Great service and delicious food! Definitely check out the specials listed outside before going in. Great typical American breakfast. Scattered with some Mexican food but if you like authentic you'll be disappointed. I tried the chilaquiles today and although tasty they were not what I wanted. Chunks of pork and shredded American cheese ruined it for me. BUT it wasn't bad. I just was in the mood for authentic. Took a picture after so obviously it was good enough to eat. Just left the pork. My son had the eggs, bacon, and sausage with hash brown and toast. All perfectly cooked. Service as always was excellent. Ambiance is clean, small establishment. Gets very busy. Mostly tables and chairs. Wall of cushioned benches and 2 booths. Come early or be willing to wait. Never been too long though, they process orders quickly. Definitely give this place a try.

Good food, good service, extensive menu, and great senior prices. It is hard to go wrong at Cheliz for breakfast or lunch.

Red chilaquiles & green Chilaquiles

Their red chilaquiles are my favorite super crunchy, flavorful, and served in generous portions. They're actually famous for their green pork chilaquiles, but since I don't eat pork, I always go for the red ones and they never disappoint.

OMG! This place is a must! Food is SO good! We flew in from Atlanta and were hungry for Mexican food so I went to Yelp to find a spot and saw Cheliz! When we first walked in I was concerned that there wasn't any Mexican dishes but Rosalia and Lorena told us about the Jiwvoa Rancheros, Tamales plate, and Verde Burrito - the verde sauce is MONEY! We ate every morsel on the plate! We loved it so much that we are going back tomorrow for breakfast! And I will take a few seconds to take pictures!

Steak and Eggs

Another stop thanks to Yelp. The service here was outstanding and the food was just as good. I ordered the NY steak and eggs but the steak was as tendered as a ribeye. I almost think they confused the two but the steak did not have ribeye fat. They cooked it to perfection which was a pleasant surprise. The chilaquiles were tasty but needed spice. I would recommend spicing up the green sauce a little. It was good but I think adding a jalapeño or Serrano to it would make it perfect. This place is worth the 4.5-5 stars on Yelp.

This is a hidden little gem in Redlands. Good food and reasonably priced. Our server Alexis was so sweet and helpful. Our food was very tasty and came out fast. I'm a stickler for poached eggs done correctly and they hit the mark here. Perfectly cooked whites and a runny yolk center. The only recommendation I would make is that they make the avocado toast on Sourdough instead of wheat bread. Everything was on point. Ill be back if Im in Redlands or passing through again. Recommend 100%

Looks like a piece of toast. Supposed to be french toast! Where's the cinnamon?!
Michael B.

First off, I ordered by phone and even gave them 10 extra minutes after they said my breakfast would be ready in ten. However, my biggest beef is the french toast. First, only one bread, not two, then the "chef" didnt put any love in making them by forgetting the cinnamon! At this point, it's not french toast! Worst french toast I've ever had! Period. And how much all of us pay now for basic dishes at restaurants makes it worse!

Bacon, sausage, eggs and hash browns.

Food was good, service was slow even though it wasn't packed, simple and clean ambiance.

Located in a strip mall and easy to find. Ample parking. The place wasn't too busy when we arrived. The staff was nice. The food was delicious. The fried chicken was so crispy and seasoned well. The onion rings looked delicious but had a flour-like taste. They were crispy though. I would come back for sure

It's a darn good thing we live too far away, because these two meals could do serious damage to your waistline and your self control. Chicken fried chicken - a big beautiful chicken breast, split and pounded so its thinner. It claimed most of my big platter and hung over the side. It had been hand dipped in a soulful batter that comes out crispy and delicious. Then, it was smothered in a delicious, creamy sausage gravy. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, soft, the country potatoes were made from thinly sliced red potatoes, bell pepper, and onion. A marriage made in heaven. Country fried steak - prepared exactly the same way, but with steak, pounded thin. The size will freak you out, it's so huge. Mr. B chose hash browns and two over-easy eggs. His only complaint? He remarked that the serving of scrambled eggs were much larger. Biscuits. Not sure, but these appeared to be freshly baked, not from a supplier. They were quite nice. They served the gravy on the side, then brought a cup of softened, real butter. The Smuckers blackberry Jam was the final touch. What a temptation. The service was impeckable and friendly. Breakfast Shack is incredibly charming, with indoor, patio, and counter top seating. Much bigger than it's parking lot can accommodate. I was too distracted to notice where most of the masses park but my guess is, in nearby public parking. Real comfort food competing with the very best in So Cal.

