    We came here to try the prix fixe for $38. That is a steal in today's economy, and the food is fantastic. We tried the gnocchi, braised beef, duck confit and the seafood linguine as mains, and they do not skimp on the size of the mains on the set menus. Then we had the onion soup, ceviche and mango salad as appies. And the crème brûlée and crumble as deserts. All well made, tasty. Lavidas reminds me of Grub On Main which sadly ended business in 2024. Now finally I found this place. Sure to come back.

    Food, AMAZING. Service, very slow. Came here during the Khatsahlano street festival which was PACKED outside. After we got seated it took awhile to get things like waters, menus, etc. After a short time we noticed it was because there was only 1 person working the front. Seating people, taking orders, running plates, all just 1 lady. We ordered the BC clams and chorizo, as well as from the prix fixe menu. We got the scallops and prawn ceviche, duck confit, and the creme brulee. Each dish was outstanding both in presentation, depth of flavors, and balance. I really cant say which one was my favorite, each one was absolutely stunning. If I were to rate this place on food alone it would be 5-stars. In total it took over 2 hours to complete our meal though. The food was so good it almost made the wait completely worth it. However rating for the overall experience is 4-star. If they hired another person for front and back of house, this place would be elite.

This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. However i find the escargot a bit pricey with the quantity and the way it was prepared. It was surprisingly tasty and interesting as bread goes - Baked pacific oysters: tasty, rich, exactly as you'd expect - Pork jowl confit: absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and the flavours on the plate were really thoughtfully put together - Agnolotti: delicious, satisfying - Hamachi: really good although perhaps not as memorable as some of the other dishes - Lamb saddle: Basically lamb two ways, cooked perfectly Service was attentive and the ambiance was intimate and romantic, somewhat upscale. Prices are also upscale. I had one cocktail which was okay though not standout. Overall, an incredible meal that took me by surprise - I honestly think better than my meal at St Lawrence. Everything was really good to amazing. Will eagerly return to try their tasting menu next time.

The menu appeared to be the same but there were several specials for the evening. The food came but for some reason was not exciting. The taste was fine but each bite did not evoke the desire to have another. We finished the dinner and left a bit disappointed as our expectation was high.

That's not a bad thing, because they will always please the palate, but in the same vein, not as memorable either.
