The staff is very nice. The food was overall good, the Cajun Asian roll was mediocre. The katsu was excellent! Overall a nice place, family owned! Will definitely return. They have ACYE options which we didn't opt for this time but def looked great!

I used to come here pre covid and hadn't been in a while. I was presently surprised with the quality and flavor of everything we had! The nigiri (escalor, yellowtail and peppered tuna) were all fresh and perfect temperature/ flavor. The stuffed mushrooms and jalapeños were really great- I love texture to me sushi as well as sauces. We had a few rolls- double tuna, scallop in the snow (not pictured) and I forgot the others - I was a tad disappointed in scallop in the show as I was unable to locate any scallop . The spicy edemame was flavorful and smoky. Plenty of tables but not great for large parties however they can accommodate if needed. Our server was quick and kind, drinks were refilled promptly and he came to check on us frequently. I will definitely be back soon!

The image shows a black table set with multiple plates of sushi, including rolls, sashimi, and garnished dishes. Condiments such as soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger are present in small dishes. Chopsticks rest on a plate, and beverages including a glass of water and a dark drink are visible. The setting appears to be a Japanese restaurant with a modern interior.

First time at Tsukimi but definitely not my last. Food was amazing, delicious flavors and service was great! Sashimi perfectly seasoned and flavored. Not too crowded we were sat right away. Nice calm ambiance, great for chatting and catching up with a friend!

Japanese Lasagna

This place was AMAZING. Perfect place to end the night. The food was immaculate, highly recommend the Japanese lasagna and the yellow tail sushi. However, besides the food the service was so welcoming. We had Mia as a waitress/manager and she won us over and will be our main reason to returning to Tsukimi. She was so sweet, helpful and reassuring throughout our stay and truly made our experience 100/10. We can't wait to be back!

Stuffed jalapeños. Lots of Flavor! Not spicy.

Each time I get here, I have always tried their wonderful and plentiful ayce options. The last visit was a show stopper. My son and I were hungry and came in at 1:30 and they close by 2:30 pm. for siesta. Being the only customers there at this time we get to enjoy all their time and attention. I especially enjoy their the salmon poke and order this with each visit. This last visit included a beautiful presentation of the rolls, thoughtfully and neatly displayed in a ring. It was just so pleasing on the eye that it paused us to view, take lots of pictures, and enjoy our sushi from all angles with the eyes, and tastebuds. And it was fresh and well-received. My son ordered the chicken Katsu twice, because of the chicken perfectly fried crispy panko batter. He said this to be our best sushi we ever enjoyed together! The plating was on point and worth mentioning. Thank you Tsukimi for a memorable experience.

Pork Bulgogi

This AYCE sushi place always hits the spot. The sushi quality is comparable to the other ayce sushi places but the kitchen items are great. The pork bulgogi, udon, and bulgogi are standouts from what we had out of the kitchen entrees.

Wonderful place for birthdays!!

Came on a Saturday around 4:30 pm. They had a single waitress working the whole establishment. She was literally RUNNING table to table while the hostess read a book. Food took forever. Sushi absolutely sucked. Everything tasted off- the scallops tasted like literal bandaids. The tuna eggrolls literally tasted like canned tuna. Nothing was fresh and stuff took FOREVER to come out even though the place was about a quarter full, if that. Will never return. Felt bad for the server she tried.

Banana tempura with vanilla ice cream and red bean ice cream - The image shows three bowls of ice cream on a black table. The left bowl contains vanilla ice cream, the right bowl has strawberry ice cream, and the rectangular dish at the top features a banana tempura dessert topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. The banana tempura is garnished with whipped cream on the sides, and the ice creams are served in clear bowls, with a spoon in the strawberry ice cream. The setting appears to be a dessert presentation, possibly at a restaurant or cafe.

Arrived just after they opened along with two other couples. Even with 3 tables sitting at the same time, service was good. The server was attentive, explaining the AYCE (all you can eat) rules to us. We ordered a good number of rolls and appetizers to try. The appetizers were not strongly flavored. I liked the breading on the chicken katsu and it was fried well. I liked the spicier sauces on the rolls but felt like overall they had too much sauce in them and the sushi itself was not my favorite. If you're looking for a steal of a deal and decent sushi, then this AYCE is a great choice. My favorite roll out of the 10 we ordered was the Monster* deep fried roll.

The image shows a Japanese bento box with multiple compartments containing sushi rolls, steamed white rice, tempura vegetables including zucchini and onion rings, and grilled chicken topped with sauce and sesame seeds. Accompanying the meal are small portions of soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger. The bento is placed on a dark table, with a glass of water, a smartphone, and a red bowl with a spoon visible nearby.

It's pretty good, a step above HEB sushi. I feel that the rice in the sushi servings are very thick in comparison to the slices of sashimi but I've been here a couple times and it sometimes hit or miss. I went there for lunch one day and they're bento boxes were actually pretty good value. It was like 15 bucks and a lot of food. Overall I'm a repeat customer but it's not anything fancy but definitely hits the spot

Menu for AYCE - A menu encased in a clear plastic sleeve is placed on a black, speckled table surface. The menu lists various food options, including sushi rolls, salads, and other Japanese dishes, with prices indicated. A pen is positioned on the left side of the menu, and the background shows a wooden floor. The menu appears to be from a Japanese restaurant offering a range of sushi and other Asian cuisine.

