    Custom shape with yuzu filling
    Emma S.

I ordered from Cat Cat's for my daughter's Sweet 16. Since COVID kinda ruined her chances of having a big blow out party, I compensated a bit by ordering her two dozen macarons. Let me just start this by saying I'm NOT a fan of macarons, there's just something about the the texture that kills me. But not these!!! The texture was light and airy and the fillings were perfection. I ordered a dozen of the chef's choice, which came with black sesame (savory and sweet), vanilla (the sweetest of all the flavors), and chocolate (straight up fudge or ganache in the middle). I also ordered a dozen custom shapes with yuzu (lemony and refreshing). She also has matcha, nori, and Thai tea right now, which I think may need to be ordered soon. I would have been happy with these regardless, but I was super happy to be able to support a local small business. There's no storefront, so you have to order in advance and pick up from her front porch. The boxes were in a cooler with ice, so no issues with overheating even though it was a pretty warm day. If you haven't scrolled through her Instagram page, you have to; all of her designs are so adorable. She happened to have a cute egg design that was perfect because of family joke, so I ordered those with a slight modification and my daughter loved them. I was able to customize the design through the order process, but I assume that more complicated designs would need more communication. We will absolutely be ordering from Cat Cat's again

Mother's Day boxed flower macaron with cute wrapping and live flower - very cute!

Again - here we are and it's Mother's Day weekend. Little man couldn't wait to give me this box. He wanted first dibs on it. Could not say no to this sweet face. Thank you CCNN. My son and I dusted the whole box. Deliciousness!

Amazing product and customer service. I texted on a Thursday evening asking if I could have macarons made for Saturday pickup (super last minute on my part). I got almost an instant response from Catherine and she was so professional and accommodating. I only needed a few macarons as I'm using these for toppers on my daughter's cake and although my order was quite small, she was so kind and fulfilled my order. She texted me before my pickup time to let me know my order was ready for pickup anytime. I can't wait to order more macarons.

Ordered Macaron's for my daughters 30th birthday party favors. Ordered 3 flavors- sesame seed, matcha and double chocolate with the number 30 on each one of them. I never ordered from Cat Cat's Nom Nom before but so happy I took a chance. They were so delicious. Not too sweet like most macaron's. Loved the sesame and double chocolate. Husband loved the Matcha the best. Thank you.

Thai tea, nori, and black sesame!
    Kelly Y.

After seeing so many great reviews on Yelp I definitely wanted to give these a try. Catherine was really quick to respond to questions and inquiries and it was easy setting up the order and picking them up. I got a variety pack with nori, thai tea, and black sesame. I LOVE the nori. I was so pleasantly surprised at how well this tied together. It definitely has a wow flavor to it and I definitely will be wanting more in the future. The seaweed flavor is very obvious and though the soy sauce buttercream sounds weird it actually really helped accentuate the seaweed flavor and it tied together really well. Think along the lines of salted caramel. Black sesame was another win. I like how strong the flavor was without being overly sweet. I think there was a bit more salt added to try to tone down the sweetness and bring out the flavor and I dig it. I would say it's just exactly how you would imagine a black sesame macaron to be. I was a little disappointed with the thai tea. I didn't really get any thai tea flavor but it really tasted more like fudge chocolate to me. I probably won't be getting this one again. Overall, I am super impressed with the customer service, the cute design of the macarons, and I would highly recommend trying the nori. I swear you won't be disappointed.

    Ballet shoe macarons

Catherine was Very responsive and suggested the design when I requested ballet shoes macaron. The cookies turned out looking and tasting great. Easy ordering, payment, and pick up.

The space feels super cozy and service was friendly. They even mentioned their Burnt Almond Cake has always been their bestseller. First bite tasted heavenly. This had more stronger almond and Italian rum flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the sugared almond slivers coating. The custard was absolutely generous, creamy, and divine. I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. Their version definitely has more custard, which I personally enjoy... but this may be too sweet for the older Asian parents family. I'd love to come back to try their cookies and other pastries next time. Their Burnt Almond Cake is to die for and would love to buy another one when I'm in the area. As if they'd been sitting a couple of days. The workers were quite friendly and I asked a bit about their cakes. They said the cakes are not freshly made and they typically bake when they're running low. But it sounded like things can sit around for upwards of a few days.

