    It's one of my favourite French restaurant in Vancouver for a long time but it's always hard to get a table because of the long line ups. I am happy that they finally have online reservations to make it easier for customers. We started with the Foie Gras as appetizer, which is duck foie gras and turkey terrine with sourdough bread. For entrees, my partner got Saumon a L'unilaterale which is panseared salmon with tagliatelle, gem lettce, and fish veloute. I got the Magret de Canard which is my favourite French food. The cardamom glazed duck breast is rich and tender, balanced well with celeriac, apple, Swiss chard, buckwheat, and duck jus.

    The best part of the meal were the pomme dauphine balls on the steak dish. Super good! Everything else was just okay. We were most excited for the choucroute dish with a mix of meats but the presentation looked blah and it tasted blah too. But overall, a cute vibe and a nice romantic spot.

    My husband and I had a lovely brunch here with a friend last Sunday. We arrived early enough so we didn't have to wait for a table. I had looked up the menu and was all set to have the poitrine de porc et lentilles. I always love a good piece of pork belly. However, having looked at the menu one more time just before the waiter came to take our orders, I changed my mind and ordered the assiette au comptoir instead. I had just had a cassoulet the week prior and the duck fat potato rösti in the house dish looked really tempting. I'm glad I changed my mind. The potato rösti was sinfully good. It was crispy throughout on the outside and and inside just melted in my mouth with every bit of rich duck fat flavour. I savoured every single bite. We all had cafés allongées to round out our brunch. The coffees were rich and strong and served in lovely Cafés Richard cups and saucers. I will have to go back for the poitrine de porc.

    Amazing service, ambience and food. Portion is great to for lunch. Highly recommend and wish there was one in Downtown like this

    We were looking for a good and authentic French restaurant in Vancouver for an anniversary. Many places around are usually French fusion and we wanted to have just the whole experience. Other reviews have said that service was curt and moody, but when we went, our waiter was great! He was super attentive (but not overbearing), glasses got filled up constantly, and plates were cleared promptly. We went quite early so restaurant was just filled with a couple other tables and noise level wasn't too loud. We ordered 2 appetizers - the scallops ($22) and tartare de wagyu ($21). Scallops were nice and fresh and each bite was slightly tart due to the lemon. Serrano ham added a nice crunch. Super impressed with this dish. Actually really thought that the sardines balanced with the scallops. Tartar was pretty typical and tasty. The bread that it came with was soft and fluffy which I loved. For mains, we ordered the duck breast ($42) and ribeye with fries ($42). Duck was my favourite! Duck wasn't cooked to absolute perfection but was tender enough. Loved the plum sauce as well, pretty similar to hk-style roast but it was a less thick sauce overall. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy the ribeye - both the steak and fries were quite salty in my opinion (probably from the peppercorn sauce). Salad was on the overly sour-side from the dressing. Just a lot going on for the taste buds but nothing really stood out. I actually really liked all their appetizers. Definitely on the pricier side but I had a great time and would consider for another special occasion.

    Stopped in here to get out of the heat during the Khatsahlano street party. I didn't get any food, so I can't comment on that. I can comment that the drinks and service are impeccable though! The food did look and smell good though! Sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. I asked them for a drink they don't normally make, they listened to how I like it and made it perfectly. Good banter with the staff while sitting there. Overall, standup place with a great staff. I'll come back to try the food next time!

    Sunday Brunch. The burger was absolutely delicious and a good size for one person. The omelette included an option to add asparagus or mushrooms but they come on the side not in the omelette. Assiette au comptoir was a French take on a classic breakfast. Almost every dish comes with fries and a green salad. Go in with the expectation of a limited menu and limited modifications. The restaurant is quaint and very charming however not super accommodating for parties larger than four people. Would be best for a couple! We were able to squeeze five into a bench seat table but it was tight. As the space is small the service was good and it's easy to find your server when needed. Overall a great place for lunch and I've heard the steak frites are to die for!

    Literally one of my favourite French bistro in town. We came here to celebrate one summer afternoon. I love to start off my meal with good baguette and butter with fine red wine. We had this scrumptious duck dish. The skin was crispy and the meat tender. We couldn't stop talking about it. We also had the seared sea scallops which was cooked to perfection. I wish we could make reservation as I would be here way more frequently but it is a first come first serve basis establishment. It is worth the wait? Definitely especially if you are here for dinner.

    Est-ce que tu parles français? I don't speak French, but I do know that French cuisine is delicious. We had Le Brunch at Au Comptoir and were seated beside the open window at a table that had an antique Singer treadle foot pedal. I started off with a cappuccino and a cute bite size cookie. My main was a FLÉTAN SUR BRIOCHE translated means Halibut on Brioche. Looks like an eggs Benedict. It was quite busy and the wait listed customers outside kept staring at us which made our stay short.     For our anniversary, we thought of giving this french restaurant a try. I have been hearing about this place for some time now, but when the pandemic hit, i had no chance to give it a go. But now tha things have opened up a bit....Lets do it!!! The place itself does look at your typical french cafe/restaurant in paris. From the ambiance, furniture, cutlery, to the servers...you get that feeling of dining at an authentic french bistro. The food was excellent! Very impressive and full of vibrance and colour. We started with the special of the day appy..pork and chicken liver pate. wow! Full of flavour and such a generous serving too. Plit came with 2 toasted crustinis for that crunch and balance of textures. The pate itself was smooth and freshly made. For mains, we had the duck and the lamb sirloin. Both were equally amazing. Presentation was spot on, and the flavours and execution superior in every way. The duck was tender and juicy. The best part was the skin. It was cracklin and crispy....and complimented the tender meat. Aside from duck confit, ive never had duck served like this. Reminds me of chinese roasted pork cooking method where they dry out the skin and torch it leaving you that crunch. So good!! The lamb sirloin equally amazing. Meat was so succulent , juicy, and tender, which tells me there is a true french master chef at the helm. Perfect execution and seasoning as well. No after taste or lamb smell at all. Just robust flavours to entice the taste buds. For dessert, we had the chocolate lava cake. It was a cook to order dessert, and they did it flawlessly. Unlike other places where the chocolate in the center has either dried out or lacking in chocolate, this one was oozing with dark chocolatey goodness. The cake itself was plump and held the lava together. Complimented by creme brulee ice cream and some brown sugar. Perfect ending to a wonderful meal! Service was prompt and efficient. I would definitely be back to try the other entrees. Another not so hidden gem in kits! Cheers! Happy eating!!!

Prices are also upscale. I had one cocktail which was okay though not standout. Overall, an incredible meal that took me by surprise - I honestly think better than my meal at St Lawrence. Everything was really good to amazing. Will eagerly return to try their tasting menu next time.

The menu appeared to be the same but there were several specials for the evening. The food came but for some reason was not exciting. The taste was fine but each bite did not evoke the desire to have another. We finished the dinner and left a bit disappointed as our expectation was high.

It was actually the desserts that stood out for me, because they were less traditional and more of a surprise. Service was spot-on. We had a dedicated server for our table and she was attentive, friendly and professional. She was everything you would want in fine-dining restaurant. Overall a nice meal. I don't think you can have a bad meal here, but haven eaten at a lot of fine-dining restaurants , I know the dishes won't stand out in my memory either.
