    Creme caramel, maple

Great service, cocktails are a bit pricey for the size. Good portion size on the food. The croquettes were super cheesy. The poutine was ok but nothing special -- it's missing that special Québécois touch. Creme caramel was doused in maple syrup, good if you like it, bad if not lol. The papardelle was freshly made. Also received an amuse bouche at the start. Prefer this place over their sister restaurant as the food is not as heavy. The dining room is quite small and they have the 2000s tunes pumping.

After trying St. Lawrence a few weeks ago, I was very excited to try their new sister restaurant Chez Celine. Dine Out felt like the perfect opportunity to give this place a shot. When we arrived last night, it was packed. We waited a few minutes to be sat. As another review mentions, it is very loud in the restaurant. The tables are placed closely together and there is upbeat music playing, loud enough that you can't really hear the other person unless you raise your voice. Our server came to us promptly with water and took our order. Appetizers were the beef tartare and escargot flatbread. The tartare was tangy with a spicy kick and I found the anchovies thoughtfully placed for extra flavour. We had to cut the bread served with the tartare by ourselves which was a bit inconvenient. However, there was ample bread leftover to be used to mop up the delicious butter from the flatbread. I found the flavours and textures appealing enough but I could not have too much as it was very oily. Mains arrived shortly after and I am thankful to all the reviews I read praising the pork chop. It was the most tender and flavourful pork chop I ever had. The maple apple cider sauce was smoky and pleasing paired with the mustard. Do not miss out on the bone as there is still ample amounts of meat on there! I also liked that they were generous with the cheese for the poutine. However, everything was so filling that I found myself not being able to fully enjoy the poutine. Finally, dessert ended on a perfect note. We had asked the server to surprise us with her pick, and we were not disappointed at all. The chocolate profiterole was not too sweet, balanced by the dark chocolate sauce. I also really liked the ice cream made in-house, perfectly creamy and refreshing. The food was a win in my books, and although the ambiance was not what I was expecting, I still thoroughly enjoyed the overall experienced and would like to return to sometime.

What a destination for dine out 2026. The menu is packed. We were stuffed. The ambiance was loud, lights were dim. Hospitality was great. Highlights for me were the papperdalle with the braised short rib (pasta al dente, so flavourful), arctic char cooked perfectly and their crème caramel was so decadent. Can't wait to go back!

Learning that Chez Celine is the sister restaurant of St Lawrence and that it's situated in East Vancouver (rather than the busy, hard-to-find parking downtown core), I decided to book this place. Booking for a large party of 8 needs to be emailed. Also we were emailed back 4 set menu choices for large parties ahead of time. We chose Menu C: $85 per person Course 1 Sourdough Flatbread w/ Escargots + Garlic Butter Croque Monsieur Croquettes Course 2 Cavatelli + Mushrooms + Truffle Butter Arctic Char + Sauce Meunière Course 3 Grilled T-Bone Steak + Sauce aux Poivres Charred Radishes & Sauce Tonnato Poutine Course 4 Pain Perdu + Salted Rum Caramel Crème Caramel Every dish, except for Poutine, was delicious and delicately made with love. We swapped out one of the Grilled T-bone Steak for the Pork Chop + Maple-Apple Cider Sauce. It was for me, the winner over the Grilled T-bone Steak. We unanimously loved the Pork Chop and ordered another piece. It was that good! The expectation though after receiving the $85 per person menu was each of us will get an individual serving of each item on the menu. However, it was served family style. Some dishes came in 3 servings while the proteins came in 2's. So we each got a small bite of the proteins. This explains for my 4 star rating.