Small place, pretty plain inside. Mostly open area with tables and a sushi bar Came in and was asked all you can eat or regular menu. Wasn't sure so they gave me both. Looked them over and decided to go with all you can eat They do the ordering in rounds here, and you can do up to 4 rounds. They don't limit you but have Recommendations ofn3 rolls and 20 nigiri a round. They also have the standard AYCE rules about charging full price for unfinished items and rice Ordered 2 rolls and 8 nigiri to start. The Japanese lasagna baked roll is called crawfish over cheese and was good. Nice take on a classic. Also got the Tex mex roll and it was good but not as spicy as I'd hoped. Nigiri was good, fresh but small. Had all the usual suspects, tuna, salmon, yellowtail etc. I like more fish than rice and was opposite here but very tasty and fresh For round 2 I tried the shrimp tempura and tempura bananas. Both were excellent. You get 2 shrimps with the AYCE but was very light and tasty. Banal was really good and was my dessert. I only made it through 2 rounds. Service was a mixed bag. Server was friendly and very helpful. Answered all my questions and brought food with a smile. Only issue was he spent as much time making out with the hostess as waiting on tables. There was 3 tables while I was there, and we spent a lot of time waiting while they passionately made out, loudly kissing. I've been young and in love so I get it but was weird for sure I'd definitely come back

We decided to come to this place last minute on a Friday night since the other place we had planned to go was packed. Originally, when we walked in, the entire restaurant was empty. It was only us and one other table, so we were worried about the quality of the food here. However after trying a couple of their sushi, I was pleasantly surprised. We did their AYCE menu which comes with a variety of appetizers, rolls, and nigiris. Our server, Theresa, was fantastic! She gracefully explained the menu to us and even gave us recommendations on what to order, which all ended up being our favorites! We got the caterpillar roll and spider roll, and both were pretty standard sushi rolls. For appetizers, we got the tuna and salmon poke and the balloon fish tempura, which were all good choices. Finally, I spent the rest of my time munching down on their nigiris. The quality of their fish was good for an ayce restaurant. I really enjoyed their salmon, eel, salmon belly, and scallop nirgiris. The sushi did take some time to come out in between rounds. Although the restaurant was empty, I'm pretty sure it's just the location itself is the reasoning for that since it's next to a freeway. Overall, I ended up really enjoying the food and do plan to come back!

The intimate, speakeasy setting is such a vibe! Hidden behind a bookcase tucked away in Holey Moley, Chef Saine and his small team bring you an incredible 14-course experience with top-tier ingredients sourced directly from local farmers in Japan. With only 6 seats per session, this is a cozy experience and one I definitely could not recommend more. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, located in East Austin, there is plenty of street parking. - Reservations can be tricky to land, but you can grab weeknight ones if you're flexible. - Pricing is about $170/person, with the option to add on drinks and extra bites (3 extra for $45/person). Tax and tip not included. My favorite bites were the maguro blue fin (an incredible start to the night!), the buttery Kanpachi amberjack, and the Wagyu ribeye with salted egg yolk (steak and eggs). Everything is stellar, and the Belgium chocolate ice cream finish with a little serenading from Chef is a great way to wrap up the experience. Service is top notch!

Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in. I ended up ordering two more! We came during happy hour which is available on the weekend and sampled all the happy hour market fish which luckily featured 4 different selections including madai or Japanese sea bream that is my favorite. Tried several other dishes including: *gyudon with wagyu, crispy rice, pomegranate. *grilled romaine hand roll with crab edamame-jalapeño *snow crab gunkan calabrian chili, fried leeks, *broccoli katsu with chili aioli The daily specials are worth exploring, and I always recommend asking your server for guidance. Ordered my regular "go-to" dishes including: *hirame usuzukuri thinly-sliced flounder, candied quinoa, olive oil *ebi shrimp tempura *kabocha japanese pumpkin tempura *zero sen roll yellowtail, avocado, shallot, cilantro The fish quality is exceptional. Fresh, clean, buttery, and beautifully presented. I didn't even start eating sushi until discovering Uchi. The balance of flavors is what stands out most to me. Every dish is thoughtfully curated. I especially appreciate how they layer texture and temperature so each bite feels composed. The best example of this is the biendo roll with tempura shrimp spring roll, nuoc mam, red grape. The grape on top is chilled and it has texture from the crispy shrimp tempura. Their sauces are definitely where it's at and complement each dish exquisitely. I usually hoard all the sauces until the end of the meal. The chef made a special lobster dish with coconut curry, negi dare, cashew that was complementary. The green curry sauce that tasted like Thai tom kha with fresh herbs for a flavor explosion. The server recommended the warm banana cake with chicory, buckwheat, white coffee kahlua ice cream for my birthday dessert. Although I am not a fan of coffee, this dessert was amazing with the perfect balance of sweet and savory and great texture. Uchi manages to feel refined but still warm and inviting. It's a place I return to for celebrations, but also when I just want a meal that feels thoughtfully executed from start to finish.