I think this is where I get off the Breakfast Shack train…read more I've always been perturbed by the up-charge game they play when you swap out fruit for the hash browns. They like to bang you a couple extra bucks when they're actually taking away the hash browns for fruit but I live with it. Took my wife for breakfast yesterday and I ordered only one meal since she wasn't very hungry, but asked for a second plate because I knew she'd wanna eat something. At the register we noticed they charged us an extra 2 bucks for the plate. When my wife asked about this, the fatty fatty behind the counter said "that charge is listed on the menu" and she was rather snotty about it in her tone and delivery. Now I've been coming to this place a couple of times a month for almost 5 years and although it may be notated on the menu, I've personally never seen it. Perhaps the waitress could have/should have mentioned it at the time of the order? Overall the food is decent and the staff friendly but this little game they play with discreetly making an extra buck pisses me off. Add in the shitty attitude and it completes the package for a business we will no longer patronize. When we first started coming here I was in at least once a week and more like twice per week on the weekends cuz I'd take my wife. But slowly we began going elsewhere and now the few hundred bucks a month we were spending, we will spend at another spot. And the really sad thing is IF they even read this, they won't give a crap.

We entered the restaurant and we were seated within 5 minutes. That's the only thing that was fast. Took 10 minutes to get silverware. Another 7 minutes to just get water. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Other tables who came in after got their drinks and orders taken before us. Another 10 minutes to finally get our server to take our order. Another 10 minutes for him to come back and tell me there was no Coke or Dr Pepper. I ordered corned beef hash with only 2 eggs instead of the usual 3 and the country potatoes with no onion or pepper. My husband ordered the country fried steak and my son ordered the healthy omelet. We all ordered biscuits and gravy on the side. My order came with 4 eggs, onions and peppers mixed in my potatoes and a small scoop of canned corned beef hash (about the size of a small cooked egg). When the onion mix ups happen, I usually just pick the onions out and give them to my husband. This time they were too small and it would take too long to pick out. Took me another 8 minutes to flag down the server for this, explain about the eggs and to ask for some salsa. I got my potatoes back cold with a little bit less onions and peppers. I tried, but could definitely taste the onions. The eggs I was told to go ahead and keep and I wouldn't be charged. My husband's chicken fried steak was huge but very flavorless. Not even the "homemade" salsa (tasted like jar salsa) helped. My son did enjoy his omelet. Now as far as the biscuits and gravy. We did get a decent size biscuit in a cereal bowl drowning in gravy. Never thought I'd say this, but it was way too much gravy. We couldn't do it. All of our food had the flavor of a dirty, burned griddle. I was only able to eat one egg and four bites of potatoes. My husband ate 1/4 of his food. My son only ate his omelet. Never got refills for our waters. We had to flag down the waiter for our checks. We were over charged by $10 for coffee that we never ordered and an extra egg. Had to flag a different server to help us fix this. We were happy to get out of there. We usually give a restaurant 3 tries before eliminating them, but this restaurant left us disgusted, annoyed and with tummy aches and headaches. I saw the servers and shirts said no whining, but how can you not with this type of food and service. I don't understand the crowds. To each their own, I'm just stating our 1st impression.

We hadn't been to Eureka since they moved to the new location, and OMG, the new location is BANGING. Such a vibe! The music was great, the atmosphere made me want to stay and hang out all afternoon, and apparently Tuesdays are also half-off wine days?! I got a 9 oz pour for $8.25. EIGHT DOLLARS AND TWENTY-FIVE CENTS. That is unheard of, and it was really yummy. Honestly, I did not want to leave. Unfortunately, my husband had to go back to work, and I was sitting there wishing he would just take the rest of the day off and hang out with me. The lunch specials are also a great deal at around $13. I had the al pastor fish tacos, which were really yummy. I feel like the "al pastor" part was mostly the seasoning and pineapple, but they still had great flavor. You can also add a third taco for a 3 bucks, which is nice. My husband got the ahi poke bowl and OH. MY. GOSH. It was SO GOOD. Whatever sauce they put on that bowl needs to make its way over to the fish tacos! That would be my one critique. The sour cream on the tacos actually took away from the flavor a little bit for me. Swap that out for some of that delicious sauce from the ahi bowl, and I seriously think those tacos would go from five-star to TEN-STAR status. I swapped my fries for the Brussels sprouts, and those did NOT disappoint. Super delicious! The sauce settles toward the bottom, so give them a good mix and you're golden. And then came dessert... The bourbon barrel cake. I was basically fainting over how good it was. Absolutely delicious and such a perfect way to end lunch. Our server, Ellias (with two Ls!), was awesome too. Super attentive, friendly, and took great care of us the entire time. Five stars for the food. Five stars for the atmosphere. Five stars for the service. Even though we came in before the lunch rush and it wasn't packed yet, the place still had such a great energy. It didn't need to be busy to feel like a vibe. Definitely coming back to try some of the other lunch specials, and probably another Tuesdate because apparently $8.25 glasses of wine are now part of my Tuesday lunch-date plans. Great experience all around. Five, five, FIVE!

Still undercooked inside. They took those 2 off the check, but bill was still $117 for 3 of us. Two appetizers that were good. One other burger, one soda & two margaritas. When I ordered they asked, "is Casamigos okay"? Not realizing they were $20 each for about a 3 oz. drink once ice was removed. One of the things that really peeved me was that a stack of dirty dishes on the edge of the table was ignored by at least 4 different people (including the manager). We were still hungry so we went next door to LA Popular for exceptional service & food. They are owned by the same parent company BTW.
