I was very disappointed.I had booked a lymphatic drainage massage, and my expectations where from my previous experiences were they massage me deep pressure and open up my lymph nodes for drainage. Here the masseuse mentioned they use some led device and they touch the device like gently to open the lymph nodes....Never had that before! So 5 minutes of masseuse doing the LED thing, and I am explained to her about my expectation, and she said ok I can do a manual lymph drainage, again she started massaging me with oil like super lightly, at that point I had to change my massage to a regular massage, and the pressure she was applying was a gentle touch and not massage at all....after a lot of back and forth she finally understood and gave me a deep pressure massage, but it was still subpar! If you go here, please make sure to ask them before hand otherwise its a whole lot of time waste! Masseuse was nice and polite, but had her headphones on the whole time and definitely took her own sweet time to bring the oil and massage every time she had to leave the table. There was no staff at the reception, so I had to wait almost 15 minutes for someone to check me out after my massage. Oh also parking here is a nightmare! Uber for sure! How is this dude still operating? I came to Chicago Touch a few years ago. Had three sessions with a very focused therapist who gave me what I needed. Years later I was hoping the same professional was on staff. Instead of being honest and saying they don't work there anymore, they booked the appointment, took my money and when I got there it was Mike the owner. Since I wasn't being refunded I took the session only to be lectured by this guy about how the world should be. I miss my therapist and wish I had their card. I've been a Therapist and healer for over 30 years and I really appreciate good energy work so I booked a session here hoping for a positive experience and instead walked out of here agitated and full of marks all over my face from being forced to lay facedown for a full 75 minute treatment. My Therapist "David" asked me what my issues were today and I explained i woke up with a headache and severe sinus pain. I told him repeatedly my neck and jaw were both extremely tight and that I suffer from TMJ. In fact I told the receptionist that I was seeking someone who would specialize in Myofascial release. Honestly I don't think the receptionist understands what myofascial release is because she initially booked me with Alyssa and then called me 5 minutes later to ask me if I'm ok with a male therapist. My gut intuition should have been to stick with their female therapist because their male therapist has no listening skills. I told him my neck and scalp were main concerns because of sinus pain and TMJ but he just kept using his knuckles and scraped them repeatedly over my sore ribcage without giving me a break. He never once allowed me to turn over during the session and honestly I was shocked when the session ended with me laying facedown. My face was slammed against the face cradle but instead of soft cushioning my skin was rubbed raw by the metal bar supporting the face cradle. The therapist also told me his specialty was thai massage. I told him thai massage is administered from a mat on the floor and he disagreed with me and told me the stretches are done from off a table! I've taken courses from Zen massage in downtown Evanston and I've personally received thai massage in the past and they are done on a mat from the floor. I highly doubt my Therapist had formal training in tmj or sinus drainage because he never let me turn over. He skipped over my feet, my entire face and just kept using a plastic cupping tool up and down my back and using relentless hard pressure. When the massage was over I went directly to the bathroom and noticed deep creases all over my forehead from the metal rod my face was continually pushed into. I was never offered water once and I always offer my clients water before, during and after a therapy. Imagine how angry I was when I saw deep marks all over my face. David also accused me of trying to get a FREE massage here when I asked to speak with the manager. I wanted her to see the scrapes on my face and she said the marks should disappear within the day. Then I told her my main issue was sinus pain. I thought part of the session would be dedicated to a bit of back work and that I'd eventually be allowed to flip over to address my neck and jaw. It's apparent to me the male therapist they gave me isn't acquainted with bruxism and sinusitis patients. This is a chiropractic office and when management refused to acknowledge my disappointment and one of their chiropractic doctors laughed at me I am definitely not recommending this clinic to anyone seeking alternative healing on any level. I can't believe how unprofessional my therapist was today. He literally accused me of trying to receive free services when I provided honest feedback. I have no clue why they had such a high ranking on Google based on my horrible massage experience. You never force someone to lay facedown for a full 75 minutes when they suffer from breathing issues and TMJ. read more

