I'm glad to have this spot just a couple minutes from my apartment. It is super convenient and has quickly become a go-to for casual nights out. The drinks are well-priced (definitely more affordable than a lot of nearby places) and the food hits the spot for a tavern/bar. The burger and fries were solid, and the wings were flavorful with just the right amount of crisp. I also like that they serve them with fresh carrots and celery, which is a nice touch. Burgers are usually great. Last time not so much. I order onion rings and always end up getting fries. I think it's meh .

First off, this is a local bar & restaurant, so don't set your expectations too high. They're often busy but there are few other options around, which might explain that, because ... Food and drink: They serve average bar food. It's going to be greasy, salty and fatty. (They do have salads.). But don't grow too attached to any appetizer or entree. They update the menu item every year or two. The beer and spirit selection is ok. Service: Quality of service is generally good but can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes they won't check on you for 15+ minutes at a time. If they make a mistake, it's the customer's fault. I've never seen a manager or owner make the rounds to check on how customers are doing. Ambiance: It's laid back and often loud. You seat yourself. They have "arcade"-type of games for kids. They have a few tvs and will always show the local sports team. They have basic outdoor seating. There's TouchTunes but they'll turn off the music without warning, so don't waste your credits. Cleanliness/ upkeep. I've been going here over 2 years now and it looks the same as it always has. It's just a bar that serves food -- no reason to ever remodel or spruce up. In summary, if you are hungry and not that particular and live in the area, and maybe want a beer, then this place will do fine. I would not go out of my way for Waterton Tavern. There are plenty of good options up Wadsworth. It'll be interesting to see how this place survives as Sterling ranch and Roxboro continue to grow. read more

First time here. SUPER cute sports bar with a ton of TV"s to watch any sport you would want and the ambiance was nice with plenty of room. Staff was friendly and professional taking our order quickly and getting our food quickly as well. ONLY thing I could say is the food was so so awful .. Overpriced, overcooked and not much flavor. Food was basically burnt. Either that or they cooked two pieces in a fryer that had old grease that was shot. And the other piece of fish in a fryer that had new grease. I ordered the fish and chips. It came with three pieces of fish. Two of them were burnt. Why somebody in the kitchen would put these out on the same plate I do not know. The friend I was with got the nachos. The meat was very salty. The third person in our party got the turkey melt They said it was good. The server was very nice. Friendly and knowledgeable. But the food took quite a while. They gave me ALL the tots. I'll give credit where credit is due for that, though no human should consume that quantity of deep fried potato nuggets in any one sitting; possibly their lifetime. Other than the plentiful potatoes, the turkey melt sandwich was good. The beer was local so that's cool. Our experience was similar to others on the service. It was very slow. That could often be with the waiter or it could be with the kitchen. This time, it was the former. Either way, plan on taking it easy for a while here. If you're here long enough, you can make another meal out of the leftover tots. read more

We live the in the neighborhood and want to support local businesses, but when they scam you several times it's not worth it. (This is my second post about the tavern) This restaurant posts their menu online with the prices and so we ordered.. we went in to pick it up and each item was FOUR DOLLARS MORE. when you order 5 things... that's an extra $20 added to the bill and their response was "we haven't updated our website menu yet". What was I supposed to do? Be an asshole and refuse to pay? After doing some research this is illegal and the menu posted online is legally binding. $19 for a mediocre hamburger is outrageous. Again, I love small business/restaurants but go elsewhere to actually get what you're paying for and some honesty. read more

Great food! One of the best burgers I've had! I ordered the spicy bleu cheese burger without onions. It came with a hot sauce mixture and it was fantastic. The fries were also cooked perfect and not the "coated" fries, which are the best fries of course. I would have given a 5 star review but the service was slow and the restaurant was not clean. Seems the last few months the service has deteriorated. The food has also left a lot to he desired. Medium burgers come out as rare, fries cold. Rueben wasn't even edible. It seems that with all the new building in the area and lack of options for restaurants, if management cannot turn it around and soon.....there will be additional space for lease. We've been going there for the last few years but it's been more disappointing each time. We've chosen to spend our money on better options even if it's driving to highlands ranch. read more

Needed lunch after a great bike ride at Waterton Canyon so we looked on Yelp and found this great tavern less than 5 minutes away. Claudette had the turkey pesto sandwich which was great and I had the Ruben which has to be one of the BEST I've ever had (our waitress said it was the best thing on the menu).
