I've seen this place so many times when I drive by it but never stopped to eat until now. The place is not that big inside and it doesn't have outside seating which is ok. I was surprised they didn't have Torta's on the menu but that was okay because I came for the carnitas. I ordered the carnitas tacos and carnitas bowl. Our drinks were the Guava and Jamaica which both drinks were really good. The food came out shortly afterwards which was good. The carnitas meat was really tender, plenty of meat in it which is also good, a little crispy which I like it crispy so a little more would be good. The protein bowl was also good and huge which is good if your hungry. The Chicharrones was delicious, fresh, crunchy, and tasty. The service was good to, it wasn't that busy so that was good. I'd come back to try some Asada. read more

I'm so sad this business has gone downhill. It used to be my favorite place for carnitas, but the last time I was there, I ordered rib tacos and they combined them with tough, hard cartilage that was difficult to chew. I don't plan on going back. read more

Never any issues with my order. Everything taste delicious. My whole family enjoys the mixta.

I had got a burrito from up in there and I am not gonna lie,it was good. They had put a lot of meat up in that burrito! I don't know about the best carnitas in Vallejo,BUT it was a good portion and it did satisfy for the appetite. I feel like if they gonna claim the BEST carnitas, they gotta bring it up a little like a seasoning or real juicy or something. Because Vallejo got some damn good carnitas spots... just sayin. But I will probably be ordering there again read more

Service is absolutely terrible. Was in town for an errand decided to give this place a try. Upon coming in, a few people are waiting there's no one is line so we look above to check out the menu standing in front of the cashier (older lady). No greeting what so ever... fine. Two gentlemen come in apparently had a phone order to pick up. He proceeds to order more and begins to pay. Like did you really not see us there?? Walked out. read more

A Vallejo gem the prices are reasonable the food is good, if your looking for an easy dinner or trays for a crowd this is the place to come my favorite place to get horchata it's sooo good! The meat is flavorful and juicy , the salsa is good! Will definitely be back! read more

I ordered through door dash and got my food in a timely manor. The salsa ( mixta/ mix), was OK. The salsa lacked in overall flavor, although it was spicy and tasted better with the carnitas. The carnitas were good. I got the mixed carnitas. I do have to say that there were 5 large pieces of tendon in the mix. If it weren't for the big pieces of tendon and some smaller pieces too, I would have given 4 stars. Overall, I would order from here again. Maybe I'd switch to green sauce. read more

I used to loved this place, the best refried beans! However, the burrito Suck! Mostly rice a few beans and barely any meat!! We've had some other issues of them trying to past off a mixed meat instead just meat. So I'm Done!!! They will not get my money or business again!!! read more

I think I'll give this place 3.5 stars...this spot if for you if (a) you love carnitas and (b) you don't mind the grease! I think this may have been previously a fast food joint or something, so there are a few parking spots just for the joint. It's not the nicest part of town, but not bad during the day. They don't really have too many choices for other meats (chicken, lamb) except on weekends, so I would definitely come here mainly if you are a carnitas fan. We ended up getting 3 carnitas tacos ($8.25 for 3) and a carnitas quesadilla ($6.99). Only one person was in front of us with a takeout order, but we definitely had to wait closer to 20 minutes--slightly longer than usual for the standard mexican fare. When they finally came out, the tacos were piled with hand chopped carnitas, and the quesadilla was huge and oozing with cheese. The carnitas were definitely yummy--salty, soft, tender, and a good balanced amount of fatty bits! The quesadilla was definitely sitting in a pool of grease, While it was delicious, I did start thinking it was too much after 1/2 of it. The tacos also dripped grease but less. I think next time I might but just the carnitas by the pound and make my own tacos to tease out some of that grease. They also make chicharrones here! I didn't think I could stomach it after the carnitas but worth mentioning for those interested! read more

Id give this place a 50/50 star rating. The cashier/ ordering part was great ! We speak Spanish so everything went smooth. Sat down because we were eating indoors , took like 15 minutes to recieve the drink we ordered (horchata), which is odd because you don't have to do to much considering it's premade. Although the wait was enough to start making me question this place is was good horchata, well made! Another 30 minutes for our food a total of about 40 minute wait , when there is barely any people ! We finally got our burrito and quesadilla, totally freshly cooked it seemed! Even the meat it was delish ! Carnitas were great everything was good. The waitress service seemed busy , and never asked us if we needed anything to add that part! The price for 2 plates and drink was 25$! Which is a good price for vallejo and good food. Just the wait , and service couldve been better :) read more

There was a bit of a translation issue at first, but it got sorted out. I got the tacos and quesadillas. Both were ok, nothing special. Spicy orange salsa was great. Not the best carnitas in Vallejo, they're not even the best carnitas on Tennessee st. Older man with glasses took over on my order because the young girl didn't understand me too well. I took my order to go, but inside seemed clean enough. Wait time was short. I'd try this place again.. read more

Their beans will absolutely make u wanna slap ur grandma! It smells so amazingly porky in here, it's such a rush... I seriously get a lil high walking in :)) Solid carnitas, but I come here for the frijoles and recently turned one of my friends who actually makes some of my fave beans...and even she had to admit that these beans surpass all others. Best beans in the entire bay area!! read more

I want to give zero stars. I try not to write bad reviews but the burritos me and husband had were the worst burritos we have ever had. The meat was dry, the burrito was small, like a kids bean and cheese burrito when we ordered two super burritos. The size would not be an issue if the contents were good but it was awful. I took a few bites and could not eat anymore of it. Forgot to add it was SALTY. Salt lick salty. I even tried to give the meat to my dog and he would not touch it and that's not an exaggeration. I've had really good carnitas before and this ain't it. Bottom line, it was expensive, it was flavorless, dry, small. I would pass on this establishment. read more

