Went to try community acupuncture because acupuncture is expensive. Had a great experience and already got a package to come back. They seem to offer basically everything and I want to check out more. read more

I have been going to Five Points Holistic Health for acupuncture for about a year and a half now. I cannot say enough positive and wonderful things about this entire practice! I first went in at a time where I was in chronic back pain and just at an overall low point in my mental and physical health. I truly felt at rock bottom. I scheduled an appointment with Ashley and was so amazed at the entire experience from day 1. From the initial check in at the front desk to meeting Ashley, it just felt like such a safe, welcoming space. With leas than 6 months of weekly treatment, my life was changed for the better. From needles, to cups, to Ashley's wonderful approach and listening, it been a complete 180 from my first visit. The treatments have been so healing. I am forever grateful and thankful for Ashley and Five Points. Truly a wonderful place to go. Since they've been in their new space, I have only seen the expansion of all the wonderful, healing potential of this amazing practice, their care, and their offerings. I do not hesitate to refer friends and family to Ashley and Five Points. read more

After nearly 5 months of constant concussion and whiplash symptoms from a sports injury, Nathan has completely alleviated my neck pain, vertigo, and fogginess. I felt immense relief after the first session and in each session since I have felt huge improvements in my body overall. He is attentive and I appreciate that it feels like we are a team during the sessions. So others know what to expect from the structural bodywork sessions: This isn't a traditional massage, it's done over the clothes with a very light touch. During the session, he helps guide your awareness and breathing as he works on you. At the end, he gives exercises to do on your own at home which I have found really helpful. I would highly recommend his services if you are dealing with any type of pain. read more

AMAZING acupuncture! This post is long overdue. I initially started going to Derek at another location but followed him to Five Point. I've consistently had appointments with Derek for hypothyroidism, endometriosis, and everything in between. There are sessions where I've gone in with extreme fatigue, knee pain, headaches or other types of odd symptoms and then WAM! Derek works his needle magic and everything is right as rain. Importantly, I successfully went off medication for my thyroid for the first time since I was 11 years old about a month ago. I also no longer have severe endometriosis symptoms. Derek is maybe the most compassionate, understanding, and nonjudgmental person alive. I have very strong spiritual beliefs that he listens to and treats accordingly with no personal agenda. For instance, I'll mention symptoms that I attribute to third eye opening or blocked chakras and he listens, translates and provides excellent support. Additionally, I always have something crazy in my life going on as I'm building a nonprofit and working multiple jobs. Derek always provides support, asks questions about how it's going, and is very encouraging! It's like going in for treatment that you know you will walk out of feeling like a million dollars, and also know that your needs were actually heard. If you're on the fence, TRY IT!!! Thank you so much Derek and Five Point!!! You're SOOOO appreciated. read more

I couldn't say enough good things about this place to do it justice! A very caring staff who give the most thoughtful and meaningful service for my needs. I am impressed every time. I also love that they are a coop. So whatever your budget -you can find a service/price that works for you. I am a FAN! read more

I've been going to Five Point for awhile now and the experience has been LIFE CHANGING. I mainly work with Ryan but have also been treated by several other practitioners and everyone has been fantastic. My pain levels have decreased and overall quality of life has improved significantly with regular treatment. Alexis at the front desk is also awesome. I can't recommend Five Point enough. Keep up the excellent work, amazing humans! read more

I started seeing Derek for my hypothyroidism. He's by far been the most passionate care provider I've had. If you're one the fence go. I take a my prescription in unison with seeking acupuncture care and can feel major bounds in my improvement. read more

Five Point Holistic Health is an oasis -- there's no other way to put it! I've never before met a group of such kind, skilled practitioners. Absolutely everyone I've encountered is a delight, and I've learned so much from Katelyn (acupuncture) and Kate (craniosacral & deep tissue massage) in particular. Their space is calm and relaxing, and I feel very comfortable with the covid precautions they're taking (fewer patients, more spaced out appointments, masks, hand washing upon arrival, temperature checks, extremely deep cleaning, as well as a pre-appointment survey about potential symptoms, exposure, and travel) -- which is saying a lot, as I've not ventured elsewhere! Of note, they offer individual as well as community acupuncture for a very reasonable cost, and take insurance if you're lucky to have that benefit. Appointments are extremely easy to book online. I tell everyone I know how much I love Five Point!!! read more

