My wife and I went to Chili Peppers last night. The food was great and we want to go again. I had the pulled pork chimichanga and she had the enchiladas. The kitchen was fast and the service was great with the servers covering each other and the hostess helping out. Always a good sign when they pool tips. I would go so far as to call the place rustic but this isn't fine dining. Not as good as La Esperanza is NJ but best Mexican I have had in OBX so far. read more

On a cold January night the selections of places to eat in Kill Devil Hills is slim. My husband and I finally located an open restaurant, and boy am I glad we did! We ordered the crab dip to start out with. Delicious!!! I had the shredded chicken chimichanga with chimichurri sauce and my husband has the seafood enchiladas. This was the best meal we ate on our entire trip!! I wish we lived closer. Looking forward to out return and will be telling all of our friends to stop in!! read more

Excellent sausage and gravy. Different but excellent. The pancakes were great as well. Lastly, they were open during the off season!

A Perfect Lunch! My wife and I stopped here for lunch on a whim. Just passing by and it looked like a nice casual bar/café. I had a hankering for a fish sandwich, and got just what I was looking for. It was delicious, moist and tasty, with perfect French fries to complement. My wife got a Cuban sandwich that she loved, with "frizzled" onions (fried, battered onion strings). The staff was very friendly, and even the owner introduced himself and told us about his history of starting the restaurant over 20 years ago. All in all, a terrific place that we highly recommend. Yummy. Portions for breakfast are a great size. Had to take 1/3 home. Yummy. Breakfast tamale was good but the seafood omelet was great. Lots of shrimp and crab. Tasty Tex-Mex! This place has changed since my last visit several years ago... I remember it being more gourmet-seafoodish and now it is strictly Mexican. The food and service were great, and the place was hoppin'! We waited about 20 min for a table and the bar area was definitely a little rowdy. The place was packed and it is not exactly large, so expect close quarters. The chips and queso app was awesome and I loved my chicken soft tacos. The hub got a burrito of some kind that he enjoyed as well. Nice place for a delicious meal! read more

I stopped in this place this afternoon, and the food and service were excellent. I had the fish fry that was huge, and it came with seasoned fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. The hostess and my waitress were excellent in keeping my water filled and providing me with excellent service. read more

We are coming back!!! Today was our first time here and the food was absolutely delicious! We came with some of our friends who have a special place in their heart for this restaurant and we are so glad that they showed it to us! Chili Peppers is one of my favorite stops on the way home from the Outer Banks. The food is good, lot's of it and pretty inexpensive. It can tend to get a bit crowded, but go in off hours and it is fine. I really like the fish tacos or burritos. The baked jalapenos can be really hot, just the way I like them. read more

The food was good but not quite what we were expecting from the restaurant. It's kind of hard to tell who the server was with so many different people attending to our table even though there's only two of us. It was a slow night but it took them a really long time to take our order and get it to our table. But fun environment so if you're going with a group of people and just want time to chitchat and enjoy a meal could be the place. read more

Happened on this place after being disappointed that the brewing station was closed for a few weeks. It was tapas night at chili peppers and the food was excellent, not to mention a terrific value. The pork sandwich tapas was amazing...perfectly roasted pork with fresh cabbage and a flavorful sauce on grilled baguette. We ate half the menu and had beers and sangria and still only spent 60...great value. Staff also seemed sincerely interested in doing a good job. Would certainly go back. It was overflowing with locals on a week night in winter. If they eat there, so should you. read more

Great restaurant, go between 3:30 & 5:30 and it's happy hour!!! Wings .25 and shrimp .10, great menu options ranging from Mexican,sushi,sandwhiches, fish and more. I highly reccomend this restaurant definitely one of the best in the outer banks!!!!! read more

Tried this place for the first time. We come to OBX every summer and were looking for something different. The dining room is somewhat small. The menu has alot of diverse offerings. The front of the menu is appetizers alone and there was definitely something for everyone . Our table had the hot chips and boom boom shrimp...which I highly recommend. My husband had a cheeseburger which he enjoyed. I had the steamer pot with the fish of the day which was rock fish...the fish was over salted but very good and the veggies were delish. I saw another table ordered it with shrimp and the shrimp were huge! Others in our party had the noodle bowl and the fresh tuna special. Everyone enjoyed their meals and left stuffed! read more