Real good food. Portions of Carnitas are nice and meaty. The salsa bar tastes great. Overall a great spot in Vallejo. Big upgrade from their old location but the food is as good as I remember. Had their super burrito for the first time. Was always curious if their claim in their sign "Best carnitas in Vallejo" was true. Definitely not true. I'm no carnitas expert but I have tasted better carnitas than theirs. I would rate their carnitas a little below average. Their carnitas was not flavorful and was a bit dry. The burrito was cold and cheese was not melted. Did not really taste any distinct flavors whatsoever. Eating it just felt like a chore not an enjoyment. They sell pickled jalapeños in a tub which was ok not great. Super burrito carnitas and salsas was average at best, nothing special here. read more

I placed an order thru the phone and they told me it was going to be 20 minutes for a single burrito. I showed up 25 mins with giving them extra time. Once I got there, there is so pick up line. You have to wait in line where everyone orders plus they call numbers in between, so you could be in front but the previous people get their order first... once it was finally my turn to get charged they told me they haven't even started on my burrito and it will take an additional 10 minutes... I would not recommend if you do not wanna wait read more

Completely caught off guard with this place. Every restaurant at this location was always a bust, so trying this place out was never on my radar. So glad I was convinced to give it a try. There was a bit of a language barrier, but fortunately there was a customer who was kind enough to translate for us. It doesn't take away from the gracious customer service we received though. As for the food, we ordered the carnitas mixtas (to build our own tacos at home) & the patas en carnitas. Both were amazingly delicious, but the patas en carnitas... No words!!! We went on a week day, but there were a lot of items on the menu that were only available on the weekend. We will definitely be back & look forward to trying them. read more

Stood in line for about 15 mins we were the first in line. The worker at cash register was so rude. We tried to give her our order after 5 mins of just standing there but she told us to wait as she was busy giving out orders. As soon as we got out of line and headed for the door she yelled out NEXT PERSON. Last time we will ever go there. We made our way to La Tapatia that had a cheaper price per pound on the carnitas and they were Amazing! The rice and beans were really yummy as well. Plus the customer service was great. read more

Five stars for a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant specializing in carnitas?? Have I lost my mind? Perhaps another question is in order . What other restaurant in Vallejo has people lined out the door at 11:30 on a Sunday morning?? None except the marvelous Carnitas El Rincon. Fresh warm tender delicious pig in abundant quantity and economical costs. The carnitas are not the best you ever had but they are good. My mind has wondered to future excursions there where the carnitas may be transformed at home perhaps into wonderful pulled pork or Cuban sandwiches. They have lamb on Sundays and I want to sample it soon. read more

Flavor is good but my complaint is that I had an issue, I went in to buy carnitas cuz they had a deal. Buy 1lb or more and get 1/2 lb free. When I requested that special I was told I needed a coupon but no where on the Facebook page does it say that a coupon is required. It would be nice if you specified where to get the coupon from. So 5 starts for flavor but 2 starts customer service. We also ordered a paquete para fiestas over 100 dls and only to find out that our ordered was messed up once it was too late to fix it. read more

I don't know why yelp thinks I'm related to the owners or affiliated with the restaurant?! Is it because my name just sounds Hispanic? I'm not! I'm a customer and I have a raving review on my experience and the food. Please don't create unsolicited drama and remove my post, again! Geez! It was a waste of my time to upload the pics and give a long review only for it to have been removed. I again, do not know the owners or am I affiliated to the business! If they were my kin folks, then I should be entitled to a discount! None of that is happening over here. I pay full prices. This is legitimately my true review. They have awesome carnitas, they're not greasy and the fat has been delicately removed from the meat. I enjoyed the carnitas and the salsas. Ppl there were friendly and gave very generous portions. I'm a fan and have been back on several occasions. There's not too many places that know how to make good carnitas. This place is not good, it's great!!! My whole family enjoyed dinner from this place. I'm very cautious about greasy food, I felt good about the way the meat was prepared because it was on the healthy side (as healthy pork can get...lol) Yelp, if u take in to account all my other reviews. I'm very honest and NO, these aren't my relatives! I'm a local supporter for small mom and pop businesses. read more

I can only rate this on the carinitas that I got since shelter in place orders are in place, I can't say much about a dine in experience. The carnitas though, were super tasty. It's so nice to have this in Vallejo. I bought the carnitas and brought them home to make carnitas enchiladas; and let me tell you, they were delicious! 1 lb of carnitas (meat only) was enough to make 10 enchiladas for my husband and I. Definitely coming back, and looking forward to a dine in experience once things are normal again. read more

I've come here many times and they have always honored the yelp offer for the meal for four at $27, today the cashier claimed she didn't know how to change the price on her register. Came here for the 1st time last month. The food is very good. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back.

Carnitas are the last thing I need in my diet but it's nice to indulge every now and then. Today I didn't feel like cooking and I want something different from the usual. I drove by this place and stopped to grab a carnitas dinner for 2. They specialize in carnitas only so I figured they had to be good. I order a family meal 1 lb of carnitas, small rice/beans, salsa and tortillas and pineapple water. It was a good amount of food for 24 bucks. The meat was well seasoned and tender. My girlfriend loved the rice it was so flavorful and fresh. Even the salsa was great, they have a variety my favorite is the green. If you check in on Yelp on Monday or Tuesday you can get a 1/2 lb of carnitas for free with the purchase of a 1 lbs of carnitas (current check-in offer). read more
