Ok, first of all I am reviewing this for what it is. A no frills massage place. I'll start with what it is not. It's not fluffy robes and tranquil fountains. It is not a spa. But for me its the what I have been looking for since I moved to the Chi 12 years ago. An awesome yet still affordable massage! You can hear the creaks in the floor and occasionally other clients talking because the rooms are small and the walls don't block out the sound. But after carrying around my huge 21 month old I could have cared less, I just wanted too get rid of the kinks and pain without feeling guilty for spending a ton. I got 75 minutes for $77! So great. I had Carlos, who was great and clearly takes massage seriously. I will say that they could be more diligent in ensuring modesty. Some of the stretches he did without properly securing the sheet would have resulted in being more revealed than I am comfortable with if I had not kept on underwear because of the other yelp reviews I read. That being said, I felt that he knows what he is doing and is just trying to do a complete job of stretching, massaging and whatever else is necessary to get rid of the knots and pain. He addressed my gluts appropriately, it always seems a little weird to me to be massaged there but I wanted full body and there are big muscles and joints there that were sore so you just kinda have to get over it. Maybe a little extra training in ensuring clients modesty would not be remiss but overall I really appreciated the work he did and will definitely be back. Another piece of advice, if you normally like a deep massage think twice before you tell Carlos that! He is really strong pressure if you tell him that and I had to tell hem to go softer a bunch of times. I would much prefer that though, most therapists go way too soft so I would rather them start that way and I can tell them when to take it a little easier. Overall though I am just thrilled to find a nice inexpensive place to get a great massage. read more

More people should know about Chicago Touch. At $55 for 50 minutes it's much more affordable than a professional massage at most places. And if you ask for Michael, the owner, it's even more of a bargain. I've had a lot of massages before that are just about feeling good, but Michael goes beyond that to help you solve muscle and stress issues. I didn't know that back stress could be alleviated by working on particular muscles in the chest (it really worked) or that the Western approach of massaging from the top down doesn't always make as much sense as starting from the bottom up. He knows his stuff and I always come out of there relaxed and learning something new. read more

Interestingly, the massage I had here was better than any of the more expensive massages I've had in recent years. Fran was excellent and worked with me to give me a bit more pressure. The atmosphere is nice and soothing, surprising as the massage spaces are separated only by curtains. Definitely a must for the entry-level over-worked urban dweller! read more

Chicago Touch is an undercover gem - hesitant to write this review bc my experience has been so great and I don't want Marco to get too busy for me. On the topic of Marco, he's the best. One of the best massages I've ever had, and (one time I got 3 massages in 3 days). Go for a deep tissue, it's not relaxing but it's worth it. No frills place, but Marco will mold you like you are dough and rid any aches, pains, and tension. read more

I was searching for a cheap place to get a massage and came across chicago touch. I made an appointment online (you have to create an account and use a credit card to hold the appointment but they don't charge the card and the website is secure) and randomly chose Allison. Now the site says to arrive 10 minutes early so that you can fill out a short questionnaire. well I was 5 minutes late and expected for her to be put out because when scheduling online you see what slots are booked, closed, and open so I knew that she had an appointment right after me, but she was as nice as can be. Some of the other reviews say you get what you pay for and how there are only curtains separating beds so I wasn't expecting much but it was a lot nicer, calmer and more private then other reviewers let you think. What it is is a large room with a high ceiling that has cubicle-like wooden structures creating separate spaces with a curtain acting as a door. the entire place is very very dimly lit, a lot more then most massage places, with a few candles for mood lighting and a large speaker anchored to the ceiling playing soothing music. I really dug the space and the only noise I heard was some one spraying some plants with water, which I did not find bothersome. Now to Allison, SHE WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD! I've had tons of massages for the past 10 years, i'm talkin massage therapists that work out of chiropractors offices and fancy mario tricoci signature massages and Allison from Chicago Touch was by far the best i've ever had. My body literally vibrated at the end. I felt high. In a good way. I had horrible knots in my shoulders and upper back and she worked the crap out of them. Now at first it hurt, a lot, but if you get massages you know that if you endure a little pain at the beginning then you reap the benefits at the end. The entire time she kept telling me that if it hurt to let her know and she'll adjust the pressure but i had been in so much pain for the past month that I knew that this is what I needed. and after a short while the pain subsided and it was heaven. at the end I felt amazing. I only wish you could stay and take a nap afterwards. I highly recommend this place for a decently priced massage. But make sure you get there early because there is only street parking and it is mostly metered so bring some quarters. read more

after my last two massage therapists moved to india and the ladies at the pain stop started acting weird about using the credit card machine by hiding it under a magazine and craning their heads over the counter to see if i had cash in my wallet, i decided to try chicago touch. when i called to schedule my first appointment, the receptionist was super sweet and guided me to manny, whose firm touch and gentle personality perfectly suit my needs. after my first appointment, he suggested i wear loose fitting clothing so he could do more thai massage which involves a lot of pressure points and stretching. went back yesterday and it was fantastic. hooked! not only are the massage therapists good at what they do, you gotta love the concept of making massage affordable for the overworked and underpaid. pricing tends to be about a $1/min, which is less expensive than anywhere else i've been. hence, this is THE place to go if you consider massages essential body maintenance. read more

