They recommended their chicken tenders, which were ok, but were fried like Long John's batter and was even turned down by my kids as being "too sweet" after a while. Their honey butter croissant was like a pastry! It was delicious! Our waitress was on point though, she always brought refills before we even had to ask, and cleaned our dishes away always making more room. We got to sit under this really awesome fan. The atmosphere and decor was great. The place was packed, which means it must be good. I wasn't dissatisfied, but I also wasn't blown away. Waited 40 minutes to be seated when there's plenty of seats. We came for ribs and was told 30 mins after being seated that they run out of ribs. Another 15 minutes the waiter came out and said, we're also out of baked potatoes. The soup was very salty and the tables smelled like wet rag. Good food, generally love this restaurant chain, but don't come to this one. We were seated and immediately placed our order. Our appetizer of chips was quickly brought out, but then we didn't see our waiter again for nearly 25 minutes. No drink refills, no chip refills, no salads, no rolls. After 25 min a lady brought our food out and we still had not received our salads, not one drink refill, and still hadn't seen our waiter. When he came out, we asked about the silverware, and the salads, and he started complaining about the cook and specifically said: "it's not my fault, all I do is take orders and refill drinks." (He literally said that while all of our drinks were empty ) Anyway, we asked for the manager and she apologized and offered us a dessert for the trouble. We eventually got our food, but it was on our table for 5 minutes before we ever received the utensils, and we never got a roll. Not one. Sad experience. read more

This was my first time at Cheddars! I had never heard of it before- I am originally from CT but live in SC and we do not have this chain in either place. The atmosphere is very inviting, clean and casual. The menu has a great selection with many different options. I got the salmon over rice (lunch special) and it was less than $10, it came with two sides. My boyfriend really liked his peach iced tea and my strawberry lemonade was good, although, strong (acidity) and needed to be watered down. The service was good and our waitress was helpful explaining the menu. I feel the menu items were priced fairly. They had a drink I really wanted to try but unfortunately I wasn't feeling well at the time, so I didn't get it (pictured below). The worst service I have ever experienced! Well the first time I have experienced no service at all. If I could give negative starts I would. We came in today for lunch. We arrived at 11:45 am. The young lady that sat us was not friendly. She brought us some rolls and as she walked off told us someone would be by. 20 minutes later after no one ever came to our table we walked out and was told some type of dismissive see you later by a girl standing talking to the hostess. Usually a great chain to visit. I always order the lunch portion fish. They no longer serve catfish, but a white imported fish from Vietnam. It's just okay . First thing, this is a great spot with usually great service. But since our first time here when Justin was our server, my boyfriend and I have had lackluster service. This particular time though, was the worst. Miss Eden thought best to have an attitude and very loudly commented about my table and how "She doesn't have time for that, she's busy" because she let almost 20 minutes go by without coming back to take our order when we weren't ready the first time. So I asked the server Tim who took our drink order that we hadn't ordered and he took the initiative to take our order. Needless to say, Tim was the only one who got a tip tonight. My wife and I have wanted to come in but the lines always looked very long. We walked over after being at the mall and since there was no line went in. Very nice atmosphere with a large central dining area with large ceiling fan system. Bar to the left with very large fish tank separating the dining area from the bar. Then there are areas to the sides that become more intimate and have a different décor. My wife and I were greeted and seated immediately. Out server came over very quickly to take our drink order and give us the specials of the day. We had the potato skins for our free appetizer (coupon) and then Mahi for our meal. The food was all well prepared and tasty. The manager came over to check on things and when we said why we had not stopped in yet she said that there is often large groups that will wait outside but that small parties can usually be seated quickly as the groups wait for the center area. They gave us some of there homemade chocolate chip cookies free for our first visit that my wife loved. We will be back. read more

I have been to Cheddar's a handful of times before this night and I always enjoyed the food but this night the service was something to comment about. We walked in at 10:30 and that was 30 mins before they closed. We sat at the bar where we were greeted by Ashely P who made it comfortable for us to be here right before closing. She also was very pleasant by smiling the entire time we were there.Ashley definitely impressed me when she kept my water fresh and full...love that! Food was also good and quick. Would of preferred my shrimp on the New Orleans pasta had the tails cut off but no biggie. Will be back again. Thanks for the making me enjoy my experience after a late night workout! read more

If you want greasy food, this is the place to go! While they do have really good prices and very big portions, the food itself is so rich and hearty, that it may turn off some people. I had their version of the Monte Cristo, which I might add was deep fried. If you like this kind of meal though, this would work for you! Service was really good though, I have to admit, definitely had a bit of a southern hospitality feel. I'm not one to leave a bad review and usually I'm one to dispute other bad ones but either our sever was just stoned or it was just his first day on the job but he definitely wasn't a experienced one and I almost think their just hiring anyone they can off the street to find help . You know It is nice being greeted buy a manager when we walked thru the door but I think he really needs to not worry more about greeting customers as they come in and start worrying about how the quality of service and food is in his restaurant is . I could go on about what went wrong but it might just of been a bad day for them , but i don't really know it wasn't that packed for a Friday night and we did get seated right away so it could be just a norm for them . I went here with my sister and my daughter a few months ago. I got the Buffalo chicken tender wrap. It was absolutely delicious even after having it as leftovers the next day. The broccoli casserole I absolutely recommend it is the bomb! My daughter got a chicken pot pie. I was not expecting what I saw. Not only was it huge but it was obviously homemade and it was delicious. Therefore I highly recommend broccoli casserole, chicken pot pie and the Buffalo chicken wrap with ranch.. The only reason why I dropped a star was because my sister had previously had a bad experience ordering it to go. My experience sitting in the restaurant however, was a five-star experience. read more