I've been interested in acupuncture and herbal treatments for years and finally tried it to treat the swelling in my wrist after an injury. A friend recommended Five Points. First I was glad to see that street parking near the office was easy to come by. The reception and treatment rooms were serene which set the tone for the most peaceful health treatment I've ever had. I really liked the calming music. Celeste treated me. She listened well and carefully. She offered some options for acupuncture and herbal treatment. Her skillful acupuncture alleviated my pain. I've just started to take the herbs she gave me so I can't comment on their effectiveness yet. All in all, it was a positive experienced. read more

If you are looking for a place that offers acupuncture at a reasonable price with experienced people who truly want to help--please try Five Point-I have been working with Derek and Katelyn for over a year, specifically for help in fertility during IVF Treatment. Katelyn is such a wise and kind soul, who knows so much about how acupuncture can be such an important supplement to a successful transfer. Derek is a great listener and is very attentive to your needs. I incorporated moxa during certain times of my cycle to enhance blood flow--which I do think helped with my transfer. I highly recommend trying this. Every time I walked into 5 Point I was greeted with a warm smile, and I felt confident and grateful knowing I had Derek and Katelyn on my team. If I ever needed a session during a sensitive time period, Katelyn and Derek would make something work for me. If you have ever gone through IVF, you know the importance of timing, and how every step of the journey is so crucial . My transfer worked and I truly believe I have 5 Point to thank. Thank you so much for the work you do. read more

I went here to try acupuncture for the first time. They make you go through a LENGTHY intake evaluation, including tons of very very physical and mental health questions. The acupuncture itself was nothing to write home about. I chose the private session, so I was in a room alone. I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time before the provider came in. Then the lengthy assessment, which took another 30 minutes. Then he made me undress down to my underwear, even though that was unnecessary for the locations of the needles. I was only given the tiniest towel to cover up with. Like washcloth size. That was awkward. While inserting the needles, I got shooting pains. The provider just laughed it off and said "oh that happens sometimes." Excuse me?!? He then left me for 20 minutes, freezing, lying on a table in my underwear. It was uncomfortable and cold, but I wanted to give it a shot, so I waited. Eventually when he returned, I told him I was freezing and that the needles still hurt. He then GASLIT me, and told me it was MY fault that I had a bad experience. He told me I'd need to come back at least 10 times for it to have a positive effect. He then blamed my anxiety and said that my mental health prevented the acupuncture from working. That's not how that works. Then to top it all off, the front desk refused to run my insurance, because they'd get more money if I paid directly by credit card, even though they said they took my insurance. This place is absolutely awful, and I will never be back. read more

I've gotten acupuncture a few times over the years, usually for my computer wrists/hands/shoulder/neck pains. Recently, I was in a stressful situation that caused other ailments that were difficult to remedy through exercise, yoga, and diet. A few rounds of treatment at Five Points have definitely been helpful and healed my body. Highly recommend, great prices & location w/ bike parking nearby. read more

Fantastic co-op wellness practice in Logan Square! I've been to Kate twice now: first for a Swedish massage, and today for a craniosacral massage. Both wonderful. Clean, composed, graceful practice. This is a no tipping establishment so the price is what you pay. Definitely coming back for acupuncture! read more

I have been going to point for a few years...I felt they were good people....yesterday I came in with a little sniffles and head cold...I had a sore foot and had been icing it for some days.....well the acupuncturist freaked out...all the time we both had masks on....he personally had covid many times...I have never had it..They treated me like I had Leprosy....they were nasty...he threw me in a special room..quickly stuck some needles in me...and ran out....one needle was in my arm...that needle has left my arm numb....he didn't ask me if the needles were ok..as he did in the past...it was terrible...took the test covid free...that acupuncturist had covid many times....he just jumped the gun....I would be cautious about going there ....they r not good people.. read more

Love five point holistic health! I've come here twice for private acupuncture sessions with Ryan and I have nothing but good things to say. It's a welcoming environment and the staff are incredibly patient with any needs or questions you may have! read more

I just finished a 60 minute Swedish massage with Kate, and it was really fantastic and wholly relaxing. Just what I needed. I told Kate before the massage that I was in the process of moving to a new home (the physical stuff - cleaning, packing, etc.), and she recommended a less vigorous massage in order to tell the muscles to chill out. It worked, and then some. She moved my limbs and muscles gently into positions that opened everything up, but would incorporate moments of stillness for my muscles (and mind) to have time to relax and take it all in. As a result, at times I drifted in and out of a dream-like state, with my conscious mind focused on the muscles being worked, but at other times wandering when the stillness kicked in. This really allowed my muscles the space they needed to relax. All while this was going on, Kate bent and stretched my limbs and body into an elongated posture that really felt good after a minute. At times she also jostled my arms and legs gently up and down just to introduce some kinetic movement, which also felt great. Most of the massage was spent on my upper body and arms, getting my shoulders to relax, and halfway through to get my chest to open up. Towards the end she did some reflexology stuff, which actually woke me up out of my semi-dream state a little because I forgot to mention to Kate that my feet are super ticklish (I sort of forgot, since normally people don't touch my feet). But what I could stand of it felt great! After the massage, she made sure I was feeling okay, and offered some tips on jostling my muscles by introducing a little gentle movement. All in all it was an invigorating, relaxing, superb massage (the best I've had in my limited experience!) that I couldn't recommend enough. read more