BEST Sports Massage ever!! If you are an athlete (I'm training for the Half Marathon and play tennis often) in need of a stretching yet relaxing rub-down -Go See Carlos! He is outstanding! What they lack in fancy Urban Oasis-like appearance and post-massage shower they more than make up for in price ($45/hr) and staff performance. Also, I called the day before and they were able to take me. WARNING Ladies - if you are modest be advised that you may jump in and out of your comfort zone at times. I've never had a guy masseur before Carlos and got over it once I realized how great he is. However, part of his excellent skills require him to move your top-half in positions that might make you exposed for brief moments. I found him to be a total professional though. read more

In regards to the negative feedback on Chicago Touch, I must say I do not concur. The staff was very pleasant, and professional. The massage was excellent. The lady who did the massage seemed to be very experienced, and knowledgeable of her job. I had a strained muscle when I went for the massage, and the next day after the massage I felt better. So in regards of the negative feedback about Chicago Touch I agree to disagree, and that you cant please all of the people all of the time, and some people you can't please any of the time. I purchased a yelp deal from here and was very excited to get my massage. When I got there, they let me know the massage therapist was running 15 minutes late...umm, something that would have been nice to know BEFORE I arrived so that I didn't have to sit around and wait. The masseuse was friendly and the rooms were cozy, but the next day, I felt like I had whiplash in my whole body and a major kink in my neck. I couldn't get rid of the pain in my neck for almost a week. No bueno. read more

I get massages a lot, so I decided to go to this place since it's much cheaper than the other places I frequent. I had a tight back and a sore neck when I went in. I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders and explained all this to the masseuse working with me. She was really hard on me, I walked out in more pain than I went in with. i know I should have said something but I feel weird saying anything while getting a massage. It never really felt good during the massage either. I thought maybe she would be tough at first and then more relaxing. I went in for a sweddish which is supposed to be relaxing but I think she decided to do deep tissue without telling me. I wish it had at least helped my shoulders and neck but it didn't. read more

I was looking for a relaxing and spacious place that excelled in couples massages. Chicago Touch was exactly that! I was able to make an appointment very easily. It was very easy to park which was a great start as most Chicagoians know! The staff was very friendly and made my boyfriend and I very comfortable. This was his second massage and was nervous because he had a bad first experience. The room was great and very relaxing. The massage was one of the best I've had-ever! My boyfriend was so relaxed and was in a great mood after. Overall 5 stars and we will be going back ASAP. read more

This was absolutely the best massage I have ever had! I brought my sister in for her birthday with a Gilt city coupon. I'm always a little nervous that when using a discount voucher you may get slighted. That was so NOT the case. Angelica gave me the best hour massage that incorporated hot stones, scented oils, and a combination of deep tissue and thai massage styles. She was unbelievably good! I had a membership at Massage Envy for the past two years and had many different massage therapists during that time - Angelica had techniques that were new to me and very effective at relieving chronic back pain. Our family, the four of us have been going to Chicago Touch since they were located on Ashland Ave. We all enjoy different therapists, and have always been pleased with our experiences. It is reasonably priced and we have always purchased a package which makes it even more economical. Marco's deep tissue and stretches is unparalleled for my aching body as Cassandra said. Michael is great for getting into my hips and loosening everything up as I sometime feel my hips are cemented together and I'm in tremendous pain. Today was my second visit to Chicago Touch. On my first visit I was scheduled to have Marco as my therapist, due to a scheduling mix up, I had a different therapist, who provided average service. However, because of the change, the receptionist told me that the next 50 minute massage I booked would actual be credited for a 75 minute session. Today I returned for that 75 minute session and I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED! Angelica is the truth! It was one of (if not the) best massages I've ever had. I had a deep tissue massage. She used hot stones and deep stretches creating a blissful experience! I will definitely be back to see Angelica and plan to book a couple's massage to see if Marco is also as good as all the yelp reviews say. She asked me what I hoped to get out of the session and left me feeling healthy, happy, and invigorated -- exactly what I had asked for! The ambiance ruins this place. Yes, it is the most affordable (reputable) massage in Chicago, but you would be better off spending a little more money and going somewhere else. The partitioned rooms mean that you hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the other rooms. This is very distracting and makes it impossible to relax. Be sure to get there early. The clock starts running from the time that your appointment was supposed to start, not the time that your massage actually begins. read more

A few weeks ago I took my boyfriend here for a couples massage. It was hands down the best massage appointment we've ever had. Marco was my boyfriend's therapist and he worked out all the stress and pressure my bf was feeling from doing crossfit. My bf was beaming afterwards. Dan and Marco gave my husband and I our couples massage, which was fabulous. The lobby aesthetics, music and staff were pleasant and relaxing. I hope that the rooms will get an upgrade or a completion since the move and be more warm aesthetically and better lighting, by which I mean less. The concrete walls and ceilings would be less harsh if the rooms were darkened with just low lighting. The massage was the best I have ever had and left feeling marvelous. i'm a non-practicing massage therapist (i.e. i do different work now) but i still like a good massage. i was impressed with the work i had here. i was even more impressed with the price tag. if you want a spa experience, this is not the place for you. you're basically in one big room that is separated into small areas. the area you're in is private but not sound proof--you have to talk to the therapist in the lobby about what you want as they try to keep it quiet inside. i did get a little tickled with the attitude of some of the therapists between sessions. they acted as if they were preparing to go into brain surgery. they seemed to take themselves very seriously and it felt very showy. all said and done, i felt better and it was the cheapest massage by a legit therapist i know of in the city. read more
