Came across this restaurant from a post on Nextdoor. I guess this restaurant has been in Livermore for years. It's located in a strip mall will Terra Mia. The chips and salsa were very good. We ordered a few items, fajitas, enchilada & tacos. All the food had a lot of flavor & tasted great. The place was very clean even if it was a bit older. The service was great as well. Only thing I would say is a negative is the prices. The prices are a bit high for the type of establishment. It's a bit divey. I would go more often if the prices were more reasonable. I understand that costs are up, but sometimes restaurants out price their customers. I will try to frequent as much as I can. I do recommend it to anyone who wants good food. The margaritas were delicious, everyone in our group loved their meal, and they allowed us to linger and enjoy our time in the restaurant, which we appreciated because we had a lot of catching up to do! First time visit with my wife. The ambiance and theme were great. The food lacks flavor, and I can't understand why it has been in business for so long. This has to be the worst Mexican food restaurant I've ever been to. There was a menu called "Specials," and my wife ordered the Tortilla Soup. The soup you can tell wa reheated several times. The combo plates we got had Spanish/Mexican rice with no flavor, globbed together. Beans were fine. The enchiladas were okay, but I could tell the chicken was dry and had been sitting for a while. The taco's hard shell was very greasy. Bottom line, it was Mexican Slop delivered. Good luck to those 5-star folks who think this place is great. Situated in a little strip mall off of East Ave in Livermore. Casa Mexico has a small Mexican joint vibe with some unique decor and great staff. They bring out chips and salsa to the table. Salsa plural. One mild and one spicy. I went out of my safe zone and tried something new today at Casa Mexico. Had the Carnitas de Pollo. The plate that comes out is massive. It's kind of like a fajitas plate with a different sauce that was very good. Would definitely recommend it. So I used to come here a lot but since I live so far away, I only come here every now and then. Very intimate Mexican restaurant. Low music playing and it is never overly loud. They start by bringing chips and salsa. Not just mild but spicy as well. I like that. I am a creature of habit and usually always get the thing. So Carnitas De Pollo it is. This dish is almost like fajitas but with a little different sauce. Still served with rice, beans and tortillas. What can I say about our server. She gave us time and didn't rush us at all. Honestly from the moment we walked in we were greeted and immediately seated, it wasn't too busy (I believe we came in right before the dinner rush which was perfect) I ordered the Piña Coladas and my partner ordered the large margarita! Both came out soon after! The salsa and chips are to die for! I couldn't get enough of their spicy salsa it's simply too good! I ordered the quesadilla with ground meat as an appetizer which was delicious! I thought I could do with one more plate so I ordered the shrimp fajitas and oh my goodness out came TWO plates! The fajitas and the rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream on another! The portions are quite big and well priced! In the end, I was able to take some for to-go! We came here during the holiday time and it was packed. It was great to see the community supporting local business. It's not a huge place, but there's a good amount of seating including some outside (heaters were in use). There are booths and table areas plus seating in their bar area. Great options on the menu. The servers were super friendly and clearly working extra hard the night we were in. There were multiple larger parties of 10+ people. Our food came out super hot and tasty. Everything was delicious. Only been here once but it was pretty bad lol. I ordered on DoorDash for pick up. Hostess didn't ask for my name but said it's not ready so I sat down next to another guy waiting for an order. In a few minutes she comes out, hands us similar looking bags at the same time and quickly disappears. I immediately felt something was wrong because i only ordered a one item plate and there were two boxes which were hefty. I waited for her to return or to flag somebody but no one was there. It was pretty tightly wrapped up but i took a peak and saw a burrito which was the one item I ordered, even tho it seemed a lot bigger than what I expected. I was too tired and starved to investigate further. When I got home I opened both boxes to discovered I received two giant burritos, no rice and beans which was supposed to be part of my plate. I dug into the burrito that looked closer to what I ordered and tbh it was terrible. Mostly rice, really tough meat that I wasn't even sure if it was carnitas or carne. Barely any beans and not enough sauce to make it flavorful. Overall odd experience and will not be rushing back. Oh and I found a bug crawling on a chip. read more

I ordered the special which I thought was going to be "traditional" tacos so was a little taken back by how they were served, but overall I enjoyed the meal. I've been coming here with my family since I was 7 years old. I am now 30. This is such a solid Mexican restaurant. Their portions are huge and well worth the price. The staff have always been kind and attentive. This is a great place to go with a large party or just your family. Parking is never an issue. read more

