I went in for my very first 60 minute Reiki appointment a couple weeks ago to deal with some stress due to drastic life changes. I have been feeling jumpy and "on-edge" for a while and needed some additional help/direction to provide relief. The space was incredibly cozy and all around felt good to be in. Immediately after meeting Marie, I knew she was a right fit. I appreciated her natural ability to make me feel right at home in a new space. The treatment itself was amazing. Having had smaller Reiki sessions before, I had an idea of what to expect, but during the full hour, I felt the tightness in my abdomen relax, and my breathing become easier. By the end of the hour, I was calm, glassy-eyed, and a little out of it (in a good way). I really feel that the treatment set the tone for how I coped with my stressors the following week. I didn't hold things in my body as much and felt calmer. Because I work in the health industry, I decided to also do a one-on-one Reiki training with Marie as well. I am still blown away by her kindness during the class. Not only did I receive amazing information and training, but the materials she gave me to study were very organized and well put together. We enjoyed talking about health and healing so much, that we did get off track with time (which I didn't mind because I was learning so much), but she was so kind in letting me hang out longer to get all the training I needed. I chose Dr. Weiler as my physician upon moving to Chicago 7 years ago and every time I see her I…read moremarvel at what a truly great choice that was. This time it was an injury to my arm. I misjudged the weight of a crate and ouch, that hurt. I assumed it was a simple muscle strain, but I'm no physician. Dr. Weiler, however, recognized my symptoms as consistent with a more serious injury and, thanks to her and her very professional staff, I had an X-ray, an MRI and saw a specialist, all within four days of my initial visit with her. There's no way I could've achieved all these appointments on my own. It's only because of Dr. Weiler and her staff that I got in to see a specialist that very same week. UPDATE: Within 10 days of that first appointment with Dr. Weiler, I learned I'd suffered a 95-percent separation of my bicep, and had the surgery necessary to correct it. Yes. All within 10 days. If not for Dr. Weiler, the injury I mistook for a simple strain could've very easily become so severe that even surgery wouldn't have been an option. Besides that, the specialist to whom she referred me was among the best of the best. Another win for Dr. Weiler. She's got a lot of those.
