I ordered Chili's Nachos last week and Quesidillas this week. The nachos were inedible. They looked like they had been under heat lamp for hours. I tasted one, then right into the garbage. The quesadillas tonight were also heated to death with great globs of cheese everywhere. They were so salty I could not eat them. Flavor profile from this restaurant has been worsening over time. First of all, the girl at the door needs to be willing to help customers rather than chatting with coworkers. Stupid young and clueless waitresses who don't give a shit about customers really annoy me. The food was great (fajita trio) so that was a relief. Now the bathroom...can't they check at least a few times a day and not have trash, toilet papers, etc. scattered all over the bathroom? It is a restaurant and it really grossed me out that they'd leave a bathroom in that condition. We got the white chocolate molten cake but it took like 30 minutes to come...not like it was busy. Our experience was horrible. The bartender, CHRIS, was completely disrespectful and blatantly rude. Along with his rude side comments, thinking we could not hear him. You can tell he did not want to be there. A few customers next to us told us they had the same experience with him and now ask to be attended by someone else. IT IS THAT BAD WITH CHRIS. I come to Chili's in Livermore maybe once a month, but it's always quality food and friendly service. Chris the bartender is the backbone of this restaurant and is always so friendly and accommodating. I usually get Fajitas or Salmon, but I went with the big mouth bites and was not disappointed. I don't eat here often. Not by choice, rather by attempting to save my waistline from utter annihilation! I think the last time I was here was almost 14 years ago when I was telling my lovely Aunt that I got the job at Kaiser! Anyway my Aunt and Uncle wanted to go to dinner and suggested this place, I figured why not as it doesn't hurt to treat oneself from time to time. My inner demon told me to have their fabled lava cake for dinner while my inner sensible angel told me to go for something less diabolical. I split the difference down the middle by ordering their "The Boss" burger which is literally a whole backyard barbeque between two buns! The restaurant describes it as follows: "The burger all other burgers report to. Smoked brisket, tender rib meat, jalapeno-cheddar smoked sausage, bacon & cheddar with lettuce, tomato, House BBQ & house-made ranch. We. Dare. You." If that doesn't sum it all up, I don't know what will! The burger coupled with the side of fries did me in, with a smile, but did me in nonetheless! Would I come back? I have always been a fan of Chili's! Well not anymore! My first crummy encounter was a to-go order. I waited at their to-go counter for almost 10 minutes before someone offered to help. I got the smothered smoked chicken burrito and it was horrible. There was no sauce and was the driest thing I have ever had. I specifically asked for no sour cream and apparently that meant give extra sour cream and no burrito sauce! I also asked for the side to be rice, again not included. Being that it was to-go there wasn't anything I could do. I played it off as a bad visit. I decided to return with my company. We were seated promptly and already I thought it was going to be great. We waited for 20 minutes before someone wanted to claim our table. Now, there was a party of six who sat directly in front of our table about 10 minutes after we sat down and not only were they greeted, they had their drinks and their food ordered before we even were greeted. Again our food was far from spectacular with sides missing and never a check in to see how we were or even drink refill. Well why would I go back? Ugh, because I thought MAYBE it was just the holidays and the service/food was rushed. Today I again ordered online. Food was ok but I opted out of eating it and donated it to the dumpster after what I witnessed. I walked in the to-go door and waited in puddles of water as there seems to be some sort of leak. Standing water attracts bugs and other things! As I stood there waiting to be acknowledged.. AGAIN, I witnessed a server walk up to the food, touch the food with her bare hands JUST AFTER SHE WAS TOUCHING HER HAIR. She proceeded to lift up the hamburgers and go through the condiments. I witnessed this on 2 orders. She then asked where "Luke" was but with other choice words. I was disgusted. I threw my food away and I will never come back. All three visits were at this location. My husband and I went in at shortly before 4pm for dinner. It wasn't busy and we were seated quickly. All the tables in the section were dirty and no one was attempting to clear them. We sat at our table for 10min before someone even acknowledged our table. My husband stopped the third waitress who walked by and asked if she could help us, "Yah, I can, just a sec...." She came back and my husband ordered a coke, she went to walk away, I stopped her and asked for a drink, she tried again to walk away, I also asked for chips to which she said, "Yah" and walked away. 10 minutes later my husbands coke comes out. Still no chips or my drink and no order taken. Over in the bar next to us, a guy in a white shirt announces he is the manager from the Fremont store with his parents in town to visit. Both the bartenders are tripping over themselves to get his drinks, chips and order fast. We sat for another 10 minutes waiting for my drink, the chips and to order; all the while watching as the bartenders chatted up the manager, the red headed waitress slowly picked up the silverware off the table next to us and the dark, curly haired waitress text on her phone. There were six staff in one section and not one of them could be bothered to take an order, clear a table, wipe a table, or get a drink. After sitting and waiting 30 minutes for mediocre service, we got up and left. And wait staff wonder why the customer has stopped tipping them. Staff usually friendly ... can definitely be slow at times and not very attentive to their customers. But usually pretty good in the bar area. Great happy hour times and good prices. It would be nice if the cooks understood meat temps, three different times I ordered my steak medium and it has come out rare (completely blue) and having them fix sucks worse cause they butterfly it and end up cooking it well done so it's tough. Bug when they do get it right it's a decent steak. Fried pickles are gross ... they are stuffed into a basket and since not drained well first it's nothing but an oily mess. It was a very late dinner last night, so we stopped here for a margarita, chips n salsa with queso dip (we get chips n salsa complementary because we are on the email list). The queso was cold and meh. We decided to get the grilled chicken salad to spilt- the kitchen put our meal onto separate plates, which was very nice. The salad, though tasty and of good proportions had limp,dirty and rotten/brown spinach pieces which we spent lots of time picking through and removing from our plates. Eeew! We sat in the bar section in hopes that we'd get the happy hour - nope, fell into the gap where happy hour isn't. Oh well on more libations.... but with the temperature of our queso and the soggy/disintegrating lettuces in the salad, we felt this visit didn't meet our expectations for this establishment read more