I've eaten here now 3-4 times and each time has been better than the last! The fried jalapenos are incredible, the crab is good, the nachos are a fantastic app and the portion sizes on everything including just a plain dinner salad are very generous. Well worth the $$ we will be back! read more

This was a great find. The chimichurri sauce was amazing. All of our meals were wonderful. I had the fajitas with Adobo chicken and it was a great mixture. The stuffed jalapeños were a solid appetizer. Rib eye, seafood enchilada, bbq shrimp all good meals. A nice Hispanic lean on cuisine at the beach. The only down was an onion habanero soup was listless. This is probably a 4.5 star but Def better than a 4. Check it out on the highway. We went between 3pm and 6pm and did the 20 cent steamed shrimp and 50 cent wings. It doesn't get better than that. The shrimp are well seasoned and for an extra 50 cent you get butter and cocktail sauce. They come 20 per order. We got the mild buffalo wings and they were more a medium flavor, which we were told before ordering. They came 15 per order with a choice of bleu cheese or ranch for a few extra cents. The only complaint my kids had was the cheese fries we got for appetizer, while tasty, were enough for probably 1 person with minimal cheese. However they easily filled up on shrimp. Will definitely be visiting again!!!! read more

This restaurant was clean, friendly, and fast. We enjoyed our experience overall. We were able to order our appetizer and drinks and they were both brought out quickly. Once the appetizer was brought to our table we placed our order and our food was brought to us shortly. The waitress wasn't overly friendly but she wasn't rude. Best meal we had while in the OBX. The fish and chips were hot and delicious. The shrimp plate was yummy and the breading was perfect. My mom ordered the huervos rancheros and was surprised that the corn chips were blue but she said they were tasty. Will be back when we go to the OBX. read more

Started off a little worried as We asked the waiter what the rotating draft on tap was and he stated that he didn't know what that was. The food here was good we had the coconut shrimp and the Cuban sandwich. Downsides were they packed us into the corner table as they were busy and the cleanliness could be much better than it was. We had a $5 coupon from the Seafood Festival so thought we'd give this a try since the reviews were string. Not much in aesthetics but TVs carried sports to grab our attention. The service was exceptional and friendly. I had the crab cake dinner, hubby had fish tacos dinner. Each plate came with way too much food, all of which was very filling so we left abt 1/2 on our plates. We weren't able to take leftovers to our hotel room. The food was just ok, not much in the way of Mexican spices or good flavor. Wont be going back since there are so many other really good food choices in the area. read more

Great selection of American and Mexican dishes. Chips and salsa were fresh, topped with their own Chili Salt was excellent with their ice cold beer. I wish we had found it at the beginning of the week; I probably would have eaten here several times during our week long stay. Very casual atmosphere, nothing fancy but good service, great food, fantastic desert. We had the pulled chicken and black bean spring rolls for an app and they were yummy. My buddy had the crab cake which he gave high marks and my wife got a burger, which she ordered and was delivered rare. Hot diggity she was happy with that. It's hard to get a rare burger these days! I got the fish tacos (2) which were the best I ever head with lightly breaded flaky fish with fixings' and a great sauce, with a side of black beans and rice. It seemed like the tacos were homemade and did not crumble. I thought they were extremely good. For desert with tried this pineapple and mandarin cake that is quite frankly to die for. I only wish I had time to try it or dinner. Very relaxing and the wait staff was friendly and kept the drinks full. Recommend. read more

My son got married in Duck on October 1st and Chilli Peppers catered both the rehersal and wedding reception. There were about 90 people attending and the raves never stopped on the fabulous food. On Friday we did frajita night, wow were they the best, washed down with cold Corona and margaritas followed by homemade lime/pineapple sorbet. The wedding reception dinner got even better if possible and I think the crab cakes were the best I ever ate. The bartenders, servers all top notch! (Jenn can really dance too!) The entire wedding group went to the restaurant during our remaining stay. Great crab legs and bloody marys that require having two. Wish I had one right now and I give Chilli Peppers five stars-you did a bang up job and we all thank you very much!! read more

This place is great. They have quite possibly the best seafood burrito on the planet. Their Tuna sandwich is great too.
