I noticed NoNo's after pulling into the parking lot of the hotel where we were staying at. Luckily, it was just a short walk over and we were immediately greeted by the staff at the front door. The hostess was extremely friendly, very conversational, and we definitely got that Southern hospitality. Our waiter, Ben, was extremely helpful when it came to questions we had and dishes that he would recommend us to try as first timers. We started off with their monthly special of fried okra and it was very delicious especially dipped in their homemade sauce. The okra was lightly battered, fried to perfection, and had a little spicy kick to it for every bite. Both my wife and I went with Ben's recommendation of the Monica-Smothered Catfish and Pork Chops. It was great to know that you could order the lunch portion during dinner hours and we did just that as we weren't too hungry after getting off the plane. The catfish fillets were cooked perfectly and it paired well with the crawfish tail cream sauce. One of the best catfish dishes I have eaten. As for the pork chop, it was grilled perfectly as well and the vegetables were a nice side. Also, one of the best pork chop dishes I have eaten. The creamed potatoes were delicious, but I didn't expect melted butter on top. Since the restaurant was busy for dinner service, there was a hiccup with our toddler's meal and Ben resolved it very quickly. I wished we had room for dessert because the descriptions were definitely mouth watering and Ben did ask us a few times if we wanted to try the beignets as they are a top seller. All in all, we would definitely come back here whenever we're in Colorado to try other dishes as well as the desserts! Service was excellent as our waiter and the other staff made our dining experience very smooth and seamless. They checked in on us in a timely manner and made sure we weren't missing anything. The restaurant was clean and had a good mix of the Colorado outdoor and the Southern/New Orleans decor. NoNo's is a quick walk from the hotel I typically stay at when I am in the area for dog events at Chatfield, so needless to say I've eaten dinner here a few times. It's always a treat - it reminds me of Broussard's, the little Cajun/Creole joint in Loveland that closed down many years ago and was my introduction to the more home-y style of this cuisine. My most recent visit was this past weekend, a Saturday night dinner with judges and club members for the event I was participating in. We sat on the patio, which made for catching some nice evening breezes after being out in the unseasonal, record-breaking heat for the day. Service was a little spotty - friendly, but orders a bit mixed up and plates brought out 2 at a time with significant gaps in-between (which meant it took a while for our party of 7, and I happened to be the last person served). I will say this is unusual, so I'm not sure if it was a new server or if was particularly busy in the kitchen. It may be that since it is not the norm it was all the more noticeable? In any case, I always enjoy the food. This weekend I had the Crawfish Monica served over rice. I'd say that the Monica sauce is more creamy than spicy, which suits me just fine since my spice tolerance has waned as I've gotten older. It came with a house salad on the side - perfect for some relief from the rich, creamy sauce. I will say that the dinner portion is enough for 2 or 3 meals - sadly I forgot my leftovers in the hotel fridge (an all too common occurence). read more

Ordered from Nono's togo thought it was OK. I was kind of bummed the jambalaya was a seasonal dish especially it being a Creole restaurant. I ended up getting the Beef Stroganoff since it seemed like another popular dish on the menu. I'm not sure if the togo box made the portion look smaller or if ordering togo means getting a smaller portion, but for the cost of the dish I wasn't sure the portion size was worth it. The dish itself was not bad, not overly salty (which is important to me). It was worth a try and I may be down to come back to try the jambalaya whenever that is back in season, but not sure Nono's would be my top choice. read more