*BEWARE OF THE OWNER, MICHAEL* I have been apprehensive about posting this review in fear that he will try to reach out to me/find me, but I want to warn others to save someone else from this experience. A few months ago, I saw Michael for a massage and he spent the full hour TALKING. But it's not JUST that he was talking... it's what he was saying... Similar to other reviewers, he rambled on about conspiracy theories parallel to QAnon and shared completely bizarre stories and beliefs (how he's training to be the fastest male sprinter in the world (?), called the pandemic the "plandemic", called 9/11 "9-1-1", how the "darkness" (?) took control of the country when JFK was assassinated, etc...). There was not a moment of silence... truly crazy and, frankly, scary experience. As a woman, being alone and naked on a table with a man saying CRAZY things to you is extremely uncomfortable... I honestly felt traumatized and it took me a while to stop thinking about it. I didn't say anything at the time because I was in a bit of shock that this was happening and in an obviously vulnerable position. I honestly feel bad for Michael... he seems brainwashed and in desperate need of some friends, but its not right to make his clients pay to listen to his absolute craziness when they're there to relax. My partner was in another room getting a massage from a female therapist and he had a lovely experience. But the fact the Michael is the owner and this was my experience really deters me from supporting his business. Consider yourself warned.... read more

Been fighting with tennis/golf elbow and some carpel tunnel like pain for years. Doc said "Shots, if it still hurts, surgery." Sorry to say the pain was still there after the injections and I really didn't want surgery. A friend is a chiropractor and recommended Ning for massage and acupuncture. Woohoo! I had the owner Michael as my massage therapist. I've had sport massages before and while this was a little unusual, I did feel better the next day. That being said, Michael spent the entire 50 minute massage sharing his opinions, all of which align with QAnon. I'll admit, I didn't say anything because what he was saying was so outlandish (he created a massage, will train prostitutes in South America to give the massage and remove the sex-addict tendencies from the customer; the Covid vaccine is only so the government can make money-Hydroxychloroquine was good enough and the government just burned piles of it during the pandemic to make people take the vaccine, etc). Oy. I left Chicago Touch whilst covered in oil and waiting for the impending doom of massage toxins to overtake me. This is because I was neither offered a shower at the conclusion of my massage nor was I offered water to avoid the toxin takeover. My masseuse just... left the room. Truthfully, under the sheets, slathered with oil and in my skivvies, being left without so much of a "do you remember the way out?" left me feeling pretty uncomfortable. Setting the appointment up was a breeze once I finally got in touch with the facility. Granted, during the time that the Yelp Deal came out, I left for a week in Nashville and then Snowzilla hit but I pretty much called everyday and could never reach anyone. The phone would ring four times and then go to voicemail. Finally, I got lucky and got a person on the phone. I explained that I had a Yelp Deal and wanted to arrange an appointment. She was courteous, set me up with the next available appointment and reminded me that tipping was based on the original price. Cool. The day before the appointment, I got a call from Chicago Touch reminded me about the details. Again, cool. On my way there, two major streets were closed down due to CFD and CPD activity and I thought I was going to be late. Again, friendly receptionist to the rescue. She made a note and all was well. I wound up arriving a minute before my appointment, filled out the paperwork, handed over the Deal, and met my masseuse. She led me back to the room and looked over my paperwork. She laughed when she saw I was here for a Deal. I played it off, but felt a little uncomfortable. She left me so I could get changed, came back and the magic happened. Or, didn't. I received one of the most arduous, yet tepid, massages of my life. It was as though she was bored throughout and it didn't get better. She rubbed my back and legs, dropped my boxers a little lower than I expected, rubbed a little more, elbowed me a few times, dripped oil on my back, stood on me, flipped me over, Vulcan-nerve pinched me, put a night mask on my face, lifted my legs a few times, slathered some more oil on me, said 'Thanks.', and left. I didn't know what had just happened. I didn't feel relaxed or released. I felt confused, stank of oil and was thirsty. I put my clothes on, (eventually) found my way to the front counter, lied about what a nice time I had to the sweet receptionist, left a more-than-fair tip, and walked into the fifteen degree weather and icy streets that I call home. I don't know what happened. My masseuse was definitely not in to the session and made mention of my Deal (with a laugh). I don't know if one has to do with the other, but it happened. 3.5 stars, A-Okay Plus! My deep tissue massage with Becky was excellent. She's a great therapist who responded to my request to get some knots out while promoting relaxation. Mission completed! Chicago Touch has so many types of massage, healing and acupuncture options, surely there is something for everyone here. And $55/50 minutes is about as good as it gets. They could use some permanent signage, outside and inside. Being in this building since November, customers shouldn't have to be left wondering if they've got the right building or wandering once inside. I'm sure they'll take care of that soon, though. Inside is mostly an Oasis of calm. The rooms are still kind of barebones, although the music was very relaxing. But overall, I did lose myself and left the outside world outside. I just think a few more improvements to the rooms and signage will make Chicago Touch the perfect place to return again and again, on par with pricier spas downtown. read more

