Up top is the Ume and down below is the Ichi

Chef Choo's sushi is the best in town! Everything is so fresh and beautiful! I've had the omakase before and today I tried a couple of new menu items - the Ichi and the Ume. Of course they were both incredible and huge portions! Chef Choo is a master in the kitchen and his dishes are masterpieces. You definitely want to place your order asap and enjoy an omakase at home! He's also the nicest human!

Masterpiece, genius....Master Genius? These are just a few words I would use to describe Chef Choo's omakase creations. After trying his take on sandwiches at Choo Sando, I'm happy to say that the same amount of quality and level of detail is equally seen if not more in the omakase creations. Atmosphere: Although the food is all done via pre-order and take out only, you can still see the level of effort and detail put into the products. Great boxing, charming containers that are so nice you may even want to keep them. Complete with Chef Choo logo. Food: Now here is the real deal, any fan of Omakase style service and foods, this is a real treat not just for the stomach but for the eyes too. I ended up going with the Poseidon order, from beginning to end I was just beyond impressed. The fish served all tasted delicious along with such high quality presentation stand out for me being the fatty salmon...it's got that melt in your mouth good feel. Some orders come with a side of Sakura rice which is great to have not just as a complimentary piece but also to fill anyone whom maybe more on the hungrier side. Service: As stated above all service is done via curbside/pickup, with that said however, Chef is very nice and welcomes any compliments. Not only a culinary delight but a visual one as well, this is one experience you'll want to savor, best of all it can all be done from the comfort of your own home! So Rock 'n' Roe on all over for any Omakase cravings.

70 Piece Set

This was my very first Omakase and I can't imagine a better way to lose my first than to Chef Choo. To be completely honest, although there was a list of the fish provided, there were a solid couple where I could not tell what I was eating. But everything that entered my mouth was beyond delicious. The fish was fresh, well prepared, well balanced, and it was just a overall very delectable experience. We got the 70 piece set and it had anything and everything from your standard salmon to bluefin tuna to sea urchin and more. More often than not, the sets are completely sold out so if you can get your hands on this and you have a special occasion coming up, highly recommend splurging and treating yourself! Favorites from the sets: - Sweet Shrimp: texture was just the right amount of give, very sweet and flavorful, can easily tell that it was fresh, definitely one of the best sweet shrimps that I have had - Seared Tuna with Caviar: adding the sear provided a different texture, there is a bit of smokiness that is added, and it blended really well with the rawness, the caviar in addition just upped the flavor - Otoro with gold leaf: my personal favorite for all the reasons that you may suspect, it was the best piece of tuna that I have ever had. I honestly think if the entire 70 piece set was this, I would be happy. Also, you know it was gonna be good when the rice doesn't just crumble from soy sauce. Side notes: - When you order ahead of time, they will send you a pick up time and pick up instructions. Most of this is delivered via text. - The types of nigiri that you get are all outlined via text for you to use as reference. - Aside from the sushi, there is also home made soy sauce and citrus ponzu combined with pickled veggies.

Purchased this for an at home sushi dinner for 4 and we really enjoyed it! Fish was fresh and flavor was great. There is always some risk of taking home sushi that the flavor changes but not in this case! Recommend if you are looking for a great at home experience.

Chef Choo's food is one of a kind! We've ordered from Chef Choo 4 times now and every time we've been blown away by the experience. The quality of the fish and other ingredients is truly top notch. Choo curates a great home experience with the expert skill put into the execution and packaging of each dish. We've explored many of the top end omakase experiences around Austin and Chef Choo's quality, portion size, and passion is the experience we come back for again and again.

Omakase sushi yummyyyyy so fresh and high quality!

The uni was a vibrant orange. I was talking with my friend when I first took a bite of the Toro, and literally had to pause the conversation with how surprised I was by its texture, truly feeling like a piece of Wagyu. It was overall just so much sashimi as well for the $42 price tag -- you could honestly split it with someone. They also had a gluten-free menu and provided gluten-free tamari, which was appreciated.

To start, their Gyoza and Caramelized Brussels Sprouts are prime examples of items often seen but enjoyed in a new way. They have my favorite Specialty Rolls in town - filled with top quality fresh fish, original flavor combinations, and the sweet/spicy combo my palate prefers. "Land & Sea," and "Kiss Kiss" are 2 I love to rotate depending on my mood. You cannot go wrong with a variety of fresh fish served in generous portions served in classic but delicious ways, accenting natural flavors. This visit Alisa provided professional service with quick turnaround, and I tried something new - Garlic Edamame is charred and best eaten while dining alone. My favorite Salmon Nigiri is always fresh, low-sodium soy may not be traditional, but cuts the wasabi and was thoroughly enjoyed! Atmosphere is lovely for a strip-mall shop - piano Jazz and cozy booths, along with private dining rooms make this space ready for all occasions!

They were beautifully presented and the spices they put on the outside were surprisingly tasty. We also really enjoyed the potstickers and shrimp tempura. The katsu set was solid overall, and I absolutely loved the pickled vegetables that came with it. They also sell the pickles up front as grab-and-go containers, which I was very tempted to take home. The karaage was probably the only thing I wouldn't order again, and the miso soup was unfortunately very plain and watery compared to everything else. A small touch I appreciated was the cookie that came with the set. It was simple but really nice. They were out of the ice cream flavors we originally came for (black sesame), which was disappointing, but we ended up trying the miso caramel flavor and it was surprisingly delicious. The waffle cone was a little old, chewy, and stale. One thing that really stood out was the service. The cashier had one of the most genuine, sincere smiles and was such a pleasure to order from. Overall, definitely worth visiting for the onigiri. I already want to come back to try the matcha and black sesame ice cream flavors next time.

I went there on a Friday morning around 10:15 and I was about the 5th in line. The line was reasonable, but I like to get there early so that all the options are available. I've gone later, when there is no line, but you are limited in choices. Let's start with the food. You can definitely not go wrong. Every item is beautifully presented and a piece of art, almost too beautiful to eat, ALMOST... I've tried a variety from their sushi combinations and they're all good. I've also tried a few of the sandos and my favorite are the Pork Katsu, lobster, and egg salad. The service is always friendly. It's a small store front and seems like mostly family run, but I could be wrong about this. Often Chef Choo himself is there to help greet people at the door. If you've never been, I highly recommend. Whenever I have an excuse, I definitely stop by to treat myself.

My first time wasn't too memorable and the second time I got the ultra spicy veggie ramen and it was so spicy I cried (which is good haha i have very high spice tolerance so I'm glad I found a spot that can do truly spicy). This time, I got the deluxe Chicken Paitan DX Ramen (the one that comes with the chicken leg). Chicken Paitan DX Ramen: A sweet soy glazed chicken leg is served on a hot sizzling plate with a small bed of bean sprouts marinating in the sauce. The sauce is a sticky, sweet soy sauce that is so delicious. The chicken leg itself is tender, juicy, and has a great skin texture. The skin soaks up the sauce so well and even has some nice charred bits that add to the flavor and complexity of the dish. The ramen itself was great too. A creamy rich chicken broth. I got the spicy level, so one level under the top spice level and it was perfect. Not unbearably spicy, but had a really nice underlying kick. The noodles are a thin yet snappy noodle so it made it easy to eat. I love the corn and mushroom spirals too! Overall, if you come based on this review, make sure to get the chicken paitan dx ramen. There are only 15 served in a day but ask them if they have it because I was able to get one on a Monday night at around 8PM! It's a nice space, good for a date or even a casual hangout. They have tables to accomodate parties of 1, 2, 4, and possibly 6.
