I love any spinach dip that includes sour cream and salsa! This is up there with some of my favorites when it comes to their dip! So so good! I also like their chicken wraps here yum! This is the perfect place to go do when you need a good meal at an affordable price. And I can't forget their croissants so tasty! read more

I love Cheddar's food. Love it. But the service SUCKS. ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. Had dinner here tonight. The server was slow, and she brought out the entrees first before the appetizer. WHO DOES THAT? I'm so livid... 1) she was slow 2) entrees brought out before appetizers 3) she told me my husbands food was gonna come out first before mine because she had to come back and ask me a question about my order. WTF. 4)our strawberry ice teas were refilled with regular. I wasn't even done with my first tea when she brought out the second and insisted on me giving her my first one when I told her I wasn't done with it. It was perfectly fine. 5) when I asked for to go boxes and tickets, she brought out our ticket and walked off without saying a word. 5) guess what... We get a survey that comes with the receipt and no itemized/top part of the receipt that has the info to fill out the survey with. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER. read more

We had a horrible experience! I organized a lunch for my mom and step-dad (their birthdays are close) and I picked this location near 635 @ MacArthur because it was central to all of the family members who were attending. It took an hour to be seated, then it took 20 minutes to get our drinks (and most of us ordered water) then it took another 40 minutes to start getting food out - then everyone was served except me. We arrived at 2 pm and by the time my Monte Cristo was ready it was 4:30 pm (yeah - two and half hours to get a sandwich) and everyone else was finishing their meals, so I had to get my sandwich in a to-go box and drive an hour back home to eat lunch at 5:30 pm. Needless to say, our family's birthday lunch was miserable and I paid over $40 to NOT eat lunch. On the other hand, if you're a Hindu looking for a great place to fast, FIVE STARS!! read more

Cheddar's is a great place if you like mundane food, over-dressed servers, and feeling like you're in a restaurant from 1995. With that said, the food isn't horrible. It's mostly "from scratch," generally fresh, and has a good taste. Especially when you throw in the prices! They're dirt cheap! The drinks aren't bad, but there's no consistency. I guess it depends on who's bartending that day or whatnot, but about 85% of the time, they're good. Keep in mind that if you complain/compliment online, they will NOT write you back... ever... they are not good at communication with their customers. The service has been good. The servers I've had have been very friendly, but... it's a casual cafe. The prices reflect that, the environment reflects that, but you come to my table with a dress shirt and tie? uh... what? That's not casual, buddy. Not a big deal, just odd. Oh, and the Monster Cookie = FREAKING AMAZING! All in all, I'd say Cheddar's is good if you're in the neighborhood. Nothing to drive out of your way for, but not a bad spot either. Just a few fine-tuning things. Give it a shot if you're close by. read more

I first came here in 2011 because I heard the food was good and cheap. The food was really good and really affordable. June 30, 2015- four years later I came back to cheddars because I remembered how good the food was. I had the steak with chicken tenders and it was the best chicken tenders ever. I like how it doesn't have those little crunchy things that are too hard to eat. I would come back here because the food is really good. They just made a closer one to my house so I will go to that one. read more

I was driving so I called in to place a Carry Out order before I arrived. I was on hold for 8 minutes. I was about 2 minutes away at that point so I thought 'just hang up and order it when you get there.' I came on my hour lunch break. Place was about 15 mins away. I got seated quickly but the food took forever. I got onion rings as an appetizer, thinking it'd come first, it didn't it showed up with my entree. I was literally stuffing food down my face & within 10 mins had to ask for the check & to go box. Food wasnt worth the wait & was not satisfying. The only thing this place has going is, it's a lot nicer looking than your average Chili's, Humperdinks, etc but I'd go to those places any-day, the food is better! I got Chicken Alfredo, only tasty thing was the chicken. Sauce was bland & little. Needed more parmesan. Onion rings were tasteless, I had to smother it in ketchup... Ughh never coming again. I have lived in the area for about 2 years now and I have only came here 2-3 times. Why you ask. Because anytime after 6pm on any given day it is packed inside. You can sit outside if you want, but the birds are noisy and I think the wait staff forgets about you when you sit out there. I came with a group of 10 or so people and we decided to sit outside due to all the people inside. A waitress seated us but didn't comeback for about 20-30min just to get our drinks. Then it had taken another 30min to have her take our food order. Yes the drinks are large but I don't think it was worth the service. I did like the baked potato soup. OH and remember... DON'T PARK UNDER THE TREES OUT FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT. BECAUSE YOUR CAR WILL HAVE BIRD CRAP ALL OVER IT WHEN YOU GET BACK TO YOUR CAR. I HAD TO WASH MY CAR 3 TIMES BEFORE ALL THE CRAP WAS OFF MY CAR. Peace Out, MZ read more