Who knows, but it all looks the same, and it all tastes the same. I like Chili's....always have, so 4 stars to staying a consistent corporate restaurant...and feeding our depleting adrenaline highs, and for being the total opposite of what we did in the morning. This review is all about the server. Our servers name was "James" and he was one of the best we've ever had. He was friendly, joked with us and helped make sure we ordered exactly what we wanted. They have a "design your own fajita" thing and I was having a hard time deciding what to order so he helped me with some suggestions and I loved how it turned out. I hope the management at this location take notice and acknowledge James accordingly. And for the record, we didn't know James before we went there, haven't talked to him since, and had to wait to figure out his name because I knew I was going to yelp about the visit. He told us when we were first seated, but I wasn't paying much attention because I had no idea that I would leave wanting to yelp about our great experience. I did go with just my oldest daughter and let her pick the place. We had a nice time. Ordered chips and queso, I ordered the make your own fajitas thing and my daughter ordered some sort of burger. I go to Chili's once maybe twice a year when i get duped by one of their commercials and every single time I go I rediscover how mediocre their food is. The same can be said for Applebees, TGIFs, and other mainstream chains of similar mediocrity. Things to note.. their Kickin' Jack Nachos are really salty - not sure if this was just a bad batch but I've also noticed how much the "American" palette craves it. (On a sidenote, why do some people reach for the salt shaker before they've even tasted their food? Maybe a subconscious custom?) Service was pretty good though. read more

I used to be a huge fan of Chili's and we used to go all the time. About a year ago, my husband daughter and I went one weekend, and I got sick. I figured it was just the flu but the following week we went back and my daughter got sick so it took us a year to venture back in. Last night was the first night that we ventured back in. The only reason they are getting one star is because I do like the new decor. Other than that, it was a horrible experience. First of all, the service is horrible. Our server was Leslie. She could not get rid of us soon enough. Every time she came by she seemed very rushed and it was not even that busy. Trust me, there were plenty of open tables and she spent plenty of time in the corner. She brought us our dinner and then as soon as she cleared our plates, she brought us our check. She didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else or if we wanted dessert. My husband and I both ate light so we could have dessert. Second, the food looks horrible and was luke warm. My husband had some buffalo wings and a side salad. Some of his lettuce was wilted, his wings were thrown on a plate, and his ranch dressing was hot rather than cold. I ordered the crispy chicken tacos, with no rice or beans. The tacos came out cold but had clearly been sitting their for a while because the cheese had melted. These tacos used to come in a rack, now the tortillas are thrown on a plate and all of the stuff is just thrown on top. My daughters Mac & Cheese and cord were cold and looked old. I didn't send anything back because Leslie looked irritated already and I didn't feel like wondering what would happen to my food if I sent it back. As it is, she took a very long time at the cash register in the corner, so I am beginning to wonder if I am going to have some extra charges on my credit card. I must say sorry to the poor hostess who was probably all of 17 years old. She asked us how our dinner was and I told her it would have been better if I would have even been offered some dessert. I am pretty sure she was expecting me to say that everything was great but don't ask me a question if you don't want the real answer. Here are my suggestions: 1. Get rid of Leslie. She is going to drive your customers away. 2. If Michael is still a bartender, have him give your waiters some tips. You should have kept him as a waiter. He is by far the best waiter that Chili's has ever had. He is one of the reasons that we went back week after week in the past. 3. Get your chefs to go back to culinary school. Have them focus on presentation. When the food looks bad, it makes the taste even worse. 4. Have a manager at the front or someone who can handle complaints when people are asked how their meal was. That poor girl that was there last night had no idea what to do or say to me. What would have been nice is if she asked if I wanted to talk to an manager. Other than that, all I can say is good luck. We like Chilis partly b/c of the chips and salsa so we started w/ that and added some guacamole which was rather tasty- they add corn to the guac which I liked. We decided on the 2 for $20 option where you share an appetizer and you get two full sized entrees. I ordered the Margarita Grilled Chicken (Lighter Choice) and added corn tortillas b/c they are my newest addiction. The portion was perfect and the taste was good- I would order again. My recent letter to Chilis will explain my one star. I just wanted to voice my extreme disappointment in the new layout of my local restaurant... A TV in EVERY corner throughout the entire restaurant?? Chilis used to be our favorite family destination, but we can't have a family meal together when everyone's eyes are drawn to a screen. It used to be you could go out to get AWAY from those things, now we are bombarded with it. I was with my 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter and there was an informercial on with women in tiny bikinis, and the ads on the sports channels are all beer and girls. Things I don't want my kids influenced by. And I can't imagine any woman wanting to have a meal with her man while girls are working out on the TV - awkward and inappropriate. Please reconsider turning Chilis back into a restaurant instead of the 100% sports bar it's become. We will not be back at this point. Thank you. read more

