We always come here when we're craving a smothered burrito! This spot never misses. The staff is already friendly, quick, and efficient. There is limited seating, but it seems majority take togo. We've also tried their bacon egg burrito which is delicious! Highly recommend this spot! read more

Went for breakfast with my daughter. I haven't had Tamale Kitchen in ages! I wanted a breakfast burrito, but I can't have flour tortillas. They made me one with just the filling. Perfect! The nice young man at the counter was friendly and helpful. The burrito was delicious! All the flavors! Tamale Kitchen was busy, but our order arrived quickly. We chose to eat in, and got a quiet table in the back. Yum! Very no-frills space, and it looks like they've expanded their menu since my last visit. Must go back soon! read more

Man, I love Tamale Kitchen if I'm ordering via DoorDash (5 stars there!)... it always comes hot and the breakfast burritos are great. However, I legit got the Gen Z stare when ordering in person yesterday. The girl at register stared at me and didn't say a single word. I said "Hi, how's it going?" No response. Then said hi again in case she didn't hear me despite blankly looking at me. Proceeded to order and she told me the price, handed me the receipt and said nothing (usually they at least give you a ticket number and instructions for pickup because as a new customer you'd need that info) we still tipped because of the staff, but she may as well have been replaced by AI) went right back to her phone after we ordered and gave the same loser service to the next customer. Wild. My brother happened to go the same day and he had the same bizarre experience lol. I'll stick to the other location in Littleton moving forward. read more

Ordered a breakfast burrito and one pork tamale. The burrito and their salsa was SSOOOO yummy! It was perfect sized before a hike. The masa on the tamale was soft and perfect, but i do wish the filling has a little sauce. Meat was flavored well, but lacked a little smoothness from the sauce. I went back before getting my order to confirm extra hot chili. She said was mild. I advised no one asked what type of chili, but she didn't care. I asked if they could just top off with some extra hot then. Refused unless I paid for an extra pint of chili. On top of that, got to meeting and coworker found a hair in their burrito! This is a fast, cheap place to eat reasonable food. The breakfast burritos are pretty good and they are at about $6 as of today which is very cheap. I like the 'special' + 'extra hot' combination. There is really not a lot of meat in there to be honest though. Many times there's a line but it goes real fast. The place is clean, and service can be nice but can be weird sometimes. Also they don't have water cups and every little think you ask for is going to be extra. It is a very popular place and it's been around for ages so something must be going right there. I think it's the combination of cheap prices and ok food that draws many people to this place. read more

Was there as soon as it opened and they were ready to serve. Friendly counter service that delivered a hot quick bacon egg and potato breakfast burrito. I was expecting a soupy mess inside but it was very well made. I was the only customer there so was nice and quiet. In and out. I liked the spice level of the chili. This is my go to breakfast burrito shop since I was a child and the flavor still carries today. THE BURRITO: I have literally been going to this place since I was in highschool. It's been a long time and everytime I take a bite into the egg potato bacon special, it's like I'm tasting it for the first time, every time. The special sauce is just so delicious, it's everything you could ask for in a burrito. Warm, delicious, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned to make the rest of the ingredients pop. THE SIMPLICITY: This place doesn't have to do anything fancy to achieve the greatmess that they have. They take what is there and make it their own. There is nothing more I could ask for than the egg potato bacon. Please stay open. You guys are seriously one of the greatest things I look forward to in terms of restaurants and I hope you never go. My wife and I were waiting for two of our Aunt's to have breakfast together and arrived earlier then them so my wife said she was going to wash her hands and had to ask for a key for the restroom at the Sloan's Lake location. The lady asked very rudely if we were going to order anything and my wife said yes. Once our Aunt's arrived we began to place our orders and the lady was just extremely rude to the point one of our Aunt's decided to not order anything. Had my wife and I and our other Aunt not already ordered, we too would have not ordered and would have rather gone next door to Rupert's which was busy but would rather stand in line then go to Tamale Kitchen again as we are used to the excellent service and food from the Highlands Ranch location. The food at the Sloan's Lake location was also less than sub-par and do not recommend this location. read more

The only slight drawback was we'd asked for one with less potatoes and we are told yeah you will get that and yet we didn't. It would be good to know if they don't customize The orders. Messy sometimes but always hits the spot. There burritos are excellent make sure to always get the burrito special way with cheese and green chili. Only downside is they do not provide water cups here. Service is always fast count to 60 and you'll have your burrito. I recommend beef special. read more

