I give it 5 stars, and here's why. First, I read a few reviews here claiming it's not worth $16-18 for a cheesecake. I have to disagree. It's reasonably priced considering the location, and there are no other authentic Japanese bakeries nearby that specialize in souffle-style Asian cheesecake. Yes, there are Eurasian bakeries like EBakery next door, Yum Yum across the street, or Tous Les Jours around the corner, but they don't make fresh cheesecake. Second, I like their limited menu, which means that's all they do and that they perfect it. Japanese souffle cheesecakes are clearly the best when eaten fresh and jiggly, but if that's not an option, you can always refrigerate them and enjoy that slightly dense, creamy texture, still airy. Also, these cheesecakes are naturally not very sweet. They have just enough sweetness to add a touch of flavor, unlike American cheesecakes, which are full of sugar and dense cream cheese. Their cream puffs are, again, on the same limited menu. They have only a few flavors. They are airy and fluffy, not too sweet. Their shells also remind me of soboro bread. Unlike Italian or American cream puffs that have chewiness to the shell. As far as service goes, I appreciate the cashier's patience in explaining each ingredient, what's best, and how to store them and their shelf life. Since they only use limited, whole, natural ingredients, he thoroughly explained how long each item stays good. I do like the idea of bottomless boba drinks as long as you're shopping at H Mart. That's nice, but given its location, it can be inconvenient. Still, the idea is good, I guess. Maybe in the future, if they can incorporate a small cafe setting to sit and enjoy unlimited boba drinks and serve cheesecake by the slice, that might be more feasible with the bottomless tea idea or by relocating near the cafeteria area, which would make more sense. read more

We were shopping at H Mart and saw them flip the sign to open. We were excited since we missed them last time we were shopping. We tried their boba drinks and frozen mini cakes. You order at the counter and they'll give you your boba cup so you can select which ever drink you'd like they just need to know if you want toppings which then they supply it in the cup prior. The self-serve drinks are unlimited so you can drink as you shop and refill (You would pay for any additional toppings if you want those refilled too). Unfortunately, we got these on our way out of Hmart and didn't get to take advantage of that. We took our mini cakes home and ate them there. Overall everything was alright. I would go again to try the bigger original cheesecake. read more

Amazing service, great pastries and cheesecakes. Line was not bad on a Sunday at about 4:30PM. Was able to get an original cheesecake and 3 cream puffs. Also ordered a basque cheesecake but thought it was a little pricing for the size. Clean space, great tasting pastry. The bakery struck my interest because so many people online were talking about it. It is located inside the H-Mart Aurora. The first time I went was on a Saturday afternoon and there was a long line so I skipped trying it. The second time I went during the week and there were significantly less people so I jumped win line. I ordered the Milk Tea. I was given a cup and directed towards a self serve station. The cup had no ice in it but came with the boba I ordered. The cup lid has bear ears which are cute. As long as you order a cup a person can get free refills. I didn't get any baked goods. Chanton is known for the Japanese soufflé cheesecake. I wasn't interested in any of the baked treats. I will most likely not try it again. read more

If you ever happen to be shopping at H Mart, then Chaton is a quick, sweet treat to pick up whilst you shop. Their unlimited milk teas hit the spot as I stroll through the aisles. You can top off more boba or jelly for an additional $1 each time you refill. It is a little pricey for the size of the cheesecakes but I can't find any comparable Japanese cheesecake elsewhere so... the cost may make a little sense. And they add seasonal flavors too, which is nice to try something new if you're looking for some change. I personally love their yuzu basque cheesecake. Chaton has the perfect balance of yuzu and cheesecake. read more

A great addition to the ever growing Asian dessert scene in he Denver/Aurora area. Chaton specializes in cream puffs, Japanese style cheesecakes and more. We came for the cheesecake as we've been looking for one since we moved in 7 years ago. How does it compare to Uncle Tetsu or the places I've had in Japan? It's close but I can say it's the best rendition I've seen in Colorado. The texture is almost there...like 80 percent there, it still feels more sponge cake than a mix of fluffy cheese cake and sponge cake compared to the uncle Tetsu or Hokkaido Milk Bar. The ube flavor is good and our favorite but it the cheese flavor could be increased by maybe 25 percent. I know I'm comparing this to something superior, but you know what...that's totally fine because we finally have something in Colorado that the locals can finally try that's close to the best thing out there. We waited 15 minutes in line for it....I wouldn't wait 2 plus hours like others have, but it's worth a drive if the line is shorter. Priced at $18 is a winner, go to NYC and you'll pay an arm and a leg. Make the the slight adjustments and you have a real winner here! read more

Found many of the fresh cheesecakes at Chaton Bakery inside the HMart in Aurora actually were cheaper than the ready made frozen cheesecakes in the store. The Japanese style souffle cheesecakes are $16 to $18; Taiwanese style sponge cake is $12; mini size Basque cheesecakes are $10, the cream puffs are $6 and the cheese tart is $4, the only thing that is more expensive but also larger in portion are the frozen cheesecakes, at $38 to $43. But the best deal probably is the unlimited refill cold drinks, quite a bargain comparing to the can beverages in the store. read more

