I ended up ordering the burgers. Thier version of rellenos were deep fried stuffed egg rol which I do not care for. My burger was juicy even though I ordered it well done, fries were amazing. I got to taste the fajita with green chile which was excellent. The baby back ribs are fall off the bone kind with lots of BBQ sauces all over served with cole slaw with round shaped corn bread. This is another of my favorites in S. Denver/Highlands ranch area, I really like the architecture, ambience and selection, even picky eaters will find something above the norm here. The covered patio is great, but I really like the night time views out the full wall glass. Highly recommend the Grandma's Green Chilli soup, perfect on the cold winter days. The Prime NY Strip Tacos, Sonny's Weest Texas Spaghetti and Green Chile Mac 'n Cheese are some of my faves as well, you really cant go wrong here. read more

My husband and I have been to this restaurant the third time today! Every time we come here we really enjoy a wonderful atmosphere, a very friendly service, and delicious meals. Today we ordered artichoke appetizer which was very special. We have also ordered salmon with mashed potatoes and chicken enchiladas and they were delicious! Irene, our server, was very nice and very friendly, we loved her service! The last couple of times we came here, we tried rotisserie chicken, pork chops, steak fajitas, and the ahi tuna appetizer - all of these were amazing but pork chops are probably the one we would most highly recommend! We had a reservation at 12pm on a Saturday to celebrate our 9 year anniversary and decided to try this place out since we pass it often. We got there right at 12 and were seated pretty quickly! We were sat at a table next to the window with a view of the road we take often so we sat facing the restaurant. We ordered mini chile rellenos to start and were surprised with glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The chile rellenos were delicious! Our neighbors recommended these and the green chile and the pork take the taste to the next level. I've never had these until now and I'm glad we got them!! For entrees we got the Louisiana killer shrimp (sub coconut rice with mashed potatoes) and the double bone in pork chop. The cajun sauce was amazing. It paired well with the mashed potatoes as well. The pork chop was thick but the skin was on the salty side. The corn medley was so good and the apple on top balanced out the saltiness. The cajun sauce was definitely the highlight for me. For dessert, we tried the strawberry shortcake. This had good flavor but my only complaint was the biscuit was very dry. I think a sponge cake would've complimented this a lot better. Recently visited Sierra while a loved one was at the nearby hospital. It was a very emotional lunch, and our server was kind and sensitive about the situation, which meant a lot. We enjoyed a couple of ice-cold beers and some great Mexican dishes -- chips and queso, chile rellenos, and the NY strip tacos. Everything tasted great overall. My only note would be that chile rellenos are best served piping hot with the cheese fully melted inside. At a restaurant with these price points, I'd expect them to nail that detail every time. I expect that any food over $50 a plate should be done perfectly, and was so disappointed and wanted it to be great. I made it taste better the next day with lemons and pepper at home. Came with some friends I'm so glad they recommended it because it's off the beaten path of where I would normally go. I started with some artichoke and it was amazing. On our trip to Denver we stopped in Sierra for lunch. The restaurant is open with beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. We ordered the Chicken fajitas and the Shrimp fajitas , both delicious.! They come with tortillas, cheese, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo. Overall service was good, the only downside was the waiter we had could be a little more welcoming and personable. After hearing the specials, we decided on drinks. I ordered the crimson frost margarita with sangria and a splash of cranberry. It was as delicious as it was lovely. Smooth and sweet. For my dinner I decided on having two appetizers - the Kona Coast ahi sashimi and the ahi tuna crisps. They ordered the Santa Fe enchiladas and the Alaskan halibut. I'm glad I ordered the appetizers. My friend agreed with me about the Alaskan halibut needing the sauce for taste but she prefers bland food so it suited her well. The Santa Fe enchiladas received a good review from my other friend. And my Kona Coast ahi sashimi was really delicious. Light and well seasoned. The coconut rice was not as soft as I like my rice but it was fine. The ahi tuna crisps were yum! The texture of the fish was enhanced by the crisps, highlighting how tender they were. Definitely ordering that again. For dessert I ordered malasadas. The ladies enjoyed them but they weren't as fluffy as malasadas from Hawaii. Still a nice ending to the meal. Our server was friendly and patient with us as we chatted more than we made food decisions. And the associates at the front entrance were friendly as well. The women's restroom was clean and an associate came to tidy up while we were in there. The parking lot can get busy but there are lots across the street where you can park. Had the pleasure of visiting Sierra during a recent business trip to Denver. They're specifically located in Lone Tree, and they're beautifully perched on an elevated plot of land, so you get a nice view around most sides of the restaurant. Our large group was seated near a window and our waiter was friendly, efficient, and was on top of everything our table needed. I decided on their Norwegian Salmon with a grilled corn medley, and mashed potatoes. I got a little greedy and also ordered a side of their Bacon Mac and Cheese, fully intending to share it with the table but it didn't quite work out the way I intended. I also enjoyed an amazing Pilsner on tap(based on the suggestion of our wonderful waiter). Unfortunately, I forgot the name of this Pilsner. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I would be ecstatic to come back to try out more of Sierra's menu. read more