By far one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Far worse than BJ's a few weeks ago and I really thought that was bad. Walked in at about 5pm, restaurant is generally empty. No hostess in sight. Lots of staff walking nearby and completely ignoring us. I finally yelled to one of them to be seated. We get seated and our server was decently attentive and accommodating. He brought one set of silverware for 3 of us and a pile of napkins. I guess he figured my children would eat with their hands and thus need cleaning afterwards. Napkins had blood, or what appeared to be blood on them. I pointed it out to the manager and the waiter did not take away the other napkins in the pile. He did, however bring me another napkin with blood on it....From the same bin. Manager "investigates" and determines that it's not blood but rather a watermelon sauce. I'm not convinced, nor am I impressed. I am a nurse so I feel fairly confident in recognizing blood. But...ok. Food was mediocre at best and now I'm nauseous because I can't stop thinking about the blood and wondering what else had blood on it. I should have left then but any mother knows that leaving with two starving children to attempt to start dinner over again somewhere else is a perilous task. I convinced myself that it either wasn't blood or that it wasn't in the food processing areas. I hope I was right. No. I will not be eating at Chili's...ever....again. read more

Seated as soon as we walked in, we were brought water before we thought of what to order. I asked out server what she recommended: Chili or Sweet Corn Soup - she said sweet corn soup. So I ordered the soup and salad. Sweet Corn Soup was SO tasty! I really liked it, it was a thick creamy soup with corn and maybe some cheese. I also got the basic house salad, can't imagine anyone using all the dressing that they give you - but you never know. DH got a big burger and he said it was pretty good. Better than ordering their BBQ BBRibs. So, I would come back here - even without a GC to order the soup. So far its the only thing I really like here. Not a bad lunch place, a little more pricey than they used to be. I had the CRISPY HONEY-CHIPOTLE CHICKEN CRISPERS. This is how its described on their menu: "Strips of chicken hand-battered then breaded and fried to perfection for that extra crispy crunch and topped w/our spicy & smoky honey-chipotle sauce. Served with sweet corn on the cob & homestyle fries." It was crispy, but I couldn't really find much chicken. The fries were a bit soggy and corn was fresh. My husband and I decided to grab dinner at Chili's Grill & Bar last night. We were there early and were seated right away. We decided to order from the $20 Dinner For Two menu. For our appetizer we shared a Crispy Onion & Jalapeno Stack. I was not impressed. The crispy onions were greasy and not as spicy as I would have liked. We were then brought the Chicken Fajitas and Cajun Chicken Pasta we had ordered. Once again the food was mediocre. My pasta was very bland and lacking in spice and so were my husbands fajitas. We were pretty full by this point but decided to order dessert since we had a coupon for a FREE dessert of our choice. We ordered a Molten Chocolate Cake. It was delicious and probably the best part of the meal until I bit into a small white piece of plastic. I am not sure how that even got into the dessert but it did. I am so glad I didn't swallow or chip a tooth on it. I would have brought this to the managers attention but didn't since my husband just wanted to relax after a long hard day at work. Me and my boyfriend went here after a long day then driving for an hour and a half back to Sunnyvale from Sacramento so we thought we would make a pit stop because even though we wanted to grab a bite for the road, both of us didn't want fast food. When we walked in from the wrong door apparently because the parking lot we came from was right outside of the side door so we walked in, not being acknowledged much until we both went up to the host and told her we sat ourselves down on the side since no one noticed. That didn't bother me much. I ordered my favorite appetizer, the chips and salsa, the salsa was so watery i gave up after trying to get something out of it which was disappointing, luckily it was happy hour and it was free or I would have complained how watery and gross it was, the chips were even beyond greasy, my boyfriend told me not to eat them anymore cause they were so greasy and flimsy. He ordered wings and I ordered a chipotle bowl, it was pretty decent, the waitress was sweet but I still probably wouldn't come back here if i was in the area. Didn't feel welcoming. read more

I really like their fries and the fact that they offer a black bean patty option on the burgers for those of us who don't eat beef but still want a burger like experience. I also like the build your own burger option they added recently. Portions and prices are reasonable.
