I was truly excited to have a new restaurant in my area, and I was promptly disappointed...extremely disappointed. We dined at Cheddars during their first or second week of business, which they were not prepared for at all. When we first were seated, we had requested a high chair, in which we had to request yet again and was brought 10 minutes later. Not the end of the world, but an inconvenience when you have a 1.5yr old. Anyways, we started off with the queso dip, which was luke warm, so it didn't have a good consistency. I still ate it though cause I'm a sucker for cheese, however, I soon ran out of chips. The chips that came with the dish barely allowed my wife and I to go through half of the queso. We requested more chips and they didn't come until half way through our dinner! My salad that I requested to come prior to the meal also never came. The server said she was going to take it off of our bill, which of course didn't happen until I pointed it out. Our entrees were average, nothing to write home about, but not awful. I'd probably give our entrees a 5/10. Oh, and drinks were not refilled until our meals were finished. I was pretty upset about the service and quality of food, so I wrote a letter to them since their online comment form was not working. I had worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 10 years, so I wasn't looking for a handout, more of an apology, which never came. If anyone takes time out of their day to write you a letter, positive or negative, at least acknowledge it. Nonetheless, I find it difficult to justify spending $50 on a night with my family to be treated this way, and consequently, will never dine there again. This place used to be a favorite of ours, but lately I've been less than impressed with the service. The kitchen is great, but the servers take away from that. I've been 3 times in the past few months and each time the waiters/waitresses have been awful. They don't do anything to accommodate for their poor service either. No refills the whole time, dinner brought before salads, and then not brought at all. Orders taken completely wrong, and then they look at you like you're the one who's wrong! After finally getting the order right, the food comes out and the rest of the party is done and full. So that person is supposed to eat alone while everyone else watches and waits? No comp was given. Each time we would go home and write a complaint to corporate. They have never contacted me about the problems. My mom has been in the restaurant business for many years, and a corporate that doesn't do anything to acknowledge the customer is unheard of! Completely unprofessional, and not concerned with you and your experience. They're more about quantity, not quality of your night out. In this economy, restaurants need to be working hard to keep the people that come happy, so that they return. I will not be returning, solely b/c of the horrible service and neglect of my hard earned money. I will be telling all I know to not go because of these reasons. We went here for the first time on a Friday night. We waited 15 minutes or so once seated for our server which didn't bother us too much since they were busy. The server came and took our drink and appetizer order then and came back about 5-10 minutes later to take our entree order if we were ready. Everything was fine up to this point. They dropped our appetizer in the kitchen so they had to remake it. By the time our appetizer got to our table, we had already started our entrees. Our entrees were missing items and my steak was only cooked to medium well when I requested very well done. The steak is not a huge deal to most people, but it was not what I requested and I'm pretty picky about meat. The server apologized for all of the issues, but I don't think we will be back when they are busy again. It was honestly a bit of a hassle for us. read more

We eat here about once a month mainly due to the location. We use to live less than 10 min away now it's a 30 min drive there and back which I will gladly take every time. We order out and every time our food has been right and stays warm by the time I get home. The server behind the bar does a great job on attending on me even during a packed house like yesterday ( Saturday night). We are a family of 3 and we pay under $30. We have eaten in at times and the service has been great as well. read more

We have dined at Cheddars twice now. The first time I got the chicken friend steak, green beans, and mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed the meal except for the green beans, they were overly sweet. My boyfriend probably didn't even eat half of his meal because he said it was horrible. I believe he tried the shrimp. Our service was fine and the tab was pretty cheap. We decided to give it another try about a week ago. This time our service was sub par. He was just really weird. I asked for a burger and a salad. He stopped and looked at me and made the comment "what are you on a diet or something". A-no. B-how is this any of his business. C-why would you ask that? My burger was good and so was the salad. I cant remember what my boyfriend got but I do remember him saying he was not impressed and he didn't want to come back. We did order onion rings and they were not good. The batter had to flavor. The best restaurant in the Aurora area. Cheap prices and lots of food! Favorites are the Chicken Pot Pie and the Ceasar Salad.

