Arrived from Hawai'i and went out to dinner and found this spot. The Cajun chicken bites and sauce were delicious, good flavor, moist chicken. Bloody Mary I seen that another elite member said they were amazing and since I love Bloody Marys I figured I'd try it. Didn't care for it. The coconut shrimp were so delicious I had told my husband they reminded me of a place in Hawaii that we went to for dinner for our first date. This was our second time going to Chili Peppers and everyone's food was amazing once again!

We went for Sunday brunch based on a couple of suggestions and are happy we did! The house made bananas foster syrup - holy smokes - 10/10. She crab soup was really good. The tuna tartare tacos were good - the tuna had a lot of marinade on them - which made them a little wet, but also gave great flavor. The grits were good too! We sat at the bar - easier since there were just two of us - rather than waiting for a table. The bartenders are on it. The later it gets, the divier it gets - but I'm good with that! read more

The decor beautiful, food amazing, owner awesome, waitress was rude. They where understaffed but so was many other places now due to people not wanting to work... but we tried holding a conversation with her and she had attitude the whole time. She never asked if we where okay and her over all sass when we asked question really did mess with the experience. If we where basing this visit on our waitress it would have been one star, but due to the owner killing with customer services and the food was amazing; making this restaurant in my opinion a 3. Now to a brighter note the crab cake was good nothing extraordinary or memorable but the rice was excellent and creamy with steamed veggies. The crab dip by far 100% makes this place, just wish we had a few more chips ended up having to eat with a spoon but still! We ate it before we got a pic... (sorry) Beast burger I got mine well done due to personal reason but the taste of the meat was well rounded and you could tell it was worth a try. And the season fries just like any. read more

Chili Peppers - had a good experience previously for dinner so we thought we'd give it a try for breakfast. I think we will stick to dinner. We were excited to try the coffee because it's from a local coffee shop, however; we were unfortunately disappointed. The coffee had a lemony-citrus flavor. I don't personally think citrus and coffee go together, so that was not pleasant. Maybe that affected our future thoughts, but the rest of the meal was "okay". Our server was very good though! Checked out this restaurant with some friends for Sunday brunch while vacationing in the Outer Banks because it was recommended by our Airbnb host. Our experience started out a little slow when we were left standing at the host stand for nearly 10 minutes waiting for someone to greet us. However, once we were seated the service got better! The food was good, but nothing special. I was expecting the Pigs in a Blanket to be something a little more intricate, like sausage links battered in pancake mix but instead it was quite literally sausage wrapped in pancakes. I really think they could make that meal so much better! My husband got the Western Skillet and enjoyed it. We also loved the hot sauce selection on the table, I regret not buying the habanero one! When we first walked in, we were quickly seated at a busy dinner hour. The restaurant was decorated with local art, which I can always appreciate. Server got our drinks and one of the sodas was out of syrup, so that drink took a minute to get back. I know the boxes take a minute to change; however, there was really no urgency by the server to return the drink. We ordered chips/salsa/cheese/guac and the chips were nearly stale. However, the dips were excellent. I wish the server would have checked in on us about our appetizer (as a server, I know this is an industry standard). Ordered the Tuna Special and this was one huge piece of tuna! Tuna was good and cooked well; however I wish the side dishes that were served with it paired better with the tuna. The HOSTS were very attentive to our needs, getting us any refills. The host also explained what their special hot sauce was and we ended up buying two bottles. On the way out of OBX, we stopped at Chilli Peppers for their Sunday brunch. What a treat! While service was quite slow at first, once we got seated and ready, we were able to get our food in a timely manner and everything tasted great! We had the breakfast quesadillas and southern Benedict and both were good brunch foods. I also had a fairly expensive mimosa to go with brunch but the food was the main appeal. The downsides outside of the lackluster service are that the drinks are fairly pricey for what you get and it seems that some of the foods on the menu are meant to be eaten with their variety of hot sauce. If you're not a hot sauce fan, you may feel as if their food is lacking. read more
