Her office is located on the top floor of a building in Rogers Park with free street parking right in front. She asked me questions before the session began, provided me with water, and even had me choose the lotion or oil scent of my preference. She told me that I will be spending most of the time lying on my sides (because of my belly) and that she uses hot stones during the massages. I never experienced them before but it sounded good to me! Overall the massage was great & I left feeling relaxed. So relaxed I came back another 2 times during weeks 34 and 36! She schedules clients far enough apart that you get the full time and maybe even a little extra if you have a real problem area to address. Her sessions are long because she uses a variety of modalities and incorporates a lot of Thai yoga stretching into her work for your whole body with emphasis on any trouble areas you discuss or are discovered during the session. Laurie also places emphasis on the whole being. She wants to get to know her clients and sooth your mind as well as your body. I have been going for massage therapy for 35 years. I have never found anyone better. Even at fancy spas, I am so spoiled now that I always am left wanting more. I think 60 minutes is too short and most therapists lose interest before the rare 90 minute session is over. Laurie is different.
