We haven't been in sometime so we dropped in for lunch and the place was pretty empty. I looking at the menu I expected more American and was disappointed in the amount of Mexican food on the menu. The oyster and ambiance seem to need more elevated experience would have appreciated more seafood, pasta, or even grilled items to dive into. I settled on fish and chips and it was a little disappointing. Fried but not crisp a little on soggy side the tartar sauce had bubbles so in the edge of expiration and fries cooked in oil that needs a refresh. It was b- experience and has protectional to be A++. Hope they can take it up a notch or two last time I was there it seemed better so are they slipping

Very disappointing experience today at Old Blinking Light. Sadly, the service was going well and we were having fun. I was with my wife and younger daughter. My daughter ordered the fish tacos. She found a plastic tortilla clip (piece of it) in her taco. I get that accidents happen, but the response to this list a local customer however. Common sense would say you comp the meal or even the whole bill, but nope not here. They charge my twice for those tacos and comp once. Just unreal experience by this restaurant management. So bummed that this place didn't shine given we are locals. Take my advice--look elsewhere for you next time

I visited this location for a weekday lunch recently. I ordered the fish and chips and wow! The portions are huge here. The tartar sauce was delicious and the fish was crispy- would definitely order this again. We sat inside but they have a huge patio I want to check out when we have warmer temps and I also want to explore their drink menu too! Only reason for 4 stars- it took awhile to get my card back and we were late to get to our next appointment.

Love the new vibe and changes creating a great open atmosphere. Food is excellent. Nicole was a great server. Table next to us had the Taos Enchiladas and cleaned their plate. Salmon was top notch. Yum!

Horrible Bloody Mary lacking all the things bloody Mary's traditionally come with, including the vodka.

We came here for Mothers Day brunch and the experience was a total disappointment. The service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress could care less that she had a table to service; oftentimes just hanging out chatting with the other servers. We came at 2pm for a reservation and it was not busy, so there is no excuse for the lack of service. We waited for quite a long time to get our drink orders. We ordered Bloody Marys, which anyone who has ever had one knows typically is served with garnishes, like celery, a lime/lemon, olives, etc.; these were served with nothing. It tasted like it was just Bloody Mary mix and no vodka whatsoever. So we asked to return them and ordered other drinks. Those took some time to get and were fine. The food quality was good- no complaints there. But we had to ask for silverware after the fact vs it already being on the table or brought with the food. She never came to see how our food was or to ask if we needed anything else. We had to ask another person working the dining area for additional drinks, which then, surprisingly never got "registered". We finally got the last round after we finished everything and already boxed up our food to go. We used to come here often before the new ownership/reopening, but we won't be back after today's experience.

food: 35/50 service: 25/25 ambience: 20/25 total: 80/100 Three stars mostly because the waiter samuel was so nice. The food was good not great for the price-- we ordered the taquitos to start. ($12) Note you only get 4 pieces. The taquito's green salsa made it taste good because the chicken itself was dry and not tasty. I ordered 2 apps to eat-- the beet salad appetizer and the sweet & spicy shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was not spicy, it definitely was on the sweet side. Decent amount of shrimps for the cost. ($15) The beet salad was really good, refreshing with goat cheese and pumpkin seeds. It was also well priced. ($10) Hubby got the prime rib dip, which he overall enjoyed. The con was that the portion seemed a bit small for the cost ($22) For dessert we got Juans flan ($6) and the brownie sundae ($8). Both were good, would recommend the brownie sundae over the Juans flan.