Sierra has a very special place in my heart. I was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and rushed into emergency brain surgery at SkyRidge. When I completed chemo and radiation and on the anniversary of my diagnosis date, my family does dinner and drinks at Sierra (overlooking SkyRidge Hospital). The food is great, the ambiance is cozy and elegant, the service is top notch. I will warn those that are sensitive to noise that, depending on the room you are in, the chairs make a lot of noise as people get up and down from tables. read more

We came for Sunday lunch and got seated right away by the large beautiful windows. We enjoyed the artichoke and tuna tartare appetizers since they ran out of the sashimi so we couldn't try that. The entrees were a bit a of a longer wait. I wish they brought out my salad when the other 2 entrees were ready since I didn't want to eat it all before my group could eat. It wasn't until 20 mins later that my boyfriend got his ribeye steak and our friend the pork chops. By then I was taking tiny bites and my salad eventually got a bit soggy. The steak was cooked perfectly at medium rare and the mash potatoes were super creamy and buttery. We didn't need any steak sauce for that matter! We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Sierra came highly recommended by family members who have been here several times before. The ambiance is great with rustic decor and huge windows overlooking the area. The host station staff were welcoming and friendly and our server was great. The food was amazing. The mini chili rellenos appetizer was outstanding including the green chili. The chile con queso appetizer was good but it came in a very small portion which was disappointing. My husband got the crispy diablo sandwich which he said was very good. I opted for the Louisiana killer shrimp which was a portion of coconut rice with several jumbo shrimp covered in the most delicious Cajun sauce. The dish was fresh and packed with flavor and I just wish it came in a slightly larger portion so that I had more to enjoy. The Texas sheet cake sounded good for dessert but when it came out it was dry, flavorless and stale and it tasted as though it had been overcooked or as though it had been made several days in advance and refrigerated or left out uncovered. We were sorely disappointed by the dessert as homemade Texas sheet cake is a rare find on the menu and we had high expectations as it is a family favorite. I wasn't surprised to hear Sierra is owned by the same company that owns La Loma, as the inside of the building bears a striking resemblance to La Loma's Castle Rock location. Service was a bit slow...both the actual waitress, as well as the lack of working cell service or WiFi, which was a disappointment. My friend and I split the mini Chile rellenos for an appetizer. They were very good, as was the pork green chili they were served with. I was disappointed with the mixed grill fajitas. First, overall size wasn't big. For $48, i expected much better. I had 4-5 small strips of both steak and chicken plus two shrimp. Chicken was dry, steak was a little tough, and shrimp was over-seasoned. Also, a little odd that this didn't come with the typical rice and beans side you'd get with fajitas. La Loma's fajitas are also overpriced, but at least the quality of the meat, especially steak, is top notch. We ordered a side of the green chile Mac and cheese. While that was good, the bacon overtook any green chile flavor that would've been there. My friend had the pot roast/dip sandwich and thought it was very good. Lots of other good looking stuff on the menu, so I'm guessing I'll be back at some point, but I'll skip the fajitas for sure. read more