Keiry D. and I headed over last night with some girls from work after we were sadly disappointed that our plans for an evening filled with nekkid mens was cancelled. (no. seriously.) side note: Since when was it OK to charge $30 per person to see a male review? anyone? maybe not...... Ok-back to the lesson at hand. I'm just going to jump right into it and say Brian, you almost got served last night. I was so close to being one of those customers that I hate.....then he brought out my alcohol in the form of a strawberry margarita. I was OK then. Alright, so then you forget to bring a couple of items that we asked for, mainly, our butter croissants. Pissed again, but if it wasn't for Chas the manager coming over to make sure that we were OK in that sweet southern voice of his, then you would've been on the verge of getting backhanded. In my mind. SON!! (that was attitude) Then the fact that you put our tickets on our table 3.5 seconds after you put our food on the table WITHOUT offering dessert. Are you kidding me?? Really? Do you know my name? It Quida Dessert Margarita. And you didn't offer. This kid, and I mean 50 year old man, has some nerve. If it wasn't for the delicious Monte Cristo that I got. (I don't stray at Cheddar's, I stick with the basics) and the lovely company that I had, bc laughs were at an all time high last night, then Brian would have gotten a real strong talking to. Stoopit Brian. Go to Cheddar's only when your on a budget and with good company. The food isn't A-ama-Zing.....BUT....it's good when you only got about $20 to make it on. I guess the last 2 sentences could've been used to sum this whole review up huh? Eh...what's the fun in that:) Toodles kiddos!! read more

Lunch at 1pm on a Friday and the place was jammed. We had about a 10 minute wait. We shared the Triple Treat Sampler - 7.99 A combination of beef, bean and cheese nachos plus your choice of two others: loaded potato skins, crispy chicken tenders or mozzarella cheese sticks. We had the tenders and cheese sticks. The 'nachos' were the best. We got 4 -- but they were each 1/2 of a tortilla. The platter was served with marinara for the cheese and honey mustard for the chicken. No sour cream or salsa for the nachos. Our server did bring it when we requested it. The fried cheese was your basic frozen cheese sticks - nothing special - same with the chicken tenders -- a bit dry and waaaay too much breading. Server was attentive and friendly, but the place was noisy and she mumbled so we didn't know what she was saying most of the time. Probably won't try it again, especially since there is not one in my neighborhood. read more

After spending the last year searching out some of the best food in Dallas, Cheddar's wasn't even on my radar for places to try. I tend to avoid chain restaurants like the plague, and those "casual" dining spots rank lowest on the list. However, while stuck in Houston and desperate for a drink before a movie, we found our way to a nearby Cheddar's. That particular trip was unremarkable, as we only stayed for a few minutes, but while we were there we saw these amazing crispy shiny croissants that they seemed to serve everyone. So, upon returning to Dallas, we had to give the local Cheddar's a shot. We had a remarkably enjoyable time. Like Richard T., we found the service great. Our waitress was clearly high school aged, but she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was typical American fare, and while it was nothing jaw-dropping, it was good. And those croissants were great, they're coated with a honey-butter glaze that's dripping off them. The whole experience leads me to a bit of a existential crisis. After almost routinely dropping $100 for dinner, my wife and I found we can have a great time spending $25 for the two of us. And while not the best food in Dallas, I've certainly spent much more for food that was much worse. What's a guy to do? read more

The waiter was awesome and so nice and almost overly friendly. That was still good though, at least he was nice. I had a cheeseburger, it was good meat, lots of cheese but I felt like the bun was too big for the burger. And I don't know if it's a Texas thing, but the option was either fries with that, or rice and beans. Being in a mood to try something new I tried the rice and beans which were okay. Not bad. Affordable and convenient to my hotel. I am told that chain restaurants are the norm in Texas, so here we go with a new list: best chain restaurants in Dallas!!! read more

I love Cheddars! The price is so fair and the food portions are equivalent. I usually go for lunch and get the veggie plate, don't get start judging me, this consists of a soup or salad plus 4 sides. You read that right: FOUR sides!! The prices recently went up but for $6.49 that's an awesome deal! And the food is good! Why this only got 3 stars: The service. The server was awesome, he did what he could given the circumstances. He even told us the situation and checked on us frequently. Nick, it wasn't your fault!! The kitchen was backed up...the kitchen manager wasn't ready for the lunch crowd on a Monday I suppose? Although I can't even really say that as this location is ALWAYS busy during lunch time. The salads came out AFTER the main course...not the issue, had they given us our salads to much on first, we wouldn't have really noticed that our main course was taking a little extra long to come out. I will probably be back as Cheddars is one of our favs, but the kitchen needs to be prepared for the lunch rush, we have a lunch HOUR...we don't want to sit waiting on our food for 45 mins and not be able to sit and enjoy the food! read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - When I asked for help this jerk starts mouthing off to me. - American Near Me - Irving, Texas

It was good until I saw a shrimp tail in my broccoli rice casserole. I didn't order seafood. Explain this to me.