So I wasn't sure what to expect when this place opened but surprisingly, it was really good. The tart was delicious. The crust reminded me of like a croissant. Very buttery. I believe it was a cheese tart but very similar to an egg tart. The cream puffs were good too but definitely eat it right when you get it or maybe store in the fridge (it was warm and melty by the time I had it in the morning). From the looks of the cheesecakes, it looks very similar to Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake and like Uncle Tetsu, you can't get it by the slice but an entire cake will go quick. I will be back to try the cheesecake because Uncle Tetsus is one of my favorites so if we have one here, that'll be awesome. read more

It opened in March 2026 and I got there early, which felt right. The setup is compact and intentional: a small bakery counter inside H Mart's space, the kind of spot that doesn't announce itself loudly but doesn't need to. The pastries do the talking. The yuzu cheesecake is the reason to come. Yuzu is one of those flavors that's easy to get wrong, too sharp, too faint, or just buried under cream, but this one is dialed in. It's bright without being aggressive, creamy without being heavy, and the finish lingers in the best way. If you've never had yuzu in dessert form, this is a strong introduction. Chaton's own philosophy is that happiness shows up in the everyday, and the baking reflects that soft, balanced, nothing trying too hard. For a spot this new, the execution is already solid. We needed to go to the H Mart for some groceries and I have been seeing some viral videos about an all you can drink Boba shop inside there so I was really excited to try this! The line can get pretty long and it's pretty bare bones since the business model is all you can drink, there are about four Boba options. I chose the tarot, it is held in one of those movie theater style dispensers, you just pay at the counter and they give you a cup with the Boba at the bottom and you get to fill it yourself with as much ice and tea as you want. If you want more Boba on your refill, it's one dollar. And the whole drink itself was only six dollars so it's really a good deal! It's pretty sweet, and you can't adjust anything about it, so honestly, I was really only able to finish a little over a cup and had to save the rest. They are also a bakery, with different Asian snacks, I wanted to try the Ube cake, but it was not served in single sized pieces. They also were out of some of the best items, including the basque cheesecake. :( I decided to try a pistachio cream puff, I did not like it at all, the filling was too rich and heavy, and there was not enough difference in the outside texture to offset it. It's okay. The wintermelon tea with lychee is tasty and I really enjoyed the Bori!ng Coffee with boba. They offer limitless refills, but the layout isn't super conducive to that - as there isn't a place for you to sit and hang out. Also, I'm not sure how much milk tea one could reasonably consume to make it "worth it." I personally enjoy the original cheesecake, but definitely not worth $16. But no one I've brought pastries to has enjoyed them. The milk tart tastes kind of odd and everything else is so full of cream that you feel like you're eating air. The people are super friendly and can help with recommendations. Again, it's fine but not something to go out of your way for. read more

My daughter went here with a friend on Monday and on Tuesday, we went to try it. She said the ube cheesecake was the best and she wants it for her birthday. It is delicious and not too sweet. Staff could not be nicer. We went mid day on a tuesday and there was barely a line. We also got the all you can drink Boba for$6 in taro. It was great! We tried the 3 creampuffs for $10 and got pistachio and ube. Both were very good. I would highly recommend this place and fun to shop in HMart too! read more

Been looking for the jiggly cheesecake aka Japanese cheesecake forever. I got there when the line wasn't horrible, but still had a 30 minute wait. They were out of original which was the only item i wanted - up until i was 3 people away from ordering and a fresh batch of original came out of the oven and was beginning to be processed in front of us. When these places first open up - you have to be patient and wait. So that's what i did and i would've amended my order if they were still out of the original. The cream puffs looked fantastic. I plan to go back and order different items on my next visit. The cheesecake itself was so delightful. It was still warm when i got home. I gave it a little bump in the side to make it jiggle. OMG, the most delicious Japanese Ube cheesecake I've ever had!! So good, and at such a great price. Run. Grab a couple!!

I really wanted to give this place a 5 star review and trust me I neverrrr give bad reviews. If anything I just won't write one at all. We waited In Line for an hour which was understandable for the fact that it blew up on instagram but once we got to the front of the line, we were told that it would be a 25 minute wait for the ube cheesecake. So we said what's 25 minutes? and decided to wait. An hour later , still no ube cheesecake. They kept saying 10 more minutes and still no ube. If they would have been honest with the wait time, we would have just decided on not getting the item. At that point I didn't even want it anymore. We ended up waiting an hour and a half until we received it and the girl didn't even say sorry knowing how long we had waited until I expressed my frustration. Other people that waited less time received a complimentary item for the inconvenience. However, we did not. :( On the other hand, the ube cheesecake and the Japanese cheesecake were delicious.