We came here to celebrate and had high expectations -- especially since Chez Céline is the sister restaurant of St. Lawrence (though we know it's a different style). Every dish looked like art -- beautiful presentation and clear attention to detail. Our menu for the night: * Terrine de Campagne * Escargots & Garlic Butter * Baked Oyster Florentine * Beef Tartare & Anchovies * Spaghetti, Tomato Leaf & Sun Golds Our favourites were definitely the Baked Oyster Florentine and the Spaghetti -- both were flavorful and well-balanced.  The food overall was good, but not particularly memorable. Service was friendly and attentive, but the tables were placed a bit too close together, which made it feel less intimate. It took a while to secure a reservation, so plan ahead and do your research if you're hoping to visit. We really wanted to love it as much as St. Lawrence, but it just didn't quite reach that level -- at least not yet. Food:  3/5 Can Try! Service: ‍‍‍‍4/5 Kids: 2/5 Limited dining space, better suited for adults Price: $50-$100 per person (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking:  Street parking is available nearby Tips: * Seating time limit applies. * All guests must arrive before being seated. * Reservations highly recommended (book weeks in advance). * Cancellation fees apply. Return: Maybe

Salmon + Boursin Omelette + pistou + chèvre

This is my second review of Chez Celine, this time we're talking brunch and YES it was outstanding! We ordered coffees to start - cappuccino and latte, both so purdy with the leaf art and good coffee. We were a table of four and we ordered - the salmon gravalax + Boursin, X 2 omelette + pistou + chèvre, the crepe, and a poutine. Everything was absolutely delicious! The omelette was so light and fluffy with gorgeous creamy chèvre and chives on top! The salmon and Boursin comes with a fresh and still warm sourdough bun. Flavours are exactly what you want them to be and the salmon is so delicious and beautifully cured. The poutine is always a must. The cheese curds are perfect and the dish stays hot the whole time you're diving in for more! Service as always was stellar and the waiter we had was funny and attentive. Overall another knockout experience at Chez as always!

Delicious food and wonderful ambience. Attentive service but they did bring out the bill really late. There's no rush to get us out the door. They bring out a dessert for bday celebrants which seemed like everybody in the restaurant that night. I had the beef papardelle which was perfect and pork chops which I will definitely be back for.

This place has been on my wish list since opening and came for DOV this year. Superb ambiance and loved our server from Quebec. The DOV menu is a fantastic showcase of their regular menu. We had the beef tartare and escargot on sourdough to start. Both delicious. Trout and poutine for dinner (menu says arctic char but it was being flown in as we dined per our server) and wouldn't complain. Trout was so delicate and cooked perfect. To finish we had the maple crème caramel, a beautiful ode to Canada.

I'm a big fan of St. Lawrence, so when I found out about Chez Celine, I knew I had to try it. I decided to make reservations for a family Brunch. Upon entering, the interior immediately made me think of St. Lawrence. We were seated quickly. It took awhile before anyone came by to take our order. We ended up trying the following: - Cavatelli + Mushrooms + Poached Egg: Good. Nice dis, but nothing particularly memorable. - Celine Burger: Good. However, I'm just checking the menu now, and it was supposed to come with fries. It didn't. - Farmer Sausage + Good Beans: Very good. Sausage was great, beans were nice, and pickled peppers are a great addition. - Poutine: Good. Compared to other poutine in Vancouver, the cheese curds seemed really fresh. - Brioche + Brie + Honey: Very good. Delicious brioche and even better with the brie and honey. I wish there was more brioche. Service wasn't great. Took awhile to take our order. Food came out in reasonable time, but server completely disappeared after. After finishing, it probably took 15 min to find him again. The table next to us also noted the long delay. I think they were appropriately staffed in the kitchen but not the front. The food very much seemed like traditional Quebecois dishes, which I was looking for. I liked the food, but the service really dragged down the entire experience. I might give it another chance for dinner. .

Nice little spot with a bistro feel. Staff were excellent, food was timely and well presented. All delicious, will be back for the steak, neighbours had it, looked great.

I don't see what the complaints are about, this place is great! We got the sausage and beans, hot cake, and poutine. The hot cake was warm and cozy and drizzling in maple flavour, perfect for a rainy day. The sausage and beans are excellent as well, be sure to spoon the sauce all over. Poutine is routine but still fresh and tasty. Overall a nice low-key and delicious restaurant, love it!