I broke my foot two years ago. A really nasty spiral fracture that required me to have surgery to reset the dislocation and have a plate and pins inserted to fortify the area. The break healed perfectly, but the trauma left some inflammation and scar tissue in place. As a marathon runner, this translated into the sensation of running on a bruise. Not unbearable pain but persistently annoying -- and enough to change my gate for long distances. I've been going to Five Point Holistic Health since their grand opening in May, and after running 13 miles during a relay race and building miles at the beginning of marathon training, I'm pleased to report that I'm virtually pain free for the first time in 2 years. The community style acupuncture did take a bit of getting used to, as there are several chairs in the same room, and there could be up to a dozen people getting acupuncture at the same time. BUT I can deal with that for the cost savings -- it's just $25 per session. Which makes regular appointments affordable for me. The staff are all incredibly nice, and with the addition of white noise machines scattered throughout the space, it's actually quite peaceful. They offer blankets, ear plugs and eye masks if you need them. This is a welcome addition to the Logan Square neighborhood, and it's worth traveling to if you aren't in the neighborhood. There's plenty of free parking on nearby side streets. read more

This is by far one of my favorite places in Chicago. Genna Robinson is amazing. She is my favorite acupuncturist with her calm and caring demeanor and she truly cares for your well being. The energy of the place is so positive and relaxing just entering the facility soothes me. The prices are fantastic for what you're getting and if you ever are new to acupuncture this is the perfect place to try it out. I swear by it and every time I need to feel centered or my digestive system is out of whack I immediately come to her and the next day I feel so amazing. Highly recommend! Very clean facility and great customer service! read more

I have been a patient at Five Point for the past year, and I would highly recommend them to everyone, for all types of health issues. While they assuredly are talented acupuncturists, and I have had great acupuncture treatments here - for me the herbal therapies have been the most significant and life altering. From quickly treating colds and infections, to managing my complicated metabolic syndrome (PCOS), their herbal prescriptions have really improved my health. They have even helped reduce anxiety and associated mental health symptoms with herbs. For me it is a great alternative to pharmaceuticals. Leah, Ryan, Celeste, and Collin have put a lot of time, effort, positive energy, and collaborative thought into treating my chronic condition - and I am very grateful. I know I can walk in and see anyone at the clinic and get high quality treatment. It is obvious that this group cares deeply about their patients, and are passionate about their practice. I have left so many doctors offices in my life feeling bad - like my concerns were unheard, and the visit was so rushed - this clinic is the antithesis to that - they really listen to you. The clinic is clean, calm, and meditative - and their pricing is super affordable. I have received many treatments in the community room, which are great - I am a pretty private person but feel totally comfortable and happy in the community room. But the private rooms are also awesome and it feels like a real treat to receive a private treatment. I always feel restored, and just better - when I leave Five Point. My health is much improved thanks to their treatments, and I can not recommend enough that you give them a try - for ANY health issue. I am not one to write reviews, but they deserve some serious praise. read more

Five Point is awesome! The space is clean and inviting, and everyone that works there is incredibly friendly and helpful. I've been going for a few months for structural bodywork with Nathan, and I can't say enough positive things. Not only do I feel great after a session, but he also provides exercises I can do at home. It's like massage meets physical therapy meets guided meditation. They also offer acupuncture, cupping, and herbal consultations at very reasonable rates, and anyone you work with will be kind, attentive, and great at what they do. Do yourself a favor and check it out! read more