You know something's up when the TikTok algorithm advertises "dirty sodas",…read moreand Instagram feels the need to show shops in your area. Having wanted to sip on said beverages since seeing this trend, I was surprised to see Twisted Sugar in my area - aka the south burbs. Let me clarify - "dirty soda" simply translates to the soda of your choice, with extra jazz and cream in it - no alcohol involved. So last Saturday, I took myself on a solo adventure to Twisted Sugar. Let's just say, I wasn't the only one with that idea and was greeted with a line out the door. This place is popular! Mainly with the Gen Z crowd, but hell - they know the cool places - so I made my way inside. The space is a simple soda shop - showcasing the sweet treats made in house (think Crumbl but better and cheaper) with a view of the magic happening from the counter. There aren't tables or places to sit - so it's an order at the counter, wait and leave kind of spot. Which I didn't' mind - since I was in shop mode. The menu is overwhelmingly huge, offering all kinds of fun beverages, categorized by soda - Coke/Diet Coke/Coke Zero, Dr Pepper, Mt. Dew, Sprite, Orange, Root Beer, Sparkling water, lemonade, Energy drinks, frozen, etc. The combos are endless and all fun. Kinda wild - but fun! I opted to try two different drinks because they both caught my attention. The first one - Pixie - which featured Diet Coke, peach preserves, orange syrup and cream. OMG WOAH. I don't know what makes a blend like that taste so good - but damn. The flavors blended well together, creating a float like flavor and so good. The second one - Paradise Island. Sparkling Water, Strawberry, coconut, peach and fresh lime. OH MY GOD. This one was my favorite in that it was so refreshing, a burst of bright flavors and tasted like the perfect mocktail to take to the pool! The girls behind the counter were friendly, sweet and offered up their favorites before whipping up my order! Sugar free syrups are offered, along with low calorie options as well. PRO TIP: Drink are Buy-1-Get-1 free on Saturdays - so my grand total for the two small beverages was a whopping $3. Whoop! Gen Z's know what they are doing with this - so it's a must try!

My wife also LOVES cookie butter, so once we saw an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie butter cookie - we were sold. The service is always fast and the employees are kind (younger teens so minimal communication) We have now been three times, twice I have gotten a dirty soda, both times I have wished there was more cream (I did ask for extra), but the flavor is still great! We have tried the Oat Cookie Butter, Cinnamon Crunch, Cookies and Cream (not pictured) and Caramel Sugar. 10/10 across the board. They also serve them up cold, so it's very easy to split them up and warm them up on your own. I also want to note, as someone who LOVED Crumbl when they first got started and were dedicated to quality and not just overly sweet cookies, Twisted Sugar is a breath of fresh air, with quality recipes.

The cashier told me the smash cake would be a 4" cake and that in order for them (the bakers) to make it, I would also have to order cupcakes too. Online "All Custom orders start at $200 regardless of the size of the order." Plus the cost of cupcakes? The Ube cake is a 6" for $60 and a single cupcake was around $5? I'm all for supporting local and supporting Filipino businesses. I took the time to visit in person but it seemed very unprofessional that not one of the bakers (even seeing me as I was talking with the cashier) came to discuss the details of the order with me in person, what justifies the 3x charge for a custom order for a smaller cake and cupcakes (that I don't need).

Hopefully they'll expand the menu for such, in the future. This company does offer catering services, with an adorably quaint cart included. The refrigerated birthday cakes and skittle-colored macaroons looked to die for scrumptious and the artwork completely stunning. My wife got the ham and cheese and I got the duck, with mushrooms and onions. We each had a couple of bites of the others' meal to try it out. The crepes themselves were light and fluffy and quite delicious, and the fillings were very good and quite flavorful. The one suggestion I might make for improvement to the duck is to add some sauce after the crepe has been fully prepared - a balsamic reduction, gravy made from the duck drippings, or even some English style brown sauce a la HP. It was just a little dry and could use a bit of moisture to make it even more delicious. We'll look up this cafe-on-wheels' schedule and give them another try in the future. I'd love to try their other savory offerings, like the lamb, pulled pork and breakfast crepes, and my wife really wants to give their dessert crepes a shot - the custard and apple crepes delivered to the next table looked scrumptious. It appeared that everyone enjoyed their meals. Each of the customers we saw order their food chowed down with gusto. My guess is this business is pretty new - this is the first Yelp review of the establishment, they don't appear to have a Facebook page or Twitter feed, and their website is pretty sparse (no schedule, missing photos of some of their menu items, etc.) I recommend this mobile cafe for something different from the everyday.
