themes. I highly recommend her goodies. She even individually wrapped the macarons for my son's graduation during Covid! You know you'll get fresh baked treats every time, and we really enjoy her goods. I ordered from Cat Cat's for my daughter's Sweet 16. Since COVID kinda ruined her chances of having a big blow out party, I compensated a bit by ordering her two dozen macarons. Let me just start this by saying I'm NOT a fan of macarons, there's just something about the the texture that kills me. But not these!!! The texture was light and airy and the fillings were perfection. I ordered a dozen of the chef's choice, which came with black sesame (savory and sweet), vanilla (the sweetest of all the flavors), and chocolate (straight up fudge or ganache in the middle). I also ordered a dozen custom shapes with yuzu (lemony and refreshing). She also has matcha, nori, and Thai tea right now, which I think may need to be ordered soon. I would have been happy with these regardless, but I was super happy to be able to support a local small business. There's no storefront, so you have to order in advance and pick up from her front porch. The boxes were in a cooler with ice, so no issues with overheating even though it was a pretty warm day. If you haven't scrolled through her Instagram page, you have to; all of her designs are so adorable. She happened to have a cute egg design that was perfect because of family joke, so I ordered those with a slight modification and my daughter loved them. After seeing so many great reviews on Yelp I definitely wanted to give these a try. Catherine was really quick to respond to questions and inquiries and it was easy setting up the order and picking them up. I got a variety pack with nori, thai tea, and black sesame. I LOVE the nori. I was so pleasantly surprised at how well this tied together. It definitely has a wow flavor to it and I definitely will be wanting more in the future. The seaweed flavor is very obvious and though the soy sauce buttercream sounds weird it actually really helped accentuate the seaweed flavor and it tied together really well. Think along the lines of salted caramel. Black sesame was another win. I like how strong the flavor was without being overly sweet. I think there was a bit more salt added to try to tone down the sweetness and bring out the flavor and I dig it. I would say it's just exactly how you would imagine a black sesame macaron to be. I was a little disappointed with the thai tea. I didn't really get any thai tea flavor but it really tasted more like fudge chocolate to me. I probably won't be getting this one again. Together we tried the black sesame, nori, thai tea and pomelo. Black sesame- rich and nutty in flavor. Great balance of toasted black seasame flavor. Nori- by far the most complex macaron I have ever tasted. A complex mixture of savory and sweet, it bursted with umami in each bite. Thai tea- my favorite. If you are a tea lover, you must try this. The tea flavor is prominent without being stringent or bitter. Not overly sweet either. Wished the boyfriend didn't eat an entire one.... Pomelo- buttery, sweet with a hint of fresh fruity tartness. I received the Lunar New Year Gift Box (black sesame, nori, pomelo, and thai tea) from a friend. The macarons were delicious and I loved how the pomelo macarons were made to look like a rooster for the year of the rooster! My favorite was the black sesame macaron. They instantly disappeared from the box and into my happy tummy. Although, I did let my husband sample a small bite (against my wishes). I also enjoyed the other flavors and my husband liked the nori one the most. I was a bit hesitant to try to nori but I was pleasantly surprised. I had planned on visiting this place after seeing it on Yelp, however, upon closer inspection of the map and a perusal of their website, I found out that this bakery has no storefront. The Yelp page misled me into thinking that it was a bakery, and I had planned a special trip to come here. I initially stumbled upon the booth for Cat Cat's Nom Nom at the Stanford Tresidder Farmer's Market (Tuesdays, 10am-2pm) and the adorably decorated macaroons caught my attention. The flavors also sounded great (Thai Tea, Black Sesame, Banana, Mango, Mint Chocolate, and one more - maybe Vanilla?) so I purchased 5 (all except mint chocolate) for $11 and the owner/baker added in an extra cookie (premium chocolate chip). I had fun sending people pictures of my cute cookies, but I was completely taken aback when I tasted them - they were AMAZING! Definitely the best macaroons I've ever had. We ordered these macarons for our bestie's baby shower since the yelp reviews were so great. The pics were so cute I was super excited! However, what we got was not so great. She sent us pics a few days before the event and we weren't too thrilled with how they looked so sent her back some feedback. Bad news was she was showing us pics of the final product and she didn't have time to make another batch. They all looked so different! She said she tried to make each one unique......And they were made days 3-4 days before the event, that's not fresh! People at the shower asked us if we made the macarons ourselves-not a good sign after paying $30/dozen. We were super disappointed, they were not too cute and stale.
