My friend and I opted for the couples massage as it was a better deal than getting 2 individual massages. My masseuse, Amy, was wonderful! She was the tiniest lady but boy were her hands strong!! She was able to rub the knots out in my back and shoulders and asked me which type of pressure I preferred. I also got the hot stone at the end and it was great. I was surprised by the pressure (felt deep tissue) but I really wanted medium. I actually needed deep tissue, but I am a chicken so it was all good when she really got deep into those knots. It may not be a "fluffy" place like some of the other places, but you will walk out in so much less pain. I have chronic trap/shoulder pain and have actually been able to stop going to physical therapy and getting trap tox because of Linda. So I found Top Feet Massage on Groupon. They had a 1 hr massage for $40 a piece, so I bought 2 massages 1 for me & 1 for my wife. Since she's off on Wednesday we went today 03/06/24. Top Feet Massage is located @ 2050 W Belmont Ave in Chicago. Street Parking is somewhat limited so we parked on a side street. The interior is very tastefully decorated with/an entry area that serves as a check in & waiting area. The thing that makes TOP FEET STANDOUT are a number of things from the other massage parlors is the space has been broken up into nice private rooms that allow for a sense of privacy instead of being lumped into one large room. The other is my masseuse was awesome. I've been to other massage places where the masseuse doesn't speak or understand English which makes it very difficult to communicate w/them. The last one I went to it was very apparent that the masseuse didn't have a clue as to what she was doing. She exerted her weight on her elbows creating a very painful massage. The other thing that was evident as she was clueless about finding the knots & kinks in your body and working them out. My wife and I were put in the same room separated from the main corridor & the other room. As is the case w/other massage parlors they put your feet in a warm bath & start by soaking them. Cindy my masseuse was AWESOME. She started on my head massaging the scalp, ears & neck bringing me to a state of total relaxation. She then worked down to my neck & shoulders (which definitely was in need of a massage. She then worked on my hands and fingers massaging the palms, wrist & working her way down to my fingers going between the fingers & working on each digit stretching & pulling on each finger. The best part for me was my when Cindy worked my feet. The feet are extremely sensitive & she's a pure magician. She worked her magic working in the calves, heel & ankles and working her way to the arch & finally up to my toes taking special care of my toes working between each toe pulling & stretching them. I didn't want this to end. Finally she flipped me over on my stomach and worked my back, shoulder & neck. Just as soon as she was done she was off to the next customer. I cannot believe the experience I just had. A terrible massage by a masseuse who couldn't wait to get it over with. Not only was he not receptive to my experience, my feet were cramed into a bucket the first 10 minutes. When I asked for a towel for my eyes as soon as I laid down, I was told I had to go pay the receptionist for one. He was so rough me his touched and moving my body and the towels I am actually more tense than when I arrived. The irony of listening to relaxing music while having that experience was just too much. Upon leaving, they reuse the sandals you change into. I was told to just put mine back into the slot. And... when I went to tip, it was rejected!! The owner/receptionist told me they accept a minimum of $10 and pointed to a sign. Of course no one spoke English so I couldn't express myself properly. I went to hand the masseuse my tip and he wouldn't take it. When I expressed how deeply offended I was and left they acted surprised and the masseuse tried to reach out for my money! The therapist I had provided exactly what I was looking for - probably the most intense pressure I've ever had, which I LOVED and needed - while still checking in with me at various times throughout the massage to make sure it was alright. I have been to this salon 3x and loved the experience. But the last time I purchased a Groupon which was different than the other Groupons I used (1st being single massage, 2nd being regular couples massage, third being different couples massage with hot stone package) they said they would not honor this when I scheduled my appointment. On the Groupon rules it clearly states DIFFERENT Groupons can be purchased. Interesting experience for sure. I'm no stranger to Thai massage or deep tissue, but I had a similar experience to some of the other reviews. I selected a 95 minute massage for $65 (which is a fantastic deal) the foot massage was bad, wasn't even a true reflexology massage. He basically did the same motion for 5 minutes and called it a day. I looove deep tissue massage, but he was digging his elbows into my shoulder blades to the point where I kept hearing the knot he was trying to get out bump back and forth over the bone. When I said it was too hard, he softened for a little bit but I had to remind him again that he was being too rough. There's a different between trying to slide a knot out and apply pressure to it without just digging your elbow back and forth over it. I appreciate the deep pressure in parts of the massage, but over all it was uncomfortable. They also weren't using much oil to help with the glide. I don't think he even saw the form you fill out where you circle the areas you want worked on. The stretching during the massage was nice, got a few good bone cracks. With that said, 2 stars for the fact that if you want someone to dig into you, they do deeeeeep pressure here. Sometimes that's hard to find but at a certain point it's too hard. The other star is because the staff is kind. The place itself looks clean, I love the fish. It does look like they reuse the shoes between customers without cleaning. If you decide to go here, wear your socks into the room, and ask for medium pressure. I still feel like I need another massage to actually tend to the spots I really want fixed, but will not get getting it here. read more

