During bike week finding somewhere to eat is very hard especially because everywhere has more than a 20 min wait. However at cheddars they said it was going to take about 15-20 mins for the wait so we weren't in no rush. We were in by like a good 10 mins. We got in there and the waitress helped us as soon as we sat down we got our food literally like less than 10 mins after ordering which was the fastest I have gotten my food anywhere. It was fresh it was great. Although my wrap was suppose to be a Buffalo chicken wrap... there didn't seem to be any Buffalo sauce at all but the chicken and everything was amazing so I didn't really care. I sat at a high top for 15 minutes without even an acknowledgement. Only 1 other couple eating at a high top and 3 people at the bar. I finally went up to the hostess station and asked how to get service. She told me there was no wait staff assigned to the high tops today. (Saturday at Noon). Even though several of the waitstaff and bartender walked around within arms reach. It's easy to tell that there is always something going on internally with the staff, which significantly affects the costumer service. Last night (Monday 12/30/2019) we waited 30 minutes for our appetizer (chips and queso) to come out. Another 30 or 40 for our entree. And another 20 for our dessert to go. First time ever at a Cheddars Scratch Kitchen. Went for an early lunch and sat right down and was waited on. Ordered the half rack of ribs and they really were tender and pulled apart easily. Ask for extra barbecue sauce because there's just not enough. I was disappointed that there was not any broccoli cheese casserole which was recommended by many people on Yelp. There also was no broccoli. I've never had southern style green beans that were so good! They were flat green beans that tasted like they were cooked all day in a southern kitchen. No crunchy raw beans at Cheddar's. So tasty! My husband got the chicken tender platter and there was a lot of very fresh hot crunchy chicken tenders. Definitely some sharing going on. We were both very happy with our lunches and wish that there were more of these restaurants around where we live. read more

This was my first visit to this location and I think probably my third visit ever to a Cheddar's restaurant, we grabbed a few seats at the bar to avoid the wait. I was looking for a lighter fare but after looking over the menu several times top to bottom it was apparent if one was looking to restrict their caloric intake here the choices would be fairly slim. I chose the Key West chicken and shrimp with a pineapple salsa over rice with a side of pole beans that they refer to as green beans. This entree was an extremely small portion, making my point that if you are looking for low cals you definitely will sacrifice volume. The grilled chicken and shrimp were just okay the glaze was a little strange and the rice was floating in liquid basically - I chose bad. The "green beans" were bland and cold and awful is being kind. We also ordered a salad with grilled chicken it was just okay as well if I had to choose between the two I'd take the later but it wasn't anything memorable. Husband and I had the worst meal ever. He ordered the Cajun Penne with sausage n shrimp. I originally ordered the chicken pot pie, but since they were out I ordered the bacon cheese burger cooked medium., and we each ordered a salad. About 10 minutes later my husband's penne came to the table. About 5 minutes after my cheeseburger arrived. My husband's meal had not one piece of shrimp in it. My hockey puck had half cooked bacon on top with a cold bun. The fries were half way decent but cold. And you ask how the salads were? Don't know never got them. I was there the first Sunday of Bike week, we sat at the bar and the bar tender was great I didn't catch his name. However, a woman who ran our food out with pink hair made a comment about my size and honestly it was extremely un called for as I don't know her. But she said "I was looking at you from the back and I didn't realize they made such big jackets, I guess they would have to for you". We love cheddars! They are our number 2 pick for a restaurant chain, however.... this location is the worst we have been to. We have gone to this location five times....5 times!!! And each time we have been completely disappointed... it's so sad to see such a good chain have such a poor location. Came here for first time after recommendation from peers. Food was not that great. As a matter of fact my order was messed up. The server seemed to have had a long shift. If you know me, you know I love pastries and sweets. I looked at the menu and decided to order the Monte Cristo. It was awesome, but overwhelming. It's cut in 4, I was only able to eat 2 pieces. Best most accurate description of what it is: a ham and Swiss or melted ham and cheese inside a funnel cake. Powder sugar and all. They do sell a lunch portion which is what I should have gotten. Long wait time for a party of 2, but where isn't nowadays! Greeted promptly by waiter AAron who was awesome! Great personality making us feel welcomed and talked to us like we were his friends! Croissants were amazing and the honey butter...yum, almost licked the plate. Ordered grilled chicken Alfredo and Buffalo chicken wrap. Alfredo was good and didn't have huge chunks of broccoli which I liked. Wrap was huge and tasted so good. Wrap itself was soft and chicken was perfectly sauced. CAN I GET AN AMEN?! Wow! This place is amazing from start to finish. The outside appearance is eye catching without being out of place for the coastal area of Daytona. We were greeted by smiling faces and had a nice seating area to wait for our table. The wait wasn't long and in the mean time we ooo'd and awweee'd at the decor. Fish tank is FANTASTIC! The crazy fan spinning not thing is gorgeous and I want one in my house...if my place was big enough. Out server DANTE was literally *used correctly* the BEST I'VE EVER HAD! (I'm sure he's heard that a time or two) His beverage and food recommendations were spot on! We devoured our appetizer and immediately dug into our main dishes. Located on International Speedway in Daytona Beach lies Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. I took a coworker here for lunch and we had a great time. Even though it was busy, our service was great. We were greeted and sat immediately. