Cheddars in Daytona Beach was fabulous. Our server Kenny went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. The food was absolutely delicious. There were four of us. He was one of the most personable waiters we have ever had. He made sure that we were happy and content with our meals. First time here we were next door and decided to stop for a late lunch , I loved the BEAUTIFUL building inside and out . It had the looks of a high class restaurant, Nice double door entrance love the decor inside with high ceilings in the middle of the dinning area with this rotating fan with long arms . The menu was of average size with various options some popular like the monte cristo to choose . They sat us down I noticed right away they had these fancy electronic paying machines at the tables . Service was prompt and attentive. I ordered the chicken tender with 1/2 slab of BBQ ribs , I substituted the fries for a house salad . My wife ordered the blackened salmon with green beans , and for the other side she ordered a Ceasar salad. When my plater came I noticed that my had a dark black charred with a heavy sweet glaze on them , they were tender though it wasn't to bad after all . HONEY BUTTER CROISSANTS ARE AMAZING !! HOWEVER, we were not pleased with the rest of our food. ***Ribs were over cooked and tough; Alfredo pasta had no flavor since the "sauce" was practically all water. We got charged for the extra Alfredo sauce.. even thought after adding it, still lacked in flavor and the shrimp had a weird bitterness to it.. honestly the worst Alfredo pasta I ever had (I had better from a bar). *** Service was okay, they forgot to give us utensils when we got our food and we couldn't catch her in time, so after failed attempts to get her attention and her disappearing in the back we had to ask a guy busting the tables for utensils. At the end of my last review, a 2nd manager named Heather gave me her card and told me to call up and ask for her if I decided to give this location another chance. About 3 months ago and tonight, I've decided to try it again and so far it has been a total 180. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was good. It seems like this Cheddar's has actually tried hard to earn customers back as this visit the dining room was fairly full. Only reason I am leaving one star off is in case it's a fluke as my last visit I informed Heather I was coming but this visit I said nothing. My server was Yashar and he was excellent. Nice location in the heat of Daytona at the mall. Plenty of parking with plenty of good seating, mainly booths and some tables. There is a full bar to get your drink on with a nice casual atmosphere. Menu has plenty options and the croissants are to die for. But on this night it took 45 minutes to get a table and another almost 20 to get drinks. Waitress was struggling poor thing. Tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. No bread appetizers to start but they did bring them fresh out of the oven. No plates or silverware so we will have to start with our hands. The croissants are so good it almost makes up for the Tim it's taken to get to this point. They made up for it as the taste of the food and hospitality were on point. Want to lunch at cheddars in Daytona across the street from the racetrack, sat down, surfaces wonderful from a bartender named Jenn, but unfortunately, the food that I ordered was delayed because they served similar meals to other people that came in after me and I had to wait while the rest of my party had their lunch. The manager, Jason, came out apologized that there should not have occurred, but it did, and as a measure of fantastic customer service he comped our lunch, couldn't come or cocktails, but our lunch. All of it.! That's customer service. He said you should all eat together, and I apologize and he took everything off the bill. This restaurant has the worse staff and GM. I was billed 2x for a T-bone steak, when they served the dish the waisteess dropped the plate on the floor. My friends Alfred pasta was cold and she ordered a salad which came after the entree. They were supposed to comp the steaks per the Chef and Manager and it's been 3 days and still no email that they said would advise us of the credit . I never knew you could add sugar to EVERY savory item in a dinner order! Got the country fried chicken on the "Comfort Foods" section of the menu. Pictures looked good, so thought I'd try it. A fried chicken breast on a piece of Texas toast with sides of mashed potatoes and southern green beans. Right away the sweet taste in the gravy hit my tongue. The chicken breast itself was moist and had a pleasant coating, but was bland. Tried the green beans expecting an earthier, possibly meaty/smoky taste. Nope! Sweet green beans! OK, lets try the toast... should be buttery or garlicky. Sweet again! The potatoes, being covered with gravy, were unimpressive. I am not off on my tastes. I cook for a hobby and know my flavors. This whole meal was a major disappointment and left my stomach a bit upset afterward. Never, NEVER will I voluntarily eat at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen again. read more

What a disappointment. Really. When I want perfectly prepared baby back ribs, I go to Cheddars Daytona Beach. They are always meaty and tender. Because I enjoy eating them at home, invariably, I get my meals "to go." As it was New Year's Eve 2022, I thought my wife and I should splurge and get two desserts as well. We chose what we've gotten in the past because it was so decadent and delicious. Specifically, "Hot Fudge Cake Sundae." It really pains me to say how disappointed I am with my New Year's meal considering Cheddars is my go to place for terrific food. The ribs were partially charred, rendering about 35% of the rib meat hard and dry, and inedible. The two honey butter croissants that were promised were a "No - Show. The desserts were impossible to like. The chocolate fudge cake may have been fresh and moist on Christmas Day, but this was New Year's Eve, and it was stale and dry. The homemade hot fudge was missing, but it wouldn't have the wife and I singing praises anyway. It was a disaster. Whether it's a permanent disaster, I won't know until I go back again. Yum yum yum! I'm not from the area, and we stopped here on vacation because the bf had a gift card to multiple restaurants and this was one of the