Shepherd's pie was pretty good, but I would've liked more peas instead of corn. They really loaded the corn. Side of mac was weird. It had good flavor, but the pasta was in the shape of long tubes. I've had mac with elbow pasta and penne, but never this one. I don't think I liked it. Beignets and strawberry margarita were outstanding. I often order the gumbo. OMG! The best in the state by far! The house dressing and salad is so unique and so good! I've also had the Crawfish Monica, the Monica-Smothered Catfish, the Catfish Po'boy, the Cajun Pickles, Mayme's Mac & Cheese, and the Strawberry Cake. They've hit it out of the park every time I've been there. The cafe is cozy, friendly, and New Orlean's themed. I believe it is owned by a family that moved here from Louisiana decades ago. This was my first time here and I came with a group that had been here many times. I had a salad with an avocado on it and the yummiest dressing ever, it was creamy but a little bit spicy. I wish I could replicate that at home. It seemed everyone was treated like old friends when they walk through the door. I think this restaurant has been around for quite some time. We visited NoNos around 3pm, so we did not deal with the lunch or dinner rish. So overall, parking was easy. The service was good and attentive. Because we sat in the patio area, it may be a little harder to get someone to check. But even with that, the server did come and check in frequently. Now the food: I did enjoy their cornbread. They add pickled jalapeños in it, which was perfect with the butter and cornmeal. We ordered two entres: Blackened catfish and the beef stroganoff. If I had to pick one, I highly recommend the blackened catfish. The sauce was full of cajun spices and the first bite was an explosion of flavor in our mouths. It was creamy and with the blackened catfish that was slightly l seasoned was perfectly balanced. The beef stroganoff was underwhelming. Although creamy, I will say it was lacking seasoning. I had to add some salt, and wished that it had a deeper flavor. But overall, the food was delicious. Next time, I'd like to try their kicken blackened chicken. read more

We arrived at NoNo's at 8:00 am, and were the first group seated for breakfast on a Saturday. Other customers were seated shortly after. We ordered first, but were the last group seated to receive food. Finally, when we received food at our table, they didn't bring our son's order. Our son is 25 years old and is Hispanic. The waiter told us the cooks hadn't even started cooking his order. So, four of us sat, with our meals getting cold, while we waited for the cooks to prepare our son's food. All of us concluded, given the circumstances that we witnessed, that the poor service was a result of our son being Hispanic. We won't return. read more

Bottom line: The food is SPECTACULAR! Not a huge menu, but well balanced with tastes for all and weekly "Feature" dishes that add a real personal touch from the creative kitchen. Check out the photos of the two entrees we had: Sonda's Ribeye Salad (a FULL meal at a super reasonable price), and Crawfish Monica, which is slap-your-pants delicious in every bite! Met a friend for lunch. Immediately had drink orders taken and served! After a bit of catching up we ordered 2 PoBoys ... 1 catfish and 1 spicy chicken. Oh, they also just started serving French fries! The PoBoys were great. My chicken had guacamole and jalapeños on the side. My friend always has the catfish and that 'puppy' disappeared! Nonos café is a southern restaurant located in Littleton CO. It is a very interesting and what I would assume is authentic restaurant. I have not had much authentic southern food in my life so this was a cool experience. I went here a few times when I was living across the street from it. The food was always very good bursting with flavor and passion you could tell they loved making their food. A few things I got that were really good were the Mac and cheese and the deserts. The service was kind and patient even they though are always busy they never made me feel rushed. The ambiance matches the restaurant very well. They have a lots of seating and they have a patio for the warm summer days. Nono's is very clean, well run, and has great food. It is not my favorite type of food but that doesn't affect how good their restaurant is. Go give nonos a try and enjoy! read more