I ordered an apple croissant, banana chocolate croissant, kouign-amann, baguette sandwich, and an iced mocha. It took a while for my breakfast to arrive. The iced mocha was warm because the ice had melted, but it was easy enough to fix with ice from my freezer. I'm pretty sure it had no coffee in it, just oat milk and hazelnut dark chocolate, which was perfect in my book. I drank it fast. It was my first time trying a kouign-amann, and I'm still not sure what all the fuss is about. After a couple of bites I moved on to the apple croissant, which had almond cream and a cinnamon apple compote in it. It was delicious, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. Next was the banana chocolate croissant. I was disappointed when I cut it in half and saw how little chocolate there was inside of it, but once I tasted it I realized it was just right. The bananas and almond cream were very, very sweet. It was scrumptious with powdered sugar and sliced almonds on top. Later in the day I tried the baguette sandwich, which had Brie, sliced apples, jambon, arugula, mustard, and garlic aioli on it. It was good at first, but then I had to remove the Brie because it overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. The apple tasted great, but I pretty much love anything with apples on it. All in all it was an interesting breakfast and I'd gladly return to try more of their sandwiches and desserts.

As for flavor the Fleur de Pistache was good - texture was great but I do wish it had a heavier pistachio flavor. The Mango croissant was crispy and fresh. Both items weren't overly sweet which is what I look for in pastries/desserts so I appreciate that. I didn't get a coffee this time around so I can't speak on that, but I'll be back again to try the coffee and their other pastries. Overall, it was a great experience and worth the visit!

It was near 5pm. I walked in and the place was empty. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me. I asked for a strawberry smoothie, then walked around to survey all the baked goods. It's a small bakery with lots of trays of individually packaged cakes and pastries. The smell was very pleasant and comforting. Using a flat basket (or tray) I grabbed a few selections. I picked 2 "Heart Pies" that resembled my favorite French Butterfly Cookies. Also 2 pound cakes. The total rang up to just over $21. There's some small tables for enjoying your purchases there, but I took my items to go. The icy cold fruit smoothie was very good and very cold! Not too sweet, it had a natural strawberry taste. The Heart Pies were good and fresh. But the Pound Cakes were probably "day old." I noticed there's no dates or "best by" tags on the packages. It's a nice place to visit, and I will return again. The items were in generic packaging without labels, so take a pic of the items you like so can order when visit next time. While my family enjoyed all the items, I really enjoyed the black sesame studded puffy rolls that I think were made with rice flour. There was a large group of older Asian ladies, including one who brought their lap dog, enjoying good conversations in their native language with their baked goods and tea or coffee. Another gentleman was taking a video call to help decide the best cake to buy. Will add this bake shop for a place to have a coffee meeting and to favorite in Too Good To Go.

Some of them don't even go to any other bakery besides this one and as such, I was excited to try their pastries. I got a combination of both basic items such as their croissant and their more decorative items such as their Paris Brest. The fundamental difference between American pastries and their French counterparts is that the latter are much less heavy and sweet and in that sense, Maison Alyzee does a good job. However, that quality really isn't that important to me unless I'm making baked goods at home or having them at a friend's. When it comes to a bakery, I care more about nuanced flavors, tastes, and textures and in those aspects, this place didn't really blow me away. To put it this way, I would rather travel to Midwife and the Baker and have one of their croissants at a cheaper price even if it may be more of a sugar bomb. I was actually contemplating knocking off another star because of how much the pastries cost an arm and a leg (almost $10+ for some of the individual items). In the end, I decided against it because this bakery is the first I've visited where the pastries both look nice AND taste good (Paris Baguette and Alexander's Patisserie, take note). Overall, this place is good if you are looking for pastries that both look and taste nice. Perhaps my palate is just not sophisticated enough but I just don't get any unique taste that warrants them being the most authentic French patisserie in the area. Personally, I would visit Midwife, Craftsman, and (soon) Arsicault in Palo Alto to get a more "quality' pastry.