I met my family here for lunch and I watched them eat. I cannot eat things that are heavly fried or cooked in heavy sauces and that pretty much took up their entire menu. Seriously there was nothing on the entire menu that appealed to me because they did not even have decent salad dressings. Really not okay! Have been here on multiple occasions. Honestly can say I have yet to be disappointed. I have tried quite a few different menu items an all have passed with flying colors. Also, the bartenders there are typically quick when you have to wait for a table. Expect to wait 10-20 minutes on a normal night as the place is popular and therefore fairly busy. read more

This was my first visit to Cheddars and I will probably go back, but not for awhile. The Good: Prices, Service The okay: Food The bad: Interesting mystery substance in my cocktail? We came in with a 30-35 minute wait, and it being 6 PM on a Saturday, that was expected and wasn't a big deal. We were seated within that window and our waitress was very attentive and quick to get our items out. The prices were amazingly low and I was pleased to see how much food we got for the price. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was okay enough, the broccoli could have been seasoned better and the gravy they used was very salty. After about ten bites my stomach started to disagree so I wasn't able to finish. My boyfriend had ordered one of their menu cocktails (Landslide - kind of like a Mudslide but with more crap in it lol). It was delicious, but as he was finishing it, he started pulling what looked like paper out of his mouth. I took a sip and I got the same thing, it felt like paper on your tongue, didn't have a taste, but when touched had an elasticity to it like plastic. We brought it to our waitresses attention and she grabbed a manager who told us it was coconut, and they use it in some of our drinks and she walked off. That led us to think, well it's not supposed to be in this drink, was this glass washed? Did the bartender think he was making something else? She came back about five minutes later and credited us the drink. I will go back, but not for a while and I think I'll order something different. If we decide to get a cocktail I think I'll stick to my Cosmopolitan, at least I can see through that if any..."coconut"...decides to make its way into my drink. read more

The food is about average, but the service is quite slow. Problems with food are quite quick to be solved, but 20 minutes for chips and salsa is a bit long. Bar staff needs to interact more with the guests, rather than act as order takers. The food is all decent but their menu is filled with heavy, cheesy, saucy options that will leave you feeling like you just consumed a bowling ball. The interior is nicely done but pretty dark, in a fruitless attempt at being swanky. I've had a couple of servers that had the strangest hair and/or tattoos and for as open minded as I am, it was still off-putting. Not my first time eating here but definitely the worst. I will think serious about eating here again. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Alfredo. My chicken was specked with burnt spots, the sauce tasted bland like it had been reheated, and my garlic toast was charred on one side and turned over so it looked nice when it was put in front of me. The server let my drink run dry during the middle of the meal and never refilled it. My friend asked for a lemon with her drink at the beginning of the meal and it was never brought. The highlight was when bartender ASHLEY was too inconvenienced with us to guide us thru the menu and then flung a side of peanuts at my mom and walked away after she corrected her on the menu. My family went to chedders for my first time from a recommendation. My experience was this. I was seated in a reasonable amount of time. We had a chance to see a menu and decided what to eat prior to being seated. My waitress was not friendly at all. Barely talked with us, never smiled once. We thought we were easy customers since we didn't hesitate ordering. The food was very good. But she didn't check on us during our meal Our water glasses were never refilled. It took longer to get our check than it did to be seated. You have to pay your server there. I tried to pay at the desk because I was dying to leave and I couldn't. I had to wait. Do not go here!!!!!!!!!! Ribs are burned and over peppered, their little trio appetizer is a disaster I don't know how the hell they stay in business! Mozzarella sticks were horrible and looked like they shortened us one too because everything but them had 4 pieces. They were fried on the outside and had a regular cheese stick inside. Best casual dining around. So much better than Chili's, Appleby's and the like. They have a very wide array of food and everything is good, almost universally. Love the salads, soup, honey butter croissants, fish, chicken fingers, appetizers, burgers, they pretty much have it all. Oh, and I cannot neglect to mention the cookie monster. A hot choc chip cookie, topped with an ice cream sunday. That is love in a spoon, and a great way to share dessert. No wonder this place is my husbands favorite. read more

Rudest bartender ever. We were one of four guests at the bar at 9 pm on a Saturday. My fiancé and I are both in the industry and would NEVER step foot in a restaurant an hour before closing and felt like we were fine to patronize an hour and a half before they closed. We were treated like complete garbage. Our "thank yous" were met with a grumble and a "yep". We got our food to go and had a couple of shots before leaving. My shot was NOT a true pour. No count; I probably got half a shot? My fiancé even noticed. The bartender also used the same glasses we had our previous shot in. That's ok for some people, including us, but how can you not ask us if we're ok with that? It was so lazy/rude! Thank goodness we got our food to go. I couldn't imagine how he was going to get any of his clean up done with us at his bar far before close! The food was incredibly meh. It was expensive. I took a friend out to lunch to Cheddars in June, food was very good, service met expectations. Took my daughter to lunch there yesterday and will not go back. Had the same meal as I had in June, Asian chicken salad. Salad was about half the portion it was last time, server not attentive and waited for my add-on for my salad and server slid it onto the table as she ran by. Major attitude. Dinner with my wife and daughter was very nice - food was very good and table server Mariah was spot-on with courtesy, professionalism, and offered some good suggestions.