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and promised to get our out quickly. Total wait time was about 12 minutes. For lunch, that was great. My salad was freshly made and was brought out right away. My shrimp and chicken tenders were hot and tasted great. Surprisingly, the green beans were best item I had. Came for a Friday lunch (12:45pm) with 10 other people and it was packed. They don't take reservations and it was annoying that the only 2 large tables in the place were newly seated with patrons so our group had to split up. Less than a 30 min wait. I got the country fried steak and it came out nicely crispy and decent batter. The steak was placed on top of the texas toast which made them both slightly soggy at the interface from the steam. Toast was just bread, no garlic flavor or anything. Batter shell was about 2" too large on all sides for the meat inside and it took me a few cuts to find the meat. Gravy was delicious. Mashed potatoes were flavorful. Green beans were very average and I did not especially enjoy them. Waitress only came by twice during the meal and never refilled my empty water glass. Sat around waiting for her to come back so we could move on to the next thing. By the time we finished eating, the place had really emptied out. We were planning on ordering dessert but the waitress came by with checks without asking anyone if we wanted anything else, so we said to forget it. She offered to bring boxes but was off in her count by one since she never asked how many people wanted boxes. More waiting, waiting, waiting. I've driven by so many times and the name really made my mouth water. The interior is modern, beautiful, lots of wood. The dining experience didn't live up to expectations. Ate here for the first time tonight with my wife. She had a Monte Christo I had the steak & ribs. Her side was mac n cheese. I had a loaded bake potatoe and steamed broccoli. We had onion rings for an appetizer. The onion rings were really good, you can tell they are scratch made. We actually ended up with 2 orders as the first order was not right; they caught it not us. So my review is based off the take out service. Last week we ordered and had a great experience- today, not so much. I ordered a lunch combo (same thing as last week) buffalo chicken wrap with grilled chicken and a house salad ... last week my wrap was correct, and I was given ranch also- this week I got fried chicken and no ranch... however there was also no buffalo sauce. So I have fried chicken (which I don't eat) and a pickle slice and a dry tortilla. Had a chance to go into the chedders in Daytona from the outside the place looks inviting and a place you could have a good meal. Once inside it has a nice look to the restaurant almost like a England restaurant. Our waiter was very good and was at our table within minutes of being seated. But from there it went down hill. The moonshine chicken that was ordered was outstanding. But the ribeye steak was a night mare. The steak was over cooked 4 times at no time did a manager come out to greet us. I give this place a solid 4 stars since the food was actually pretty good for a chain, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was quite nice as well. Ok, I see some people complaining about service, but this is a new (and different) restaurant on the main strip in Daytona, so yeah, a LOT of people are going to go there when they first open, which was only a few weeks ago. They have a lot of staff running around, but I can see how perhaps some people didn't get the best service. Here's my experiences there so far. Been there twice, once with 2 coworkers, we sat at the bar because the main room looked crazy busy, service was prompt and food was good. Second time came with a large group from work during our lunch hour, service was still pretty good (except for a plate of croissants that got to the table late but was taken out of the check), and everyone was very happy with what they ate. If you live in Daytona you should know what to expect when a new place opens by the mall. In general, I'd say Cheddar's is way better than their neighbors at that location anyway. read more

I came in with expectations for this place to be like a BJs or something along those lines. The decor is modern and very inviting and the wait wasn't too long on a weekend afternoon (20min or so). The menu is huge with any American new option that you can think of. We were craving burgers so we got the regular burger with sautéed mushrooms and the bacon cheeseburger along with onion rings to start. The onion rings were actually really good - not overly batterer, crispy and thin. The burgers were a huge disappointment. We ordered them medium and they came out really well done that it was so dry it was hard to swallow. The mushrooms weren't sliced and sautéed but came on the side as whole so there was as no way those were going to stay in the burger, they were also really wet and not cooked enough. I have never been to cheddars but while in Daytona my boyfriend and I decided to stop by, especially since we had a gift card. For a chain restaurant the exterior and interior is nice, as my boyfriend puts: fancy. The drinks are reasonably priced my boyfriend had the spiked cherry limeade $6.99 and I had the Island Tiki $7.29. The drinks were pretty big, I personally did not get a buzz. When we were seated we were immediately met by our waiter whom had 2 buttered croissants. They were warm, fresh, and deliciously. For our entree I had the grilled salmon with Mac & Cheese and steamed broccoli. My boyfriend had the half rack of ribs and tenders with a loaded bake potato and broccoli cheese casserole. The broccoli cheese casserole was forgotten when the entree was brought but was brought immediately when my boyfriend mentioned the side was missing. The tender batter was perfect, the ribs were tender and the meat fell right off the bone. My salmon was grilled to perfection. I really really enjoyed the food. Service was okay. Three stars for a "from scratch" kitchen that serves practically soupy rice under a glazed salmon - YUCK! I ordered the Citrus Miso glazed Salmon served over a bed of rice. Glaze rice soup is an UNDERSTATEMENT. They poured so much glaze, it was like eating a seafood in broth. Sooooo gross! I have been to the Cheddar's in Orlando and had a much better experience. The service was really not good. I don't know if they didn't have enough waiters or what the problem was but it was not good. The fillet was supposed to be medium well and it came very rare but they did compensate us for that. The painkiller drinks are fabulous. read more