I had never seen or heard of this little spot and I can understand why. The decor is fun and light and the restaurant is fairly big. The best part about this meal was the chips and salsa. Super fresh and the salsa had lots of flavor but not super acidic which is nice. Walking in, the host said not one word to us. We had to say hello and ask for a table and he grabbed menus and walked to the table. Just not very welcoming. Our waitress was nice and very helpful but you could tell she was done with the day and tired. Our table got chicken and steak fajitas. I almost got the chile verde but I'm glad I didn't because my partner got the pork enchiladas and his stomach did not like it. The rice and beans were "eh". Overall impression: Underwhelming in the spicing/ flavor effort. The basic chile relleño was fine, the pork in green sauce had very little chile or other flavor. Pork was fine. The salsas with chips: the mild one had zero chiles, the other had a mild picante flavor. Bottled Tapatio sauce was on the table. The margarita tasted bland: more sugar than is usual, less lime and it appeared to have no alcohol in it. It's probably the type of whatever mix they used. The rice, beans and tortillas were standard/ fine. The waitress was pleasant, the atmosphere standard Mexican. Parking in front of the restaurant was adequate but we had to back out as turn-around was not possible from the end point. We were Anita's regulars, so now we are on the hunt for our new Mexican restaurant. We may have found it. The atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for. It's not fancy, it's not pretentious, it's pretty utilitarian. It has the feel of what I want, just on the respectable side of a dive restaurant. There were also a lot of regulars that the waitresses were quick to recognize. I love that in a restaurant! The chips and salsa were great. The heat level on the salsa was perfect. I can't remember exactly what my husband ordered but I know there was a Chile relleno as part of it. I got a meatless tostada. We both loved out meals. The plates were huge and the food had a lot of flavor. I did find the rice to be a little bland. I asked for some really hot sauce and was told they don't have that. The salsa was the hottest they had. I ended up putting that on my rice. Other than the lack of a very hot salsa or sauce, it was just about perfect. It's the best Mexican restaurant we've found so far in our search for an Anita's replacement. We'll be back. read more

The service was terrible, the food was horrible, and it is way overpriced! 3 people in our party ordered the lunch special chimichanga with rice and beans. We basically paid for rice and beans, the chimichangas were the size of a taquito. I had a flavorless veggie burrito and my Daughter had a cold, flavorless chicken burrito. Came here on a Thursday night. Not too busy. Maybe 6 people in the restaurant. Host looked like he was dead inside. The server came shortly after, super standoffish; looked as though we were inconveniencing her. Walked away from us while we were asking her a question. I figured maybe she's busy so give her the benefit of the doubt. It just kept getting worse. Food came out about 10 min late. Rice was cold, like pulled from the fridge cold. Beans were not even warm enough to melt the cheese on them. I got a tamale as well and it was probably the worst tamale I've ever had. It was about 2 inches thick and had maybe 1/4" of meat in it. The rest was cold. The sauce was pretty gross. We've actually been here over a year ago while I was working in Livermore and the food was really good, staff was great. This time around was a joke. I was half tempted to walk out without paying for what we got. Not the mention, the server came to the table behind us and across the restaurant multiple times and just kept walking by us as if we didn't exist. You're better off eating at the gas station across the street. Save your money (and your peace). Avoid this place. read more

This is my family's new staple for Mexican food in Livermore. Huge portions, great salsa, and great margaritas! I've been here twice now. The first time I had a chile relleno and enchilada platter and the second the vegetarian burrito. Both were excellent. The chile relleno seemed fresh and in-house made. I was on a long bike ride through the area, and saw this little restaurant and decided to give it a try. It's in a little shopping center in a residential part of Livermore. The entrance to the restaurant is on the side, which looks sort of dingy. So I wasn't sure what to expect, but inside it's nicer. There's a beautiful painting on the wall as well. The rest room was clean and well-stocked. I ordered one chicken enchilada and a fish taco. Both were very good. They also have a decent selection of bottled beer. All in all, I thought this was a good meal. Tasty food, well-prepared. Vitali for my meal and a beer was about $14.50. Reasonable prices I thought. I used to love Casa Mexico the food was legit the best in town and their margaritas were even better because they have the good nugget ice. I haven't been there in over 5 years, I went Friday night, ordered chicken fajitas and a Cadillac margarita. My bf ordered a quesadilla and a beer. They were out of Victoria so he had to order something else. The chips and salsa came to our table and the chips were trash. Not crunchy, had a weird texture. The salsa, one spicy and one mild, mild had so many green onions in it, all you could taste was onion. It also had a weird texture with white specs in it. Our food came, the chicken was meh, there was no flavor completely bland. My BF said his quesadilla was ok. The margarita was the only good thing, but the Cadillac margarita was $22 and it was a smaller glass than they used to be.