What a great find! And a short walk away from me. Does it get any better? NOPE. If you are intimidated by acupuncture or worried about the cost, this is the place to go. First off, it's all about the anticipation of the needles going in. Just a prick; shots are worse! So if you are having some aches or something is up, I highly encourage giving this a shot. Really changed my perspective on the body. I am sold and love it. I have been to other acupuncturists and I loved this place so much more. The feel, the vibe, the people, everything. Everyone here is so friendly and informative. I came here after having some back issues related to tennis and driving. Also some general knee soreness. I met with Alex and went to her for about six weeks of treatment. She is so much fun to talk to and is great at teaching you all about what is going on. I learned so much about the body, and each time I left I felt incredible. I did some herbal treatments as well. I enjoyed that process and seeing the reactions my body had to that treatment. The community aspect of it is awesome. It is totally cool being in a room with others. Once the needles are in, you zone out, so whatever! The price cannot be beat. Not sure if they are still doing the packages, but you can buy multiple treatments in advance and save some cash. It was so nice that they paired with one of my other favorite local businesses, Tula Yoga, and they gave members a free first visit. And I came a day after the window passed and they still gave it to me. So that was super nice and not expected! I have been recommending this place to my friends and I hope more people go! read more

LOVE love LOVE this place!!! I've been coming for acupuncture, cupping and now herbs! Every time i leave i feel like i'm walking on clouds! I've seen Leah and Ryan and they are both awesome!!! I started coming for neck and back pain due to my line of work. I was soon introduced to cupping which has changed my world forever!!! I think i drool every time i'm on the table. The more i've gone the more they start digging deeper into my world of pain. Slowly but surely my body is becoming more at ease. I'm sending people your way every day!!! Thank you guys!!!! read more

I've seen a few different people here for acupuncture and cupping. It has always been a great experience. Everyone there seems very knowledgeable and patient, they have been happy to answer all of my questions and I saw immediate improvements in the issues I was treated for. Ryan as a therapist was fantastic. Really hands on. Would recommend him. The treatment was great. Very disappointed with their back office practices. They do not deal with insurance which is fine and push to the end user. Again, this is fine, some insurances will cover and you file the claim yourself. However, they will push you to do a package but do not tell you packages are NOT covered by insurance. You are stuck holding the bag at the end. Really frustrating and puts you out $350+ at minimum. No accountability and zero responsibility taken. Be prepared for a "sorry for the miscommunication" and a big bill. read more

Nathan is fantastic. I feel so much better after one visit. Plan on going back!

Ryan has been working with me for well over a year, and it has been an excellent experience. My acupuncture needs are often changing, and he has been able to help me with problems while keeping balance across the others. He has been providing a great mix of acupuncture and herbs. I'm really happy with his empathy, knowledge and treatment! read more

I have been going to Five Points Holistic Health since the beginning of the year. I went there after a recommendation from a friend after going through six months of testing in Western medicine with no conclusions except to try different prescriptions and more tests, I wanted other choices. Alex worked with me and my specific situation with a combination of treatments... the dietary therapy, herbs and acupuncture all tailored to my symptoms and situation. I was amazed and shocked at the quick results, within two weeks I felt dramatically better than I had for almost a year. I was reminded that there were no "quick fixes" but the results were dramatic and quick - I was thrilled, after being "sick" for over 8 months consistently without any signs of improvement, this was wonderful. It has now been just over four months and we have continue to maintain the changes with still small improvements and better health. If you are looking for alternatives to prescriptions, I would highly recommend Five Point Holistic Health and the services they offer. They listen to your specific needs and diagnose a course of action for you. But you will need to be open minded as well, yes, I hate needles and still hate needles but they do not hurt when they are used here and I feel the results out way the fear of needles. read more

I first came to know of Five Points Holistic Health while at the Logan Square Farmer's Market this past summer. It was there that I met Nathan and others on staff. They were very friendly and in the short time at their table, Nathan relieved some soreness I had in my hand through structural bodywork. Thank you! You were volunteering your time and I appreciated your attention. Fast forward a few months later and in need of relief for my arm/hand, I contacted FPHH to set up an initial appointment with Nathan. This process was seamless and appreciated that there are weekend and after work hours for appointments. The Logan Square/Blue Line is about a seven-ten minute walk away. There is also meter parking right in front of FPHH. I have had Nathan for my first two body work sessions and he is truly wonderful. Nathan is knowledgeable, personable and genuinely cares about his craft and clients. He is very thorough and I like how he explains the techniques he is using while also providing additional exercises to complete in between sessions. This is my first time having structural bodywork (outside of a traditional massage) and cannot imagine going back to a traditional massage. If you are looking for a caring and knowledgeable staff in a relaxing environment, then look no further! read more

This place is wonderful. I called with severe back pain that was unrelieved by medication and physical therapy. They took me immediately, talked me through the process, and helped calm me. I returned several times within a week and with each visit I felt better. I tried the private and community sessions, both were helpful. All staff members are great and I would recommend them all. read more

