Tried the chicken taco salads for the first time. They were delicious. One salad would actually feed two people, so we had left overs. I will be back. read more

I've eaten their chicken many times over the years and it has usually been good, until recently. Somehow, they've discovered a new breed of bird that's slightly larger than a marshmallow Easter peep! These scrawny creatures have legs the size of pencils, thighs the size of a tea bag and, after being way over-cooked, feels like you're chewing on a piece of jerky from the paleolithic era! I can't comment on the flavor because there is none. Next time, I'll munch on an old leather belt and save a few bucks! read more

I really like the rotisserie chicken but I don't bother with the sides or anything else. El Pollo Loco has better sides. You can get 8 pieces for $6.99 and this is basically a whole chicken cut up-- two each of breast, thighs, legs, and wings. I like that it is drive-thru. It has a good smokey taste, is tender, and isn't too salty. The tacos and burritos are not what I expected. I am more used to Mission-style taqueria food. The tacos were pre-made hard shells and rather bland. The burrito was large with too much fine shredded cheese and sour cream. The sour cream overwhelmed everything. The meat in both was finely shredded, almost pureed, and not chunky at all like they picked off the meat from the bones. read more

The best rotisserie chicken around! Used to be a great value and service was great, but prices are rising and service is getting more commercial like. Still one of my fav's in Vallejo. Taco salad is good for those trying to watch carbs. read more

This place is the best! I live in Napa and drive to Vallejo just to eat here. My boyfriend introduced me to Chicken Express six years ago and we've been coming back ever since. Everything I've tried on the menu is delicious, but we always get the chicken taco's and a side of rice and sometimes the strawberry cake. Great prices, overall good customer service and I love the late night hours. read more

Food is still tasty and reasonable. They have added breakfast burritos from 7-11am. They just catered burritos for a school breakfast, delicious. Taco salad is especially fresh and a large portion. Window service fast and excellent. They give Kentucky and other chicken run for their money. The chicken is healthy. read more

(In a pirate accent)Ooh ye olde Vallejo...uncharted Yelp territory...arrgh! Ahem..go ahead, take a detour off I-80 to the north bay town and enjoy yourself a quick hot meal, you deserve it (right?). As far as fast food is concerned, I'm claiming this little place to have the best rotisserie chicken that my taste buds have ever encountered. The meat is marinated for hours with tangy lemon and herbs, and is so succulent that it literally falls off the bone! A two piece meal is $5, and is flanked with you choice of mash potatoes/gravy or rice/beans, garlic bread or tortillas, and freshly made salsa. Might I add a healthier and smarter alternative to KFC which is located on the next block. Make sure you have cash on hand because they have this odd debit card payment method...you have to "with-drawl" $10 first and then they give you back the remaining change, a lovely fee of $1 is also attached. I happen to work around the corner, so this is my lunch of choice at least once a week. I can always count on returning back to work completely full and satisfied, and no doubt significantly less productive...shh! read more

Chicken Express - Mexican Near Me - Vallejo, California

Home of the 69 cent taco... and heartburn. However, in their defense, my best friend swears by their Mexican rotisserie. #itsprettygood

I work in Vallejo and love this place! Today I tried one of the meal option and it was fantastic! Everything is good here especially the potato salad! I recommend this place to all of my friends! read more

MAN OH MAN. This place seriously has one of the best tacos I have ever had. I am an extreme taco junkie and have tried tacos from many, many places and I must say that the tacos here are absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I always order the same thing; Taco combo plate with an extra taco with a side of beans and rice or whatever else I'm in the mood for. Its a fast food place so expect to get all dressed up and come here for a date. But it suits the purpose to just sit down and eat your meal. They also have a drive thru if you don't want to eat inside. but I do keep my hand sanitizer handy when eating inside, lol. They have a staff of diligent workers who demonstrate great customer service. The meat is so delicious, no matter what you order, you'll at least get a taste of their wonderful chicken, which is probably why I love the tacos so much. I love their rice too, its so fluffy, I don't feel guilty for eating carbs. I have tried their taco salad, super burrito, 3 piece meal, and taco combo plate, and have been satisfied with everything I get from here. In the summer, they also have late hours and sometimes close at midnight, which is awesome when you have the munchies late at night! You never see late night mexican food chains open unless its taco bell. This place has an authentic mexican home cooked meal feel but also has the convenience and speed of a fast food restaurant. And its affordable too!!! read more

