I have been to Cheddar's before in Sanford, and would much quicker recommend that location over this one. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites as an appetizer, they were room temperature and most of the cheese seemed to have melted out of the shells, resulting in empty bits of salty breading. There was maybe one or two full bites of cheese. My table and I ordered the Country fried steak, the chicken tender with shrimp combo and the salmon on rice. The salmon on rice was very good! As for the country fried steak, the Texas toast was thin and sitting under the steak, becoming soggy. The bread didn't taste of garlic or even butter. The steak was incredibly greasy. Is this normal for Daytona? Could be that this is a tourist area and substandard food is acceptable for that reason? The chicken and shrimp was alright, the only problems were the sides, fries and Mac and cheese. The fries tasted old, and the mac and cheese, which had iconically been baked and topped with breadcrumbs, was just mac and cheese. Nothing special like we were used to. The waiter seemed to ignore our empty cups. He'd bring refills like normal, but our empty cups simply stayed on the table. read more

NEVER had bad food at Cheddars ever! I've been to several locations from Iowa to Missouri and now in Florida, and this location in Daytona is no exception. Delicious food once again! I've had a variety of different meals each time. My go-to is usually the crispy chicken salad with the amazing honey mustard dressing. This time I had the citrus miso salmon, and it did not disappoint. Perfect! No complaints about the service either. Our server was friendly and attentive. When our food was brought out, they forgot a side salad. We simply pointed it out and it was brought out right away. Will definitely return to Cheddars no matter where I am. read more

I almost never write reviews, but I'll make an exception for this place. Seeing the stars on this place, I wasn't sure if I wanted to dine here with my family. But there were a lot of people and that's usually a family requirement for my parents. After waiting for a table, which wasn't really long considering the amount of people. We were seated at a booth and I have to say the place is beautifully designed with plenty of space. Overall the meal was delicious from the honey butter croissants to the potato soap to the entrees with steak and shrimp. The meals were large enough to share among a Hispanic family. Great pricing! Most of our food was excellent -- especially the gargantuan helping of handmade crispy onion rings, the awesome monte christo sandwich and a great burger! Accompanied by shaker margaritas, it was a great meal made even better by our server, Emily. Two items could use some improvement. Red beans and rice are way too sweet, way too hot and oddly flavored. I lived in New Orleans for 12 years and I can tell you these are nothing like the real mccoy. Also, the "loaded baked potato" didn't seem very loaded. Melted cheese on top, nothing visible inside although it tasted pretty good. One thing we really loved is the $1.49 desserts served in a small glass. We both chose the chocolate trifle and they were delicious -- just the right size to top off a filling meal. This was my second visit to Cheddar's and just as bad as the first on in Dallas, Texas back in 2001. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and it did take a little while to come out, not even that long actually maybe 15 minutes? But I work in the restaurant industry so I completely understand things happen, there could have been a mix up no big deal. It felt like your typical no-one-knows-what-they-want restaurant option. Where the menu is generic salads and grilled chicken, etc. Nothing wrong with that, just not very exciting. My issue was with what I ordered. I got the white fish blackened with rice, baked potato, and broccoli. While the sides were good, the fish was literally the consistency of rubber. This place is great. It's like upscale comfort food. I had the New Orleans pasta and it was delicious!! Shrimp, chicken and sausage over penne with a spicy sauce. Large portion with a side of garlic bread for just over $10. My boyfriend had the half rack with chicken tenders, Mac n cheese and fries. He ordered two large liquor drinks and I had water. And we split the queso appetizer. The bill was about $45. Considering how strong the drinks were, I think that's pretty good. The ambiance is nice and chill. We were starving on the way back from Disney so we stopped off in Daytona. We found Cheddar's, which I hadn't heard of until I read somewhere that we would be getting one in Jacksonville (my hometown) so I decided to get ahead of the game and go ahead and try it. We came in about 5:30 and were sat right away. Linda was our server and she was super nice and helpful. She was also very familiar with the menu, which I love. We ordered the spinach dip, which was super creamy and had a little kick to it. I do wish we were given more chips though. We also ordered margaritas and long islands, both inexpensive and tasty.
