BarBQ Chicken Salad with Loaded Potato Soup.
    Jimmy T.

Stopped in for lunch today. I tried something different and got the Pimento Cheese BLT Sandwich. Very good and was one of the best Pimento Cheese sandwich I've had in a long time. Also had the Loaded Potato Soup and Broccoli Salad. These were also very tasty! Love the soup! My wife got the BarBQ Chicken Salad with Loaded Potato Soup. She said it was one of her favorites. Service was fast and friendly. Everything was very tasty and you can definitely tell everything was made fresh. Restaurant was clean and organized. Definitely will come back to this location in the future when we are in St Augustine!

Perfect statement. Never knew so many ways to make chicken salad. I chose the scoop and soup option! Delicious we'll be back !

Great place for lunch. Lots of salad options. I chose the classic with soup as a side. It was delicious and hearty. We'll be back.

I started my breakfast/lunch trek to Metro Diner but ended up at Chicken Salad Chick. I ordered the Fancy Nancy (Fuji apples, seedless grapes, & pecans) on a croissant. *A little on the sweet side which goes well with the side pickle spear. Friendly, fast service. They also have a grab and go case. Will definitely return and try their other salad combinations.

It was customer appreciation day today. Came by to try out the chicken salad. They were giving out free samples of their chicken salad. One big scoop for everyone who came by. All day long! We came in on a good day. The restaurant is located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. We were greeted by a very friendly lady by the entrance. Inside the very southern style restaurant it is bright and clean and has a big seating area. Very family friendly. They offer several flavors of chicken salads. The menu is full of lots of healthy choices. Prices are very reasonable. They also do catering for parties and corporate events. Get yourself a rewards card online. You get points for your purchases that can be used for free food or chick merchandise. You will also get a free meal on your birthday if you sign up. Can't wait to go back, the chicken salad was delicious!

Barbie Q chicken salad and grape salad

I love it and I'm happy to eat lunch there every chance I get. They have like 10 different kinds of chicken salad and I love their grape salad! Service is usually quick and the food is always consistent and fresh...my favorite is the Cranberry Kelli chicken salad but I also love the Barbie Q...& I always get the grape salad as my side: it's green and red grapes tossed in some vanilla yogurt (maybe) with pecan pieces and brown sugar sprinkled on the top!! Mmmm mm

Decided to give this place a try and boy was I in for a treat! My mother in law and I loved it so much, we went back today to order takeout to have for dinner tonight! Plenty of food for their portions. The restaurant was clean, tables appropriately marked closed for social distancing, employees very friendly but most importantly the food was delicious!!! We ordered the dill-icious chicken salad (dill flavoring with cucumbers) and it was so yummy/flavorful and the shredded chicken was incredibly soft. The loaded potato soup is fantastic too! And those little buttercream cookies, yes please!!!

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night, reservations were hard to get at standard dinner time, so we made a 4:30 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was less crowded - when we did leave about an hour later, it was much busier. The setting itself is plain inside - with such a beautiful outdoor setting, the inside looks more like a hospital cafeteria, with very bad acoustics. I don't know who designed the inside, but it's a very un-Floridian setting. The parking lot will also be interesting over time...when we arrived at 4:30 p.m., the lot was close to full, infringing upon the business next door, and by the time we left people were searching for spaces. This is definitely a place to make a reservation and arrive early. Our check-in process was a bit confusing, there's a check-in stand outside where nobody was hosting, and we assumed that was for the patio. We went inside where there's another check-in stand where we were told to go back outside to wait for the hostess so that she could check us in and bring us back inside. If you have to read that a few times, it's as confusing a process as it sounds. We were then seated at a table where we sat for 15 minutes (I started a timer after about 5 minutes) with no server, no drinks, just the two of us wondering at what point one of the many employees was going to pay attention to our table. After 15 minutes, we were approached by Rebecca who brought us drinks, and took our order. By that time, I was just hoping to get a decent meal and get out, since I really didn't expect much. Once dinner did arrive, the food was wonderful! I ordered a creative meal they have which is pulled pork barbecue and waffles, a creative play on Chicken and waffles (which they also offer). I have to give the chef a lot of credit - the meal was tasty and flavorful. Based upon the food, this restaurant would be a five star experience - regrettably with the service snafu and a very sterile environment, it's a four-star overall. Perhaps we'll return when the weather cools down a bit and we can enjoy the patio, as I don't look forward to returning to the dining room anytime soon.

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

No reservations taken, check in and then wait outside on a long bench or stand in the shade by the next building. The wait can be long, but we lucked out with a table for two. It was a busy evening, and a few big big groups. Bring cash...no credit cards. They have a fried chicken special for $11.99, with 2 sides and 2 hush puppies. The fried shrimp is the most popular dish on the menu, with a choice of how many pieces. There is no booze, but the ice tea, sweet or unsweetened is tasty, and refilled often. I had the 9 piece shrimp dinner with macaroni and cheese and the cucumber salad with the delicious hush puppies. The red fish was delicious too. The Minorcan soup had the right amount of heat. No room for a piece of pie. The staff is so well trained. Restaurants have come and gone, but O'Steen's has the right formula. When we left, the lines were longer. Best to get they earlier than later. Don't forget they are closed on Sunday and Monday.

I had mentioned two guests had a birthday in my reservation and they put two birthday notecards on the table, this was a lovely touch. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the scallop toast (we ordered it a second time because it was so good!) and bread service for starter. The table really liked the empanadas, I was not a huge fan (but, I am from Miami so my empanada taste buds are different LOL). The Rockefeller Snapper was incredible. Huge piece of yellowtail and just an overall unique dish. The Scallop Cavatelli had to have been one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. It was rich and decadent. I am not sure if they hand roll the pasta in house, but the pasta tasted so fresh. The table had some espresso martinis to end the night and I had a decaf French press coffee (I think he said French press). It was all delicious. Highly highly recommend.

I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)