i srsly think i'll become a regular here sister restaurant to the infamous st. lawrence but chez céline, in time, will be able to stand her feet and shine in her own way shoutout to our server brynn - i still love your nails and thank you for not thinking tipsy!julia was a weirdo if you've been to say mercy before, then i'd say you'd know what the restaurant will sorta be like - there is a colour scheme change and ofc, little french touches the place was bumping when i arrived and a came a little later. everyone was super welcoming and helpful when it came to food and drinks and anything else in between (e.g. julia's incessantly requests for britney spears and NSYNC to be played). it can get a little loud with the music and everyone else talking but i loved that ambience - but just a warning! drinks wise - i had the joie de vivre cocktail and yes it was boozy. rum and gin - yeah no the bottle of white wine that was recommended by brynn was VERY nice with our main - it was crisp, citrusy and stone fruit-y the food - where do i even start?! the amuse bouche was a cheese - it was rich but not overpowering. then we had the seasonal sourdough flatbread. that pesto and ricotta then came the main feature(s): the pork chop - it was juicy, tender and the moutarde that it came with def helped cut some of the greasiness of the dish. the poutine was to die for - it was still SO GOOD after it sat for a bit and wasn't HOT hot anymore. we had ordered the glorious celebration salad to balance things out but the little salad did not disappoint either - the tangy vinaigrette as well as the dill helped add dimensions to the otherwise (sorta) boring salad. we finished off our night with tipsy!julia dancing to ABBA, britney spears AND NSYNC. oh wait - dessert! we had the maple crème caramel - this is THE most canadian dessert you can ever have. you're basically swimming in maple syrup as soon as you have a bite. everything was ridiculous(ly good) and julia is seriously thinking abt becoming a regular at this place

I was a little nervous coming as my friend tried their brunch and thought it was mediocre. I was glad that I kept my reservation for dinner. While I was scared the flavour of our dishes would be too strong and heavy, I think we ordered the perfect amount and balanced dishes. The crudo was light and refreshing. I love the combination of the citrus and creamy avocado. The escargot was in a buttery pesto type of sauce. While I thought it didn't get the spotlight on its on, the flatbread it was served on soaked up all the buttery goodness which was heavenly. The glorious salad was a bit underwhelming. It helped with our veggie intake of the day but I would be recommend it as it wasn't anything unique. The oyster florentine was delicious. I love how the spinach soaked up all the flavour and the oyster was cut into smaller pieces and was tender. I am not a fan of truffle so was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the truffle butter cavatelli was. It wasn't overly heavy and creamy and the truffle flavour was not unbearably potent. Food came out a bit slow and while dishes were changed, our bottle of water was never refilled. Overall, it was a solid meal with some room for improvement. It was a bit warm in the restaurant as it was packed and didn't appear they had air circulating.

The front of the house/bar area seems to be more vibrant colours with the bright pop of red which ties into the rugs in the main dining area. I'd probably remove the second rug but if I had to guess, I'd say red may be Feenie's favourite colour as it is a touch out of place. With Michelin stars making their debut in Vancouver only a few years ago, it seems that perhaps Le Crocodile may be gunning for a star as much of the Lower Mainland seems to be. The level of service is excellent; friendly and speedy, everything you could ever want. The food is elevated but has more non-french or fusion themes going on than before. The foie gras terrine topped with cherries is the perfect combo of sweet and creamy; the brioche really brings it home. The French onion soup is gooey and rich with depth of flavour however the cheese had a bit too much of a smoky burnt taste as opposed to a charred broil. The dover sole was perfectly de-boned at table side and my mouth was watering while watching. It could've used a touch more seasoning but other than that the sides made it so elegantly French that it brought tears to my eyes. I could have done with a touch less beurre blanc as it was almost on the verge of drowning the beautiful dover sole. The presentation of Le Crocodile's dishes are truly Michelin level. I thoroughly enjoyed the medium-rare veal with what seemed to be home-made pasta and the sauce that raised it to the next level. Desserts were great and although the mini chocolates at the end are no longer in a crocodile shape they do have a decorative gold crocodile made by no other than Thomas Haas which brings in the local vibes. There were tiny things such as the scratched bread plates, the loose tea on the tea pot lid, and a small fibre in the menu which are going to be the very difference between staying at this high level and gaining a star that will need to have more attention to detail. With all that said, I'd still recommend anyone who loves French cuisine to make sure to stop by this spot.