"Nancy" was amazing. Always asked how I was feeling, and targeted the areas of need that I requested. Hard pressure just like I needed as well and It felt like she knew what she was doing . I will ask for her every time I come here!!! The room was lovely and relaxing. The prices are great enough to come a couple times a month. 4 stars instead of 5 for one reason. The door in my room was partially glazed so the bottom panel can be seen through. This means that if someone was to look through at waist level or lower they could watch your massage. I don't know if that's the point, to prove it's not "a massage parlor" prostitution ring, which it certainly is not, or what. I'm not aware of anyone looking but when you are half naked for the back massage part you shouldn't have to wonder if someone might. The masseuse was digging in so hard to places like my armpit, spine and upper back I was in extreme pain and afraid of injury despite requesting medium pressure. They put a hot rag on my back that was boiling hot. She did things like punch my legs, lifting my leg and dropping it down, and trying to pop my joints, which really scared me because again, fear of being injured!! I went in for a relaxing massage and instead was tense, scared, in pain and waiting for it to be over. She was going in so hard and so fast that it was difficult for me to be able to take in a deep breath. She didn't speak English so communication was difficult. They make you put on slippers that appear to be reused by other customers. They also force you to leave at least a 10$ tip or they will refuse it. read more

So this is my second time coming here. I enjoyed the first , better than the second time. I scheduled my couple massage appointment the day of. They called me back to push it back a hour, no problem. When we get there, they ask us to pay first (which we never have done) so I immediately knew this time would be different. When you first lay down, they place a towel over you and massage your head area first. After they do your feet (since they are soaking ). Now ladies, you will be asked to take off you top and bra. I recommend wearing pants (wore a dress the first time, bad choice) the male walks out, the lady will help you lay back down (good thing no one walks past the doors, feel like we need more privacy) But after that he comes back in, and massages your back. I asked him for a softer massage after he heard me make noises because of the pain. He would do it soft, then go back to being hard again. That issue made my massage very uncomfortable. read more

I had a terrible experience. Paid 50 for a 1 hour massage I didn't get. The women kept going in and out of the room about 4 times. I wanted a foot massage and I added legs and hands. 20 min each. The massage was so painful even though I told her at the beginning medium pressure, and then twice during the massage. Never mind that I as saying things like ouch. She spent a lot of time on my shoulders and arms which I did not want and only the front side of my legs neglecting the backside altogether. She spent about 10 minutes on my feet which primarily focused on my lower leg above the ankle. I paid the 50 bucks, but I now have to go somewhere else to get an actual foot massage. read more

Well. I would give five stars for the massage itself but one to the receptionist. Massage - very good and through. Jason didn't cut corners which I was wondering about as I went there with Groupon. I would have asked him to go early on me if I had known I could have made such a request. He worked on all over - head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, back, legs, and feet. I felt quite light after that. Receptionist - meanwhile, she wasn't friendly. Without welcoming me, she asked for my Groupon. It could go both ways - a reminder to use it or not friendly. I'd give that. But as someone mentioned, I did feel pressured to tip with Jason standing there. I didn't like the fee to use plastic to tip either. It is a steep fee and unlawful, I think, to force fees. I saw punch cards there as I was checking out. I said if I could use it from the next time (intentionally with thinking I could get a punch right there and then). She said yes. Okay. I did have a discount by getting Groupon but it is a cheap business if I have to miss the first punch because of it. I didn't like to see suggested amount of tips at the counter either. Do we customers have to chip in so masseuses can make living???? Facility - I was only in the reception area and the actual room. There were two massage tables in the room where I was. They do offer couples' massage so it makes sense. I'm just hoping I won't be in there with a stranger. So. It was good and bad on my note.
