Now for some areas where they can improve: Pretty inflexible; If you're an early arriver to get a table for a larger party, say, 4 people total; you have to sit in a waiting area until the other parties arrive. My husband and I finally tried The Egg and it was DELICIOUS! It's a small space but they are very efficient and tables move fast. Luckily there was one open when we arrived so we were seated right away. My husband had The Egg skillet with pancakes (came with 2!) and I had the Florentine omelet with sourdough toast. My only critique is it was very heavy on the hollandaise and I should've gotten it on the side, but it was delicious nonetheless. I also am a big fan of their hashbrowns- they aren't your classic thin shredded, but rather wider pieces and perfectly crispy. Everything was so good and we will definitely be coming back! read more

I can't believe I have lived in HR for 15 years and this is the first time to this wonderful restaurant. We tried the chicken fried steak skillet and the chili relleno burrito. Both dishes were super. Loved the side of biscuits and gravy that came with the skillet. The chili relleno burrito was fantastic and a different menu item. Loved the smothered in green chili. My friends and I have breakfasts here at least once a month. The food, pricing, service, and ambiance are all tops. Lunches are good too.

First visit here in close to a year. They were busy around 11 on a Saturday, and we ended up waiting 20-25 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, service was pretty quick. I tried the Mediterranean omelette (I think) for the first time, and it was very good. Along with holding the tomatoes, I might hold the olives too next time, as they were a bit much. My daughter liked the hash omelette. My French toast side was pretty good but could've been a little better done. Neither of us were impressed with her biscuit and gravy, which were small and kind of sad looking. Coffee is always good too. read more

WOW!!! The Egg is only 5 minutes away from me & I never knew it was there. What a gem of a restaurant!! Obviously, as the name implies, The Egg is open at 6am for the breakfast crowd! I was in the mood for Chicken Fried Steak, so I turned to Yelp & The Egg was the first restaurant listed. It had almost 5 Stars & over 100 reviews, so it met my criteria to try. I went after I voted (Make America Great Again!!!) so it was around 8am. The place had a nice crowd in there & I was greeted instantly by multiple waitresses. They said I could sit anywhere, and I picked a table in front of the TV. Instantly I was greeted by a server & she asked if I'd like anything to drink first, so I got a cup of Joe & let me tell you, EXCELLENT coffee. I had to find out who the maker was, it was Farmer Brothers Coffee & it was the BEST cup of coffee I've had since living in Colorado (5 years). The menu was HUGE! Check it out for yourself, both sides and it was about 16" long & laminated! The Breakfast choices were numerous, but I had my mind set on Chicken Fried Steak. It came with 2 eggs any style, hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. The CFS was to die for! It was so tender, juicy and loaded with gravy! It was HUGE & EXCELLENT! Dang this place was rockin' good. We had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a table but now I know why. I had "the classic breakfast" which was eggs, choice of meat, breakfast potatoes and French Toast. It's really too much food for one person but I'm not one to shrink from a challenge. It's my hidden gem for breakfasts. A favorite meal is the Chili relleno's and eggs. They do this one great and know what they're doing especially with the green/red chili. Smothered omelette is delicious too. Prices are good compared to everyone else in this category. The servers have been there for years, friendly and always topping off the coffee cup. Went for brunch on a Sunday and luckily beat the crowd. There were benches in the back to sit luckily. However, we didn't sit for longer than 20 minutes. Coffee was good, steak omelette was good and the Rlleno bowl was one of the best breakfasts my Relleno loving husband said he ever had. Definitely a great breakfast. read more

Went and checked this place out from all the good recent reviews, but was let down a little from the hyped reviews. The food was alright. They have big portion sizes, which for the price, makes a lot of sense but a bit overwhelming. The quality is a little disappointing. It could be just what I got but my Florentine omelette barely had any egg in it with the amount of ingredients that was in it and was drowned in hollandaise sauce (see pic). Basically scraped the hollandaise sauce off the omelette only to find some egg in the bottom. The service was great and that was pretty much the highlight of the visit there. Their outside seating was also nice especially with the nice weather. Overall, don't think I'd visit again or recommend to friends. read more

The good - the burrito was good! The green chili was good as well. The opportunities - the pancakes were overcooked and they sent ketchup instead of syrup. Since it was a takeout order this was unfortunate because any reheating would cook further and no syrup at home (it was a rare treat!). We just moved into the neighborhood and are already obsessed with The Egg. We've sat in once and done take out once and the quality is 10/10 regardless. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is always so kind and accommodating. They are always smiling and sent us out with to go coffee at the end of our meal close to closing. Some high lights so far... -the salads are HUGE and so satisfying - the green chile is unbelievable and can be added to anything and should be added to everything! - the burritos slap -the skillets slap - why was even the pita and tzaziki so good?! Another great breakfast at The Egg. So dependable over the years. My wife had the Denver Omelet which, might I say, she craves. The veggies in the omelet are never overcooked which not only preserves their flavors but makes the dish a taste sensation. I had the Carnitas Skillet special with onions, eggs perfectly medium on hashbrowns ... well not really hashbrowns in the traditional sense, more like country potatoes. There's so many options! We wanted to try it out while we had visitors. We were quoted about a 15 minute wait and people were being shuffled in and out so it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately there isn't anywhere else to wait but right in front of the restaurant. There's a cafe nextdoor with coffee and tea if you should need to wait longer, otherwise there just a parking lot. Luckily the wait wasn't too long and we were seated in a booth. We ordered right away and food was brought out quickly. No wonder they were able to get everyone in pretty fast. Despite the crowd, the whole place was pleasantly quiet or calm for the amount of people there. It wasn't chaotic at all and that was really nice with the small space. I ordered the corned beef hash and egg. You have a choice of toast, biscuit, or hash browns. The biscuit was in gravy. We also ordered a meat burrito and it was smothered in sauce and cheese. Everything tasted good, comfort food wise. Texture wise, since everything was covered in sauce or gravy, it was really mushy in the mouth. Definitely senior citizen friendly and was just okay in my opinion. It was lacking in freshness, something just seemed off. This is by far the best food I've had in the Denver area. I ordered the Relleno Skillet, and it brought tears to my eyes. The country Benedict was fantastic as well - but the skillet... it has me considering moving to Denver just so I can keep eating it. The service was incredible and the staff was kind. The green chile had good flavor and heat. The corned beef definitely looked homemade and not from a can like a lot of other places. Oh, and the potatoes/hash browns...SO GOOD!! Don't pass on these. Not very much seating because they are following social distancing with ample space between tables. It feels very clean & covid safe. They ask you to wait outside until your table is ready. I ordered the veggie omelet with biscuits and gravy & the hubs ordered the 2 egg breakfast with French toast. The service is quick, the staff is friendly and place is very clean.