Ahhh..Nothing like a nice massage!!! Me and my lady decided we would go and get a couples massage as our perspective jobs were getting the best of us. I made my reservation via a Bloomspot special and I noticed everyone on Yelp mentioned how awesome Becky was. Becky was unavailable the night we chose :( We will meet at some point Becky as I heard you know how to do the damn thang when it comes to a massage...lol They placed us in a nice sized room for two with nice, relaxing music. The girl that rubbed me down did a fairly decent job for 50 minutes as I was able to relax and take myself to another world. The guy that rubbed my girl down worked wonders on her (should I be jealous...lol) as he worked out all the kinks and left her feeling almost like new. The one thing that did bother me is that like Johnny T said in his review; we were not offered water at the end of our session. I saw the cooler over there, but you would expect them to offer. The guy that massaged my lady was very informational and helpful after we were finished. He was definitely the more polite and friendly of the two. I would def come back, especially if this Becky woman is really that good. read more

Wow, my experience here was excellent! First off the facilities: the rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. The street parking is easy to find. I had some provided chamomile tea before my steam shower and the receptionist was friendly. Setting up the appointment earlier that week over the phone was quick and easy. The steam shower before the massage is wonderful. The heat and moisture really relaxed my muscle tone and prepares you for the massage. While I was in the shower I also took some time to do a few stretches to really loosen up. The massage therapist: Allison. Is. Awesome. Personally, I prefer deep tissue massage way over the gentler kinds like Swedish massage. I find deep tissue much more effective in relieving muscle tension and Allison DELIVERS. She uses a good depth of pressure and really finds the tight trigger points. Allison definitely hit my target areas like the upper back, neck, and between the shoulder blades. I have been doing a lot of desk/computer work (more than 12 hrs a day) this month preparing for Boards and mainly do sports that use a lot of pulling forces (swimming, BJJ, sailing) so the deep pressure, almost to a point where it hurts, is just what I'm looking for to knead out the tension. As an aside, the Peoria Butcher Shop, an awesome place to buy meat, is a few blocks down. I didn't do it today, but it dawned on me that a solid MAN-spa day would include getting tenderized by Allison, then picking up some steaks to tenderize and then grill. The most celebrated therapist is always busy, but instead of rebooking the appointment, Mike the owner just volunteers himself on you. Kinda intense in a negatively intimate way. The lady on the website, Ning, admits that she isn't a massage therapist and will try to put needles in you when she gets tired. Pure BS. I heard that Mark and the two younger women are great. But the people who answer the phone try to direct you to who is available not who you request. I know they trying to profit but good customer will wait for a good therapist to have an opening. If you scroll trough the reviews you will find another similar review written by a girl named Amy. She was spot on describing her massage experience with Michael. This is a warning for women/ men getting a massage from him. I just had a lymphatic drainage massage from Michael and felt so creeped out! Before the massage he showed me the lights he was going to use, he demonstrated them on himself (his own skin) and he said "oh I guess I shouldn't touch my own skin with these first" (for cleanliness reasons). I had hoped he would disinfect them before using them on me and he didn't t!! I was so grossed out. I also told him that I had open wounds and had some drainage from surgery and he pretended to listen but obviously didn't because the machine hit a wound and sent an electric shock through my body, it was so painful. He goes "oh yeah if there is any liquid on your body that will happen" ..so if he knew that I had drainage and was so "knowledgeable" of this, why didn't he prevent me from Literally getting an electric shock on an open wound?? He fully knew there was liquid on my body, he didn't do anything to prevent this. It was so painful and he didn't even apologize. All he cared about was hearing himself talk. He just kept talking about his nonsense weird diet and alkaline tea. He literally rambled on and on about his weight, keto diet, and his hormones the entire time. As he was massaging my legs he said "my hormones make feel like a 14 year old boy again." I was so weirded out and disgusted. It was unprofessional and inappropriate. He didn't shut up the entire time. This massage was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in my life. I would never recommend this to anyone. I left feeling violated. The lady at the front desk also tried to rip me off. I prepaid and then she charged me full price.. I still have chills up my spine thinking about Michael. Another member here who finds the high ratings of this place odd. I got a Gilt voucher for a couples 50 min massage and we had David and Jenn(Jess?). My husband and I agreed afterwards that it was the oddest worst massage we've ever gotten. And we're regular spa and massage people. The massage movements just didn't provide any relief to the actual knots we had. Just a lot of motions but it's sort of like asking a kid to massage you. They'll do the job but without expertise. True masseuses know what really relaxes people and what feels soothing yet relieves muscle tension. It was just odd. We left feeling completely unrelaxed and can't wait to go to another place to really get these knots out! Do yourself a favor and go to a real spa. Or Bliss. read more

