Try the mussels, worth a visit. If you like genuine French cuisine, you must give Michel a try.

No wait time, and we were seated quickly in the middle of a bistro art déco, mobilier et décor classiques. Classic Breakfast included 2 eggs any style, local potatoes, toast, salad, juice of your choice, and a pot of coffee. Bircher Muesli with a generous serving of yogurt and toppings, Other mornings: Omelet, Continental Breakfast, and French Toast. Service was excellent, different personnel each morning, always consistent and great service. Alouette Bistro made our stay in Vancouver that much more special.

But what really sets it apart is the people. Every single person we interacted with, from our servers to the management team, was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel like regulars by day two. The food? Consistently incredible. Not a single miss across four days, which feels almost suspicious (in the best way). The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and every plate comes out looking like it belongs on a magazine cover. You can tell there's real care behind what they're doing. A special shoutout to Leah, the manager, who somehow manages to be both incredibly professional and effortlessly personable. She runs a tight ship but still makes time to connect, which doesn't go unnoticed. By the end of our trip, Alouette wasn't just a breakfast spot--it became part of our routine, and honestly, part of what we'll miss most about Vancouver. I'd come back here in a heartbeat... and very likely order the exact same thing all over again.

This was a return visit on a cold rainy night. The restaurant was busy and we didn't make a reservation but was accommodated. Middle of the week but it was busy. The menu appeared to be the same but there were several specials for the evening. The food came but for some reason was not exciting. The taste was fine but each bite did not evoke the desire to have another. We finished the dinner and left a bit disappointed as our expectation was high.

The food was very tasty and honestly reflective of the chef's award-winning status. Service (1/1): Service was impressive. The meal outside of Dine Out season was quite an experience--there was a wine pairing that was served in a dark, opaque glass, which forced me to use my nose and taste buds to try and figure out what wine it was. Ambiance: The ambiance was elegant and quite suitable for the meal. Would I come here again: Yes

It was so long ago that I last went, I don't remember what the placed looked like. But what I do remember was the fantastic views over the water and immediate surroundings, and that continues to be a big draw. We had a private corner of the restaurant for the event, and were given a group menu. I ended up trying the Hand Cut Beef Tartare, Burrata Cheese, Sablefish and Beef Tenderloin, and I have the same comment for each of them - all classically prepared focusing on simple ingredients, simple preparation and nicely plated. These dishes are timeless, and I feel that these are same fine-dining dishes that have existed i. high end restaurants in Vancouver from 30 years ago. That's not a bad thing, because they will always please the palate, but in the same vein, not as memorable either. It was actually the desserts that stood out for me, because they were less traditional and more of a surprise. Service was spot-on. We had a dedicated server for our table and she was attentive, friendly and professional. She was everything you would want in fine-dining restaurant. Overall a nice meal. I don't think you can have a bad meal here, but haven eaten at a lot of fine-dining restaurants , I know the dishes won't stand out in my memory either. But the view will, and that's the main reason one would go here.
