I'm not Mexican - far from it, but I have been there a few times and this place seems pretty authentic to me. The food was delicious, the service was great, and it was a pleasant atmosphere to dine in. Also, the prices were extremely reasonable - we did go during happy hour, but we were actually shocked by the value when we got the check. We did have to wait a few minutes, even though we had a reservation, but the place was truly packed, and it wasn't a long wait. Centennial, Colorado Came here on a Saturday night at 5:30. Waited at the hostess stand for someone to come up and put our name on the reservation. When the lady came up, she looked at me and said how many. I said hello how are you this evening? She said fine how many? I told her there were just two of us and she gives me a little beeper device. I smiled at her and said do you have an idea of how long it'll be? She rudely looks around the restaurant and said I don't know maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Ha ha. Just found out she was waitressing at the bar or bartending.. Nice attitude. I guess the good thing is she's not the hostess because if she was most people would leave. Our 15 minute wait was 27 minutes. Once we got a table we were brought some chips and salsa. Our waitress is obviously busy and it took another nine minutes for her to come to our table. We are waiting on water, which should've been brought right away and we have nothing to drink. The booths are individual and not attached to the wall or the ground. So every movement from the people that are sitting behind you feels like a carnival ride. Ugh! The menu is so hard to follow. With every meal, in small print, it says that they beans and rice are $2.99 extra. But then they have specials that are in photos on the menu. They don't even coincide with the page and those come with beans and rice. But they don't have any pricing. I ordered chicken enchilada suiza. My husband ordered a burrito. The portions were quite large. The rice has zero flavor. The enchilada had a green tomatillo sauce, but it had a bit of heat. The tortillas were blue corn tortilla. Very nice. The black beans were boring, but they did put cheese on top. I prefer them without cheese and a little bit of spice. The chicken Juanita burrito was good. My husband enjoyed it. He agreed the rice had no flavor and the refried beans lacked flavor as well. The waitress we had was kind. We asked a lot of questions to which she had to go and get answers for. Maybe she was new? Nonetheless, the fact that we had to wait so long with no communication and a very rude bartender/bar waitress and we had to wait so long to be greeted once we sat put a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't overly impressed with the food. It was average. The chips and salsa are nothing special. We were never offered a refill on them. Nor were we offered any more water or cocktails. Being that the front end service was horrific and the food was average, I am giving this place 3.5 stars. read more

My wife, her coworker, and I went to El Karajo on cinco de mayo after work. Overall we had a great time trying Karajo. When we got there we put our name in and it was very crowded due to the day and the deals they had going on. We only waited for 10 minutes before getting a table. Right as we sat down they brought us waters and chips and salsa without any request or wait. We put our order in and the food was out in just a few minutes. On Tuesdays they due a deal for taco Tuesday where you get 3 tacos beans and rice for a set price where normally it is a few dollars to add beans and rice. I got the tacos borrachos which had shredded chicken, onions, cilantro, and avocado. The chicken was unbelievable and very juicy. Everything was great that I tried. I took a bite of the veggie burrito and the enchiladas which was all amazing. The ambiance was very clean and authentic, i have really enjoyed trying Karajo and will definitely be back when I'm looking for authentic Mexican food for a good price. read more

We are so excited to have this place close. It's not THE best, but it's good and geographically ideal for us. The house margs are great and $8.50 regularly priced. I think they're 7 on happy hour, but that's only weekdays 3-6. We've come a few times. The nachos are substantial and can feed 2 people. The green chile plate is excellent. We also love the #7 combo plate. The raja enchilada is so tasty! Chips and salsa are free (thank you!) and the salsa is delicious! Service is always friendly no matter where you sit and it's a nice atmosphere- like you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant! We will be regulars here. read more

The breakfast burrito was great! I got mine smothered and I was super satisfied with my decision. The margaritas on the other hand were not good at all. Worst choice on the menu. The bathroom was also interesting, it was like walking into an actual toilet in Mexico. There was an underlying almost fish smell covered by a very healthy amount of bleach; also it was far more humid in the bathroom than it was in the restaurant. It was like it was a different location all together. I would come back for the breakfast burrito but I don't think I would do dinner here again. I like a nice margarita with my food and this one was not good at all. For the food I think you should come try for yourself; you will like it. If you want beers, they are cold enough to get the job done but the margaritas will keep me away. We were also sitting at a table that had a saddle as decoration and while it was a legit authentic saddle which is cool, it also took up a decent amount of the space directly in front of my face. read more

I made a reservation under my name for a party of six and arrived on time. When we checked in, we were told our table had already been given to someone else. She had my name but told me she just assumed the other party of 5 or 6 was us. The most disappointing part was the response from the hostess. Was hoping this restaurant would be a new local gem but sadly it missed the mark. There was plenty of staff on hand around 4:30 when I arrived but service was inattentive and very slow. House marg was disappointing, name brand house sour mix and tequila nothing exciting or new. Ordered 4 different tacos. The pastor and asada were really good. Two bite tacos were fresh but those two stood out with the most flavor. Chips and salsa were ok. The chips would have been better if they were served warm. Salsa was mild but tasted good. Went on a Sunday afternoon to have drinks and appetizers with friends at the bar and after being there for a little while was told that they wouldn't service us drinks any longer unless we ordered food. Has anybody ever heard of that before? I've never heard of that before since we had already ordered appetizers. Very unfortunate for them because we enjoy going there, but we will never go there again. The manager apparently was sitting at home, watching us on his camera, like a pervert, and was not there to even give us a reason for his decision. Too bad, so sad! The food is good. Great green chili. Dri is are a little weak. The servers and bartender are very nice. When the outside temperature is over 85degrees, the garage patio doors should be down. It make it to hot in the bar and restaurant. There is a regular door people and servers can use. People will stay longer and socialize when they are not sweating. I went back with my son on a Saturday during lunch. Place was hardly busy. I ordered steak and eggs. Service was fine. I noticed other tables seemed to be waiting awhile for drinks and food. Anyway, the food finally arrived. The steak was about what you can expect. A small skirt steak. The server never asked how I wanted it cooked. The eggs (3) were smothered and I couldn't tell if they were cooked enough. The potatoes were small cubes and hard. Almost raw. I mentioned it to the server and she thanked me for saying so. I sensed she wasn't thrilled with some of the food. Later in the day I became sick. I had only eaten at El Karajo up to that point. Without going into medical details, it ruined my weekend. I suspect the eggs were undercooked or old. My son enjoyed his Mexican dish. I would avoid any Huevos dishes. read more

Wow what a nightmare. I understand there can be issues upon opening a new restaurant but when the management and staff is oblivious to those issues is when to question the place. We ordered drinks and appetizers at once after our drinks showed up ordered our meals. We sat with no attention empty drinks, empty chop basket for 45 minutes finally our meals showed but no appetizers. My wife ordered two chile rellenos a'la carte as she doesn't like rice or beans. The waitress brought one. When mentioning we ordered two she informed us a la carte means one. I asked what happened to our appetizer she didn't even know it never arrived. Did get us more drinks then after we were done eating the appetizers showed up. The manager was either on his phone or watching tv the entire time. Never once interacted with customers or staff. Don't think this is a rough start just poorly ran. Save the frustration and go elsewhere where read more