The food here is alright. We came here with a group of family to celebrate my moms birthday. We ordered bottles of wine, and after waiting almost 20 minutes for them to come, we asked for a manager. Lorraine, the manager, came over and argued with us about why it was taking so long, not being empathetic at all. All we wanted was a good time, have a few glasses of wine to celebrate my moms birthday and have good food. I don't care if the food is the best in the world, you have to have world class customer service to accompany that. That same evening, I experienced an allergic reaction to shrimp (which I'm not allergic too) because their cooks prepare their seafood on the same surface as their whitefish (which I am allergic to), and my wife had to fight the manager to comp my meal (I mean it's the least they could do after almost killing me, right?). These people show no empathy. We sent a complaint up to corporate, and requested a callback. We never heard back. If treating customers like this is the company norm, then we won't be returning to a single Cheddars ever again. read more

This review is dedicated solely to their signature 2 drink maximum Painkiller. This drink used to be a lot stronger than it is now. The server admitted that they no longer make them like they used to. I understand that it is probably a liability so I don't have a problem with the lack of kick. Now it's just too syrupy and sweet. I just think they should lift the limit of 2. This drink used to be a real panty dropper. But alas those days have come and gone as I no longer wear panties ;) #DontThreatenMeWithAgoodTime read more

I haven't been here in quite some time, but it is for a reason. The last two times that we have gone, the service has been less than subpar. The servers were incredibly rude, they did not care to even keep drinks on the table. Both times we have put in the effort to go up to cheddars, we were met with disappointing food, most of the time coming out either cold or overcooked. Only one time that we have gone there have we had a good experience. It was still slow service, but at least the food came out correctly. It has been sometime like I've said, so maybe they have fix on the issues that they had before. But I would definitely hesitate to go back again. read more

I had no plans for a Saturday night (the bane of my existence being a bachelor) and was out running errands and needed dinner. I had seen this place around and had no idea what kind of place it was. Well, on a Saturday night, apparently everyone around wants to go here, because it was completely packed. People waiting all around inside, and outside. Crazy busy inside. The only benefit to being on your own is you get to waltz past everyone and sit at the bar. I got a spot immediately and the over-worked waitress/bartender took care of me. The place inside is not bad looking - there's a giant aquarium behind the bar. Lots of dark-wood paneling. Your typical american restaurant. Even the menu is regular american food - shepherds pie, lots of chicken dishes, some pasta, couple steaks. The draft beer selection is pitiful, but everyone at the bar seemed to really be loving these giant margaritas or pina coladas or something. So I got a pina colada. Which I have never done ever before so I don't really know what drove me. But it was awesome - it had this sugared coconut on the rim - it's like desert. I got a steak, and it was good. Not great but it did the trick. Crazy-busy-loud. But I liked my dinner, left a big tip cause the poor bartender looked like she was at her wits' end. I'll probably go back - the menu was huge and it's a nice looking place. read more

They give you sooo much food, that I have to wonder to myself "is this necessary??" It's almost irresponsible the amount of food they give, and usually I really dig big portions because that means Lunch for tomorrow. I am specifically talking about the chicken fingers. There was a MOUNTAIN of chicken strips on my plate. And they were mediocre at best. The flavor was bland and they were dry. I got their red beans and rice as a side, and the sausage that was in there seemed very undercooked. The texture was not that of a well cooked meat. I would not recommend it. The famous honey butter croissants were very factory tasting and unimpressive. The food was cheap though, so I guess we got what we paid for. read more

I'm glad they could accommodate eleven people but after seeing two different servers taking orders and then only one delivering the drinks and food. Cheddar's... not sure what is going on at this location but it has changed over the 15+ years I have been coming here. Food is still good. Drinks are still good. Staff is hit or miss though. Sad, that the recent bad service is what is going to cause us to be selective on our seating and sever on the next go about. Now, I won't give up on this restaurant but I will have caution for selecting this location. (That is how rude some staff were in the past two visits) Chances are, if the rude staff is working, we will just get food to go and sit at a local park for our weekend lunch. Bless Karen, my server on December 13th. I have been very ill and find it hard to eat. I saw my doctor Friday afternoon and he insisted I eat something. I went to Cheddars around 5 p.m. and had Karen as my server. I ordered a bowl of soup and was hoping I could eat. It looked and tasted amazing, but I could only take in about ten spoonfuls. Karen was concerned about me and brought a hot cup of tea on the house and asked if I would drink it. What amazing kindness! I drank half the hot tea and then she brought me a to go cup. The tea bag was probably 50 cents, her kindness was worth millions. Thank you, Karen! read more