I flew in from California where it was 80 degrees and sunny, then landed in Denver to 15 degrees and snow with nothing but a windbreaker. Brilliant planning on my part. My hotel was right across the parking lot from Sierra, and even though it was snowing and close to closing, I called in an order and walked over to grab it. The crew was incredibly nice and made sure everything was packed up and ready to go. Other than me nearly freezing to death because I showed up completely unprepared, the meal back in my room was excellent. Really good food, great service, and a perfect first stop after a very rude welcome from Colorado weather. Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be eating here again. read more

Lovely lunch with an old friend in an otherwise kind of sparsely populated (for good restaurants) part of Denver. We had an unusual meal. The teenager with us had a cheeseburger which was, of course, just fine. My guest and I split two orders of their mini chile rellenos, which are essentially a cross between egg rolls and rellenos, served in a green chicken salsa with chopped jalapenos. They are insanely good (and can't possibly be healthy...), an order of the ahi tuna crisps (delicious, surprisingly small), and a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup (delicious, ample portion). Pretty diverse menu otherwise that includes chicken, fish, chops, steaks, salads, etc. Seemed a bit pricey for what we ate...but definitely good food, good service, and a nice room. read more

Very large restaurant with plenty of parking and seating. We went on a Sunday at 2pm with a reservation. The inside dining was packed and the patio wasn't open. We heard a lot of walk ins get told there would be like a 30 min wait or so. When we left, there was still a lot of walk ins and people waiting. We sat by the north window which was really pretty. It had floor to ceiling windows so the view was nice and it made the inside very bright. The sierra french dip ($34) was good. A small sandwich with lots of fries. I wasn't a huge fan of the fries but the dip was good. My partner got the mixed fajitas ($48). He said the chicken was tender, the steak was juicy and the shrimp was good. My friends go the chicken fajitas and the steak fajitas. The steak fajita literally came with a 8oz steak sliced up and ready to go in the fajita. Portions were good for the fajitas. I had never even heard of this place before, but my brother-in-law chose it for his birthday dinner. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Norwegian salmon, which comes with a grilled corn medley, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and pistou. Since I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes, I swapped them out for the coconut rice. The salmon was absolutely delicious. Flaky, tender, and it practically melted in my mouth. The portion size was generous enough that I even took some home. It was almost too salty for me to handle on its own, but pairing it with the corn medley and coconut rice balanced the flavors perfectly. Even with the saltiness, I still really enjoyed it and would definitely order it again. I also tried the Maverick cocktail, which is limited to two per person, and I can absolutely see why. I didn't even finish one and was already tipsy walking out, it's strong, but really good. The vibe of the restaurant leans upscale, but not in a pretentious way. There's no strict dress code, though it's definitely a place you can dress up for if you want to. I dressed up a bit for the occasion and felt perfectly comfortable. Service was great as well. Since we had a large party, two servers took care of us, and both were complete gentlemen. We can be a pretty rambunctious bunch, and I really appreciated how polite, attentive, and patient they were throughout the night. What a beautiful scenic view when dining at the location, especially when sitting in the space where the windows are looking over the view of I-25. The service is great. The staff make sure your order is taken and check up on you but in my Last several visits my food hasn't been hot. However, management is on it - they want to make sure you are happy with your meal. The SOLE reason for only 4 stars is their reservation system didn't work for me. Made rez more than 48 hours in advance with a 'system promise' to confirm w/i 24 hours. Nothing happened for over 36 hours so I called, they couldn't find a rez BUT I was able to set a reservation for the date/time desired. Not a good reservation system. That said, we 4 had a lovely time, received absolutely STELLAR service from Zoe, and had 4 mostly great meals. Shaved prime rib tacos, halibut tacos (my choice), chicken enchiladas and Diablo shrimp. My only issue with my tacos was the tortilla itself. It was so thin and the fill so moist that the tortilla disintegrated in my hand. Not great for an item designed to be eaten hand held. But it still tasted great off my fork!!! All other meals were great with really fresh ingredients. But the star of the show was Zoe. We'd go back just to have Zoe serve us again.