Great quality Mexican food for the price. Tamales can be hard to find as a staple on a menu, these are pretty good. 4 stars for the overall value. The food is not fancy but it's good and very reasonably priced. It reminds me of holidays at my grandma's house. Tamales were a staple around Christmas. You should know the printed menu at the counter has a few things that aren't on the board, so look at both. I love crispy rellenos theirs is pretty solid but specify crispy or you will get a traditional one. I saw a review on their chile and wanted to say I think their chile has a kick but nothing crazy. It's also red chile not green. I'm not sure if they have a chile plate (which is what you want if you want more pork) but their chili for sides and smothering doesn't have much meat, which is normal. Also, besides chiles, onion and tomato you won't find a lot of "veggies". read more

It's just ok. Definitely far from great, but the price is so good I can't really mark it down too much. It's definitely fast food style, the inside isn't very appealing and not well taken care of. But with that said, I suppose it was clean. I got the Chicken taco meal, which has 3 chicken tacos with rice and beans. I also had a tamale on the side. Really, really bland food. The chicken tacos were just plain boiled chicken with cheese in a shell. The salsa saved my life there, and even then it really just seems like it came out of a jar of "Pace" from the grocery store. The food comes out fast, way too fast to be cooked with care. The tamales are pretty underwhelming for a place with "Tamale" in their name. read more

5+ stars!!! They have the BEST breakfast burritos! Bacon and chorizo are my 2 favorites but the sausage is yummy too. It doesn't come with cheese or their green chile sauce unless you ask... it's an additional .50 cents. So, for $5.50 you get an amazing burrito. The burrito size has gotten smaller and the price did increase a little...due to the price of EVERYTHING increasing. But they have the best burritos in Douglas County! I can only vouch for the breakfast burritos & their "green chili". The breakfast burritos are "made to order" but all of the insides including the eggs are made ahead of time, making the quality & taste very rubberlike. This is a solid spot that it's in my dinner rotation when I don't know what to eat. The food is nothing to write home about but not bad at all. The thing that keeps it in my rotation is their family meals. I typical get the family pack #2 this includes six tacos, six tamales, a pint of beans, a pint of rice, six tortillas, a pint of chile, and a 2-liter of coke all for $33! It's a great deal. Also, I would recommend the red chile tamales normally I prefer green chile but here I think the red chile is much more flavorful. read more

So the food was fine but then they told me they charge $3 for water. Not a bottle of water, water out of the tap. They went on to explain that kids take the water cup and get soda. One I am no where near the age of a kid and two they don't have water cups. Plus soda is cheap. Who cares if a few kids steal soda. Instead they push me away as a customer. No way I am paying three dollars for tap water. They could charge an extra 7 cents per food item to pay for the stolen soda by kids. This is crazy read more

Breakfast burritos are one of the most important things in my life. I think about them everyday, and I have a breakfast burrito every single day. I have had almost every breakfast burrito in the entire state of Colorado (nowhere else does green chile justice). Y'all have cured hangovers. I have cried tears into these breakfast burritos. I have come to get a breakfast burrito and ended up back for another one a few hours later. These are the only breakfast burritos in the entire state that truly understand me, despite the 50/50 chance of there NOT being extra green chile on my burrito like I wanted. Y'all open WAY past the breakfast hours of a working woman, which would be fine if you delivered. Part of me also hopes you don't ever deliver though because coming in has become a part of my routine. I am at this place pretty much everyday and I couldn't tell you who works there/owns it. Overall points: - Just plain fantastic - Terrible inconvenient hours (Fine, whatever, be that way) - Speedy service (Rarely takes more than 2 minutes unless you're there at the opening hour when there's a line out the door) - Occasional mistakes (doesn't even matter, still great, you just have to trust them) - You can see how they make them and put em together, just plain simple good ol' breakfast burritos - They don't want to be your friend or know anything about you which is refreshing. I have been a loyal customer of Tamale Kitchen for years. But lately, the increase in prices and the DECREASE in the food you receive is ridiculous. The majority of the staff is not friendly and I can deal with that, but when prices keep going up and you receive less and less product, it's time to move on. I have attached a picture below on tacos I bought today. The lettuce and tomatoes are served separately to be fair, but the meat and cheese that I received is a joke.
