Love the ambience of the restaurant. It was very clean and well decorated. I would say that the service just seemed very mediocre. I don't say that often, but the waitress seemed very detached and uninterested. She didn't come back to check on us while we were eating, except to bring the check at the end. She was very friendly so it wasn't anything personal. It just seemed that she was not focused on service. The food was really good and I would definitely go back to try something else on the menu! Also, my friend who ordered the margarita said it was one of the best she ever had because it tasted so fresh! We stopped here on a whim and glad we did. Fast and polite service at a very reasonable price. We got the guacamole and chips for an appetizer. The chips were nice and hot and the guac was fresh. We also got a house Margaritas. It had the perfect amount of tequila. We got a variety of tacos (pork, beef, and rice & beans) and they were all very good. Everything was wonderful. The food was pretty good. The beef was more like a brisket and it was good, but more sweet than I prefer. The service was good. And it only took about 25 minutes for them to sit my table of 11. Struck out each time because they were either too busy to do take out or one of the cooks called out. This place has been a "go to" for us for many years as a local, but new management has practically ruined the place. Miss our old bartender, but don't blame him for leaving! Came to the Outer Banks with friends, and we wanted to get Mexican food on our last night. We decided to come here due to solid Yelp reviews and not many other options. I ordered 3 tacos, one with each of their pulled meats (chicken, pork, and steak). Queso and medium salsa was ordered for the table. The queso was decent and the medium salsa was addicting! The chips were good as well! Paying 6 dollars for salsa when it typically comes to the table free wasn't great; however, the salsa was solid enough to justify it. I was pretty disappointed by my tacos. I would have preferred a corn tortilla instead of flour, but a hot tortilla at the very least would have been nice. The meat tasted great, but all 3 tacos were nearly identical in taste and texture. Another thing to note was that the tacos dripped liquid everywhere despite the meat being quite dry. My platter had a puddle at the bottom by the end of the meal. My friends were also quite disappointed in their orders, except for my one buddy who really liked his fajita quesadilla. The service was average, and the food was a bit overpriced. I could save a few bucks buying 3 tacos at an authentic Mexican restaurant instead. read more

I was pretty disappointed that my giant Cali chicken burrito contained only 4 ingredients: chicken, rice, lettuce, and hella black beans. The menu stated it would come with cheese, fresh salsa, and sour cream. So I won't lie, the burrito was really tasty (hence why this review is at a solid 3 stars), but I was very heartbroken after hunting for the cheese, salsa, and sour cream only to find my burrito had none! Great food for its price point, the goat cheese and mushroom quesadilla is a must try if you have dietary issues or if you're just a fan, because it was fantastic! The queso was great (not just your normal queso blanco but had some color and flavor to it) but a little pricey, and salsa was not included which isn't a huge deal. They have four different types of salsa to choose from. My girlfriend loved the queso so we asked for the recipe and they gave it to us which was awesome! Had to come back after trying this place on our last year vacation, amazing... again! This time we went for pork belly jalapeño popper egg rolls and nachos, along with some tacos. Highlight was the pickled onions on the nachos and the shrimp taco was bomb. Love the artwork - they said it was some of the kitchen staff who are artists. Stopped in for a Saturday lunch, had to wait a bit for a table. The only negative was that it was freezing where we sat, I don't know if the air was on or the cold weather was coming in. Anyway we first ordered the chips and queso, the chips are homemade and with the dip where excellent. I ordered the chicken tacos, the meat was seasoned really well it was served a la carte so nothing else came with it. My daughter ordered the chicken fajitas quesadillas, large portions and also seasoned well, half came home. The Pork Belly Tacos are the best thing on the menu! I also tried the Shrimp taco, which was also a solid taco, and the Brisket taco, which wasn't my favorite as I found the flavors to be a bit off and overpowering. The salsa and chips were great! I did see that most of the other tables ordered the chips and guacamole so I wish we would have gotten that instead. My wife got the Giant Cali Burrito and we were wildly unimpressed. What an amazing find!! We were lucky enough to be recommended this place by a kayaking tour guide. She knew what she was talking about. We were all starving and could not make up our mind about takeout. Our group of 4 was lucky enough to be sat at a long table. The service was so quick and efficient. After a round of margaritas, our food came out so quickly that I was actually shocked. Everything, and I mean everything was amazing, fresh and tasty. Gauc and chips were amazing. Pork belly jalapeno popper egg rolls to die for. The tacos, all very tasty. I personally had the fresh tuna ones and the tuna was not overcooked but perfect!