Don't come here if you're hungry and ready to eat. Restaurant is terribly understaffed lots and lots of empty booze and tables but we couldn't get a seat. Well, if it wasn't for the nice interior, this place would have gotten one lonely star. With that being said, I'll start out with the staff. I called in my order of two meals and waited at the bar to pick it up. The bartender was nice at first, but when he began to give me my boxes of food, he became immature and unprofessional. Everything was broken down into many boxes, which is great because it kept the cold food separate from the hot food. I had to ask him for a bag to put the boxes in. Doesn't sound like a bad thing but most restaurants have it out and ready to help bag everything. Then, a couple of drunk women were poking fun at me because of the amount (or what it looked like) of food I had. Instead of ignoring the women and being professional, this bartender decided to join in the fun. So then, I was being bullied by not only two women but a "professional" as well. The women were asking if i was going to eat it all, yada yada...the bartender says, "Is it enough food? It looks like you went grocery shopping!" I felt humiliated and will NEVER set foot in there again. Also, I was struggling with my bags, trying to get a handle on all of them, and looked up to see two managers watching me, chit chatting, and not offering to help. The least they could do was ask if I needed help to my car or come over and hand me some bags. Honestly, I'm not a spoiled brat like this sounds- I had three bags and a purse that kept falling off of my shoulder. Add that to the big and small boxes of food and condiments that I was trying to keep upright in the bags. As for the food... I ordered the honey dijon chicken with broccoli and rice casserole and green beans. It was okay. The sides were better than the chicken. The chicken tasted like it was boiled, then someone slathered honey mustard onto it. It was something I definitely could have made at home I.e. not worth going out to get. read more

I had never been to a Cheddar's before, but will definitely go again. I will actually search for one when traveling. I had the half Monte Cristo and loaded potato soup. The sandwich was awesome and came with the raspberry sauce to dip. The soup was great and I am particular and compare it to the soup at Fatz. We also got the onion rings as an appetizer and it was piled a foot high on the plate. Rings were actually battered and fried and were awesome as well. Other order was a burger and it was cooked perfectly with just right spices and a very good quality patty. Beer on tap and full bar. Best part is they are very reasonably priced. It's a great deal. MMMmmmmm Boring! The Good: The restaurant is really nice, it's got a HUGE fish tank behind the bar and the brickwork everywhere is really rustic and pretty to look at. For an appetizer we got the queso dip which was a good queso and the chips were made on site which was a BIG PLUS! The TOP Sirloin Steak was also a nice cut of steak and well prepared (I had it with the mashed potatoes (the potatoes were tasty-but nothing special) and Broccoli casserole (also decent-made with rice). I have definitely had comparable steaks elsewhere but I'd be happy having it again if we were meeting friends. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Cheddar's when there's so many new and great spots around. Nothing on the menu stood out as unique. The NOT so Good: The service was slow (not that friendly) and our food took FOREVER! The MIS-LABELED side: "Loaded potato" ONLY had sour cream and shredded cheese (which wasn't completely melted) which means the potato A. wasn't that hot and B. wasn't "Loaded" (Chives, Bacon?? maybe even butter) . At least add some Chives! And heat up the potato a little more! We also tried the Dijon Chicken (It was the chicken with Mustard sauce) and it was in a bed of mushrooms. It was very basic and nothing to write home about. I want my food to scream orgasmic when I go out to eat--ESPECIALLY if it's going to be on a SATURDAY NIGHT at 7pm on International Drive after waiting 30 minutes just to get a table and another 45 for our FOOD!!!!! I have been to Cheddar's before in Sanford, and would much quicker recommend that location over this one. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites as an appetizer, they were room temperature and most of the cheese seemed to have melted out of the shells, resulting in empty bits of salty breading. There was maybe one or two full bites of cheese. My table and I ordered the Country fried steak, the chicken tender with shrimp combo and the salmon on rice. The salmon on rice was very good! As for the country fried steak, the Texas toast was thin and sitting under the steak, becoming soggy. The bread didn't taste of garlic or even butter. The steak was incredibly greasy. Is this normal for Daytona? Could be that this is a tourist area and substandard food is acceptable for that reason? The chicken and shrimp was alright, the only problems were the sides, fries and Mac and cheese. The fries tasted old, and the mac and cheese, which had iconically been baked and topped with breadcrumbs, was just mac and cheese. Nothing special like we were used to. The waiter seemed to ignore our empty cups. He'd bring refills like normal, but our empty cups simply stayed on the table. read more

I have eaten at Cheddar's before and even had the blackened salmon dish, but this one was the most bland and overcooked salmon I have had in a long time. The broccoli was boiled/steamed way too much, really the green beans were the only decent thing on the entree plate. If you order something blackened I think you should be able to taste spices, maybe they should be approaching an "intense" level - this salmon tasted like salt and pepper hadn't been applied. The one highlight was the Key Lime Pie dessert "shot" - only $1.49, very tasty. read more

The decor is very nice. Large fish take is a nice touch. The hostess was not personable at all. My server was not as attentive with my drink which she never refilled. They seem to hire college age personnel. The food was comparable to cafeteria style good. I ordered a white fish with Broccoli casserole and red beans and rice. There was rice in the casserole, under the fish, and of course in the red beans and rice. The onion rings were good. You could taste shrimp because they were fried in the same oil. I ordered bread pudding for desert. It was made with a croissant. It was nothing spectacular. read more