Let me start out by saying that I never write reviews but, I was really really disappointed with the service. I am very picky about my massages so I chose the place I thought had the highest ratings and the whole experience was a nightmare. My appointment started at 3:30 and the therapist didn't start the appointment until 3:50... and when she came in she smelled like cigarette smoke, which is really unpleasant when you're trying to relax for a massage. I thought it would all be ok when the massage started, and boy was I wrong. The therapist was rubbing her index finger over my back over and over again (with extremely hard pressure which felt really uncomfortable). It was the oddest, worst massage I have ever experienced. I'm giving 3 stars which should be 1 but the masseur I had is saving this rating. I had an absolutely fantastic massage by Marco. I didn't realize how tense I was until the massage was over and I felt like a new person. Marco applied the perfect amount of pressure to my arms and legs which were my most tense areas. I was looking forward to finally having someone I could come back to. I say WAS because my after experience was absolutely unacceptable. I've worked in the customer service industry for 8+ years and 99.9% of the time when an employee makes a mistake, the company takes the hit and accepts their losses. I was feeling relaxed and great when I received a call and it turns out to be who I assume is the manager but he wouldn't give me his name. He asks me if he can charge my card more because I received additional minutes on my massage and he needs to compensate my masseur. I'm in absolute shock because 1. When I booked the appointment with the receptionist I informed her that I had a Gilt City Voucher for 50 minutes. We confirmed it. Then at checkout when I wanted to leave a tip on my card, I handed the male at the front desk my phone so he could verify my Gilt City voucher which reads "50 minute massage". If you're following along at this point, that's twice where two different employees were made aware that the voucher that I purchased was 50 minutes. If I was asked when I was at checkout when I presented my voucher to the guy at the front desk, I would have had no problem at all paying the additional amount but to call me 20 minutes after I've already left to ask me to pay extra is in my opinion, unacceptable. That's like working in a retail store and realizing after the customer left that you didn't ring up an item. Are you going to track the person down and charge them for your mistake? No, you would not. I would have made this place my regular go to but I do not want to come back regardless of how great Marco was. Note to people who want to get a massage here, don't relax. I've been beaten! I've had back problems most of my life, and several deep tissue massages over the last 10 years or so. Heather was not afraid to put some muscle into it, and I really needed to go home and recuperate afterwards, lying prone and drinking lots of water. The prices are affordable enough for me to finally start a regular regiment to get the old spine back in order. The rooms are separated, but with the walls stopping short of the ceiling, you can hear others shuffling around and whispering a little bit, but it didn't bother me in the least. read more

Chicago Touch's new location, on Lake Street, completely eliminates any of the noise concerns of the old location. The new place is well laid-out, extremely mellow, and just plain calming. The music is much more consistent in noise and tone. The new massage rooms have adjustable lighting - providing good light for the therapist without blinding you in the process. The loft layout can be a little cool at times, but a nice blanket easily mitigates any chill. Steam shower is available - haven't taken advantage of that yet, but man, that's cool. Restrooms are kept very clean and tidy. The ambiance of the new location is much more of a spa, but prices have remained steady. I'm very impressed. Any scheduling issues I experienced prior to my earlier review have not been repeated. I'm delighted with the front desk staff - Jade and Megan always sound happy to hear from me and are always very friendly when I come in. I've been seeing Heather W. consistently for a while (a year plus?) and I rave and rave and rave about her. She is intuitive and very conscientious. She truly wants to make the massage the best it can be for you. She's been sensitive to injuries I've had and very helpful in the healing process. Highly, highly recommend Heather. Parking on Friday nights can be a little hit-or-miss, but that certainly isn't Chicago Touch's fault. read more

Thanks yelpers for this one. You never let me down. Did a lot of research before choosing a place for a massage. My profession leads to a lot of back strain and such, and a pain doctor that works with me told me, you really need to get a massage. So i love deep tissue massages- not the type for you to fall asleep, but rather ones to really loosen your muscles properly and that you feel some soreness afterwards for the next couple of days. I stopped in on a Saturday and was able to easily book in person for the next day, though you can book online as well. I had a 75 minute massage which was exactly what i needed. I didn't choose a masseuse, but the lady in the front suggested a male due to the fact that i was requesting a deep tissue massage. Marco was really great, and when I showed interest in exactly what he was doing, he explained things to me. I am moving soon but hope to be back one more time before I leave. read more

