I only write a review if it's absolutely special and really stands out, not just the quality of the service, but how you are treated when you walk in and how you feel when you leave. I have been going to source for over 6 years, what originally brought me was stress because I couldn't get pregnant. I came here looking for a new accupuncturist after moving to town. This place is close to work for me. I was hoping to like it. The place is on a second floor walk up. I made it up the stairs and found the office which was beautiful and calming. I had to wait 15 minutes because I was early and they weren't ready for me. The accupuncturist started with a cupping treatment and then transitioned to accupuncture. She kept telling me to take a deep breath before each needle rather than letting me relax. It felt like she was uncomfortable with what she was doing. Then the bill was way more than the accupuncturist that I found in town who I have had a much better experience with. I have been meeting with Heidi for a little over a year now for chronic headaches, migraines, hip pain, knee pain, as well as the common cold. Heidi and the staff go above and beyond basic treatment. Source Healing is really about whole body/mind and do not simply treat your symptoms. She asks questions about work, stress levels, eating habits, et cetra. I have received acupuncture, scraping and cupping. Since starting at Source Healing I have stopped take OTC cold medications and have dramatically reduced the amount of Ibuprofen I take. I went from being constantly sick and fatigued, to healthy and full of energy. If I do catch a cold, the symptoms have been less drastic and I recover much more quickly. Mary is always calm and takes the time to listen to my various issues. Some of my more chronic complaints are in now control and I am improving every day. I am scared of needles so was very nervous and tense during my first treatment. Mary Sabo was incredibly patient and reassuring and, going on 2 years later, I am an acupuncture junkie. I appreciated that she read over my intake form beforehand so already had a good idea of why I was there and what I wanted to accomplish. She asked questions and was very supportive and kind. I love her truly holistic view - we did calming meditations and she gave me some great ideas for a supplement I could take and an ancient Chinese cream I could use to help my skin in addition to the acupuncture and Guasha. Last winter, I spent weeks in Physical Therapy trying to get over hamstring pain caused from a running overuse injury. I struggled to walk for nearly two months without pain, and I felt for sure my running career was over and I'd have to defer my marathon entry. Physical Therapy wasn't progressing as quickly as I wanted and I was still feeling pain even when walking, so I started exploring alternative options to expedite my healing process. After I went to see Christie after my first session, my hamstring pain was GONE. I was super nervous about the needles, but it wasn't painful at all. It was so satisfying to experience the intensity and pools of sensation in my trouble spots and then feeling them slowly dissipate. I'm sure the muscle strengthening at PT was helpful too, but I fully credit Christie and the source healing team for helping me cross the marathon finish line last fall. Well worth the investment. I can't begin to tell you how much Source Healing has changed my life. I had been going to western doctors for 25 years for my ailments. I have asthma, hay fever, many food allergies including gluten and dairy, mood swings, digestive issues etc... I've taken every type of medication, such as steroids, inhalers, allergy shots, antihistamines, stomach relaxers, etc... Having had no relief with western medicine, I decided to switch my mindset and find the source of the problem. So, for the last 15 years, my search to heal myself switched to Eastern medicine. I've had to stay on several of my prescriptions in order to function, but I was determined to heal my body in a more homeopathic way. I needed someone special that knows more than the standard testing because I believe I have something wrong with my system that no one has been able to diagnose. In my journey, I've been to 4 other acupuncturists, had cranial sacral therapy, NAET therapy, chiropractic therapy based on Cayce, tried various exercise techniques (yoga, pilates, etc... ) eat a gluten free, dairy free all organic unprocessed foods diet leaning towards vegetables and nothing has worked until Christie Jordan. I've been going to her for 6 months now and have never felt better in my life! I finally found the right person to heal me! I don't have to take my inhaler anymore before exercising. I can open the windows in my house during spring, summer and fall and not have an allergy attack. I can ride my bike outside and not have an allergy or asthma attack. I can sleep at night without wheezing. I can weed in my garden and not have a reaction and the list goes on. I still am eating organically, unprocessed, and gluten free, but am able to digest and process foods without issue or wheezing. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I had always thought that acupuncture was best for specific pain like your back or a knee injury. My dr. referred me here because I had been having a lot of stomach issues, and I had no ulcers, no Celiac, etc. I now realize the cause was stress and dairy. The practitioners, particularly Christie, are fantastic. Your first session is with her, the founder, and they ask you to fill out some paperwork. She asks you tons of questions to get to know you and learn how to best treat you. That first session was truly life changing. Christie is so in tune with your energy and is incredibly intuitive to the things you need to work through. I hugged her after our session and left floating on a cloud. And with a list of small life change suggestions (probiotic, supplement, vitamin, try going 90% dairy free). Your next four sessions (they recommend 5x in the first month) you also work with Keri and Brian - who I love as well. Brian is light and friendly and Keri is really in-tune and spiritual. Like Christie, she's also great at helping you visualize. The three of them address you as a think tank, so they really know you and each session is a little different. Besides acupuncture, I've also had cupping and guasha. All have been pretty painless except the guasha at first (hurts so good though). Overall after six weeks, my stomach issues have subsided, I've quit a few bad habits, I've cut a lot of dairy out (despite my love of it, I really do feel better), my allergies and sinus problems are practically non-existent, I sleep better and I have more energy than before. This is probably the fourth place I've ever tried for acupuncture. The other places I've been to were all good, but Source Healing can stick it to me whenever they want. I came here after seeing how Christie really made a difference with my significant other who is much more relaxed and sleeping better at night. What I really like about Christie is that aside from checking your pulse, looking at your tongue and listening to whatever you've got to say and following up with exploratory questions, she also does a sort of a guided meditation before leaving me to relax on the table with the needles. I really feel like she channels all of that high level, positive energy into the care of her patients. Even more surprising was that although she knew that I was going elsewhere for acupuncture, she never said anything other than positive words about the other place. I also never felt pressured to book another session, and she only offered me herbs after I asked. Although I've only had two sessions, I've felt great after each one. The space is relaxing, clean and quiet, and the care that you get is really so much more focused than what I've experienced elsewhere. Will definitely be back for more treatments! read more

I have been working with Christie for the past 5 years or so and it has been a life changing experience. She has an incredible understanding of the mind, body, spirit connection and how everything interrelates to one another. Depending on what you are looking to get out of the session, you could feel like you just visited a therapist, a doctor, a nutritionist, and a massage therapist all in one day. She doesn't actually offer massage, but when you leave you feel like you had one. I always left feeling like I was floating on a cloud (in a good way). I know the price can sometimes be hard to justify, it was for me at first, but I promise you she was worth twice as much of what I paid. I do recommend her herbs if she thinks they are necessary, but she also frequently recommends supplements and rather than trying to sell you overpriced versions from her office, she always recommends brands you are able to get at a natural store or on amazon. She has such integrity and is always trying to do the best by her patients and I feel her prices are beyond fair for the benefit you get in return. The past 5 years were very hard for me because my entire eco-system was so messed up (thyroid/hormonal imbalances) and today my life is full of incredible joy and I owe a large part of that to Christie. I honestly don't know where I would be today if I had not discovered her 5 years ago. She is the best guide I could have asked for during this transformative journey. She is pure magic and I would trust her with any and all of my loved ones. In fact I do, I have sent several friends to her for many different reasons from hip pain to anxiety/depression to fertility issues. If I had more money, I would pay to fly everyone I love to see her when they are working through anything related to their overall health. She is a healer in the truest form and I strongly encourage you to visit her if you are lucky enough to live near the Chicago area. When I say near, I mean within a 4 hour drive.
