This review is way overdue. A year ago, I developed horrible skin issues. Knowing most prescription medications have side effects, I opted for all OTC ointments I can find, and none helped. Then, looking at local reviews on Yelp, I stumbled on Lee's Herbs Acupuncture. Dr. Li was prompted in returning my initial phone call to discuss my symptoms and I was able to set up an appointment next day. Upon examining my skin, it was determined I have allergies to certain food I eat. My work-related stress level was also a main contributor to the severity of my problems. With no other alternatives, I decided to try acupuncture and drink Chinese herbal tea for the first time. I took the opportunity of my weekly acupuncture sessions to relax and clear my mind. Drinking the herbal tea daily, on the other hand, was not a pleasant experience even though it helped my issues tremendously. By adding honey as Dr. Li suggested made it bearable. In addition to giving up seafood and spicy foods, I also started using baby shampoo/lotion since most adult beauty products contain harmful chemicals. Five months after my treatment, I am happy to say the symptoms have cleared and I am better at managing my stress level. Dr. Li has an amicable bedside manner. This review is somewhat overdue. I am so happy my business partner recommended me to Dr. Lee. Today I had my second round of acupuncture treatment. Some results and improvements after my second round of acupuncture and herbal remedies is that I am less bloated and I am getting "color" back in my gums and tongue. It was extremely pale when I went for my check up last week. A bit of a background on my condition- I have been extremely anemic for the past few months due to blood loss that this was the first thing the he told me that needs to get corrected. For some odd reason the doctors I have been seeing never really prescribed anything to replenish my ongoing blood loss. Which is the reason why I keep finding myself going through the same cycle each month of never feeling better and going back to the hospital. I am so glad that Dr. Lee didn't bring up that the biggest problem was me being overweight, because it wasn't. I went in and was refused service (after traveling and spending $$ on street parking) because I was pregnant. I informed him I had a miscarriage last year and he said he would not treat me. He was adamant that I would SUE him if I had a miscarriage. In case you aren't aware, acupuncture during pregnancy is EXTREMELY COMMON AND SAFE. This was genuinely insulting, not to mention upsetting. A pregnant woman who has gone through loss being treated like an untouchable for said loss? Great bedside manner, man. Offered nothing but a fake smile and a head shake and a "certain pregnancies, if you miscarriage, I cannot, because then you will blame me." This is a HEALTHCARE PROVIDER? Dr Li is an amazing acupuncturist. He is very knowledgeable and he can relay information in an honest manner that the lay person can understand. He is very friendly and addressed all of my concerns. I have been experiencing a lot of symptoms related to a diagnosis of lupus. The symptoms are varied and changes from one day to the next.
