Ube Cheesecake
Jarred F.

This Japanese bakery has jiggly cheesecakes as well as frozen varieties. We tried the Ube fresh and man was it delicious! We can't wait to return and see what other goodies they add to their menu! The bonus is that you're also at H Mart, which has all of the Asian treasures.

A great addition to the ever growing Asian dessert scene in he Denver/Aurora area. Chaton specializes in cream puffs, Japanese style cheesecakes and more. We came for the cheesecake as we've been looking for one since we moved in 7 years ago. How does it compare to Uncle Tetsu or the places I've had in Japan? It's close but I can say it's the best rendition I've seen in Colorado. The texture is almost there...like 80 percent there, it still feels more sponge cake than a mix of fluffy cheese cake and sponge cake compared to the uncle Tetsu or Hokkaido Milk Bar. The ube flavor is good and our favorite but it the cheese flavor could be increased by maybe 25 percent. I know I'm comparing this to something superior, but you know what...that's totally fine because we finally have something in Colorado that the locals can finally try that's close to the best thing out there. We waited 15 minutes in line for it....I wouldn't wait 2 plus hours like others have, but it's worth a drive if the line is shorter. Priced at $18 is a winner, go to NYC and you'll pay an arm and a leg. Make the the slight adjustments and you have a real winner here!

So I wasn't sure what to expect when this place opened but surprisingly, it was really good. The tart was delicious. The crust reminded me of like a croissant. Very buttery. I believe it was a cheese tart but very similar to an egg tart. The cream puffs were good too but definitely eat it right when you get it or maybe store in the fridge (it was warm and melty by the time I had it in the morning). From the looks of the cheesecakes, it looks very similar to Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake and like Uncle Tetsu, you can't get it by the slice but an entire cake will go quick. I will be back to try the cheesecake because Uncle Tetsus is one of my favorites so if we have one here, that'll be awesome.

We needed to go to the H Mart for some groceries and I have been seeing some viral videos about an all you can drink Boba shop inside there so I was really excited to try this! The line can get pretty long and it's pretty bare bones since the business model is all you can drink, there are about four Boba options. I chose the tarot, it is held in one of those movie theater style dispensers, you just pay at the counter and they give you a cup with the Boba at the bottom and you get to fill it yourself with as much ice and tea as you want. If you want more Boba on your refill, it's one dollar. And the whole drink itself was only six dollars so it's really a good deal! It's pretty sweet, and you can't adjust anything about it, so honestly, I was really only able to finish a little over a cup and had to save the rest. They are also a bakery, with different Asian snacks, I wanted to try the Ube cake, but it was not served in single sized pieces. They also were out of some of the best items, including the basque cheesecake. :( I decided to try a pistachio cream puff, I did not like it at all, the filling was too rich and heavy, and there was not enough difference in the outside texture to offset it. Maybe the original one would have been better. Still for all you can drink Boba this is a can't miss situation

Been looking for the jiggly cheesecake aka Japanese cheesecake forever. I got there when the line wasn't horrible, but still had a 30 minute wait. They were out of original which was the only item i wanted - up until i was 3 people away from ordering and a fresh batch of original came out of the oven and was beginning to be processed in front of us. When these places first open up - you have to be patient and wait. So that's what i did and i would've amended my order if they were still out of the original. The cream puffs looked fantastic. I plan to go back and order different items on my next visit. The cheesecake itself was so delightful. It was still warm when i got home. I gave it a little bump in the side to make it jiggle. Seriously - that made my day. It is light, creamy, and not overly sweet like conventional cheesecakes. The cake gets their kitty logo branded during the process stage: Chaton, get it?

We had a Pain au chocolate, ube black sesame cake, egg nog and ginger cake and passion fruit cake. All were fantastic and unique in flavor. Somewhat small on the inside with a cute bar, a variety of both high and low top seating, and a bakery case for quick ordering near the entrance. Service was excellent and it was clean and bright inside. The food was out of this world good. First off, I'm a sucker for a London Fog and this was one of the best I've had. Their cocktails all look super good and will be back to try some. Our table ordered a variety of meals and some pastries to-go. We tried the hash, Benny, stuffed French toast, veggie omelet, sourdough baguette, macarons, croissants, and a pop tart. For the meals: - hash (corned beef is perfectly cooked and it's a nice sized portion with a runny poached egg on top and hollandaise over a crispy/well-seasoned Rösti - very good but a little on the heavy side for me) - benny (loved the flavors of this one and that duck confit was so flavorful and tender. Also, loved the bright, refreshing salad it comes with) - veggie omelet (I didn't try this one, but my brother in law said it was a great, traditional omelet - nice and cheesy) - stuffed French toast (WOWWWW - no notes. It was sublime. The passionfruit stuffing was to die for and it comes with a candied honeycomb. Not something I normally order, but we split it for the table and everyone wanted another one it was so good!) The sourdough baguette is perfect and has little flakes of sea salt on the crust. Crunchy on the outside and soft and spongey on the inside. All of the pastries are delicious and I've got my eye on so many more things for the next visit. 10/10 experience.

Such a home-y vibe!…read more It's inside of a church! I was driving a friend from Centennial to Aurora and this place was perfectly on the way. Literally nothing much else around AT ALL. It was a SINGLE pin on my google map - no pins near it at all! I must have pinned this at some point as "a place to go to sometime when in the area" but I really can't remember pinning it and am not sure why I would pin a coffee shop located in a church! However! This is the second coffee shop that I've seen in Denver while driving by - like located as part of a massive church, so it was interesting to actually be checking it out. It was a weekday and there was a vast parking lot and there were like 4 cars. LOTS of parking! Once inside, I immediately relaxed! Didn't even know I was tense! There was so much to look at and it smelled so good inside. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. Something baked tho. My eyes wandered everywhere over the various retail areas, the furniture - couches to patio furniture, the people behind the counter, the various large chalkboards, menus, etc. Lots to look at. I wound up getting a spicy chai! I never order chai! I must have been under some strange spell from being immersed in the warm comforting baked goods aroma! The spicy chai had KICK! It was so good that I ordered a second one to go! My friend ordered that ham+cheese biscuit which looked amazing, with those cheese legs dripping! Whoa! It was such a nice coffee + conversation vibe. I would totally go again if I am ever in that area again! Oh! The 2 behind the counter were very friendly and knowledgeable about their vast variety of menu and drink items!

Lastly, don't try to pick up your cake earlier than the scheduled time. First time I've experienced a cake not being made earlier than scheduled pickup--I must be spoiled. I came by 2 hrs early (at 11am) when my pickup was at 1. They were still making the cake and said to come by 1. She mentioned they get backed up on weekends and don't have a lot of staff, so I get it. Came by at 2 just to make sure it was done.