options. The onion rings are amazing, crunchy but not greasy, the chicken and shrimp entree was delicious and huge, sides plentiful and yummy, and their chicken tenders are pretty freaking tasty. I've never been to Cheddars, not had my neighbor. We went Sunday morning. The place is lovely; nicely decorated and easy to navigate for a disabled person like me. Our server was Josh. I have been to more restaurants than I can count all over the country and Josh is in the top 10. He's attentive, offers suggestions on the menu, answers all of our questions and checked in with often. For the food, my neighbor ordered shrimp and the most amazing cup of potato soup I've ever seen. I ordered a small steak, broccoli casserole and rice. The steak was not med rare as ordered but almost blue throughout and the texture was odd. The broccoli casserole tasted nice but was barely warm. I liked the rice. The manager stopped by to welcome us but I didn't want to complain about anything, she was very nice, I didn't want to mess up her day. Josh and the manager are the reason for the stars. I was eating here the first time. The appetizers and the food was good. No complaint at all! But the server was not that great, she took orders and never check on the table again. I ordered two appetizer but the waitress just set down the dish and turned away without giving us the plate. My son said he could eat it on his napkin and of course I said no. So I walked up to the other server for the plate and I know it's not her job for our table. The chair by the booth was sticky when I sat. Well I can take shower when I got home right. Well you talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear! This is the place. One of the FEW dining establishments on International Speedway with cloth napkins. That was the first good sign. The second good sign was Anya. A beautiful Nubian Princess of a waitress who was knowledgeable and friendly. Her only drawback was leaving dirty dishes on the table while we ate entrees. And that ain't no big deal because the busser came by and swooped them up. (after I asked) I am BIG on table appearance. Spinach Dip Appetizer with in-house Salsa was really good. The side Caesar dressing was cold and delicious. I opted for the Meatloaf and I don't know how they did it but it was charred (burned on the edges) PERFECTLY. The red bean's and rice side was yummy. My dates Chicken Pot Pie was full of white meat chicken, hot and flavorful. No room for dessert though. Maybe next time. The manager, Jared stopped by the table a couple of times to check on things. It was 3:30 PM and hardly any customers so I don't know what took so long. We walked in and there was a couple waiting to be seated. Everyone seemed to not see there was 6 of us total waiting to be seated. Finally a young man came up and without even an apology to anyone for their wait seated them then us. He said our servers name and that she would be right with us shortly. Ten or so minutes later she came and asked us what we wanted to drink. Another 7 minutes here comes 3 of 4 drinks and she had to wait for the 4th one. Finally 7 minutes later we all have drinks and gave our order. 1 Chicken tender with 2 sides, 1 rare steak with 2 sides, and 2 Bacon Cheese burgers with fries medium rare. Don't understand the hate for this place. We live in Port Orange and eat here at least once a month. They've had staff shortages like everyone else and sometimes you have to wait for a table, but the food has been consistently good and the service friendly. This was my first time to Cheddars, and I made the mistake of coming really hungry. The first sign of our mistake was the forever busy phone line. The second the full waiting area. Third, the 20-25 minute wait for two people. But my boyfriend convinced me it was worth it, so we stayed. Our table was ready, after about 25 minutes, and after we awkwardly stood by someone's table for too long waiting for a seat and then took a seat as an older lady tried waving someone else over as we sat down so it felt like an eternity. We ordered our drinks and they took quite a while to come out since the bar was busy. Our server apologized numerous times for the wait saying the whole restaurant was at a standstill. He came back about ten minutes later and we placed our order and waited. And waited some more. Approximately 45 minutes later, our food arrived and the hangry side of me had already kicked in. Our nachos finally made it to the table after all of that time and shortly after the rest of our meal arrived. The food was delicious, which at this point was the redemption of the night. The server had the manager comp our nachos, since it was a ridiculous amount of time for them to come out, and we didn't complain to him because he was being so polite our entire experience. Wish they had free cheddar biscuits or something to hold us over until the food comes out, but they did seem to be busy enough without the added demand for such a request. read more

Honestly I wish I had seen the reviews for this Cheddar's before we went there for dinner. The wait was quoted as 15-20 but it was over 30 minutes. Our server Ashley, was really great, but the food was very disappointing. Appetizers of chips, queso and onion rings and croissants were on point, but my lighter fare dinner of hot and sweet chicken and shrimp was a salt mine and one of my shrimp wasn't deveined. That kind of ended the meal for me. My salad was falling off the sides of the plate and had the wrong dressing. Some of the lettuce was rotting and the carrots were dry and tasted old. I also tried a bite of my daughter's buffalo wraps and was surprised it was soggy and the chicken wasn't properly seasoned. Not sure we will be back to this particular Cheddar's. During bike week finding somewhere to eat is very hard especially because everywhere has more than a 20 min wait. However at cheddars they said it was going to take about 15-20 mins for the wait so we weren't in no rush. We were in by like a good 10 mins. We got in there and the waitress helped us as soon as we sat down we got our food literally like less than 10 mins after ordering which was the fastest I have gotten my food anywhere. It was fresh it was great. Although my wrap was suppose to be a Buffalo chicken wrap... there didn't seem to be any Buffalo sauce at all but the chicken and everything was amazing so I didn't really care.