I have been a weekly patient here for the past few months seeing Ryan Palma. My initial reason for coming to this specific practice was the community hours. If you are willing to sit in a room where others are also receiving treatment the price is greatly reduced making acupuncture so much more accessible! I seriously think this is a WONDERFUL thing! (they do offer private sessions as well, of course) That is why I went, but I stayed because they are really great! The staff is very knowledgable, kind, and professional. The rooms are clean and soothing. They listen and care, take time to explain things and are very approachable. I went for specific health reasons but have found that, true to holistic medicine, even more than my initial concerns have been addressed. Not too shabby. Simply put, they are awesome and you should definitely go. It will make you happy. read more

I have a fear of needles and so avoided acupuncture for a long time until finally giving it a go a few months ago. Despite my fears, the staff and environment of Five Point immediately put me at ease. The space is incredibly peaceful and quiet, a gentle enclave from the city. Ryan took time to listen to my issues and was the first care provider I've seen who told me, with confidence, that he had seen women with my issues before and he knew how to treat them. I'll admit that I was a bit nervous when the needles first went in, but after the initial anxiety dissipated my experience was incredibly deep and meaningful. I've been back every other week since and have experienced such a monumental shift in my anxiety issues, unlike any other modality I tried before. I really feel like a different person in terms of how I manage my stress. I know not all modalities work well for everyone, but I feel like acupuncture should be given a chance, especially in such a caring and open space as Five Point. I truly can't recommend them enough! read more

I've been receiving acupuncture treatments for my severe back pain from Ryan Palma. The treatments that the wonderful Ryan has been giving me to help my back pain have been amazing and I couldn't be happier. I especially appreciate the time he takes listening to me while at the same time making me feel comfortable as I explain my symptoms to him. I am not a needle type of person but I gotta say that you don't even feel them......that is just how wonderful they all are. My next plan is to join their Saturday Yoga classes to help strengthen my back. Thank you all at Five Point Holistic Health read more

I've been coming here for acupuncture for about a year and am so grateful for the welcoming environment, kind/knowledgeable/wonderful staff, and nurturing treatments. Hannah makes everything easier with administrative help and appointment bookings up front and my current practitioner, Christian, is an acupuncture wiz! I'd highly recommend the community acupuncture setting for regular appointments and the private acupuncture for special appointments here and there. The herbs - when I'm consistent - are also very healing and supportive! Thank you, Five Point crew! read more

Like other reviewers, I cannot sing the praises of this team highly or loudly enough. I came to Ryan almost 3 years after a devastating shoulder injury that left one arm with limited range and the shoulder in such constant pain that I was living on naproxen and ibuprofen. I came in hope of weaning myself from pain meds. In just a few months of acupuncture treatments, supplemented with customized weekly mixes of herbs to help my body manage the pain better itself, I was done with pain meds. I've supplemented the acupuncture and herbs with body work from Nathan, who is fortunate he lives in the 21st century. In another era, the extraordinary results he achieves with such an extraordinarily gentle touch would probably have caused him to be branded a wizard or warlock. Regular work now with Ryan and Nathan now completely manages my pain. That has allowed me to exercise my shoulder and arm more, and that has improved function and further reduced pain. As for the facility, it is spotlessly clean and peaceful, and every member of the staff is welcoming. I will be a regular for a long time to come. read more

I am so glad a friend recommended Five Point Holistic Health when I was looking for community acupuncture. I started out seeing Collin Campbell and really, really recommend him if you are looking for an herbalist. He is incredibly perceptive (I wondered for a minute if he was psychic) and his herbal remedies were spot on. I really noticed a difference. However, I wasn't committed to taking the herbs as much as I should have been and would often skip days or decrease the dosage. It wasn't realistic for me to keep taking them if I wasn't fully committed. So I switched to seeing Dinah for just acupuncture. She's great - so personable and has really hit the nail on the head when I've needed weird specific things (aches/stomach issues/sadness) addressed on the day I've gone. Appointments are easy to make and it's very affordable. Highly recommend. read more

This place is amazing and affordable! I have been going to Five Points for about 2 years, but I wish I could go more frequently. It's really easy to make an appointment online, and the packages offered are definitely a plus. I have been seeing Collin for about 4 weeks now and he's already made a difference in my health. I have had strange health issues for over a year now and have tried multiple treatment plans to get me healthy again and everything seemed to help for a bit but I would always go backwards again. I figured I would give acupuncture and Chinese herbs a shot since I read about all the benefits and am so glad I did. I have a ways to go until my health is perfect again, but I feel so much better after just four weeks. Everyone there is so warm and welcoming, so it doesn't feel like another dreadful appointment. I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more