Yuck! Yuck! I hate taco bell and i would have rather gone there! Nasty and over priced a bit i think. With all the burrito trucks in vallejo why in the heck would you go here! Especially when baldos is right there! Baldos is wayyyyy better better tacos better food little pricey but worth it. The chicken here had noooo taste at all and the shells ? What the heck they were kind of stale and are like the ones you buy in the store in the box. Burritos are tiny and rice and beans are nasty no taste! Ei dont understand how this place has lasted. read more

We always come to the drive through for their chicken tacos with sour cream. Their tacos can be delicious when drunk and with la vics hot sauce if you have it. My boyfriend really likes the their hot sauce with the chicken tacos. If I were to describe them I would say they're pretty basic with the lettuce, tomatoes, a hard/soft shell, cheese, and shredded rotisserie chicken. Service is never bad here I would just rate it more if the food was more amazing. But for sure I'll come for a quick snack but it wouldn't be my first go to. read more

I've been coming to this place since I was a little kid. Honestly, nothing has changed. I usually always get a whole chicken, burrito, and tacos. This time I felt I should try something different. I ordered the taco salad and it was GOOD and very fulfilling! It's something to share because the portion is just HUGE! I barely ate half of it. Unless you're starving aha. Minus 1 star because the wait can sometimes take forever when you're at the drive-thru. read more

The only thing I miss about living in Vallejo is this place. The chicken there is absolutely delicious. Truly "Finger licking good".

Got the two piece with white meat. Meat is juicy and flavorful, sides are good, price is cheap. Will always stop by here when I'm in Vallejo. read more

the wait time is long....wayyyyy longgg. but way worth it!!!!!!!!!!!! 79cent tacos ain't no joke!!! buy 2 for every 1 you think you want! and get sour cream with it! it's very necessary! i can easily eat 4/5 and 2 side dishes and chips and salsa. open till midnight! read more

Their taco salads are amazing! I usually get the salsa on the side because some times they put way too much. Get it with the pinto beans and not the retried beans. Some times you will find small chicken bones. But that's natural. My husband loves their burritos. And their taco sauce is amazing. read more

Best fuckin tacos in the world. One of their workers is a real mob nigga. Another one is the realist killa in the V. The employees here are hard working savages. They work under 100 degree temperatures and still find a way to satisfy their customers needs. Although one of their workers wears FUBUs watch out for him cuz he'll fuck ur bitch with no mercy. I'm out 1738YMCMB #mob #franklinst #1738 #YMCA #fubunation #richgang read more

Winner winner chicken dinner. Chickens dream of having the honor to give back to the world as a Chicken express taco. I truly thank them for that. Thank you. And its no surprise I have a ridiculous amount of their taco sauce packets stashed in my kitchen. Again, thank you. read more

Uhhhhh can u say 79 cent tacos? You can feed a whole army here for under $10. Only reason they lost a star is because the tacos used to be 69cents... And the drive thru is hella slow. I suggest u go and if anyone's in the drive thru... Hit the inside. read more

"Chicken Express, how can I help you?!" Haha! I've been here more times than I think I've been to any other eatery in Vallejo. The freaking best. Chicken Taco Salad with an extra ranch on the side please! I need to get my hands on a Costco sized bottle of their taco sauce too. I always ask for a ton of it when I'm there because I put it on everything at home. Seriously, I have a drawer full of that stuff. If they started serving quac they would be killing the chicken game. read more

We LOVE this place. We get take out for our family here 2-3 times a month. Great Juicy Chicken - NOT FRIED! Love the sides, especially the spanish rice and cold slaw. The tortillas (flour or corn) are always fresh and warm and I love the chunky salsa they provide. I haven't tried their other food yet like their burritos and taco salad but I plan to because I hear they are also great. Seriously, you gotta try this place.... Lots of good food for a great price and you always have yummy leftovers that you actually WANT to eat! - Jen read more

Still great place. Went a couple of days ago and the burritos were bigger than I remembered.