I ask all of the time on their Facebook page that they update regularly if they have Chicken NoNo. It is one of their specialties that they don't seem to have very often. They never respond to my question. I mean, never respond. Well, we decided to come in this last week and chance that they would have it. They didn't sadly but that didn't stop us from getting delicious New Orleans Cajun food. Our service was good except she forgot to bring my father in law's beer that he ordered until after the food arrived and we asked for it again. Otherwise the food came out quick and the service was on point. I got the fried catfish plate with their must have mac n cheese and sliced fresh tomatoes. My mother in law tried something new and got the smothered blackened catfish and she LOVED it. My father in law tried the sausage po boy and said it was good. And my husband got one of his go to items the blackened catfish. All food was delicious and came out hot. Restaurant was very clean and the service was friendly from the time we arrived to the time we departed. Appetizer list is lacking but we did order the crab dip which was served with stale bread and is way too cheesy and bland, so would not personally choose that route again. If we come back, I'll be having just red beans and rice because the cup of it that I ordered was really very good! Great flavor, seasoned very well, a little spice but still mild in heat. Ordered the blackened cod for dinner with rice and the tomatoes. Tomatoes didn't have any noticeable vinaigrette on them, but they were good with a little added salt. One of the others at our table ordered the blackened cod as well as it is listed on the menu and didn't care for the mac and cheese; said it was really bland and boring. The third at our table ordered the bbq shrimp and enjoyed it. We split a slice of strawberry cake for dessert and that was good as well. Overall, the food here is served hot and freshly made, but bland. Food can be seasoned well and not be spicy if they're concerned about turning people off with traditional Cajun heat levels. The menu is interesting. As written, it appears small, but in reality it is really rather large because you can pick and choose to some degree what you'd like. For instance, the catfish can be blackened, grilled or fried. The menu only states blackened. It also only states that it comes with macaroni and cheese and the tomatoes, but you can swap those out for other sides. That's a huge selling point to have variety and the different selections and I'm surprised it isn't highlighted more on the menu. I learned this from playing around with the online ordering platform prior to our dine-in visit because sometimes the online platforms are more current/accurate than the actual online menu. read more

My husband and I were visiting Denver and stopped here for dinner. It was so good, in fact, that we returned again before we left. I actually ordered the Kickin' Chicken salad both times because I loved it. Josh served us and was great. At one point, he was somewhat MIA, but maybe there was a good reason. The spicy ranch dressing is fantastic because it tastes so obviously homemade and it's not overly spicy. The blackened chicken is excellent but I only wish it wasn't quite so salty. The homemade croutons are so delicious, I think they'd be a hit served in baskets on the table. My husband had the lunch special on this day, which was a crawfish corn tomato chowder. I've been eating at NoNo's since the beginning. I love the staff. I love the food. I love the consistency. The only thing that I would ask is to please have some kind of vanilla sweetener on hand, PLEASE. You used to have a hidden stash to accommodate my sweet coffee drinking needs, but stopped carrying it recently, to my dismay. You don't make lattes (which I know would be a big ask from me), which many other restaurants do so sometimes I end up choosing other restaurants simply for the coffee. If you can have some vanilla sweetener on hand, I'll be there every weekend and I'll turn that NoNo's 4 star to a YesYes 5 star rating! read more

The Mac n cheese it came with was absolutely terrible. It is quite literally a block of noodles stuck together with cheese melted on top. And it's "homemade" whatever that means. As a Mac n cheese lover it's the worst, greasiest, sorry excuse for Mac I've ever encountered. It's "Cajun" but even when I looked up Cajun Mac online it wasn't like this. But based on past experiences here, the service was extremely slow, from acknowledging our table to placing our order to receiving our food and, eventually, our check. Everyone was friendly but just slow! The restaurant was not very busy at 2pm on a Saturday but this slow pace seemed to be a new vibe. We ended up having to take most of our food to go because our hour plus there was mostly waiting. Still recommend if you are looking for great food. Love this place! The New Orleans background of the owners is evident in the menu, but there are so many options, and they change it up pretty frequently. On many visits, the servers have all been great. They are professionals, and treat everyone as the guests that they are. The location is welcoming. When they remodeled several years ago, we at first missed some of the decor, but have gotten used to the cleaner feel. From Brunch to dinner, this is a great restaurant. Their Green Chilé is really good, and the Alligator Pears are another favorite. Shepherd's Pie is one of my go-tos, and son has favored the Kickin' Chicken sandwich. Beignets and coffee have been a great afternoon treat for me & Mom on a few occasions. read more