This one goes out to the lady who felt violated. While in no way am I disregarding how you felt, I think that getting a massage involves all parts of the body unless you specify otherwise. I am not a friend nor am I doing this as a favor to anyone, I just felt inclined to share how I felt after reading some reviews. I think being in the service industry is a crap shoot, you can never please everyone 100%, but you can try. I actually happen to see Dan and felt inclined to post this review since I think hes a really great massage therapist who listens and has a huge arsenal of techniques so I never feel like he is just repeating the same old massage on me. When I make the appointment I make sure to tell him to focus on my right shoulder and hips. He does but also works other areas, I suppose the goal is overall balance. Anywho I'm just really happy that a place like Chicago Touch exists. The price, mixed with the skill and attention to detail is great. Yes the atmosphere is a little less soundproof and less like a fancy zen spa, but that doesn't really bother me. The space is unique, the owners are genuine and the therapists are legit. The entire vibe is laid back and right up my budget-friendly alley....the more minutes you buy, the cheaper they are. And you can share :) Ask for the Access Energy treatment, it was really excellent. (I get migraine headaches, so I am always looking for alternative treatments!) I bought my man a couples massage for Christmas a year ago as a Yelp deal. By January of this year I finally gave in to the cold stare of the Yelp deal deadline fast approaching. I mention the deadline in the hopes that it will somehow justify my later insensitivity... Cut to Wednesday, January 18th, 2012. I call on this day to book our massage for Friday after work. It seems like it will be a wonderful way to end our week. Sure, there is snow in the forecast, but a little snow never scared a Chicagoan, right? On Friday, a very nice woman from the Chicago Touch office called to confirm that we would still be there in light of the snowstorm. Since I was planning on taking the Metra, and my husband was going to take the El, I figured we would be fine. I didn't really think about the inconvenience to our masseuses. The deadline, remember? Anyway, we both made it there in time (just barely), and we received delightful massages from therapists Becky and Michael. I was very impressed with my massage from Michael, as he focused on relaxing me and working out the tension in my neck and shoulders. I felt like I was in professional and talented hands. Both my husband and I were very pleased with the overall experience. However, the kicker is this... after our massages, my husband's therapist Becky offered to give us a ride home since she lives in our neck of the woods. We gratefully accepted. Until this point, I hadn't really realized that they both had to slog down in the snowstorm in order to pamper us. I'm not sure if I thought they slept in the place, or were absorbed into the walls at night, or what. Only then did I realize that even if they had other appointments at Chicago Touch that afternoon, most of them had probably canceled. One massage here and I immediately opted to buy the 500 minute package. Marco is the man. If you want a real deep tissue massage, he's unparalleled. Many massage therapists go too light despite my pleads, simply because they worry they'll hurt me. I told Marco I wanted it painfully deep (in the most appropriate way possible....), and he totally delivered. He's not afraid to move you around, either- incredible stretching and extensions. Chicago Touch was my monthly massage spot while living in Chicago. Every massage therapist there is good, but I always went to Allison. I'm not going to lie, life has been pretty crappy for me lately. And if I wasn't poor I would live in a spa. To me, massages are one of the greatest things on earth, they are just really expensive. As perhaps the one nice thing the universe has thrown at me lately, Yelp started offering Yelp Deals (like a groupon) and one was for Chicago Touch. A 50 min massage for $33 was too good to pass up, and I needed it stat. The staff here is very friendly, the receptionist is helpful and polite. While I was filling out my paperwork I heard her dealing with someone on the phone that was asking a million questions and being generally annoying. I would have been curt but she was very kind and answered all of the persons questions (some multiple times). My appointment was with Anya who is a sweetheart. We discussed the areas I wanted focused on and she was great about taking time for those areas. She was also great about asking how the pressure was and whether I was comfortable. I will be back to see her again, no question. Since they have moved they now offer an option of a steam shower. You can have it for 30 min before or after your massage and it's $9. I have a feeling I will be availing myself of this option sooner rather than later. I love that their pricing, 50 minutes is $55 which is shockingly affordable for Chicago. read more