I think this place is so appealing to me just because it looks so dinky and dirty from the outside but is so surprisingly good. The chicken is great, it's cheap, fast, and it doesn't make you feel like you just bathed in a vat of lard like so many restaurants do. I used to go here a lot more often, but I'm getting a craving. I love driving by and pointing it out and watching my friends give me perplexed looks. Obviously it's not a gourmet restaurant, and you're not gonna go here on a nice date, but credit for quality despite being a dinky fast food place in the middle of Vallejo. read more

Our go to place for chicken. We pick up their chicken once or twice a week. We have a pot luck at work and they want me to bring this chicken again read more

Monica helped me decide what to order for my son's graduation party last week. He wanted Mexican food and I found caterers to be slow in returning calls and not happy that I "only" wanted food for 40. Monica was lovely and gave me confidence the food would be ready. I've eaten there before and ordered a family pack for another party years ago, so I knew the food is fresh and delicious. Their food made our party! The chicken was scrumptious, and the pico de gallo was so fresh and tasty. You get lots of sides choices with party packs, and the portions are large. Until I talked to Monica, I was stressing over the food. She was lovely and came through for us. We ordered 2 party packs and technically had enough food for 48, but we had lots left over even though I saw people eating large plates of food. If you want great, fresh food at a reasonable price, check out Chicken Express. They can handle the big stuff as well as a quick lunch. Five stars for them. read more

I heard it used to be called Chicken Spit, only because the chicken is cooked on a spit... It's delicious. Ask for the green hot sauce and just pour it over everything!! Delicious and always fresh! read more

Chicken Express' Chicken Tacos have saved many a night. So cheap and so good!

From the ashes of the Chicken Spit, arose Chicken Express... After Bud's Burgers I give Chicken Express the honorary badge of favorite places to eat. Chicken Express is almost staple. The chicken is cooked rotisserie style and it has to be the best I have ever had. Better than the mobile Roti-toti and yes, even better than Costco and Grocery store brands. Chicken is flavorful, and juicy. The chicken tacos are off the hook. Buy one get one free! What a deal? And the Chicken Super Burrito! It puts me a sleeper hold. Staff is great. Place is clean, and it's always busy. Luckily, theres the quick drive through. read more

YUM! I love love love the chicken taco salad here- it's cheap for the amount of food they give you and it is delicious!! Heard they're chicken sandwiches are good too:) read more

mmmmmm chicken tacos. I think these are what people come here for. I do see people come in to buy whole roasted chickens, so they must be good as well. The tacos come in crunchy or soft tortillas, so a bit of a throwback to eating school lunch tacos. Tacos here are pretty loaded, and good eats. read more

They steak burritos is nasty . The food is mediocre . I just go because it's convenient

I love their chicken tacos! Their rotisserie chicken is pretty good, too, but I'm a little thrown off by the fact that my friend found pubic hair in her food. Gross. I recently tried their chorizo breakfast burritos and seriously wish that I could eat them every day. read more

dang, when you drive by, the smell of chicken express just beckons you on over! the chicken is tasty and the coupon family deals are awesome! the chicken ranch snacker is soooo scrumptious and can hit the spot for a quick bite! yummy red velvet cupcakes! so soft, fluffy, and moist! the frosting is just right! read more

Open 24 hours, decent tacos and a great taco salad. The chicken is very tasting. Different options for sides, beans, rice, etc. Very inexpensive and a quick meal if you're ever in a hurry. I prefer soft taco so don't come here expecting soft they're hard shells with yummy cheese and chicken. read more

Fast and friendly service. The rostissere chicken is so moist and flavorful! Tasty, tasty tacos!

I think this place is the best in Vallejo! Their chicken dish with any side orders that you want is a good deal! Their prices are reasonable and I'm about to explore anything that they've got on their menu :) read more

I came here expecting good fast food for cheap. I got the taco salad and a couple soft tacos. The taco salad was just okay, nothing special. A little on the salty side, but hey it's fast food what do u expect? I will say that their customer service was great. I had ordered 2 soft tacos and they gave me crunchy ones. I told them and they changed got me two soft ones with no attitude. I would say this place is a 3.5 read more
