    Dried herbs
    Lisa P.

Although this shop is a bit intimidating, there are many willing to help. Ready to answer any questions you may have and explain their products. Oversized glass jars line the shelves with medicinal herbs, specialty roots, dried flowers, dehydrated fish bellies and healing teas. Each one promising to treat, heal or cure. From common colds and allergies to skin sensitivities and cancer prevention. I appreciate the explanations and history. I grabbed some tea, I can't mess that up. For those interested in a more comprehensive approach, the doctor is right next door to the shop. Offering non-traditional methods of healing such as acupuncture, cupping, massage and more. I will be trying acupuncture soon.

This is the place to go for raw Asian herbs, ginseng root and a host of other remedies. They have at least over 30 bags of specialty teas for different ailments of your body. I did purchase some Chinese Ginseng , which is hard to find in NC. I have been taking this herb since the early 70's. they can also prescribe or mix up a specific herbal remedy for you. Many of the supplements boxes and bottles are in Chinese. Go to your translation app and put on camera , frame in the words and it will translate it to English. When we were there they were very busy with customers asking for this and that. I don't speak Chinese, but I love hearing the language spoken. Be advised in purchasing out of the jar herbs, you have to have a knowledge of what they do and how to prepare them.

I've been visiting the Acupuncture Healing Center next door and when Dr. Long suggested I supplement my treatments with herbs, I went over to Nam Bac Hang to pick up my herbal tea prescription from the owner Yuge. Nam Bac Hang carries hundreds of herbs on site. It was amazing to see so many on display. Herbal teas are personalized based on your current state. Each package of prescribed herbs is to be steeped in boiling water and consumed. One package is typically a days' worth of tea and costs about $13.50/package as of November 21. You don't need to have acupuncture for a tea prescription. On the Acupuncture Healing Center's website, you can self-online schedule a consultation which is roughly $30 which is then followed up with a tea prescription (paid separately). Each herb has an intended use, and these guys as are gurus when it comes to figuring out which herbs are best paired to help heal your body. I've noticed positive changes within days of trying the teas and I would highly recommend them if you're seeking an alternative approach to medicine. Lastly, parking is spotty on Cermak. I find it easier to park in the Chinatown parking lot. It's a longer walk but if you request for validation in store the prices are $2 cheaper versus if you were to pay the meter.

I don't even know where to begin, I had an unknown rash all over my arms and back for over a month. The doctor, the dermatologist, recommended, prednisone and antibiotics. None of it worked. It was horribly itchy and visually unappealing. I went into the store and showed my rash to the knowledgeable sales person; She recommended the liver detox. A week later I no longer have a rash and itching has subsided. This establishment is clean, very well organized, and the staff is knowledgeable. They also have an acupuncturist next-door. I am thrilled and will be a loyal customer moving forward. Thank you and see you next time.

Everyone here is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I came to buy acu needles for school and the prices were amazing. Will absolutely be coming back here for herbs, acu supplies, and treatments

The back wall with herbs in jars. It is very cool to look at. It looks like a movie set.

My preference is to do chiro before acupuncture, and the office is always willing to do what they can from a scheduling perspective to accommodate my request, which brings us to our first stop, Justin! Embarrassing for me, but I've cried a few times in Justin's face because of aches and pains. Justin always takes his time to listen to my physical woes, and he goes to work to get 'em out. He uses a variety of methods from heat to stim to good 'ol chiropractic adjustments- all with a smile. I definitely feel loosey-goosey and ready to get poked, which brings me to my second stop....Angie! No matter the challenge I bring into the acupuncture room, Angie is ready to meet it. Angie also uses a variety of techniques from different laying positions to stim to heat lamps. PS Angie- where can I get one of those heat lamps for my house?? I don't think there's ever been one acupuncture session where I haven't gone into a fully meditative state. The hour long session feels like it's 5 minutes, and I always wake up feeling fully refreshed. We usually end our sessions with cupping, which has been a game changer in my physical healing journey. I genuinely don't know where I would be without these two. Every time I'm in this office I reflect on how grateful I am to have this tremendous duo in my corner. If I skip a week, I can absolutely tell a difference in my body. Suffice it to say, Angie and Justin won't be getting rid of me any time soon! Angie, Justin, thank you infinitely. They were good back in the day, but as of now, Dr. Hubert would rather be golfing, and Dr. Mei Ling has lost so much of her hearing, that she should really be wearing hearing aids. Yes, she refuses to, while often treating 3 or 4 people simultaneoulsy. Dr. Hubert is one of the worst chiropractors I have ever seen. While he is quite good at acupuncture, he is an unethical, and unsafe chiropractic doctor, and should have his license revoked. In January of this year, I was in a hit and run; my lower back and neck were badly injured. I went to him for chiro and acu two weeks after the crash. After the second treatment he gave me, he called out at me from behind when I was walking towards the front door to leave that I had to "get that target off my back". Ummm, whaat??? That should have been a warning to not go back and see him again, but I was too injured to have the energy to get into treatment with a new doctor. Big mistake. A few weeks after this rude statement, he decided to give me a really aggressive and inappropriate adjustment, since he is such a bad chiropractor, in the attempt to get my lower back to "move". He abruptly pushed both knees, simultaneously, up into my chest several times, and the next two days I was in so much pain I could barely get out of bed. I have seen many chiropractors, and have never received this kind of "adjustment". His mother, Dr. Me Ling, is also a piece of work. I saw her once in 2018 after having my elbow crushed by a bicyclist; after the surgery to install 3 steel plates into my elbo, I developed a rare disease called CRPS, or chronic regional pain syndrome, which she didnt want to hear about during the intake. I am sure that in her hey day, she was a great acupuncturist, but now is she a very elderly lady who is losing her hearing, and her compassion, and who refuses to wear hearing aids. She straight out told me to not say that I have CRPS when she decide to intensely bend my elbow back and forth, and I cried out that it hurt and to be careful because of my condition. The nickname for CRPS is "the suicide disease", but apparently she thought I was making it up. In fact, it makes normal pain seems 10 to 100 times worse, on any account, but apparently in her clinic, it just isnt a real thing. My elbow did in fact feel much better the next day after her needle treatment, but I felt I never wanted to see her again per her rude and unkind behaviour. I decided to give Dr. Me Ling a second try in 2021, hoping that maybe she would be nicer, because I could tell that she was a great acupuncturist the first time I met her. Unfortunately I dont think she should still be in practice. After she put the needles in me, when I saw her the second time in early 2021, I started to have a bad reaction. I tried to endure it and see if it would get better, but also called out to her to come help. I called out to her 4 times. She failed to come and help me. Finally I had to awkwardly get up off the table, and take the needles out myself. It was such a horrible experience. Her son, Dr. Hubert, told me shortly after that about how she refuses to wear hearing aids. I feel that this clinic should be reported. They have been in practice for a very long time, and clearly have better things to do, since being kind and attentive and courteous to their patients isn't one of them.