I'm a massage-addict. I've had numerous massages in several countries, including a very naked Turkish bath massage (everyone was naked, including my 300 lb. masseuse) where *everything* was scrubbed and a Peruvian massage where *every* muscle was rubbed (there are muscles in my chest, stomach, bottom and inner thighs, after all). However, I never felt as though the line to inappropriateness was crossed before I visited Chicago Touch. A few times during my massage, I thought that my masseur must be able to see a certain string. That is *not* a normal thought one should have during a massage! My breasts were completely visible at different times (I finally grabbed at the sheet--serenity be damned), and my most private area was...grazed...twice. Though normally an assertive type, I found myself naked in someone else's territory and kept quiet, thinking that it was only 50 minutes. My advice to the ladies? Keep your panties on even if you feel like a prude for doing so. And request a female. Here's the strange thing: I would probably recommend them to friends, though with warnings. You really can't beat the price and the sounds from other cubicles really didn't bother me. ** UPDATE ** The owner has contacted me for the name of the masseur and has since assured me that he has been retrained in all things modesty. (Retraining instead of firing is seriously disturbed. I could sue. Moron.) ** UPDATE June 2012 ** I am STILL getting private messages from women to whom this is happening and I just found out it happened to an acquaintance recently. It seems to be the same masseur. It sickens me that he is still employed there. After reports of the same thing FIRE this man. To this day I cannot get a massage from a male and this experience happened several years ago. read more

This place is awesome! I'm giving it five stars because I just love it. The mission statement of the business is great and they achieve just that. Affordable massage for everyday people. If you are looking for an overly pampered spa experience this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place that is very nice, clean, great massage therapist, great prices and great service. This is the place. This was my first massage. I decided to check this place out because of all of the reviews here on Yelp and I'm glad I did because it was amazing. I can't see myself dropping $100 on a fancy schmancy pampering massage place. I just wanted a good rub down and for my back and shoulders not to hurt so bad. Samina was a badass (she's not listed on the website, but I thought she was great). It was $45 for 50 minutes and it was totally relaxing. Yes, the ceilings are open so you can hear people in the other rooms, but I found myself so relaxed that I zoned them out anyhow. Chicago Touch was totally worth it. I visited Chicago Touch yesterday for their promotional 100min massage for $85.00. I actually love massages and I was in need of some TLC after work and something to soothe my muscles. I met with Dan (I requested him after all of his glowing reviews here). This is what I can say about Dan: He seems to be kind and he has a pleasant voice. Upon arrival, I was greeted by him, he asked me what brought me in. I mentioned what was reflected on my intake sheet. My shoulders, neck, and lower back (remember these three areas as this story progresses). I undressed down to my undies as instructed and hopped on the massage table. The atmosphere was initially soothing. I enjoyed the dim lighting and the tranquil music. I definitely thought this was going to be the massage of the year (I had high hopes). I also have a petite frame, so I really anticipated that a male massage therapist could really work into my muscles.....(detracting....) So the massage began with one side of my body....arms, side, leg, foot, pressure point holding....the other side of my body with the repeated massage- I assumed this was to loosen up my muscles and joints. Fair enough. But then he started working on my butt. I didn't specify that area at all. But then I also figured that it was apart of the full loosening up of my body until my neck shoulder and lower-back work began. Again, I stress that I think Dan is a genuinely nice guy. I do. However, he spent an unusual amount of time on my butt. Pressure pointing it, doing some heat friction massage on it, doing the mashed potato...whatever. But I got a little annoyed. Then I became suddenly distracted by what was going outside my massage room....someone walking around, then it sounded like they dropped a bowl filled with something, doors opening closing. The people above could be heard by the floorboards creaking. Arrrgghh! I started to get paranoid that my time was ticking down and my neck and back hadn't really been touched! Then Dan brought out the oil (I said in my head that if this stuff goes anywhere near my rear, that I was outta there). Dan started with pressure points/pinching of the muscle up my spine, then my neck, my armpit, elbow, wrist, hands. I then was asked to flip to laying on my back and he administered some peppermint smelling ointment to help with my aching joints which I started to feel (I think too much pressure pointing). Personally, I became very nauseated from the peppermint smell. It was too strong and I became suddenly agitated that the stuff got all in my hair. So Alas, I buildup the nerve and ask him if he can just focus on my shoulder and neck and I'm much more comfortable laying on my stomach. That's when i was informed that I only had 10mins left!!! The last 10minutes were spent yet again with pressure pointing my neck. I left never feeling like I got a massage at all. I felt near tears, a tiny bit violated, and more stressed then when I got there. I think despite my experience, Dan probably is good for some. This just did NOT work for me. I wanted a massage, not acupressure. Oh well...I will try somewhere else, I suppose. read more
